PURPOSE: Although interventions can increase advance care planning (ACP) engagement, it remains unclear which interventions to choose in primary care settings. This study compares a passive intervention (mailed materials) to an interactive intervention (group visits) on participant ACP engagement and experiences. METHODS: We used mixed methods to examine ACP engagement at baseline and six months following two ACP interventions. Eligible patients were randomized to receive mailed materials or participate in two ACP group visits. We administered the 4-item ACP Engagement survey (n = 110) and conducted interviews (n = 23). We compared mean scores and percent change in ACP engagement, analyzed interviews with directed content analysis to understand participants ACP experiences, and integrated the findings based on mailed materials or group visits intervention. RESULTS: All participants demonstrated increased ACP engagement scores. Background: Annually, 27 million Americans visit a dental professional but not a physician. Dental professionals must recognize that they are members of their patients' primary care teams. Continuing education must then prepare them to appropriately serve their specific communities. Objectives: The objective of this paper was to describe the implementation of an evidence-based model to train dental professionals on how to respond to community-level health needs. The paper details crucial partnerships and provides evidence and key considerations for replicating the curriculum to improve population health. Methods: The Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) model was used in one state where dental health care use is challenging for persons living rural, eligible for Medicaid, aging, and those who are American Indian. This formative evaluation knowledge assessments, data on participants' changes in clinical care practice, web analytics, and artifact review to assess effective implementation strategies and necessary community partnerships. Conclusions: Successful implementation of the curriculum required active participation and partnership with state provider associations, the office of Medicaid, the state Board of Dental Licensure, and others. Without engaged partners, the curriculum would not have been community relevant, nor would it have had case presentation from local providers. In a state with only 427 practicing dentists, live attendance ranged between 9 and 22 dental team members, with between 11 and 91 views of the recorded sessions. Using the evidence-based ECHO model, which requires community health partnerships, is a cost-effective, and accessible, method to offering community specific education for dental providers across a large geographic region. Background: Discontinuity between health care delivery systems and community-based organizations is a significant barrier to improving population health. Objective: To describe the facilitators and barriers experienced by a health system–community partnership 15 months after implementation. Methods: Coalition members who led committees within the coalition or had active, sustained participation in coalition activities were invited to participate. Qualitative interviews used a semi-structured interview guide that elicited information on coalition functioning. A content analysis used inductive and deductive codes which were reviewed using a consensus process. Final themes centered on factors that facilitated or impeded the coalition's success in supporting community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lessons Learned: Coalition stakeholder perspectives identified several critical factors: defined governance, a culture of trust that accelerates learning, reliable resources, and a health-care anchor organization committed to shared investment. Introduction: Septorhinoplasty aims to enhance nasal function and appearance. This common but complex procedure has demonstrated advancements with both open and endonasal approaches. The selection of sutures can impact patient comfort and scar outcomes, presenting both advantages and disadvantages. Aim: This study was conducted to compare the cosmetic outcomes of the use of absorbable polyglactin 910 (PG) (Vicryl Rapide 5/0; Ethicon Inc.) and nonabsorbable polypropylene (PP) (Prolene 5/0; Ethicon Inc.) in open septorhinoplasty in terms of surgical scarring. Methods: The sample of this prospective, randomized, single-blind study consisted of 42 patients who underwent open septorhinoplasty. The patients were randomized into the vicryl rapide (n = 16) and prolene (n = 26) suture groups. The groups were comparatively evaluated by two surgeons in terms of surgical scarring, pigmentation, level difference, indentation, and general appearance based on patient photographs taken in the 2nd week, 6th weeks and 12th week post-op. Results: The mean age of the vicryl rapide and prolene groups was 26.9 ±5.7 years and 24.6 ±3.9 years, respectively. There was no significant difference between the groups in any of the parameters investigated within the scope of the study in postoperative week 2, 6, and 12 (P > 0.05). On the other hand, intragroup analyses revealed that suture scar significantly decreased in the vicryl rapide group in the 6th and 12th weeks compared to the 2nd week (P < 0.05), while no significant difference was observed in the prolene group in the suture scars in week 6 and 12 compared to week 2 (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Inverted V trans-columellar incisions sutured with rapidly absorbable suture material resulted in significantly less suture discomfort and did not significantly increase the risk of postoperative infection compared to nonabsorbable suture material. Background Internationally, Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU) ambulances have changed pre-hospital acute stroke care delivery. MSU clinical and cost-effectiveness studies are emerging, but little is known about important factors for achieving sustainability of this innovative model of care.Methods Mixed-methods study from the Melbourne MSU (operational since November 2017) process evaluation. Participant purposive sampling included clinical, operational and executive/management representatives from Ambulance Victoria (AV) (emergency medical service provider), the MSU clinical team, and receiving hospitals. Sustainability was defined as ongoing MSU operations, including MSU workforce and future model considerations. Theoretically-based on-line survey with Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), Self Determination Theory (SDT, Intrinsic Motivation), and open-text questions targeting barriers and benefits was administered (June-September 2019). Individual/group interviews were conducted, eliciting improvement suggestions and requirements for ongoing use. Descriptive and regression analyses (quantitative data) and directed content and thematic analysis (open text and interview data) were conducted.Results There were 135 surveys completed. Identifying that the MSU was beneficial to daily work (β = 0.61), not experiencing pressure/tension about working on the MSU (β = 0.17) and thinking they did well working within the team model (β = 0.17) were significantly associated with wanting to continue working within the MSU model [R2 = 0.76; F(15, 60) = 12.76, P < .001]. Experiences varied between those on the MSU team and those working with the MSU. Advantages were identified for patients (better, faster care) and clinicians (interdisciplinary learning). Disadvantages included challenges integrating into established systems, and establishing working relationships. Themes identified from 35 interviews were MSU team composition, MSU vehicle design and layout, personnel recruitment and rostering, communication improvements between organisations, telemedicine options, MSU operations and dispatch specificity.Conclusion Important factors affecting the sustainability of the MSU model of stroke care emerged. A cohesive team approach, with identifiable benefits and good communication between participating organisations is important for clinical and operational sustainability.

