This article contends with Dietrich Bonhoeffer that Christian ethics does not hinge on the concept of “good” but instead emphasizes “history” as the focal point. Within this context Paul Ricoeur’s concept of hermeneutics emerges as a promising approach to reinterpreting Bonhoeffer’s Ethics, especially the relationship between simple obedience and decisive judgment. In addition, while making decisions in extraordinary situations poses challenges to Bonhoeffer, Ricoeur’s narrative framework may serve to connect the fragmented dot-like moments of ethical agents in concrete situations. Realism lingered quite long in Turkish literature. From the 1900s onwards, realism and naturalism were prominent movements. If the often-despised detective novels are put aside, there was hardly any room for the extraordinary in fiction. During the socialist realism era, realism almost became the sole movement and was strong until the 1950s. Despite the appearance of the first modern literature from that time on, it kept its prominent position until the 1970s. What realism skillfully pushed outside the literature were the supernatural, the magic, the extraordinary, the mythical, and the fairy-tale-inspired narration. However, these elements made a comeback in the 1980s and quickly spread in the 2000s. Today, almost all fiction comprises these elements, and this time not in the form of the despised "B-literature," but in a very mainstream way. Today, the fantastic, detective novels, historical/biographical fiction and science fiction of all sorts are living their golden age. Often fused with myths, fairy-tales, epics, and such, this new type of fiction is like a scene where the supernatural has made its glorious comeback. In this paper, I will show the different ways and forms of this comeback in two novels: The Stories of Efrasiyab by İhsan Oktay Anar and The Red Haired Woman by Orhan Pamuk. Analyzing these novels based on their approach to the supernatural, I will try to show how myths and reality mix, what type of novel universe they create, and what this new reality stands for in the postmodern times we live in. It has always been a much-debated question how the two final stanzas of Horace’s Second Roman Ode fit to what came before in this poem. This paper will venture to place the apparent anomaly of these two verses within a new context emphasizing the strong and traditional connection between the constitution of the Roman State and the pax deorum. The second section of the poem (verses 5–6) portrays the workings of virtus as something incompatible with the usual ways and protocols of the late Republican political procedure in Rome. The all-changing effects of the Augustan transformations can be regarded as an inevitable consequence of the nature of the virtus, but at the same time, it can cause religious anxiety from somebody seeing and understanding this transformation. This article’s assumption is that ordinary aesthetics does not necessarily imply a distancing from art and artists; rather, it can benefit from the input of creators when they use everyday scenes or objects as their theme. This approach focuses on the practice of twentieth-century Italian painter Giorgio Morandi, who depicted compositions of common objects such as bottles, jars, and vases. Through Morandi’s meditative and artistic search, these objects are given value and aesthetic elevation in his paintings. Thomas Leddy’s aesthetics of everyday life will also be called upon in my analysis, insofar as the author recognizes a continuity between the ordinary and the extraordinary, through auratic experiences. If Morandi discovers the extraordinary in the trivial, this is achieved through a gradual process of selection regarding the objects he favoured, which allows for the interaction of various levels of aesthetic intensity. Morandi’s objects and models and their preparation suggest a circulation between aesthetic degrees that, in turn, suggests a timeless “language of things” fixed through the discourse of the paintings. Along these lines, it will be necessary to address the enchantment related to common things, a mesmerizing presence of which we became more aware through Morandi compositions.

