This study aims to explore the essence of the prayer of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu'alaihi wa sallam in the Qur'an by analyzing various interpretations from scholars of related verses. This research is a qualitative study that uses a library research approach, also known as literature review. The thematic interpretation method (Maudu'i) with the Science of interpretation approach is used as a foundation for analyzing. Data were collected through direct recitation and study of Qur'anic verses as well as secondary literature relevant to the research topic. Data analysis is carried out descriptively to provide a clear picture of the object of research based on the collected data. The findings of this study show that the Prophet Muhammad's prayers in the Qur'an reflect a sincere form of worship to Allah as well as an expression of his total obedience to all His commandments, both to ask for His protection and to seek His pleasure. The Prophet's prayer begins with praise to God, is done without despair, with patience and firm hope, and is based on a deep sense of devotion to Him. Background: Semaglutide, a glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonist, has demonstrated potential beneficial effects in metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Aims: To describe the trial design and baseline characteristics of the 'Effect of Semaglutide in Subjects with Non‐cirrhotic Non‐alcoholic Steatohepatitis' (ESSENCE) trial (NCT04822181). Methods: ESSENCE is a two‐part, phase 3, randomised, multicentre trial evaluating the effect of subcutaneous semaglutide 2.4 mg in participants with biopsy‐proven MASH and fibrosis stage 2 or 3. The primary objective of Part 1 is to demonstrate that semaglutide improves liver histology compared with placebo. The two primary endpoints are: resolution of steatohepatitis and no worsening of liver fibrosis, and improvement in liver fibrosis and no worsening of steatohepatitis. The Part 2 objective is based on clinical outcomes. The current work reports baseline characteristics of the first 800 randomised participants which includes demographics, laboratory parameters, liver histology, non‐invasive tests and presence of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) cardiometabolic criteria. Results: Of 800 participants, 250 (31.3%) had fibrosis stage 2 and 550 (68.8%) had fibrosis stage 3. In the overall population, mean (standard deviation [SD]) age was 56 (11.6) years, 57.1% were female, mean (SD) body mass index was 34.6 (7.2) kg/m2, 55.5% had type 2 diabetes and > 99% had at least one MASLD cardiometabolic criterion according to the published definition. Conclusion: The ESSENCE baseline population includes participants with clinically significant fibrosis stages 2 and 3. Although MASLD cardiometabolic criteria were not a requirement for study enrolment, almost all participants (> 99%) had at least one MASLD cardiometabolic criterion. The scientific article analyzes in detail the theoretical foundations of social protection of public service workers, which is a key element of ensuring the efficiency and stability of public administration. The author presents a wide range of approaches of scientists regarding the interpretation of the content of social protection and public service, which allows us to identify the main conceptual approaches and their evolution in the scientific literature. A comprehensive study of the constituent elements that determine the specifics of social protection of public service workers was conducted. In particular, such aspects as legal guarantees, material support, ensuring health and safety at the workplace, social insurance, pensions, professional development and other forms of support provided to public service employees to ensure their well-being and effective performance of official duties were considered. The author made a general theoretical characterization of the essence of this legal category, which includes an analysis of its structural elements and their interrelationship. The constituent elements of the essence of social protection of public service workers are disclosed and characterized. An analysis of the legislative acts that guarantee the protection of the rights of public service workers, including their right to fair wages, decent working conditions and social benefits, has been carried out. Mechanisms of material assistance, including wages, bonuses, additional payments and other types of financial support, were studied. An analysis of the social insurance system, which provides medical assistance, insurance in case of illness, accident or disability, was carried out. In addition to theoretical analysis, the article contains practical recommendations for improving the system of social protection of public service employees in the context of modern challenges and reforms taking place in public administration. The importance of creating an effective social protection system for increasing the motivation and productivity of employees, which, in turn, contributes to the general improvement of the functioning of the state apparatus, is highlighted. The scientific article provides a comprehensive analysis of social protection of public service workers, combining theoretical approaches and practical recommendations, which makes it an important contribution to the development of legal scienc e and practice in this area. Despite the rising popularity of peer‐to‐peer sharing platforms, very little empirical research has documented how consumers respond to the opportunity of renting goods to one another. This work delineates how metaphysical (besides physical) contagion beliefs, particularly when self‐identification