Aim To organize a cross-cultural adaptation study and analyze the reproducibility and test-retest reliability of a Brazilian version of the Toddler Sensory Profile 2 (TSP2Br) for children aged 7-35 months. Methods The English language version of the profile was translated and culturally adapted into Brazilian Portuguese, administered to 168 caregivers of toddlers aged 7-35 months, and then re-administered to a portion of the sample (39 caregivers; 23%) for 7-14 days for test-retest reliability. The internal consistency and test-retest reliability was analyzed using the Cronbach's alpha and kappa coefficient, respectively. As it is a norm-referenced standardized assessment, the cut-off scores used were 1.0 and 2.0 standard deviations above and below the mean for each group of items established as the preliminary cut-off scores for the Brazilian children. Results The TSP2Br showed good internal consistency (>0.70) when measured on the total scale; however, when it was analyzed for sensory areas, five to seven areas presented alpha values <.70. By quadrants, alpha was <.70, for all items. The test-retest values fell into the category of near-perfect agreement (.89-.97). The preliminary cut-off points of the Brazilian scores were distinct from those of the Americans. Conclusions The TSP2Br showed preliminary reliability and validity in the identification of sensory processing problems in Brazilian children aged 7--35 months; however, it would be necessary to increase the sample size to generalize our findings to the general Brazilian population. Social Prescribing Schemes are formal Social Prescribing of health assets by Primary Health Care teams in coordination and follow-up of patients with providers. The emerging evidence suggests that this service can improve people’s health and well-being, create value and provide sustainability for the healthcare system. However, some evaluations note that the current evidence regarding social prescribing is insufficient and needs further investigation. The EvaLRA project aims to elaborate an evaluation model of Social Prescribing Schemes in Primary Health Care based on a set of structure, process, and outcomes indicators. Methods In the region of Aragon, the Community Health Care Strategy aims to promote the development of social prescription schemes in Primary Health Care teams. This study is divided into two stages. Stage 1: identification of primary health care teams that implement social prescribing schemes and establish a first set of indicators to evaluate social prescribing using qualitative consensus techniques with experts. Stage 2 evaluation of the relevance, feasibility and sensitivity of selected indicators after 6 and 12 months in primary health care teams. The results will provide a set of indicators considering structure, process and outcomes for social prescribing schemes. Discussion Current evaluations of the application of social prescribing schemes use different criteria and indicators. A set of agreed indicators and its piloting in primary health care teams will provide a tool to evaluate the implementation of social prescription schemes. In addition, the scorecard created could be of interest to other health systems in order to assess the service and improve its information system, deployment and safety.

However, because SRs are complicated and often boring to read, the busy or reluctant reader may make do with the abstract. When, as it has been shown, many authors overstate efficacy or understate harm in their abstracts, not consulting the underlying article could be misleading. This means that the prudent reader must have the ability to identify the ‘tender points’ of SRs to avoid falling for ‘spin’. To this end we briefly review the method of SRs and ways to relatively quickly determine trustworthiness.

BACKGROUND: Care coordination is a key strategy used to improve health outcomes and efficiency, yet there are limited examples in dentistry. A large dental accountable care organization piloted care coordination by retraining existing administrative staff to coordinate the care of high-risk patients. Following the pilots success, a formal dental care advocate (DCA) role was integrated system-wide. The goal of this new role is to improve care, patient engagement, and health outcomes while integrating staff into the clinical care team. We aim to describe the process of DCA role implementation and assess staff and clinician perceptions about the role pre- and post-implementation. METHODS: Guided by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research, semi-structured interviews with clinical and operational administrative staff and observation at the company-wide training session were combined with pre- and post-implementation electronic surveys. Descriptive statistics and mean scores were tested for significance between each survey sample (t-tests), and qualitative data were thematically analyzed. RESULTS: With preliminary evidence from the pilot and strong executive support, a dedicated leadership team executed a stepwise rollout of the DCA role over 6 months. Success was facilitated by an organizational culture of frequent interventions deployed rapidly through a centralized system, along with supportive buy-in from managerial teams and high staff acceptance and enthusiasm for the DCA role before implementation. Following implementation, significant changes in attitudes and beliefs about the role were measured, though managers held stronger positive impressions than DCAs. DCAs reported high confidence in new skills and dental knowledge post-implementation, including motivational interviewing and the ability to confidently answer patients questions about their oral health. Overall, the fast-paced implementation of this new role was well received, although consistent and significant differences in mean attitudes between managers and DCAs indicate more work to fine-tune the role is needed. CONCLUSIONS: Successful implementation of the new DCA role was facilitated by a strong organizational commitment to team-based dentistry and positive impressions of care coordination among staff and managers. Upskilling existing administrative staff with the necessary training to manage some high-risk patient needs is one method that can be used to implement care coordination efforts in dentistry.

