- Abstract
In Colombia there are no consolidated studies that evidence the existence of prosocial behavior. There are very few indicators that measure how these behaviors can help reduce levels of aggression and violence. What is known from previous studies is that altruistic behaviors seem incompatible with aggression. This article summarizes the results of an investigation that describes the prosocial behaviors of children in the Colombian context. A cross-sectional study was carried out with 587 children between 9 and 12 years of age. The results show high levels of prosocial behavior among girls and significant differences among members of this gender group in almost all of the dimensions that were evaluated. Based on these results, it can be inferred that prosocial behavior represents a very important asset that helps prevent acts of aggression in schools., Na Colômbia, não existem estudos consolidados que mostrem a existência de comportamentos pró-sociais e poucos indicadores que reflitam como esses comportamentos podem influenciar na redução de comportamentos agressivos.

Background: The objective was to evaluate the prevalence of latent trigger points (LTrPs) in lower limb muscles in participants with a high medial longitudinal arch (MLA) of the foot compared to controls. Methods: Participants with a navicular drop test of 4–9 mm were included in the control group; the high MLA group included navicular drop test values of ≤4 mm. The presence of LTrPs was assessed by palpation techniques. The muscles evaluated were medial gastrocnemius (LTrP1), lateral gastrocnemius (LTrP2), soleus (LTrP1), peroneus longus, peroneus brevis, tibialis anterior, extensor digitorum longus, flexor digitorum longus, rectus femoris, vastus medialis (LTrP1 and LTrP2), and the vastus lateralis of the quadriceps (LTrP1 and LTrP2). Results: Thirty-seven participants with high MLA and thirty-seven controls were included in the study. Twenty-nine (78.4%) participants in the high MLA group had at least 1 LTrP, compared to twenty-three (62.2%) in the control group. No statistical difference (p < 0.05) was found in the total number of LTrPs between groups (4.46 ± 3.78 vs. 3.24 ± 3.85). There were more participants (p < 0.05) with LTrPs in the tibialis anterior, extensor digitorum longus, and vastus lateralis (LTrP1 and LTrP2) in the high MLA group than in the control group. Conclusion: Although no differences were found in the number of total LTrPs between groups, the prevalence was statistically significantly higher in the tibialis anterior, extensor digitorum longus, and vastus lateralis of the participants with high MLA of the foot. CAREGIVERS , *STROKE patients , *BEHAVIORISM (Psychology) , *TELEMEDICINE , *MENTAL health , *SERVICES for caregivers - Abstract
Background: There has been an increase in people with disabilities who require continuous care, which often falls to informal carers (ICs). Stroke is one of the conditions where ICs are most needed. Therefore, it is necessary for ICs to improve their caregiving skills and self-care capacity. Telehealth (TH) can facilitate them. The aim of this systematic review is to summarize the evidence of the effects of interventions on ICs of stroke patients. Methods: The search was conducted in Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science, CINALH, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, and APA PsycInfo. Key search terms included "stroke", "informal caregiver" and "telemedicine". Only randomised clinical trials were included. Results: A total of 2031 articles were found in the databases, 476 were screened and 19 clinical trials met the eligibility criteria. Different TH programmes have evaluated many outcomes related to physical and emotional health. The TH tools included phone, videophone, web-based interventions, and social media. The most investigated outcome was depression; although contradictory results were found, the TH may have helped to prevent an increase in depressive symptoms. There were inconsistent results on the caregiving burden and the preparedness of the IC. However, TH has positive effects on the health of the ICs, reducing the number of unhealthy days, anxiety, task difficulty perception, and improving psychological health. Conclusions: TH may be a useful tool to improve the abilities and health of ICs of SS. No adverse effects have been reported. More quality studies evaluating the effects of telemedicine on the ICs of stroke survivors, as well as the most appropriate doses, are needed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present article addresses the development of information competencies from the public library. This comes as a result of an investigation related to the construction of an Information Literacy (Alfin, for its initials in Spanish), a proposal that fits the needs and demands that society has placed on the public library, regarding the qualification of citizens in different competencies to access the information and use it to face problems or daily needs. In consequence, the proposal is a methodological contribution in planning, implementing and assessing this type of programs from the public library. First, there is a theoretical review of concepts related to the development of Alfin, especially in the field of the public library; then, there is a review of the methodology implemented in the investigation, which allowed recognizing the elements that make part of the elaboration of the Alfin Program (context, structure, bases and methodological proposal). Finally, the results of the investigation are related to an information literacy proposal that allows developing competencies in the management of information generated in the public library.