with possessions is high, demotivates people from renting out their possessions in P2P platforms. We claim and empirically test that (1) others' physical contact hinders willingness to share a possession due to an anticipated threat to its essence and that (2) the possession's emotional link with the owner's identity amplifies this effect. Online and laboratory experiments provide evidence for these effects in isolation from physical contamination concerns. This research extends the research on peer‐to‐peer sharing by demonstrating detrimental effects of beliefs in essence threat and a possible mitigation tactic. Introduction: The government has made efforts to ensure that existing business competition legal regulations can accommodate the broad legal needs of society, but in reality, in everyday life, legal problems are still often encountered. One of the fundamental legal issues related to business competition in Indonesia is regarding government procurement of goods/services. There are many practices of bid rigging in the process of procuring government goods/services to determine the winner in a tender. Tender conspiracy cases often occur in Indonesia, therefore everything related to tender conspiracy must be carefully scrutinized. Purposes of the Research: The aim of this research is to analyze and discover the nature of the prohibition on bid rigging from a business competition law perspective. Methods of the Research: The research method used is normative juridical. Descriptive and argumentative techniques must be used in carrying out the analysis. Results of the Research: The essence of the prohibition on bid rigging from a business competition law perspective can actually be observed in Article 22 of Law no. 5/1999, Per. KPPU No. 2/2010, and Constitutional Court Decision Number 85/PUU-XIV/2016. This prohibition aims to not give rise to unhealthy business competition, so that the aim of holding tenders can be achieved properly to provide equal opportunities to business actors in offering competitive prices and quality, which in the end will result in the lowest price with the best quality.

The sense of security constitutes one of the fundamental human needs. Due to the crucial role that security plays in the contemporary world and its impact on states, societies, and individuals, it is often a subject of analysis in scientific literature. The article focuses on the definition of security and its evolution in the context of the individual and society. The security of modern humans is a complex, dynamic phenomenon that goes beyond traditional areas of threats, requiring redefinition in the context of changing social and technological realities. Within this research, the views of representatives from various scientific disciplines are presented, and a new definition of the concept of security is proposed. The author suggests their own definition of security as a state of mind, dependent on the satisfaction of needs in various dimensions (material and immaterial) and in relation to the individual or collective. The dynamic nature of security and its connection to the individual's perception of threats and situations is emphasized.

The relevance of the issue under study in this article is due to the rapid development of social relations, which leads to the constant emergence of new types of transactions, their formalization and regulation. A transaction is a basic category for the regulation of civil legal relations, including such a type of transaction such as a fraudulent transaction. A comprehensive study of the institute of fraudulent transactions in Ukraine will be a significant basis for further improvement of the current not only civil legislation, but also administrative legislation, and will unify the judicial practice of applying legislation on fraudulent transactions. The following methods were used in the study of scientific cognition, such as: systemic and structural; comparative; and the method of analysis. Based on the analysis of the current legislation of Ukraine in the field of application of fraudulent transactions the author emphasizes that there is no clear definition of a fraudulent transaction, its features, and the consequences of its conclusion. However, the absence of a regulatory definition of a fraudulent transaction in the current legislation of Ukraine causes conflicts in court decisions, as evidenced by the analysis of court practice, including that of the Supreme Court of Ukraine analysis of court practice, including that of the Supreme Court. This legislative gap should be regulated, since the legal regulation of fraudulent transactions in Ukraine plays an important role in the administration of justice and protection of participants whose interests are violated by such transactions. The author reviews of the key categories of this scientific article, including “legal regulation” “fraudulence”, ‘fraudulent transaction’. The author proposes to define a fraudulent transaction as to understand the action of a debtor or a party to a legal relationship which exists at the time of or has a high probability of becoming a party to a legal relationship, which can be expressed by both active and passive legal behavior aimed at avoidance of undesirable consequences for the debtor or a person (probable party to the legal relationship) Consequences aimed at avoiding civil liability, non-occurrence of undesirable civil status, or obtaining a benefit in an unfair manner. The author concludes that it is necessary to improve the legal regulation of a fraudulent transaction in Ukraine in the context of defining its essence, features essential terms of the contract, and legal consequences of its application.

