Color is an essential element in the exhibition space of museums, influencing people's visual experience. To quantitatively study the relationship between color and individual visual perception in museum exhibition spaces, the study used eye-tracking technology combined with a questionnaire, exploring the relationship between color and visual perception in the exhibition environments of history museums in terms of hue, saturation, and brightness of color. Taking the Ruijin Central Revolutionary Base in Jiangxi Province as a historical display space for research, the results show that when the saturation is 69–77%, or the hue is red (0°H), the exhibited. environments have stronger color attractiveness. The study demonstrated that the first fixation duration in eye movement data significantly negatively correlates with the subject's personal preference, comfort, pleasure, and attractiveness. Abstract Urbanization has led to homogenizing heritage site landscapes, and the protective measures have become disconnected from public needs. Additionally, the complex and diverse overall characteristics of heritage sites and the uneven distribution of values across different areas are related to the lack of landscape experience assessment. The “subjective + objective” cognitive evaluation and visual perception framework that adopts the Scenic Beauty Estimation Procedure-Semantic Differential (SBE–SD) method and eye-tracking analysis can compensate for the limitations of a single evaluation method by integrating quantitative and qualitative analysis. This research takes the Yi’an Fortress in Zhangpu County, Fujian Province, as the object and examines the visual experiences of different areas and types of landscapes within the Yi’an Fortress. The findings reveal several key insights: (1) Significant differences were found in the landscape experiences of different areas within the heritage site. The visual experience score of the core building area of Yi’an Fortress is (1.01) > the heritage entrance area (0.897) > the residential area (0.841) > the natural ecological area (0.784), indicating that the natural ecological area should be the focus of future protection and development efforts, with a particular emphasis on enhancing the ‘landscape aesthetic’ and ‘landscape cultural’ aspects. (2) The landscape experience scores can be used to understand the reasons for the differences in participants’ experiences of different landscapes. The architectural heritage landscape of the Yi’an Fortress scored highest in the experience evaluation due to its superior performance in terms of ‘landscape form’ factors. The cultural decorative landscape scored next, while the garden greening landscape scored the lowest, due to their poorer performance in terms of ‘landscape form’ and ‘landscape aesthetics’. (3) The eye-tracking data was consistent with the results of the subjective evaluation, validating the “subjective + objective” cognitive evaluation and visual perception framework, employing the SBE–SD method and eye-tracking analysis is a scientific and effective method for assessing the visual experience of heritage landscapes. These results provide a scientific basis for the heritage planners and managers of the Yi’an fortress to improve the landscape environment, better meet public needs, and preserve the unique character of this vital cultural resource. Furthermore, this study offers a new research method and approach for the protection of other heritage landscapes.

In digital interactive interfaces with high visual workloads, it is important for operators to allocate their limited attentional resources appropriately to ensure efficient information collection. The salience, effort, expectancy, value (SEEV) model, which combines top‐down and bottom‐up attention mechanisms for predicting attention allocation, has been validated in research areas such as piloting, driving, and surgical operations. However, the validity of the SEEV model in the field of robotic arm teleoperation has not yet been thoroughly studied. The primary purpose of this study was to confirm the feasibility of the SEEV model for operator visual attention allocation prediction in a robotic arm teleoperation scenario. The improved ITTI algorithm, distance‐measuring tool, Delphi method, and lowest ordinal algorithm were adopted to qualify the four factors of the SEEV model, which also contributed to salience and expectancy quantification methods. Accordingly, an attention allocation prediction model in a robotic arm teleoperation scene was constructed. To verify the validity of the prediction model, 20 participants were recruited to control the robotic arm using V‐REP simulation software, and their fixation durations were recorded using an eye tracker as an attention allocation indicator. Participants controlled the robotic arm according to the experimental requirements and operational tasks, such as grasping and placing the target. The results demonstrated that the theoretical data based on the SEEV prediction model are significantly related to the proportion of fixation durations. The experiment verifies the suitability of the SEEV prediction model, and it is anticipated to be utilized in the optimization of interactive interfaces for robotic arm teleoperation. Painting and public art no longer exist separately and in isolation but interpenetrate and integrate. The painting depicts and expresses objective objects through multiple painting languages such as chiaroscuro, color, texture, etc., while public art is an art of comprehensive display combined with venue, material and emotion. This paper analyzes the physiological structure of the human eye and the visual imaging system, integrates the mechanism of human visual attention into the perceptual construction process of public art painting creation, and then focuses on the research of the mechanism of stereoscopic perception and binocular perception of the human eye. On this basis, combining the spatial and temporal characteristics of the human eye to the creation of public art paintings, the visual communication mechanism of public art painting creation is explored from the three aspects of visual communication elements, paths and efficiency, and the subway mural creation is used as an example to analyze the feedback effect of visual communication. The results show that when the visual distance interval is 4~7, it is favorable to the visual communication of public art painting creation. In addition, focusing on the hue characteristics of the pattern color space while referring to the saturation and luminance characteristics for numerical analysis and quantification can be better for visual communication. Eye movement experiments show that higher color temperature scores are more in line with viewer preferences.