BH. Information needs and information requirements analysis. ,CD. User training, promotion, activities, education. ,CF. Reading and story telling. ,CZ. None of these, but in this section. - Abstract
This article addresses the use of image as a didactic element in the user training processes developed by the public library, specifically in the range between the ages of 5 and 7. In this sense, the research started from two basic concepts: the user training program and its connection to the use of image as a didactic element in a teaching learning space, “the public library”. First of all, the paper proposes a number of conceptual clarify cations and articulation links related to the user training, didactic and image processes; then, an account of the methodology implemented in the development of the research is made, which helped to identify the emerging reality around the practices implemented in the user training programs and the role of image and didactics in teaching learning spaces; and, finally, the outcome of the research is established, in relation to image as didactic element and an articulating axis in the design of user training programs.

While better understanding of these forests is critical for our collective future, until quite recently efforts to measure and monitor them have been largely disconnected. Networking is essential to discover the answers to questions that transcend borders and the horizons of funding agencies. Here we show how a global community is responding to the challenges of tropical ecosystem research with diverse teams measuring forests tree-by-tree in thousands of long-term plots. We review the major scientific discoveries of this work and show how this process is changing tropical forest science. Our core approach involves linking long-term grassroots initiatives with standardized protocols and data management to generate robust scaled-up results. By connecting tropical researchers and elevating their status, our Social Research Network model recognises the key role of the data originator in scientific discovery. Conceived in 1999 with RAINFOR (South America), our permanent plot networks have been adapted to Africa (AfriTRON) and Southeast Asia (T-FORCES) and widely emulated worldwide. Now these multiple initiatives are integrated via ForestPlots.net cyber-infrastructure, linking colleagues from 54 countries across 24 plot networks. Collectively these are transforming understanding of tropical forests and their biospheric role. Together we have discovered how, where and why forest carbon and biodiversity are responding to climate change, and how they feedback on it. This long-term pan-tropical collaboration has revealed a large long-term carbon sink and its trends, as well as making clear which drivers are most important, which forest processes are affected, where they are changing, what the lags are, and the likely future responses of tropical forests as the climate continues to change. By leveraging a remarkably old technology, plot networks are sparking a very modern revolution in tropical forest science. In the future, humanity can benefit greatly by nurturing the grassroots communities now collectively capable of generating unique, long-term understanding of Earth's most precious forests. Citizen mobilizations around the world show the importance of resolving the dilemma between the meaning of individual happiness and subjective well-being and what public policy is capable of offering. The lack of recognition of individual notions about "well-being" raises a conceptual dissonance between the way in which the policy maker conceives said well-being and what citizens expect to receive as beneficiaries of these. The objective of this article is to offer an alternative explanation of this explicit gap in the design and execution of public policy, taking Colombian actors as a reference. The results show that temporality, imaginaries and notions between makers and beneficiaries collide, affecting not only the life cycle of public policies, but also their results and the perception that citizens have of their individual happiness and subjective well-being. - Abstract
Tropical forests are the most diverse and productive ecosystems on Earth. By leveraging a remarkably old technology, plot networks are sparking a very modern revolution in tropical forest sc

- Abstract
Inappropriate posture in children while playing some string instruments can cause back pain and alterations of the spine. To date, there is no research on the effect of exercise on children who play a musical instrument, although it is known that transversus abdominis muscle control through the Pilates method has shown pain reduction and posture improvement in this population. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of the Pilates method combined with therapeutic exercise with respect to therapeutic exercise exclusively in reducing pain and improving postural alignment in children playing string instruments applying a protocol of low dose to increase children’s adherence to training. Methods: A randomized controlled pilot study was designed with two parallel intervention groups. Twenty-five children (10–14 years old) were randomized in two intervention groups: Pilates method with therapeutic exercise (experimental) and therapeutic exercise (control) for 4 weeks (50 min per day, one day per week). Two assessments were performed (before and after treatment) to assess back pain and shoulders and hips alignment using a visual analog scale and the Kinovea program. Results: Statistically significant differences were obtained for pain reduction before (p = 0.04) and after (p = 0.01) playing the instrument in the experimental group. There were no significant changes in alignment improvement in any of the two groups. Conclusion: The application of a low dose of the Pilates method combined with therapeutic exercise could be a beneficial intervention for pain reduction before and after musical practice in children who play string instruments