This paper presents a classically theistic cosmological model of consciousness that aligns with Thomistic principles. This discussion begins with a focus on the transcendent identity of God the Father existing in eternity, establishing His simple essence as the pure act of being self-conscious, which defines the mind of God as containing a single holy infinite memory; Himself. However, this model suggests His eternal mind also contains a complex infinite collection of unique self-memories all composed of His immutable essence, framed as the origin of differentiated immaterial information. Guided by St Thomas Aquinas' formulation of hylomorphism, creation is understood as the ongoing process of God re-actualizing His self-memories from an immaterial to material form, requiring God to unfold prime matter as His first creation from nothing but His own pre-existent essence. The production of prime matter, as pure potentiality, allows the Father to breathe His Holy Spirit that contains the Word (foreknowledge of all possibilities / information) to manifest creation. This model suggests that formless prime matter can be described as a zero-dimensional point singularity of infinitely dense pure energy that is imbued with the self-consciousness of the Holy Spirit, which extends into a one-dimensional string that can then fragment into different physical entities. The immanent existence of God's holy infinite memory at the incorporeal centre of all created forms further implies that the universe is structured as an unfolding non-local holographic fractal. Formulating the beginning of creation in this way allows us to see possible connections between Christian doctrine, the primacy of information, string theory and other scientific principles that pose new ways in understanding the immaterial nature of the raw fabric of physical reality. Objections against this model, in relation to its alignment with classical theism, are addressed towards the end of this paper. Fundamentally, fresh perspectives are presented on the nature and origin of consciousness that may shed new light in uncovering the persistent deficiencies in our understanding of consciousness itself. Many philosophers today accept the broadly Aristotelian view that one can explain de re necessary properties by invoking essence. These 'Neo-Aristotelian essentialists' hold that a property F is an essential property of x iff specifying F gives a correct answer to the Aristotelian 'what is x?' question. We are sceptical. According to neo-Aristotelian essentialists, essential properties are not themselves de re modal properties, but they are supposed to explain why things have their de re modal properties. Neo-Aristotelian essentialists accept the following principle (ENL): If x is essentially F, then x is necessarily F. We ask: Why? We first clarify the neo-Aristotelian notion of essence via the Aristotelian "what is x?" question. So far as we can see, the only way to do this is by appeal to the notion of a substance sortal. We then consider the notion of a substance sortal itself, and argue that there is nothing in that notion that even so much as suggests that ENL is true. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Amie Thomasson has argued against descriptivism about modality, which starts from the idea that modal statements serve to track features of the world and that these features explain the truth-values of modal claims. Thomasson objects that descriptivists cannot satisfactorily explain how modal features fit into the naturalistic picture of the world and that they cannot account for our apparent capacity to acquire modal knowledge. On Thomasson's alternative to descriptivism (called 'normativism'), the function of modal claims is to facilitate communication about certain semantic rules. I argue that it is not obvious that the semantic rules that Thomasson takes to be expressed by modal truths really exist. Moreover, I defend a specific version of descriptivism – essentialism – against Thomasson's objections. Essential truths play a central role in the best explanations of many facts about the world. That includes the explanations delivered by our best scientific theories once these theories are correctly interpreted philosophically. In this way, essences earn their keep in a naturalistic view of the world. Furthermore, the abductive methods by which we confirm our explanatory theories also support certain theses about essences. It is common among metaphysicians to talk about objects having persistence conditions or, equivalently, about