Objective: To evaluate tertiary drug information databases in terms of scope, consistency of content, and completeness of COVID-19 drug information. Methods: Five electronic drug information databases: Clinical Pharmacology, Lexi-Drugs, AHFS DI (American Hospital Formulary Service Drug Information), eFacts and Comparisons, and Micromedex In-Depth Answers, were evaluated in this cross-sectional evaluation study, with data gathered from October 2021 through February 2022. Two study investigators independently extracted data (parallel extraction) from each resource. Descriptive statistics were primarily used to evaluate scope (i.e., whether the resource addresses use of the medication for treatment or prevention of COVID-19) and completeness of content (i.e., whether full information is provided related to the use of the medication for treatment or prevention of COVID-19) based on a 10-point scale. To analyze consistency among resources for scope, the Fleiss multi-rater kappa was used. To analyze consistency among resources for type of recommendation (i.e., in favor, insufficient evidence, against), a two-way mixed effects intraclass coefficient was calculated. Results: A total of 46 drug monographs, including 3 vaccination monographs, were evaluated. Use of the agents for treatment of COVID-19 was most frequently addressed in Lexi-Drugs (73.9%), followed by eFacts and Comparisons (71.7%), and Micromedex (54.3%). The highest overall median completeness score was held by AHFS DI followed by Micromedex, and Clinical Pharmacology. Purpose: The aim of this research is to assess the Qom University website using information architecture indicators to determine the website's status and conduct a qualitative review. Regularly reviewing and evaluating websites for their structural and content aspects, and then identifying their strengths and weaknesses, will provide a suitable strategy for policy and decision making. Method: This research utilized a survey method to investigate the Qom University website, using the evaluation checklist optimized by Sediqi (1400) in June 1402. In this study, four sub-systems of website organization -- tagging, navigation, and search -- were evaluated based on three fundamental aspects of information architecture: context, user, and content. The evaluation list included two parts: descriptive questions and yes-or-no questions, designed to assess the presence or absence of the investigated characteristics. Finally, the checklist was prepared by the researcher based on the indicators and evaluation criteria, presented in the form of tables, and completed. Findings: The analysis of these lists revealed that Qom University's website achieved 22 out of 37 points in the information organization section, 30 out of 57 points in the labeling section, 42 out of 78 points in the navigation section, and 5 out of 78 points in the search section. He has obtained a total of 46. Therefore, compared to the ideal state, the website under study scored 64% in the organization section, 45% in the tagging section, 81% in the navigation section, and 10% in the search field. Good at organization and navigation, but very poor at search. Conclusion: Websites are an effective tool for communication between organizations and their audiences. This research aimed to evaluate the Qom University website and to identify its strengths and weaknesses. Based on the research findings, the organization system of the website is in good condition. However, the weaknesses of the university website's organizational plan are primarily related to its structure. Specifically, it lacks an alphabetical organization plan and does not utilize an audience-oriented or social organization plan, as indicated by the organizational chart. While the website navigation system indicates the current page, it does not clearly display all the levels of navigation that the user has traversed. The website's main navigation system must be integrated with the local system. The website search system must be implemented. In addition, integrating a recommender system into the website search system is one method that can be utilized to enhance the performance of the search system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Mindfulness based interventions (MBIs) have potential to support wellbeing in workplaces and have attracted a great deal of attention from researchers and Human Resources Practitioners. This paper reviews some of the evidence for their effectiveness and limitations. While MBIs may help with some physical and mental health challenges, they are more likely to improve self-reported than objectively measured health indicators, and it is not yet clear how well positive outcomes persist over time. Effectiveness seems to depend on whether, and how much, participants engage with the training and continue to use the mindfulness practices that are introduced. Positive outcomes may be smaller and less lasting than expected, and some adverse effects have been reported. The diversity of MBIs available in terms of duration, method of delivery and content means HR practitioners have many options to explore but makes evaluation and comparisons difficult. Abstract Objectives Little direction exists on how to effectively implement palliative care for patients with COPD. In the COMPASSION study, we developed, executed, and evaluated a multifaceted implementation strategy to improve the uptake of region-tailored palliative care intervention components into routine COPD care. We evaluated the implementation strategy and assessed the implementation process, barriers, and facilitators. Methods A mixed methods process evaluation was performed. Primary and secondary healthcare providers in four hospital regions in the Netherlands were trained. Patients identified during hospitalisation for an acute exacerbation received palliative care and were followed for a year. Various sources were used: process data, questionnaires including the End-of-life Professional Caregiver Survey (EPCS), medical records, monitoring meetings, and interviews. The Consolidated Framework of Implementation Research (CFIR) was used to categorize implementation determinants. Results The training sessions with roleplay were positively evaluated and increased professionals’ self-efficacy in providing palliative care statistically significantly. Of 98 patients identified, 44 (44.9%) received one or more palliative care conversations at the outpatient clinic. Having those conversations was highly valued by healthcare providers because it led to clarity and peace of mind for the patient and higher job satisfaction. Coordination and continuity remained suboptimal. Most important barriers to implementation were time constraints, the COVID-19 pandemic, and barriers related to transmural and interdisciplinary collaboration. Facilitators were the systematic screening of patients for palliative care needs, adapting to the patient’s readiness, conducting palliative care conversations with a pulmonologist and a COPD nurse together, and meeting regularly with a small team led by a dedicated implementation leader. Conclusions Providing integrated palliative care for patients with COPD is highly valued by healthcare providers but remains challenging. Our findings will guide future implementation efforts. Future research should focus on how to optimize transmural and interdisciplinary collaboration. Trial registration The COMPASSION study is registered in the Netherlands Trial Register (NTR): NL7644. In order to justify the investments made in research in the field of sports medicine, the outcomes and impacts of these investments should be assessed. The purpose of this study was to investigate the status and impact of sports medicine studies on the production and development of knowledge. In this descriptive study bibliometric and scientometric methods were used on 1145 scientific productions of sports medicine indexed in the Web of Science database. Data were analyzed through Excel Software, and cooperation maps were drawn using VOSviewer Software. According to the findings, the ratio of citations to the articles on the scientific productions of sports medicine was 23.17, which is higher than the clinical medicine area (6.8). The ratio of citations to the authors was 5.46% and 52 articles (4.54%) of the articles appeared without citations. The average impact factor of journals publishing papers was 3.9. Most of the articles were published with the collaboration of five authors. The results of the present study, based on a selected model and a combination of indicators of the UK’s and Canadian Capital Return frameworks (from the production and development dimension), generally highlighted the validity and effectiveness of all indicators, including activity, quality, and development. The results revealed the most significant impact of the number and quality of each of the indicators in sports medicine in this area.

