Abstract This study aimed to examine the role played by the physical literacy and mindfulness in the health-related quality of life (QoL) of college students. In early 2022, 24,236 college students from three universities in southern China were recruited in the study. R software and the lavvan package was utilized to build the structural equation model. The measurement model was composed of three latent factors (physical literacy, mindfulness, and quality of life) and 16 observed variables in total. The results of the measurement model indicated goodness fit with p > .05 in Chi-square result, and GFI = .92. In addition, the comparative fit index (.92), Tucker–Lewis index (.91), root-mean-square error of approximation (.07), and root of mean square residual (.11) were in accord with the cutoff model-fit criteria. The results confirm that physical literacy and mindfulness can play a significant and positive role in the structural equation model of quality of life. In addition, this study provides initial evidence that mindfulness and physical literacy could potentially buffer declines in student QoL during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, this study is the first to develop a structural equation model of QoL with multiple indicators, making it a strong addition to existing research on QoL during a pandemic.

The NanChang Spherical Tokamak (NCST) is a new compact tokamak with an aspect ratio of R/a = 1.67. The vacuum system is one of the most important sub-systems of the tokamak device and has been designed especially for the NCST device. It consists of three main parts: a pumping system, a gas puffing system, and a wall conditioning system. The pumping system includes two turbo-molecular pumps, a cryopump, and two rotary pumps. The gas puffing system consists of a gas supply, transfer lines, a gas reservoir, pressure gauges, and piezoelectric valves. The wall conditioning system includes baking and glow discharge cleaning functions. The vacuum system and related experimental results are described in detail in this paper. The test results indicate that the NCST vacuum system is reliable. Inside the vessel, the ultimate pressure reached 4.2 × 10−6 Pa after 307 h of pumping. The upgraded gas puffing system can accurately control the gas entering the vacuum vessel. The wall conditioning systems, such as those for baking and glow discharge cleaning, also play a very important role in plasma operation. The plasma discharge results show that the basic function of the vacuum system meets the essential requirements of the present experiments on the NCST tokamak.

The purpose of this study was to explore the ameliorative effect of CpG-ODN on spleen damage after carbon ion radiation (CIR). In the experiment, C57BL/6L mice were irradiated with 5 Gy of CIR and the index of spleen was calculated. Changes in spleen tissue structure were observed by histological examination (HE). Double-strand break (DSB) of DNA and apoptosis were detected by γ-H2AX immunohistochemistry and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick and labeling (TUNEL) assay, respectively. The number of B cells in the peripheral blood was examined using CD19 antibody labeling. These results showed that CpG-ODN improved the index of spleen, relieved red pulp atrophy, and increased the area of white pulp, in which the number of γ-H2AX foci and TUNEL-positive cells were decreased after CIR. In addition, CpG-OND increased the number of CD19+ B cells in peripheral blood after CIR. These results indicated that CpG-ODN ameliorates spleen damage induced by CIR, possibly by inhibiting the rate of DSB and apoptosis.

In recent years, percutaneous catheter interventions have continuously evolved, becoming an essential strategy for interventional diagnosis and treatment of many structural heart diseases and arrhythmias. Along with the increasing complexity of cardiac interventions comes ever more complex demands for intraoperative imaging. Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) is well-suited for these requirements with real-time imaging, real-time monitoring for intraoperative complications, and a well-tolerated procedure. As a result, ICE is increasingly used many types of cardiac interventions. Given the lack of relevant guidelines at home and abroad and to promote and standardize the clinical applications of ICE, the members of this panel extensively evaluated relevant research findings, and they developed this consensus document after discussions and correlation with front-line clinical work experience, aiming to provide guidance for clinicians and to further improve interventional cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment procedures.

To investigate the ameliorative effect of CpG-ODN on thymus damage after carbon ion radiation (CIR), C57BL/6L mice were irradiated with 5 Gy of CIR, and 30-day survival was observed. The index of the thymus was calculated and the degree of thymus damage was evaluated by histological examination. Apoptosis was detected by terminal dexynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick and labeling (TUNEL) assay and double-strand break (DSB) was detected by γ-H2AX immunohistochemistry. The number of T cells in the peripheral blood was examined by CD3 antibody labeling. The results showed that CpG-ODN increased mice survival by 50%, obviously ameliorated thymus damage, reduced the number of γ-H2AX foci and TUNEL-positive cells of the thymus, and increased the number of CD3+ T cells in peripheral blood after CIR. This indicated that CpG-ODN could ameliorate thymus damage induced by CIR. These findings might be related to the inhibition of DSB and apoptosis.