Introduction and aim. In extraordinary situations, sexual/reproductive health services are very important for the health of the whole society, especially women and children. The aim of this study is to assess the impact of training provided on sexual health/reproductive health during extraordinary situations on the knowledge levels of nurses and midwives. Material and methods. The research was conducted using a single-group pre-test-post-test follow-up test measurement quasi-experimental design. It was completed between November 2021-June 2022 with 140 participants working in a province in Turkey. The data were collected with the "Descriptive Information Form" and the "Sexual Health and Reproductive Health Knowledge Assessment Form for Extraordinary Situations". Training was given with the Sexual Health/Reproductive Health Training Booklet for Extraordinary Situations. Results. It was found that the participants scored 20.82±4.47 on the Sexual Health and Reproductive Health Knowledge Assessment Form for Extraordinary Situations in the pre-test, 27.63±2.67 in the post-test, and 27.07±3.46 in the follow-up test. As a result of the training, it was determined that the difference between the scores they got from the Sexual Health and Reproductive Health Knowledge Assessment Form for Extraordinary Situations was due to the pre-test (p<0.05). Conclusion. In the study, the participants scored above the average in the pre-test, while they achieved significantly higher scores in the post-test and follow-up test. In this article we explore the vicissitudes of extraordinariness in relation to homelessness and mortality in Britain. Death and its threat are a constant presence in the lives of people experiencing homelessness, but despite the established fact that homeless populations have a far lower life expectancy than the general population, mortality is rarely considered as part of the homelessness plight, nor is it fully acknowledged or understood in official spheres. This article explores the ways in which homelessness and mortality are constructed as an unpreventable phenomenon, not deserving of any meaningful political intervention. Drawing on the conceptual framework of 'organised abandonment', we argue that the invisibility of homeless people in death can be linked to their invisibility in life. In so doing, we underline the minimalist policy frameworks and the expansion of anti-homeless campaigns, which, to different extents, result in the exclusion of homeless individuals and families. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the risk of death affecting homeless groups was responded to as an extraordinary social and political problem, requiring maximum political intervention. While remaining cognisant of the limitations of the extraordinary homelessness and housing policy measures brought in during this time, we argue that there are key possibilities to be explored within those policy responses. Andrea Cremer and David Levithan’s Invisibility is a contemporary novel with a twist of magical realism. Stephen and Elizabeth, the main characters, had made the story in the novel different colors. The study focused on how magical realism was presented in the novel through its five characteristics: irreducible element, the phenomenal world, unsettling doubts, merging realms, and disruptions of time, space, and identity. Applying Wendy B. Faris’ perspective, this study examined extraordinary things that happened within the ordinary to sort them into said characteristics of magical realism. The qualitative research method applied proved that in Cremer and Levithan’s Invisibility, there existed extraordinary events for each magical realism element, such as Stephen’s abrupt disappearance when Elizabeth blinked as the irreducible element; Stephen’s acceptance of being invisible and living in a accessible place like New York as the phenomenal world; Elizabeth’s doubts concerning Stephen’s form as the unsettling doubt; an ordinary-looking comic store being a magical office in disguise as the merging realm; and Elizabeth’s ability to enter into a different side of the regular universe as the disruption of space.

The central question with regard to Nicholas Sparks’s The Notebook is whether it is a novel of love or romance. Novels of love and romances are not the same. In romance novels, the character description is not limited. They can be described as common people with ordinary jobs or they can be socialites with extravagant profession.But the characters in love stories must be as real as possible. They cannot be luxurious people with extravagant jobs. A novel cannot be considered as a romance if there is no happy ending. But there is no clear explanation to what kind of ending a love story has to have. According to Sparks’s views on characteristics of romance and love, he considers The Notebook as a novel of love. Even though, as readers, we respect the author’s interpretation, the characters of his novel have typical romance characteristics, and it is likely that it was marketed as a romance novel because of the second cover of the novel. In this paper, a novel spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) waveguide based on I-shaped grooves has been presented in order to achieve extraordinary field enhancement of spoof SPPs at deep subwavelength scale. These I-shaped grooves are basically the transformed version of rectangular grooves incorporated by conventional spoof SPP waveguide, made up by virtue of lateral extension on either ends of these grooves. This approach which consists of addressing the grooves shape transformation proves very fruitful to accommodate higher capacitance and therefore leading to ultrahigh field confinement of spoof SPPs by lowering resonance frequency. Compared with plasmonic waveguide with T-shaped grooves which occupies the highest confinement of spoof SPPs than the previously reported different grooves shapes [Journal of Applied Physics 122, 123301 (2017)], the extension of lower ends of the grooves facilitates us with ultra-strong field confinement of spoof SPPs with low-loss feature. The proposed spoof SPP waveguide is more compact and a low cost structure exhibiting a strong response for spoof SPPs than the T-shaped spoof SPP waveguide. As a comparison, SPP-TL with T-shaped grooves results have been presented along with newly proposed SPP-TL with I-shaped grooves. Simulation results show that highly confined spoof SPPs can be generated by embedding I-shaped grooves in spoof SPP transmission line as compared to the spoof SPP TL with T-shaped grooves. Furthermore, a parametric study is presented to show its influence on the confinement. The proposed waveguide can be helpful in developing various integrated plasmonic circuits and systems at microwave frequencies.