We study whether an e-messaging program rooted on behavioral economics insights and administered on top of a parenting workshop helps improve parental investment and commitment. Treated families received messages thrice a week for 24 weeks. The messages were designed to help parents reorient their attention towards positive parenting goals, simplify parental tasks, and reinforce positive identities. Using an RCT on 24 early childhood centers in Uruguay, we find incremental effects over the workshop on the frequency of parental involvement and parenting quality. Effects range around 0.3 standard deviations and are larger for families experiencing more negative shocks and lower negative identity at baseline, suggesting the program triggered the right channels. PurposeTo validate SHOMRI gradings in preoperative hip magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with intra-arthroscopic evaluation of intraarticular hip abnormalities.MethodsPreoperative non-arthrographic 3.0-T MRIs of 40 hips in 39 patients (1 patient with bilateral hip surgery) with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) syndrome (mean age, 34.7 years ± 9.0; n = 16 females), refractory to conservative measures, that underwent hip arthroscopy were retrospectively assessed by two radiologists for chondrolabral abnormalities and compared with intra-arthroscopic findings as the standard of reference. Arthroscopically accessible regions were compared with the corresponding SHOMRI subregions and assessed for the presence and grade of cartilaginous pathologies in the acetabulum and femoral head. The acetabular labrum was assessed for the presence or absence of labral tears. For the statistical analysis sensitivity and specificity as well as intraclass correlation (ICC) for interobserver agreement were calculated.ResultsRegarding chondral abnormalities, 58.8% of the surgical cases showed chondral defects. SHOMRI scoring showed a sensitivity of 95.7% and specificity of 84.8% in detecting cartilage lesions. Moreover, all cases with full-thickness defects (n = 9) were identified correctly, and in n = 6 cases (out of n = 36 with partial-thickness defects) the defective cartilage was identified but the actual depth overestimated. Labral tears were present in all cases and the MR readers identified 92.5% correctly. ICC showed a good interobserver agreement with 86.3% (95% CI 80.0, 90.6%) CONCLUSION: Using arthroscopic correlation, SHOMRI grading of the hip proves to be a reliable and precise method to assess chondrolabral hip joint abnormalities.Key points• Assessment of hip abnormalities using MRI with surgical correlation. • Comparing surgery and MRI by creating a hybrid anatomic map that covers both modalities. • Non-arthrographic use of 3.0-T MRI provides detailed information on cartilage and labral abnormalities in hip joints.

Facilitators were the systematic screening of patients for palliative care needs, adapting to the patient's readiness, conducting palliative care conversations with a pulmonologist and a COPD nurse together, and meeting regularly with a small team led by a dedicated implementation leader. Conclusions: Providing integrated palliative care for patients with COPD is highly valued by healthcare providers but remains challenging. Our findings will guide future implementation efforts. Objective: To investigate the academic use of artificial intelligence (AI) in nursing. Background: A bibliometric analysis combined with the VOSviewer software quantification method has been utilized for a literature analysis. In recent years, this approach has attracted the interest of scholars in various research fields. Thus far, there is no publication using bibliometric analysis combined with the VOSviewer software to analyse the applications of AI in nursing. Method: A bibliometric analysis methodology was used to search for relevant articles published between 1984 and March 2022. Six databases, Embase, Scopus, PubMed, CINAHL, WoS and MEDLINE, were included to identify relevant studies, and data such as the year of publication, journals, country, institutional source, field and keywords were analysed. Results: Most relevant articles were published from institutions in the United States. The League of European Research Universities has published most research studies that use AI and nursing. Scholars have mainly focused on nursing, medical informatics, computer science AI, healthcare sciences services and physics particles fields. Commonly used keywords were machine learning, care, AI, natural language processing, prediction and nurse. Conclusion: Research articles were mainly published in Nurse Education Today. Research topics such as AI‐assisted medical recording and medical decision making were also identified. According to this study, AI in nursing has the potential to attract more attention from researchers and nursing managers. Additional high‐quality research beyond the scope of medical education, as well as on cross‐domain collaboration, is warranted to explore the acceptability and effective implementation of AI technologies. Implications for Nursing Management: This study provides scholars and nursing managers with structured information regarding the use of AI in nursing based on scientific and technological developments across different fields and institutions. Purpose: The aim of this research is to assess the Qom University website using information architecture indicators to determine the website's status and conduct a qualitative review. Regularly reviewing and evaluating websites for their structural and content aspects, and then identifying their strengths and weaknesses, will provide a suitable strategy for policy and decision making. Method: This research utilized a survey method to investigate the Qom University website, using the evaluation checklist optimized by Sediqi (1400) in June 1402. In this study, foursub-systems of website organization — tagging, navigation, and search — were evaluated based on three fundamental aspects of information architecture: context, user, and content. The evaluation list included two parts: descriptive questions and yes-or-no questions, designed to assess the presence or absence of the investigated characteristics. Finally, the checklist was prepared by the researcher based on the indicators and evaluation criteria, presented in the form of tables, and completed. Findings: The analysis of these lists revealed that Qom University's website achieved 22 out of 37 points in the information organization section, 30 out of 57 points in the labeling section, 42 out of 78 points in the navigation section, and 5 out of 78 points in the search section. He has obtained a total of 46. Therefore, compared to the ideal state, the website under study scored 64% in the organization section, 45% in the tagging section, 81% in the navigation section, and 10% in the search field. Good at organization and navigation, but very poor at search. Conclusion: Websites are an effective tool for communication between organizations and their audiences. This research aimed to evaluate the Qom University website and to identify its strengths and weaknesses. Based on the research findings, the organization system of the website is in good condition. However, the weaknesses of the university website's organizational plan are primarily related to its structure. Specifically, it lacks an alphabetical organization plan and does not utilize an audience-oriented or social organization plan, as indicated by the organizational chart. While the website navigation system indicates the current page, it does not clearly display all the levels of navigation that the user has traversed. The website's main navigation system must be integrated with the local system. The website search system must be implemented. In addition, integrating a recommender system into the website search system is one method that can be utilized to enhance the performance of the search system.