To explore the impact of virtual tourism on travel intention, this study developed the model incorporating virtual tourism content and form, visual appeal, presence, virtual attachment, and travel intention. Eye movement experiments, scenario experiments, and questionnaire surveys were integrated. Analysis of 48 eye movement datasets and 210 survey responses indicated that virtual tourism affected travel intention mostly through visual appeal: (1) Regarding visual appeal, videos of real scenes were stronger than videos of virtual scenes, and videos of virtual scenes were stronger than pictures of virtual scenes. Confronting the age of artificial intelligence, exploring art through technology has become one of the directions of interdisciplinary development. Not only does artificial intelligence technology explore sustainability on a technical level; it can also take advantage of itself to focus on the visual perception of the living environment. People frequently interpret environmental features through their eyes, and the use of intuitive eye-tracking can provide effective data that can contribute to environmental sustainability in managing the environment and color planning to enhance the image of cities. This research investigates the visual responses of people viewing the historic city of Macau through an eye movement experiment to understand how the color characteristics of the physical environment are perceived. The research reveals that the buildings and plantings in the historic district of Macau are the most visible objects in the environment, while the smaller scale of St. Dominic's Square, the Company of Jesus Square, and St. Augustine's Square, which have a sense of spatial extension, have also become iconic environmental landscapes. This also draws visual attention and guides the direction of travel. The overall impressions of the Historic Centre of Macau, as expressed by the participants after the eye movement experiment, were mainly described as "multiculturalism", "architectural style", "traditional architecture", "color scheme", and "garden planting". The 60 colors representing the urban color of Macau are then organized around these deep feelings about the environment. Therefore, for future inspiration, the 60 colors can be applied through design practice to create color expressions that fit the local characteristics, and thereby enhance the overall visual image of the city. In this paper, the modeling design of round baler is carried out based on unconscious quantification. Through 3D scanner scanning round baler, relevant data were collected, and 3D software was used to build the model. Real-time data of the subjects in the process of viewing visual information are obtained using the man–machine ring synchronization platform system and eye movement instrument, which is regarded as an unconscious cognitive experiment. By summarizing and analyzing the experimental data, we can find the application effect of different colors and shapes. With this method, the product modeling effect with high realism, high precision and realistic processing can be obtained, and the unconscious visual cognition of subjects can be quantitatively analyzed, which provides scientific reference for further optimizing the modeling design of agricultural machinery. In order to study the influence of safety sign attribute characteristics on visual attention of subjects under different light intensities, three attributes of frame color, frame shape and background contrast color were selected as independent variables. Under different light intensities, eye movement tracking technology was used to record the first fixation time and the number of fixation points of the subjects, and the differences of visual attention effects were compared. SPSS26.0 software was used for data analysis. The results showed that under different light intensities, the difference of safety sign attributes could significantly affect the visual attention of the subjects. Under high light intensity, the participants’ first fixation time on red, triangle and white safety signs was shorter, and the number of fixation points was more, and the visual attention effect was better. Under low light intensity, subjects paid more attention to green, triangle and white contrasting colors.

In many aspects of people's production and life, artistic images have been widely used. Because the image has the function of transmitting information, it can provide necessary space environment information for people. However, there are many problems in the design of stylised art images, and hence the usability of images is affected. Due to its unique advantages, the study of artistic eye movement has gradually become a research hotspot. The fuzzy differential equation is an important branch of differential equation theory, which can be used to study eye movement experiments in the field of the art research. In the process of observation, experiment and maintenance, errors cannot be avoided, and the variables and parameters obtained are often fuzzy, incomplete and inaccurate. And fuzzy differential equations can deal with these uncertainties well. At first, this paper studies the migration-image-study-related theory and art image, based on the study of an artistic image that can be divided into instructions image and symbol and image, with the help of eye movement experiment method to investigate the effects of two types of image on people read mechanism. This research mainly uses the fuzzy differential equation for the visual search experimental paradigm to identify the influence of the difference of the effect.