In many verses of the Quran, the Almighty Allah declared that he gave various miracles to his prophets in general expressions or that they came with various miracles. According to these expressions, it is understood that all prophets were given a miracle. The names of twenty-five prophets are mentioned in the Qur'an. Although it is declared that every prophet was given a miracle, there is no mention of any miracle given to the prophets Idris, Lot, Hârûn, Zulkifl, Ilyas and Elyesa in the Qur'an. On the other hand, it is stated that various miracles were given to the prophets Musa, Dawud, Sulaiman, and Isa, and some information were provided about them. Due to the multitude of miracles given to these prophets, the miracles given to them were only mentioned as names in our article, and their details were referred to other studies. The situation regarding the Prophet is approximately the same. For this reason, the miracles of the prophets other than these two parts have been examined in our article. The purpose of this article is to review the events that seem extraordinary in the Qur'an about the prophets outside these two sections, in which part they belong in terms of the nature and purpose of the miracle, especially to determine which ones are capable of breaking the laws of nature (harik altabia). This study examines whether there is lexical evidence in Kierkegaard's writings to support the view that den Enkelte is far removed from a conceptual mistaking of his thought as individualistic, in that it leads to a withdrawal from the social and political milieu to becoming a lonely rebel. It considers six selected texts from the Kierkegaard Corpus, for its linguistic and literary approach that employs computer applications to establish a conceptual-linguistic map of den Enkelte. Interpreting numerical data and analysing the map, the study offers an answer to the research question as to whether there is lexical evidence and considers the implication of the evidence for understanding related questions in Kierkegaard studies. In brief, it identifies 12 terms and provides another perspective from which to augment our grasp of a concept that Kierkegaard considers to be principal in Christianity as "existence-communication". This article focuses on the incipit of the second part of La Araucana by Alonso de Ercilla. The incipit relates a triple contingent event (the apparition of a comet, an earthquake, a lightning strike) concomitant with the arrival of captain Hurtado de Mendoza into Chile. By comparing this episode from Ercilla’s work with the chronicles which refer to the captain’s arrival, the article shows how the epic in fact makes up the three meteorological wonders and claims them to be true in order to elaborate a political meaning.

Keramat (Dignity) is always renowned for the Sufis and is considered as the most prominent ability of the Sufi elderly. Dignity topic is one of the beginning topics of Sufism and a major part of Sufism literature is narrating Dignity of Sufi elders. According to Quran, prophets do acts that are impossible for mankind in facing of opponents to be an approval of their speech and acts. Some of Sufis consider Dignity as a reason to rightfulness of their leadership. But, some others denied it and consider it as a reason of downfall in the way to advancement and perfection. However, Dignity is seen in Iranian romances and is an example of the capabilities of the hero of the romance. The root of it should be sought in the culture derived from myth. In this research, the author is going to analyze these commonalities together, and according to it, explore the Dignity out of Sufian stories and separate Dignities of story heroes from other in two romances that have religious attitude, Abumoslenameh and Hamzehnameh, and come to the conclusion that ‘Far’ (God Chosen), that is the spiritual power said in ancient thoughts, is the source of Dignity thought. The belief in all these stories is central. According to this, romance, especially religious romance, tries to promote the important element of belief; meaning that it will try to follow the purpose that Islamic mysticism got from telling elders stories. Jean Elshtain claims that her defense of torture draws from the Christian tradition. To defend this claim, she makes direct appeal to Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Her defense of torture has taken on greater political significance today. This article will refute Elshtain's claim to Bonhoeffer. To do so, this article will first point to Bonhoeffer's explicit rejection of torture in Ethics, then argue that Bonhoeffer's rejection of torture draws from themes initiated in Creation and Fall. Placing Bonhoeffer in conversation with David Decosimo will show that Bonhoeffer holds a distinction between relation-ending and relation-perverting acts. Responsible actors may be called to perform the former class of actions, like tyrannicide, in extraordinary situations. However, the latter class of actions, like torture or rape, constitutes a limit to responsible action that we find no evidence Bonhoeffer is willing to cross. This paper came about from an astonishing observation of the usual, the commonplace, the ordinary, and even more profoundly, of the infra-ordinary. In recent years, the appropriation and instrumentalisation of the commonplace has become a recurrent practise. We propose examining the transition from the infra-ordinary towards the extraordinary using a peculiar form of representation through drawing. We will attempt to highlight certain forms of representing projects that have been characterised over the last ten years by an awareness of the lack of economic and environmental resources, raising the visibility of every-day actions in the urban, architectural and artistic environment. The infra-ordinary allows us to reveal the subversive potential of the commonplace to sometimes become extraordinary experiences. The general rule on the punishment and culpability attempted criminal offense is separately regulated under the substantive criminal code, which prescribes the same time and the number of cases of a special punishment of attempts, in cases where it is not possible to apply a basic rule, which relies on a prescribed punishment for a particular criminal offense. Legal rule of culpability attempts is regulated through the guideline of “when the law expressly prescribes punishment for the attempt.” In this paper, the author shows in detail and analyzes all the special forms of criminality attempts, determining their representation, a catalog in Croatian criminal law, comparing the weight originally prescribed for a particular criminal offense which is extremely punishable attempt and analyzing their representation by each of the Penal Code. Finally, it points out that the legislator decided to specifically punish attempt and for crimes in the domain of so-called bargain crime, with a prescribed prison sentence of up to one year, with a number of offenses with a prescribed prison sentence of up to three years, which indicates that the legislative solution that is necessary to incriminate special cases when the attempt of a crime must be punished, even if they are beyond the reach of the general rule the criminality of attempts.

