Abstract

Introduction: Fear of the unknown causes anxiety in paediatric patients. The use of tell-show-do, along with audiovisual distraction, promotes positive behaviour and reduces anxiety. The use of a Dental Operating Microscope (DOM) as a visual distraction aid provides better cooperation in paediatric patients. Aim: To evaluate the effects of a DOM on anxiety, behaviour, and treatment time during a restorative procedure in paediatric dental patients. Materials and Methods: The present study was a parallel-arm, randomised clinical trial conducted at IGIDS, Puducherry, India, in 2022, over a period of four months. Healthy five to seven-year-old children on their first dental visit were selected (n=90) and divided into two groups using simple randomisation. Group A: Restoration of teeth without a DOM, and group B: Restoration of teeth using a DOM. Anxiety and behaviour were measured as soon as the child entered the operatory (T1), after tell-show-do for the procedure (T2), after cavity preparation (T3), and after completion of the restoration (T4). Caries removal efficacy and treatment duration were also assessed. The data obtained were statistically analysed using the Chi-square test and independent sample t-test (p<0.05). Results: Out of the 90 children who participated in the study, 47 (52%) were girls, and 43 (47%) were boys. There was a decrease in anxiety and improved patient behaviour during cavity preparation (T3) and after completion of restoration (T4) in group B (p<0.001). The operator also reported higher visual (71.10%) and tactile (95.60%) scores in caries removal, with a shorter treatment duration in groups where DOM was used (p<0.001). Conclusion: The use of DOM reduced anxiety levels and improved the compliance of children during dental procedures. Abstract

Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) have been used in many applications and powerful distributed systems. But the performance of WMSNs is suffering from the occurrence of energy holes. To improve the performance of the network and packet delivery ratio, a Voronoi-Ant colony based Routing (VoR-Ant-R) algorithm is proposed for WMSNs to discover the energy holes and finds the shortest path from the source to destination in the WMSNs even though faces some obstacles. The WMSNs are constructed using the Voronoi structure to bypass energy holes. After bypassing the energy hole in the path; an ACO is introduced to select a neighborhood node for data forwarding. This ACO constructs the shortest optimized path to enhance the performance of the WMSNs. The proposed work is experimentally compared with other algorithms such as IEEABR, EEABR, SC, and BEES. The simulation results show that VoR-Ant-R can increase energy efficiency, success rate, reduces energy consumption, and latency.

Abstract

Introduction: Autism is a neuro-developmental disorder leading to multiple problems including academic difficulties and impaired skills. Information processing is abnormal in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their central nervous system (CNS) is either over or under aroused and reaction time (RT) is a useful marker to study the ability of CNS. Subjects and Methods: 72 ASD children were divided equally into control group (Group I) who did not undergo yoga training and yoga group (Group II) who received 60 minutes’ yoga training, five days a week, for 12 weeks. Components of yoga protocol included jathis, kriyas, asanas, pranayamas and yogic relaxation.(Table 1). Auditory RT (ART) and Visual RT (VRT) were recorded before and after 12 weeks' yoga training using RT apparatus. Data was assessed for normality using GraphPad InStat version 3.06 for Windows 95. 49. Efficient Pairing-Free Identity-Based Signcryption Scheme for Cloud-Assisted IoT

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become a part of our everyday life. Due to limited storage and computational capabilities, data collected by IoT devices outsource to cloud servers. Although cloud servers provide many benefits, confidentiality and authenticity are the major issues. Signcryption is a cryptographic technique to address the above issues. Several identity-based signcryption schemes are proposed; however, these schemes create heavy computation and communication overhead because of bilinear pairings. This paper proposes an Efficient Pairing-Free Identity-based Signcryption (EPFIBSC) scheme based on Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), which reduces computation and communication overhead. The EPFIBSC scheme's security is proven under Elliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm Problem (ECDLP). The scheme also meets the security requirements such as confidentiality, authenticity, and unforgeability. In performance analysis, the authors compare the scheme with some of the existing schemes; the comparison shows that this scheme is more efficient in computation and communication costs.

Abstract

Automatic fake news detection is a challenging problem in deception detection. While evaluating the performance of deep learning-based models, if all the models are giving higher accuracy on a test dataset, it will make it harder to validate the performance of the deep learning models under consideration. So, we will need a complex problem to validate the performance of a deep learning model. LIAR is one such complex, much resent, labeled benchmark dataset which is publicly available for doing research on fake news detection to model statistical and machine learning approaches to combating fake news. In this work, a novel fake news detection system is implemented using Deep Neural Network models such as CNN, LSTM, BiLSTM, and the performance of their attention mechanism is evaluated by analyzing their performance in terms of Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F1-score with training, validation and test datasets of LIAR.