the persistence conditions of objects. However, as frequent as these statements are, as rare are the attempts to clarify their meaning in a systematic manner. In the present paper, I try to provide such an explanation by considering in detail the question of what it is for an object to have persistence conditions. The central results are the following. First: that an object has (in contrast to merely fulfil) certain conditions of Fness means that it lies in the essence of this object that these conditions hold—that is, that it is part of this object’s essence that it is F, if it is F, in virtue of the fulfilment of these very conditions. Second: persistence is the staying in existence of an already existing object, which is why an object’s persistence conditions are just that: conditions of the staying in existence of this very object. On the emerging view, the persistence conditions of objects exhibit an interesting parallel to the conditions of satisfaction of intentional states or entities. Despite recent essentialist approaches to Kant’s laws of nature, it is unclear whether Kant’s critical philosophy is compatible with core tenets of essentialism. In this paper, I first reconstruct Kant’s position by identifying the key metaphysical and epistemological features of his notion of ‘nature’ or ‘essence’. Two theses about natures can be found in the literature, namely that they are noumenal in character (noumenal thesis) and that they guide scientific investigation as regulative ideas of reason (regulative thesis). I argue that Kant’s notion of nature does not entail the noumenal thesis and, based on his model of causal explanation, I propose a novel, phenomenal thesis, that allows for a better understanding of the function of natures as regulative ideas. In the last part of the paper, I show that Kant’s ‘essentialism’ is a genuine form of essentialism committed to de re modality, although it differs in several respects from major contemporary essentialist accounts. I conclude by suggesting that Kant’s essentialism (if appropriately updated) can be relevant to the contemporary debate, which has so far been dominated by Humean and Aristotelian proposals. Two assumptions play an important role in the study of portraiture 1) Studies of the portrait are usually based on the idea that the face that is shown in the portrait is also a portrait in its own right, namely, a portrait of the soul of the portrayed person. 2) The main function of portraiture is to portray or even capture the unique, personal identity of a person; that identity is an essential and stable entity. In this paper, both assumptions will be challenged. As a result, portrait and face should not be conflated and arguments on the face have a quite different status than those on portraits. Concerning the second assumption, surrealist portraits and contemporary portraiture suggest the opposite of an essential personality that does not change over time: when portraits are remade after some time, different personalities present themselves. This does not mean that a unique personality or identity does not exist per se, but that portraiture cannot be used to make this claim.

The book’s contribution to the science of tafsir is emphasized by underlining that it aims to provide essential details for understanding and addressing the subject and comparing classical and modern understandings of tafsir. In addition, the scientific value of tafsir and its relationship with other Islamic sciences is examined. The work primarily focuses on identifying and analyzing the discussions regarding the nature of tafsir within Islamic thought.

This study explores the essence and dimensions of modern humanity from the perspective of the Quran, focusing on the views of Muhammad Iqbal and Plato. In modern society, there is a prevailing notion that religion and science are irreconcilable entities, complicating the understanding of their relationship. This study aims to analyze the views of Iqbal and Plato on the essence and dimensions of modern humanity. The research method employed is a literature review, utilizing primary data from Iqbal's “The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam” and Plato's “The Republic.” Secondary data include books, journals, essays, and other relevant sources. The findings indicate that Iqbal perceives the essence of humanity in its spiritual entity, complemented by intelligence, belief, and morality, while Plato identifies three essential elements of humanity: spirit, reason (intellect), and desire (appetite).