In recent years, cultural geographers have begun to scrutinize the relationships between the 'ordinary' and the 'extraordinary'. These studies assert that the ordinary and extraordinary are not fixed and discrete, but rather, mutable and connected. The main goal of this article is to explore how landscape can combine the ordinary and the extraordinary by reflecting on my participation in the 2017 Summer Lectures Crop Circle Conference in Devizes, England, and drawing on Jean-François Lyotard's work, Discourse, Figure (1971). My argument is that crop circles and the conference participants' research practices landscape the ordinary and extraordinary by magnifying disruptive yet alluring rifts (écarts) between textual acts of reading and visual acts of seeing. I illustrate how such rifts, which Lyotard aligns with 'figural space' (l'espace figurai), occur on and off the conference site as follows: first, through an awkward slowness demanded by drawing crop circles in a sacred geometry workshop; second, as a result of the opaque thickness of the local countryside wherein researchers struggled to locate crop circles in fields and navigate country lanes; and third, in the operations of desire in group consciousness workshops that propelled disagreements over how to access the sacred. As it is known, in terms of appeal, several assumptions, whether intrinsic or extrinsic, must be fulfilled in order for the appeal, as a rule, to be analyzed. Although there are several common requirements inherent in Ordinary and Extraordinary Appeal "Lato Sensu" (Special Appeal, Review Appeal, Extraordinary Appeal in a Strict Direction, etc.), including common admissibility requirements among the latter, this article will bring the peculiarities that make it possible to interpose, exclusively, the Special Appeal, with its specific characteristics and, exclusively, the Extraordinary Appeal in Strict Sense, with its peculiarities of admissibility, both stamped in our Federal Constitution of 1988. Although the principles of Primacy by Judgment on the merits and the Cooperation Principle, which were written in the CPC of 2015, have influenced the struggle against "Defensive Jurisprudence", the article tries to clarify that the Exceptional Appeals cannot be confused with appeals sent to a third instance, not being a wide possibility of interposition. In contrast to the scenario depicted by Carl Schmitt, contemporary theory has contradicted the "thesis of differentiation" between aesthetics and "the political." Critical theorists claimed aesthetic analysis' relevance for grasping aspects of the political realm. And political thought took an "aesthetic turn." Hannah Arendt and Jacques Rancière have been influential figures in this turn. Their thought offers a clear response to the challenges to the aesthetico-political Schmitt poses. To approach Arendt and Rancière's responses, this essay proceeds in three parts. The first section analyses Arendt's reading of the connection between aesthetics and politics. Focusing on a major shift in her perspective on judgement, I argue that her account is influenced by the ungrounded character of politics. The second section thematises the role that the relationship of aesthetics and politics has in Rancière's work. I claim that his writings might be read as a challenge to Arendt's attempt to "stabilise" politics by distinguishing it from the social question. Finally, the third section explicitly contrasts Arendt and Rancière's accounts of the aesthetic-political. I conclude by arguing that their projects are crucial resources for formulating a critical theory that should resist the exceptionalist temptation to conceive "the political" as an incontestable nature. Leo Strauss's critical engagement with Martin Heidegger's thought is widely recognized. Central to Strauss's depiction of Heidegger's intellectual and political failures is the latter's disdain for political philosophy. For Strauss, in fact, Heidegger overlooked important inquiry into the good political order insofar as he replaced political philosophy with a belief in Dasein's finitude as key to attaining a virtuous life. However, Strauss's unfavorable rendition of Heidegger's mortalism, the article explains, neglects esoteric maneuvers--imbued with political inflections--advanced by the author of Sein und Zeit. By analyzing Heidegger's esotericism as well as his search for the permanence of the secret and inscrutable, the article shows how Strauss disregards Heideggerian sigetics (Sigetik) when foregrounding what he views as Heidegger's disdain for political philosophy. With the transformation of the disaster management system in Hungary also the alerting system has changed fundamentally. The alerting and deployment nowadays is based totally on informational systems. The deployment of special-purpose trucks in disaster management interventions is often wrongly associated with the words "special" or "extraordinary" by the public, media or even within the disaster management system. In order to clarify the situation, it is important to define the circumstances when specia-lpurpose trucks are deployed in a mission. The authors start with the description of ordinary fire interventions, requiring less forces and resources, and gradually arrives to the interventions with special-purpose trucks, exemplified with case studies. Furthermore, the factors that classify alerts as rescue situations requiring special interventions are also analysed. The paper highlights how the effectiveness of rescue activities can be increased starting with the alert and continued by the intervention. The paper offers insight into the alarm levels and special rescue activities and describes which events demand specialpurpose units at the site. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