Objective: Identifying the status of Iranian digital library software in terms of the use of various content management and user portlets.Methodology: This is an applied research done as a heuristic survey. The research was conducted to evaluate the capabilities of various portlets in the field of digital library management in two general areas of content management (collection process management, content production management, classification management, documentation management, loading management, content indexing management, link management and news management) and user management (user management, staff management and user security management) are used in digital library software. Statistical population of the study consists of five Digital Library Softwares Pars Azarsa, Simorgh, Tebyan, and Parwan Farakavash produced by five major library software companies in Iran (Pars Azarakhsh, Nosa, Tebyan, kavash, and Parvanpajooh). Their software products and know-how have matured over time in tandem with technological advancements in their field, with critical inputs from field experts, associated companies, organizations and institutions. They, in the recent ten years, have undertaken many landmark projects that include database and archive automation for their clients. Their knowledge base and software products are unsurpassed in the field of digital data management for libraries and document centers, and this includes the full spectrum of related requirements. All their software products are web based, integrated and user friendly Some of their major clients include the governmental institutions, private companies, national libraries and universities. The needed data was collected using a researcher-made check-list. Different types of descriptive statistical techniques in collaboration with Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, Shapiro-Wilk test and Kruskal-Wallis H test were used for analyzing the data.Findings: In terms of content management, Simorgh had the best performance. The statistical population had the best performance in the "category management" section of the content management field and the weakest performance in the "link management" section. In the field of user management, "Azarsa" had the best performance. The statistical community had the weakest performance in this area in the "forum management" section. Test of research hypotheses showed that there is no significant difference between the digital library software in the use of content management portals and user management.Conclusion: The performance of the statistical population was evaluated for 114 management portlets. The statistical population in the field of content management according to the check-list had an average performance of 80 percent and the average performance of the statistical population in the field of user management was below 63 percent, among which even "Farakavash" and "Parvan" had a performance below 50 percent. Therefore, in general comparison, it was concluded that the statistical community in the field of content management has performed better than user management.

In addition to online questionnaires, many medical schools use supplemental evaluation tools such as focus groups to evaluate their courses. Although some benefits of using focus groups in program evaluation have been described, it is unknown whether these in-person data collection methods provide sufficient additional information beyond online evaluations to justify them. In this study we analyze recommendations gathered from student evaluation team (SET) focus group meetings and analyzed whether these items were captured in open-ended comments within the online evaluations. Our results indicate that online evaluations captured only 49% of the recommendations identified via SETs. Surveys to course directors identified that 74% of the recommendations exclusively identified via the SETs were implemented within their courses. Our results indicate that SET meetings can provide information not easily captured in online evaluations and that these recommendations result in actual course changes.