In this article, the thermal and mechanical properties of hydroxyapatite (HA)/polyetheretherketone (PEEK) nanocomposites were investigated. The surface of the HA particles was modified by stearic acid. Subsequently, the modified HA and PEEK were ultrasonically dispersed in ethanol and then subjected to drying and ball milling treatments. By controlling the concentration of modified HA, HA/PEEK nanocomposite powders containing various amounts of modified HA were successfully prepared. The tensile strength, impact strength, and flexural strength of the nanocomposite reached maximum values at 2.5 wt% HA and were 18.5%, 38.2%, and 5.7% higher than those of the pure PEEK, respectively. Moreover, the flexural modulus of the HA/PEEK nanocomposites increased at 2.5 wt% HA and was approximately 30% higher than that of the pure PEEK. The thermal property measurements (differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis) showed that the nanocomposites with 2.5 wt%-modified HA exhibited enhanced thermal stability as compared to the pure PEEK, showing potential for selective laser sintering.

This study aimed to explore the differences between the effectiveness of using a combination of rehabilitation and acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), and rehabilitation therapy alone for the treatment of spinal cord injury (SCI). The newly admitted patients with spinal cord injury whose post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) score was higher than 38 points were randomly categorized into the treatment group and control group, with 30 patients in each group. One group underwent ACT and rehabilitation treatment, while the other underwent rehabilitation treatment only. PTSD and functional independence measure (FIM) scores were evaluated. The application of ultrasound and microbubbles (USMB-) mediated microRNA (miR) is a promising approach of gene delivery for cancer treatment. We aimed to discuss the effects of USMB-miR-505 on cervical cancer (CC) development. miR-505 mediated by USMB was prepared. The effect of miR-505 on its transfection efficiency and the effect of miR-505 on HeLa cell proliferation, cell cycle, apoptosis, migration, and invasion were studied. The target gene of miR-505 was predicted, and its expression in CC was detected. The effect of the target gene on HeLa cells was further verified. USMB-miR-505 showed a higher transfection efficiency than miR-505 alone. The inhibitory effect of miR-505 mediated by USMB on HeLa cells was better than miR-505. miR-505 targeted AKT2, which was upregulated in CC. Overexpression of AKT2 reversed the inhibitory effect of USMB-miR-505 on HeLa cell malignant behaviors. Overall, we highlighted that USMB-miR-505 inhibited HeLa cell malignant behaviors by targeting AKT2.

Objective To analyze the relationship between the suicide method and the sex, age, education background and cause of suicide to provide reference for the forensic identification of suicide. Methods After scene investigation, external body examination, autopsy and case investigation, 124 identified suicide cases which happened in recent three years in Wuhua district in Kunming were collected. Analytical methods as chi-square test and descriptive statistics were performed by SPSS 22.0. Results In all the suicide cases, male to female ratio was 1.53∶1. The suicide methods were mainly fatal fall, hanging and drowning. The ratio of local to non-native residents was 1∶1. The suicide rate in the people with primary school or junior middle school education level was highest. The group of >10-50 years tended to choose fatal fall suicide and people over 60 years were more likely to choose hanging. People with different academic background tended to choose fatal fall suicide. The suicide methods as fatal fall and hanging were chosen because of mental and physical diseases and economic problems, while the suicides with emotional problems were more likely to choose fatal fall and poisoning. Conclusion Suicide belongs to a kind of complex cases. For the cases of suspected suicide, complete exploration and overall consideration should be done to determine the nature of cases based on comprehensive analysis of all the influence factors.

Over the past two decades, Shanghai, the largest megacity in China, has been coping with unprecedented growth of its economy and population while overcoming previous underinvestment in the health system by the central and local governments. We study the evolution of Shanghai’s healthcare system by analyzing “Avoidable Mortality” (AM) – deaths amenable to public health and healthcare interventions, as previously defined in the literature. Based on analysis of mortality data, by cause of death, from the Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, we analyze trends over the period 2000–10 and compare Shanghai’s experience to other mega-city regions – New York, London and Paris. Population health status attributable to public health and healthcare interventions improved dramatically for Shanghai’s population with permanent residency status. The age-adjusted rate of AM, per 1,000 population, dropped from 0.72 to 0.50. The rate of decrease in age-adjusted AM in Shanghai (30%) was comparable to New York City (30%) and Paris (25%), but lower than London (42%). Shanghai’s establishment of the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention and its upgrading of public health and health services are likely to have contributed to the large decrease in the number and rate of avoidable deaths, which suggests that investments in public health infrastructure and increasing access to health services in megacities – both in China and worldwide – can produce significant mortality declines. Future analysis in Shanghai should investigate inequalities in avoidable deaths and the extent to which these gains have benefitted the significant population of urban migrants who do not have permanent residency status.