Sleep disorders are widespread. Inhaled aromatherapy has shown advantages over medication in treating insomnia. Daylily (Hemerocallis fulva) has been found to positively affect sleep either by ingestion or inhalation, but there is a lack of research on the sleep aid effect of its inhalation route. At present, the floral scent characteristics of daylily are not obvious, and the extraction rate of essential oil is low. Based on the above problems, this study developed daylily essence which replicates the natural aroma of plants and investigated the effect of inhaling daylily essence aroma on sleep activity by using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and electroencephalogram (EEG). According to PSQI results, inhaling the aroma of daylily essence improved participants' subjective sleep quality. The difference between men and women was statistically significant (p <.05). The slow‐wave sleep activity of EEG in the experimental group was significantly stronger than that in the control group (p <.01). In addition, the frontal and central regions were more responsive to aroma stimuli (p <.05). The results of this study show that the aroma of daylily can promote the subjective and objective sleep quality of healthy college students, and the use of fragrance intervention is a potential scheme to improve sleep quality and insomnia. At Outlines of Pyrrhonism (PH) 2.227–8, Sextus Empiricus argues that certain entities which his adversaries hold to be one and the same for different individuals are in fact not. This he does by, among other things, considering the truth-value of sentences of which the subject is a common noun, thereby drawing an interesting connection between metaphysics and semantics. In this article, I provide a careful analysis of Sextus' arguments at PH 2.227–8 and explore the origins and limits of such a connection. In particular, I argue that Sextus' argument at PH 2.227 probably reflects a Stoic argument against Aristotelian essences, thereby relying on specifically Stoic doctrines about universals and common nouns, whereas his next argument at PH 2.228 targets accidents. If this is true, it follows that the overall structure of PH 2.227–8 fits well with the typically Aristotelian distinction between essence and accident. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It is inherent to the fundamental right to property that far from being absolute, the owners' rights may be limited in the general interest. As exemplified recently by unprecedented closures of restaurants and other businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, also large-scale and far-reaching limitations are broadly deemed justified. The outer boundary of these limitations appears to be the essence of the right, which may not be impinged upon. Yet, both this very term and its scope are fiercely contested. This article, thus, revisits the "essence" of a fundamental right in the context of the European Convention on Human Rights. Drawing on the example of the right to property under Art 1 of Protocol 1 (P1-1) to the ECHR, this contribution expounds the prevailing approaches to the essence of fundamental rights and highlights the discrepancies between the formally adopted absolute approach to the essence as a purportedly inviolable core and the relative understanding of this concept which sees it as part of the fair-balance test. As the ECtHR case law makes room for virtually any interference with P1-1 including expropriation without any compensation, it will be argued that an untouchable or pre-established essence is not a concept attributable to the right to property under the Convention. It is maintained, however, that the limited scope of the essence is consistent with the underlying principles of the Convention as well as the intrinsic social function of private property. Background: Tianeptine is an antidepressant that acts as an agonist to the mu-opioid receptor and enhances serotonin reuptake. Tianeptine has been legally sold as an antidepressant in some countries but is not approved for any medical use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Tianeptine is not a federally controlled substance, but became a schedule II substance in Tennessee on July 1, 2022. This publication aims to describe the prevalence of tianeptine-involved emergency department visits, fatal overdoses, and substance seizures in Tennessee from 2021 to 2023. Methods: We conducted a study to examine the prevalence of tianeptine-involved emergency department visits and fatal overdoses in Tennessee using data for 2021 to 2023 from the Tennessee Electronic Surveillance System for the Early Notification of Community based Epidemics (ESSENCE) database and the Tennessee State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS). Substance seizure data from National Forensic Laboratory Information System (NFLIS) are included. Results: Our search of ESSENCE, SUDORS, and NFLIS yielded 50 tianeptine-involved emergency department visits, 6 tianeptine-involved fatal overdoses, and 19 tianeptine substance seizures respectively. Demographic information is provided for the emergency department visits and tianeptine-involved fatal overdoses. Discharge diagnosis and clinical symptomology information are provided for the emergency department visits. Conclusion: Emergency department visits and fatal overdoses involving tianeptine have occurred in Tennessee despite tianeptine becoming a schedule II substance. Among emergency department visits, tianeptine use is most commonly associated with gastrointestinal and psychological symptoms. All fatal cases where tianeptine was detected involved other substances, suggesting tianeptine plays a role in polysubstance use.