Orally dissolving films are one of the prevailing oral dosage form as these drug delivery systems release the active pharmaceutical ingredient quickly in oral cavity as soon as it comes in contact with the saliva. Background: In the context of the growth of pharmacovigilance (PV) among developing countries, this systematic review aims to synthesise current research evaluating developing countries' PV systems' performance. Methods: EMBASE, MEDLINE, CINAHL Plus and Web of Science were searched for peer-reviewed studies published in English between 2012 and 2021. Reference lists of included studies were screened. Included studies were quality assessed using Hawker et al.'s nine-item checklist; data were extracted using the WHO PV indicators checklist. Scores were assigned to each group of indicators and used to compare countries' PV performance. Results: Twenty-one unique studies from 51 countries were included. Of a total possible quality score of 36, most studies were rated medium (n = 7 studies) or high (n = 14 studies). Studies obtained an average score of 17.2 out of a possible 63 of the WHO PV indicators. PV system performance in all 51 countries was low (14.86/63; range: 0–26). Higher average scores were obtained in the 'Core' (9.27/27) compared to 'Complementary' (5.59/36) indicators. Overall performance for 'Process' and 'Outcome' indicators was lower than that of 'Structural'. Conclusion: This first systematic review of studies evaluating PV performance in developing countries provides an in-depth understanding of factors affecting PV system performance. Background: The National Council on Aging's Aging Mastery Program (AMP) aims to help older adults implement health behavior and lifestyle changes to promote healthy aging. The purpose of this community-partnered evaluation was to assess the effectiveness of the implementation in Los Angeles, and understand participant outcomes beyond the findings of a randomized waitlist controlled trial. Objectives: The purpose of this qualitative process evaluation was to deepen our understanding of participant outcomes and potential site-level implementation issues with the randomized waitlist controlled trial, as participant and site lead satisfaction ratings were very high. Methods: After the intervention was completed, interviews were conducted with site directors to understand potential challenges or barriers in the implementation of AMP, participant feedback were reviewed for common themes, and focus groups were conducted to elicit additional insight feedback. Results: Analysis of interviews with site directors revealed that the study design was characterized by its complexity, but that the overall AMP program was very compatible with the sites' goals and met the needs of the participants. The participants reported greater interest in nutrition and healthy eating, the importance of exercise and 'preparing' for important life decisions, which were not captured through the measures used in the waitlist controlled trial. Conclusions: Future evaluations of the AMP should continue the use of mixed methods evaluation designs in order to understand both the quantitative and qualitative outcomes of the program, and consider including measures of other constructs, such as socialization, that have been identified by the participants. Objective To quantitatively evaluate motor function of lower extremities in children with spastic cerebral palsy by using spatiotemporal and kinematic parameters of three-dimensional gait analysis, compare the differences in spatiotemporal and kinematic parameters of gait analysis with different motor function grades and provide quantitative method for severity assessment of spastic cerebral palsy. Methods According to the gross motor function classification system (GMFCS), 90 children aged 6-12 years with spastic cerebral palsy of grades Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ were selected and divided into 3 groups (n=30 each).And 30 normal children were selected as controls. The spatiotemporal and kinematic parameters of children with cerebral palsy and normal children were collected by three-dimensional gait analysis system and the differences analyzed by ANOVA and multiple comparisons between multi-sample means. Results After statistical analysis, step length/width and stride speed/frequency/length in spatiotemporal parameters of gait analysis declined statistically significantly in children with cerebral palsy as compared with normal children (P<0.05).And the values further decreased with higher GMFCS grade. While gait cycle and double support time became prolonged in children with cerebral palsy (P<0.05) and further elongated with higher GMFCS grade; Motion angle of hip, knee and ankle joints in kinematic parameters in children with cerebral palsy were statistically significantly lower than those in normal children (P<0.05).Maximum flexion angle of hip, maximum/minimum flexion angles of knee and maximum dorsiflexion angle of ankle dropped markedly while minimum flexion angle of hip became obviously elevated (P<0.05).With higher GMFCS grade, motion angle of joint gradually declined while maximum flexion angle of hip, maximum/minimum flexion angle of knee and maximum dorsiflexion angle of ankle gradually dropped and minimum flexion angle of hip gradually spiked. No statistically significant difference existed in maximum plantar flexion angle of ankle (P>0.05).Conclusion The spatiotemporal and kinematic parameters in gait analysis can quantitatively evaluate the motor function of lower extremity in children with spastic cerebral palsy. Correlated with a wider gap of gait parameters between spastic cerebral palsy and normal children, higher GMFCS grade indicates worse motor function of lower extremities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In order to justify the investments made in research in the field of sports medicine, the outcomes and impacts of these investments should be assessed. The purpose of this study was to investigate the status and impact of sports medicine studies on the production and development of knowledge. In this descriptive study bibliometric and scientometric methods were used on 1145 scientific productions of sports medicine indexed in the Web of Science database. Data were analyzed through Excel Software, and cooperation maps were drawn using VOSviewer Software. According to the findings, the ratio of citations to the articles on the scientific productions of sports medicine was 23.17, which is higher than the clinical medicine area (6.8). The ratio of citations to the authors was 5.46% and 52 articles (4.54%) of the articles appeared without citations. The average impact factor of journals publishing papers was 3.9. Most of the articles were published with the collaboration of five authors. The results of the present study, based on a selected model and a combination of indicators of the UK's and Canadian Capital Return frameworks (from the production and development dimension), generally highlighted the validity and effectiveness of all indicators, including activity, quality, and development. As the largest group of health professionals, nurses have a tremendous potential to help curb the tobacco epidemic. However, studies conducted across a range of global settings continue to indicate that both practicing nurses and nursing student have limited knowledge, skills and confidence needed to implement evidence-based tobacco cessation interventions. A contributing factor is the limited inclusion of tobacco control content in nursing curricula. Additionally, there is limited understanding of nurse educators' knowledge and perceptions about teaching tobacco dependence content. This paper presents the Loma Linda University School of Nursing's concurrent experience with both faculty development and curriculum redesign in the area of tobacco dependence prevention and treatment. An internal survey was administered at baseline and at 2-year follow-up to assess faculty's knowledge, perceptions and practices related to teaching tobacco dependence content and skills (n = 42). Faculty and curriculum development strategies and resources utilized, evaluation findings and subsequent lessons learned are described. The findings have implications for nursing programs seeking to enhance their curricula and commitment to ensuring that their graduates are prepared to provide evidence-based tobacco cessation interventions with each patient they encounter.

Objectives: to identify in the scientific literature how the assessment of knowledge of the nursing team about pressure injuries is conducted, which instruments are used, and their psychometric properties. Methods: integrative review conducted with 44 scientific articles. The search was conducted between October and December 2021 in the following data sources: BDENF, Cinahl, Lilacs, MEDLINE, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science, using the strategy in Portuguese: ("lesão por pressão" OR "úlcera por pressão" OR "úlcera de decúbito" OR "escara de decúbito") AND enfermagem AND conhecimento, and, in English, ("pressure ulcer" OR "bed sore" OR "bed sores" OR bedsore OR bedsores) AND nursing AND knowledge. Articles published between 2012 and November 2021 were included, with text available in full, in open access, in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, resulting from original research related to care in the hospital area. Results: The most used knowledge assessment instrument was the P-PUKT and its versions, used in 50% of the studies, followed by the PUKAT and its versions. Three studies also used instruments constructed and validated by the authors, five qualitative studies, and four studies used non-validated instruments. Conclusion: Valid instruments to assess knowledge are essential to identify possible failures in patient care. Heterogeneity in the samples and in the classification criteria of the participants' level of knowledge made it impossible to compare the results obtained in the studies, constituting a limitation.