The Resonant Integrated Optic Gyroscope (RIOG) is a type of high accuracy gyroscope based on the Sagnac effect. A symmetrical resonance curve is very important to the performance of the RIOG. To further investigate and design a RIOG with a waveguide ring resonator, an in-depth research of the asymmetric resonance curve and its influence on the RIOG is fully developed. Four possible optical noises inducing the resonance curve asymmetry are analyzed and their mathematic models are established. These four optical noises are the normal mode effect, the backscattering noise, the backreflection noise and the polarization noise. Any asymmetry of the resonance curve will not only induce a large output bias error into the gyro output, but also seriously decrease the frequency discrimination parameter of the demodulation curve. By using a tunable fiber laser, the high aspect ratio silicon nitride WRR and the silicon dioxide WRR were tested. The experiment measured resonance curves can be well fitted with the theoretical simulation results. The experimental results show that a high aspect ratio silicon nitride waveguide can effectively suppress the polarization noise in the RIOG.

Based on database of collected gas monitoring information of coal mine monitoring system in coal mine production process,the paper put forward a scheme of using clustering analysis method based on DBSCAN algorithm to mining characteristics of gas accident information.It pointed out shortage of DBSCAN algorithm in practical application,proposed an improved scheme of DBSCAN algorithm based on data partition,and introduced the concrete improving method.The result of applying the clustering analysis method based on the improved DBSCAN algorithm to make clustering analysis and extract of information feature of gas monitoring data of coal mine showed that the method is effective.At last,the paper pointed out the farther research direction of the method.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of the Shanghai Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP). METHODS: A randomized controlled trial with six-month follow-up compared patients who received treatment with those who did not receive treatment (waiting-list controls) in five urban communities in Shanghai, China. Participants in the treatment group received education from a lay-led CDSMP course and one copy of a help book immediately; those in the control group received the same education and book six months later. FINDINGS: In total, 954 volunteer patients with a medical record that confirmed a diagnosis of hypertension, heart disease, chronic lung disease, arthritis, stroke, or diabetes who lived in communities were assigned randomly to treatment (n = 526) and control (n = 428) groups. Overall, 430 (81.7%) and 349 (81.5%) patients in the treatment and control groups completed the six-month study. Patients who received treatment had significant improvements in weekly minutes of aerobic exercise, practice of cognitive symptom management, self-efficacy to manage own symptoms, and self-efficacy to manage own disease in general compared with controls. They also had significant improvements in eight indices of health status and, on average, fewer hospitalizations. CONCLUSION: When implemented in Shanghai, the CDSMP was acceptable culturally to Chinese patients. The programme improved participants' health behaviour, self-efficacy, and health status and reduced the number of hospitalizations six months after the course. The locally based delivery model was integrated into the routine of community government organizations and community health services. Chinese lay leaders taught the CDSMP courses as successfully as professionals.

In view of problems of fuzziness and uncertainty of output signal of gas sensor used in coal mine, the paper proposed a design scheme of gas monitoring system based on BP network and D-S evidence theory. The system uses improved BP algorithm to get basic probability assignment of underground environment and uses D-S evidence theory to fusion information of output of BP network, so as to make judgment and decision of underground gas state. The experiment result showed that the system improves accuracy of monitored gas information and rapidity of decision.

The distinguishing feature of dynamic assessment (DA) is the dialectical integration of assessment and instruction. However, how to design the targeted instruction or mediation has been relatively underexplored. To address this gap, this study proposes the attribute-based mediation model (AMM), an English-as-a-foreign-language listening mediation model based on item attributes (constructs) derived from cognitive diagnostic assessment (CDA). CDA provides theoretical and methodological support for the accurate correspondence of items and attributes via Q-matrix development and validation. The CDA-identified attributes can inform the construction of targeted mediation models in DA, within which the mediation will serve as the subsequent remedial instruction. In this way, diagnosis and instruction were bridged through the integration of CDA and DA. The results of three one-on-one DA sessions showed that the AMM has the potential to diagnose learners' listening ability at the attribute level and to stimulate microgenetic development. This study is significant in linking the psychometric-based validity of a test and the DA-based validity of development. It also provides insights into future mediation design and a possible way of merging DA and diagnostic language assessment.