Abstract Background It is important to detect children with Early Symptomatic Syndromes Eliciting Neurodevelopmental Clinical Examinations (ESSENCE) in order to implement early intervention and support for the child and family. Standardized instruments for assessment in different contexts of behaviour problems, engagement and psychosocial health obtain an objective picture of the preschool child's mental health. Aim To explore and compare parents', preschool teachers' and child health care psychologists' assessment of behaviour, everyday function, engagement, social interaction and psychosocial health in children with ESSENCE symptoms. Method Parents of 152 children (114 boys and 38 girls, 4.5 ± 1 years) with ESSENCE symptoms, 155 preschool teachers and 8 child psychologists participated. Parents and preschool teachers assessed externalizing and internalizing behavioural problems using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), including the SDQ supplement for assessing the impact of behavioral problems on daily function. Preschool teachers also assessed engagement and social interaction using the Children's Engagement Questionnaire (CEQ), and the child psychologists assessed psychosocial health with the Child Psychosocial Health Assessment (LillaLAPS) and template in conversations with parents of children with neurodevelopmental problems. Results Parents', preschool teachers' and child psychologists' assessment of the child's ESSENCE symptoms overall agreed. Both parents and preschool teachers see a strength in the child's social abilities. Differences in mean values show that parents assess more conduct, emotional symptoms and problems in daily life and more social skills, compared to the preschool teachers rating more peer problems. Conclusion It is important to consider different contexts to identify the child's need for support in everyday life. Expanded use of validated screening instruments in clinical practice would promote detection of children not already identified as exhibiting neurodevelopmental problems.

Introduction. The article reveals some methodological aspects of the phenomenological discussion of the personal subject. The dispute is caused by realistic tendencies in phenomenology, according to which the totality of properties of a thing allows us to assert the existence of their ontological basis, which is contained in the essence of the thing. In the case of a human being, such ontological foundation is the soul, which determines the basic characteristics of the personality that exist prior to any constitution. Theoretical analysis. The article argues for the contradictory nature of such concepts by appealing to M. Heidegger’s method of work. Firstly, justification is associated with the absence of obvious givenness of any essence within immanent perception, secondly, ontological categories of the structure of the personal subject are a tribute to the previous philosophical tradition, not its criticism, and thirdly, postulation of the ontological basis of properties continue the naturalistic explanation of natural sciences. Conclusion. A conclusion is made about the closeness of Heidegger’s method of philosophising to the original beginnings of phenomenology, as well as to the requirements of the phenomenology of the spiritual world set out in the second volume of Husserl’s "Ideas". The hypothesis is put forward according to which further study of the personal subject can be continued beyond the framework of substantialist concepts.

Abstract: This paper presents a puzzle about the logic of real definition. I demonstrate that five principles concerning definition—that it is coextensional and irreflexive, that it applies to its cases, that it permits expansion, and that it is itself defined—are logically incompatible. I then explore the advantages and disadvantages of each principle—one of which must be rejected to restore consistency.

The fundamental issues of a knowledge are often answered and explained in the philosophy of that knowledge. The question of the essence of the society is also a question that the philosophy of the social sciences is concerned. Throughout history, many scientists have sought to answer this question, but little has been achieved. Muslim scholars have also sought to explain the essence of society by identifying the relevant words in the Holy Qur'an and identifying the characteristics of the words, but this does not seem to be useful either. This article, while explaining and criticizing the definitions of society from the perspective of Qur'anic thinkers, seeks to find out the definition of society from the perspective of the Holy Qur'an. The Holy Qur'an summarizes the common point which leads to the emergence of society in the word of “Wilayah” and mentions a kind of transcendental relationship between individuals based on faith or infidelity and their related actions, referred to in this study as social guardianship. The present article, which has been documented in a descriptive-analytical and inferential way with an inferential interpretation method, argues that in explaining what society is, the Qur'an first considers the essence of society spiritual and not dependent on geography, tribe, race, and language and secondly, according to the Holy Qur'an, society refers to a set of human beings who together have a social guardianship based on vision and actions consistent with faith or disbelief. What is the explanatory role of 'status-truths' such as essence-truths, necessity-truths and law-truths? A plausible principle, suggested by various authors, is Ground by Status, according to which status truths ground their prejacents. For instance, if it is essential to a that p, then this grounds the fact that p. But Ground by Status faces a forceful objection: it is inconsistent with widely accepted principles regarding the logic of grounding (Glazier in Philos Stud 174(11):2871–2889, 2017a, Synthese 174(198):1409–1424, 2017b; Kappes in Synthese 199(1–2):2575–2595, 2020, Philos Stud 178(4):1267–1284, 2021).