Abstract Background Care coordination is a key strategy used to improve health outcomes and efficiency, yet there are limited examples in dentistry. A large dental accountable care organization piloted care coordination by retraining existing administrative staff to coordinate the care of high-risk patients. Following the pilot’s success, a formal “dental care advocate” (DCA) role was integrated system-wide. The goal of this new role is to improve care, patient engagement, and health outcomes while integrating staff into the clinical care team. We aim to describe the process of DCA role implementation and assess staff and clinician perceptions about the role pre- and post-implementation. Methods Guided by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research, semi-structured interviews with clinical and operational administrative staff and observation at the company-wide training session were combined with pre- and post-implementation electronic surveys. Descriptive statistics and mean scores were tested for significance between each survey sample (t-tests), and qualitative data were thematically analyzed. Results With preliminary evidence from the pilot and strong executive support, a dedicated leadership team executed a stepwise rollout of the DCA role over 6 months. Success was facilitated by an organizational culture of frequent interventions deployed rapidly through a centralized system, along with supportive buy-in from managerial teams and high staff acceptance and enthusiasm for the DCA role before implementation. Following implementation, significant changes in attitudes and beliefs about the role were measured, though managers held stronger positive impressions than DCAs. DCAs reported high confidence in new skills and dental knowledge post-implementation, including motivational interviewing and the ability to confidently answer patients’ questions about their oral health. Overall, the fast-paced implementation of this new role was well received, although consistent and significant differences in mean attitudes between managers and DCAs indicate more work to fine-tune the role is needed. Conclusions Successful implementation of the new DCA role was facilitated by a strong organizational commitment to team-based dentistry and positive impressions of care coordination among staff and managers. Upskilling existing administrative staff with the necessary training to manage some high-risk patient needs is one method that can be used to implement care coordination efforts in dentistry.

Objective To describe the characteristics and registration status of clinical trials of new drugs for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and to provide a reference for the design and implementation of clinical trials of new drugs for NASH. Methods The U. S. Clinical Trials Database, China Clinical Trial Registry, and Center for Drug Evaluation, National Medical Products Administration, were searched for clinical trials of new drug registration and interventional studies with NASH as the indication published up to August 6, 2021, using NASH in English and Chinese characters as the keywords, and liver cirrhosis was excluded. Two researchers independently searched and screened the articles to extract relevant information. Results A total of 196 clinical trials of new drug registration or interventional studies for NASH were included, among which there were 174 trials registered abroad and 22 trials registered in China, and the number of registrations tended to increase year by year. The numbers of phase I, phase I/II (including lb/ Ila), phase II, phase II/ III, and phase III clinical trials were 45 (23.0%), 8 (4.1 %), 112(57.1 %), 4 (2.0%), and 19 (9.7%), respectively. The main drug types included farnesoid X receptors, fibroblast growth factors, peroxisome proliferator - activated receptor agonists, and glucagon - like peptide - 1, with numbers of 16 (8.16%), 14 (7.14%), 11 (5.61 %), and 13 (6.63 %), respectively. The clinical trials of innovative drugs for NASH initiated by the sponsors in European and American regions accounted for the highest proportion, and there was a gradual increase in the number of clinical trials of innovative drugs in China in recent years, with a similar distribution of single - center and multicenter clinical trials. As for the trials with NASH patients as subjects, the numbers of trials with pathology, imaging, and clinical diagnosis as the main inclusion criteria were 125, 66, and 42, respectively. Phase I clinical trials used safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic parameters as the main assessment indices, while phase II and phase III clinical trials often used safety and efficacy as the main assessment indices. The number of clinical trials for the registration of innovative drugs for NASH was relatively low but kept increasing in China, and there were fewer clinical trials of innovative traditional Chinese medicine drugs compared with innovative chemical drugs. Conclusion There is a significant increase in the registration of international clinical trials of innovative drugs for NASH, and most of these trials are in the early phases, with large differences in inclusion criteria and assessment indices, a lack of unified evaluation indices, and relatively few trials with new designs. There are fewer clinical trials of innovative drugs for NASH in China than in European and American countries, and the number of such trials is gradually increasing in China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the current status of handoffs, perception of patient safety culture, and degrees of handoff evaluation in small and medium-sized hospitals and identified factors that make a difference in handoff evaluation. Methods: This is a descriptive study. 425 nurses who work at small and medium-sized hospitals in South Korea were included in our study. They completed a set of self-reporting questionnaires that evaluated demographic data, handoff-related characteristics, perception of patient safety culture, and handoff evaluation. Results: Results showed that the overall score of awareness of a patient safety culture was 3.65 ± 0.45, the level was moderate. The score of handoff evaluation was 5.24 ± 0.85. Most nurses experienced errors in handoff and most nurses had no guidelines and checklist in the ward. Handoff evaluation differed significantly according to the level of education, work patterns, duration of hospital employment, handoff method, degree of satisfaction with the current handoff method, errors occurring at the time of handoff, handoff guidelines, and appropriateness of handoff education time (P

This paper provides results of an investigation into the research literature of intercultural mediation and how intercultural mediation has been implemented in Europe. To this end, a systematic quantitative literature review was conducted, which identified 77 conceptual and empirical manuscripts for this study. The review showed that little agreement exists on precisely what intercultural mediation is and how it should be structured and supported as a profession. The empirical works identified in this study can be characterized as ad hoc in nature, capitalizing on circumstances. The result is a patchwork of concepts and studies that collectively do not provide sufficient support or foundation for the use of intercultural mediation. In order to move the field forward, we argue that an immediate next step should be the development of a well-thought, systematic research program, grounded in the existing literature. A strong recommendation found in the literature is the use of evaluation to illustrate the value of intercultural mediation. Evaluation can provide data that could help those in authority make defensible decisions about policy support for intercultural mediation. Finally, considering the current situation in European schools, we propose that in the field of mediation the intercultural approach be implemented.