In order to explore the significant influence of light level and auxiliary text on coal mine safety signs under different working face scenes in coal mines, we selected 6 common coal mining face scenes, and carried out eye movement experiments of safety signs with and without auxiliary text under the contrast of different light levels. The Tobii eye tracker was used to record the average pupil diameter, blink frequency and average fixation time of 35 subjects, and the SPSS19.0 software was used for experimental analysis. The results show that both the light level and the auxiliary text have a significant impact on the safety signs of coal mines. In bright light scenes, adding auxiliary text helps to improve the participants’ recognition of safety signs; there is no significant difference in the recognition degree of safety signs among the subjects under different working face scenarios.

Optimizing a display interface design for rollers is the focus of this study, in which the effects of cognitive load of the operator are taken into consideration, which greatly contribute to acquiring interface information accurately and enhancing cognitive efficiency. To reduce the cognitive demand of the operator, a commonly used generic display interface is modified in this study. Three methods are used to measure the cognitive load, including subjective (NASA Task Load Index) and physiological (eye movement) measurements and through task performance. These three measurements are used with two groups of subjects: those who view the original and those who are given the modified version during four given tasks. The findings show that the modified interface has a significant impact on eye movement and completion time of the four tasks. After a comprehensive analysis of the results from the three types of measurement, it is found that the modified interface is less cognitively demanding than the original interface and allows a higher cognitive performance, which accordingly demonstrates that the modifications made are effective in reducing cognitive load. This study therefore provides the scientific basis for advancing interface designs and evaluating the display interface designs for engineering equipment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Reading processes are an important issue in psycholinguistics. Scholars have different opinions about the processes and cognitive models involved in reading. Moreover, whether wrongly written Chinese characters can be detected and restored in context is also the focus of much research (among which the relationship and role of orthographic layers, phonological layers, and semantic layers also lead to different views and divergent opinions). With the support of modern science and technology, eye movement experiments can be used to record and analyze the actual cognitive processes of readers. This study explores whether there is any effect on detecting and restoring wrongly written characters in context for readers of Chinese as a second language. How phonetics and orthography are linked to each other are used to further explore and discuss the above controversy. Therefore, based on the connectionist model this study uses an eye movement experiment to analyze the recognition speed of similar orthography, similar phonetics and orthography, and homophones in the correct context for Chinese learners from different language backgrounds (Sino-sphere and non-Sino-sphere) and different language levels. Through a comprehensive analysis of three variables, early eye movement indicators (first fixation duration and first run dwell time) are analyzed. Visual time and late eye movement indicators (total dwell time, regression path duration, and fixation count) are used to illustrate the recognition sequence and speed between orthography, phonology and semantics. In the process, a more specific connectionist model is established. Five noteworthy results are clear: (1) There is no significant difference in eye movement between sentences with and without wrongly written characters, so it is believed that the words can be read smoothly by learners, that is, the wrongly written character can be automatically repaired to complete the understanding of words and sentences. (2) Sino-sphere and non-Sino-sphere learners both show a strong connection between orthographic and semantics in the early recognition process of language, but the effect of recovery and detection of non-Sino-sphere learners is weaker than Sino-sphere learners. (3) Sino-sphere learners recognize better characters that have similar orthography, which means that the connection between orthography and semantics is stronger; the non-Sino-sphere learners recognize better the homophone. In other words, the connection between phonetics and semantics is stronger. (4) In the later stage of the cognitive process of character recognition, Sino-sphere learners rely more on the conversion of phonetics and semantics. Non-Sino-sphere learners have the same decoding speed for the phonetic, orthographic, and combination. (5) In the model of native speakers' recognition, the decoding speed of the combination of phonetic, orthographic, and combination are the same, and none of them is dominant. Therefore, its cognitive structure is a stable and mature structure in native readers. Overall, learners of Chinese as a second language perform differently in detecting and restoring wrongly written character in reading, and learners of different language backgrounds and language proficiencies have different performance in Chinese character recognition. This has important implications for teaching Chinese characters and words to speakers of other languages. Teachers can learn from this study how to improve teaching methods, and Chinese learners can adopt more scientific and effective learning methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aimed at the problem of how to objectively obtain the threshold of a user’s cognitive load in a virtual reality interactive system, a method for user cognitive load quantification based on an eye movement experiment is proposed. Eye movement data were collected in the virtual reality interaction process by using an eye movement instrument. Taking the number of fixation points, the average fixation duration, the average saccade length, and the number of the first mouse clicking fixation points as the independent variables, and the number of backward-looking times and the value of user cognitive load as the dependent variables, a cognitive load evaluation model was established based on the probabilistic neural network. The model was validated by using eye movement data and subjective cognitive load data. The results show that the absolute error and relative mean square error were 6.52%−16.01% and 6.64%−23.21%, respectively. Therefore, the model is feasible.