Abstract Objectives To analyze the functional outcomes in patients submitted to videoarthroscopic surgical treatment for compleat rotator cuff tears of the shoulder, with a minimum follow-up of 10 years. Methods A total of 63 patients (63 shoulders) underwent videoarthroscopic surgical repair for compleat rotator cuff tears with a minimum follow-up of 10 years. The postoperative functional outcomes of these patients were evaluated using the Constant and University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) scores. Results The functional evaluation revealed mean UCLA and Constant scores of 26 and 93 points, respectively. Ninety-one percent of the subjects had satisfactory Constant scores, whereas 62% presented satisfactory UCLA scores. Conclusion The arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff complete tear was effective even in the long term (minimum follow-up period of 10 years). The age of the patients before surgery, size of the lesion, the degree of fatty infiltration, and evaluation of muscle trophism are important predictors of prognosis.

Background: Approximately 57 million physician appointments annually in the United Kingdom are for minor ailments. These illnesses could be self-cared for, which would potentially lower patients' anxiety, increase their confidence, and be more convenient. In a randomized controlled trial of the Internet Dr digital intervention, patients with access to the intervention had fewer consultations for respiratory tract infections (RTIs). Having established intervention efficacy, further examination of trial data is required to understand how the intervention works. Objective: This paper reports a process evaluation of Internet Dr usage by the intervention group. The evaluation aims to demonstrate how meaningful usage metrics (ie, interactions that are specific and relevant to the intervention) can be derived from the theoretical principles underlying the intervention, then applied to examine whether these interactions are effective in supporting self-care for RTIs, for whom, and at what time. Methods: The Internet Dr trial recorded patients' characteristics and usage data over 24 weeks. At follow-up, users reported whether their levels of enablement to cope with their illness changed over the trial period. The Medical Research Council process evaluation guidance and checklists from the framework for Analyzing and Measuring Usage and Engagement Data were applied to structure research questions examining associations between usage and enablement. Results: Viewing pages containing advice on caring for RTIs were identified as a meaningful metric for measuring intervention usage. Almost half of the users (616/1491, 42.31%) viewed at least one advice page, with most people (478/616, 77.6%) accessing them when they initially enrolled in the study. Users who viewed an advice page reported increased enablement to cope with their illness as a result of having participated in the study compared with users who did not (mean 2.12, SD 2.92 vs mean 1.65, SD 3.10; mean difference 0.469, 95% CI 0.082-0.856). The target population was users who had visited their general practitioners for an RTI in the year before the trial, and analyses revealed that this group was more likely to access advice pages (odds ratio 1.35, 95% CI 1.159-1.571; P<.001). Conclusions: The process evaluation identifies viewing advice pages as associated with increased enablement to self-care, even when accessed in the absence of a RTI, meaning that dissemination activities need not be restricted to targeting users who are ill. The intervention was effective at reaching the target population of users who had previously consulted their general practitioners. However, attrition before reaching advice pages was high, highlighting the necessity of prioritizing access during the design phase. Background: The aim is to evaluate the effect of hemolysis on the quantitative chemiluminescent immunoassay results of 10 analytes and to provide a basis for formulating specific sample rejection criteria and reviewing report results. Methods: Hemolysis based on the clinical hemolysis index, hemolysis 1+, 2+, and 3+ samples and matched normal samples were collected. The quantitative chemiluminescent immunoassay results of 10 analytes from the two samples (hemolysis and normal) were determined and differences between the results obtained from samples with different degrees of hemolysis and those obtained from normal samples were evaluated. Results: A total of 34 pairs of samples were collected, including 10 pairs of 1+ hemolysis samples, 10 pairs of 2+ hemolysis samples, and 14 pairs of 3+ hemolysis samples. The quantitative chemiluminescence immunoassay detection results for the 10 analytes showed that regardless of the degree of hemolysis, the differences in alpha fetoprotein (AFP), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen (CA19-9), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle- stimulating hormone (FSH), and ferritin (FER) between the hemolysis and normal samples were all lower than the total allowable error (TEa) based on biological variation; there were no statistically significant differences between the samples. However, the results for insulin (INS) began to decrease significantly at a hemolytic index of 1+, folic acid (FOL) showed an increase at a hemolytic index of 2+, and there was a significant difference at a hemolytic index of 3+. Conclusions: This research identified the analytes that are susceptible to hemolysis interference in chemiluminescent immunoassays. The influence of hemolysis on hemolytic clinical laboratory tests was closely related to the assay system used; thus, laboratories should evaluate the effect of hemolysis on their own analysis systems and define assay-specific hemolysis warning indices. Patients who underwent ARCR in our hospital were included and randomly assigned to the intervention or control group (27 women, 21 men, mean age= 57.06 years old). Patients in the intervention group received educational booklets, and an evaluation was also obtained after they finished reading. Patients’ understanding of the booklet was determined by asking patients to re-enact training presented in the booklet. Then, a therapist blinded to allocations would personally demonstrate training to patients until patients fully understood the protocol. For the control group, the same therapist coached patients until the whole protocol was clearly understood. The coaching time for patients in both groups was recorded.Results: Out of 48 patients, 24 (50%) were randomly assigned to the intervention group, and 21 (87.50%) completed their questionnaire. Out of these 21 patients, 20 (95.24%) rated the booklet as “excellent and easy to read”, and 17 (80.95%) felt that the booklet was helpful. The re-enaction accuracy was for strengthening training and specific training (71.43% and 61.90%, respectively). As compared to the control group, the time of coaching for the patients to fully master the protocol in the intervention group was significantly less (P< 0.01).Conclusion: Patients highly applauded this booklet, and they cherished the information and support it contained. Nevertheless, the re-enaction accuracy was not high, suggesting that the high level of acceptance does not guarantee full understanding of information sent to patients.Keywords: rotator cuff injuries, arthroscopy, rehabilitation, pamphlets, evaluation studies
