Background: Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a disorder associated with genetic and neurological components leading to difficulties in social interaction and communication. According to statistics of WHO, the number of patients diagnosed with ASD is gradually increasing. Most of the current studies focus on clinical diagnosis, data collection and brain images analysis, but do not focus on the diagnosis of ASD based on machine learning. Objective: This study aims to classify ASD data to provide a quick, accessible and easy way to support early diagnosis of ASD. Methods: Three ASD datasets are used for children, adolescences and adults. To classify the ASD data, we used the k-Nearest Neighbours method (kNN), the Support Vector Machine method (SVM) and the Random Forests method (RF). In our experiments, the data was randomly split into training and test sets. The parts of the data were randomly selected 100 times to test the classification methods. Results: The final results were assessed by the average values. It is shown that SVM and RF are effective methods for ASD classification. In particular, the RF method classified the data with an accuracy of 100% for all above datasets. Conclusion: The early diagnosis of ASD is critical. If the number of data samples is large enough, we can achieve a high accuracy for machine learning-based ASD diagnosis. Among three classification methods, RF achieves the best performance for ASD data classification.

In this study, we propound a salt-and-pepper noise (SPN) removal method, i.e. Adaptive Cesáro Mean Filter (ACmF), and provide some of its basic notions. We then apply ACmF to several test images whose noise densities range from 10% to 90%: 15 traditional test images (Baboon, Boat, Bridge, Cameraman, Elaine, Flintstones, Hill, House, Lake, Lena, Living Room, Parrot, Peppers, Pirate, and Plane) and 40 test images, provided in the TESTIMAGES Database. Afterwards, we compare ACmF with the state-of-art methods, such as Adaptive Weighted Mean Filter (AWMF), Different Applied Median Filter (DAMF), and Noise Adaptive Fuzzy Switching Median Filter (NAFSMF). The results by The Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Structural Similarity (SSIM) show that ACmF performs better than the methods mentioned above. Moreover, we also compare the running time data of these algorithms. These results show that ACmF outperforms the methods except for DAMF. We finally discuss the need for further research. Bu çalışmada, bir tuz ve biber gürültü (SPN) kaldırma yöntemi, yani Uyarlamalı Cesáro Ortalama Filtresi (ACmF) öneriyoruz ve bazı temel kavramları veriyoruz. Ardından, ACmF’yi gürültü yoğunluğu %10 ile %90 arasında değişen çeşitli test görüntülerine uyguluyoruz: 15 geleneksel test görüntüsü (Baboon, Boat, Bridge, Cameraman, Elaine, Flintstones, Hill, House, Lake, Lena, Living Room, Parrot, Peppers, Pirate, and Plane) ve TESTIMAGES veri tabanında verilen 40 test görüntüsü. Daha sonra, ACmF'yi Uyarlamalı Ağırlıklı Ortalama Filtresi (AWMF), Farklı Uygulamalı Medyan Filtresi (DAMF) ve Gürültü Uyarlamalı Bulanık Anahtarlama Medyan Filtresi (NAFSMF) gibi gelişmiş yöntemlerle karşılaştırıyoruz. Pik Sinyal Gürültü Oranı (PSNR) ve Yapısal Benzerlik (SSIM) sonuçları, ACmF'nin yukarıda belirtilen yöntemlerden daha iyi performans sergilediğini göstermektedir. Ayrıca, bu algoritmaların çalışma zamanlarını da karşılaştırıyoruz. Bu çalışma süresi sonuçları ACmF'nin DAMF dışındaki yöntemleri geride bıraktığını gösteriyor. Sonunda daha fazla araştırmaya olan ihtiyacı tartışıyoruz.

This paper proposes a new Different Adaptive Modified Riesz Mean Filter (DAMRmF), for high-density salt-and-pepper noise (SPN) removal. DAMRmF operationalizes a pixel weight function and adaptivity condition of Adaptive Median Filter (AMF). In the simulation, the proposed filter is compared with Adaptive Frequency Median Filter (AFMF), Three-Values-Weighted Method (TVWM), Unbiased Weighted Mean Filter (UWMF), Different Applied Median Filter (DAMF), Adaptive Weighted Mean Filter (AWMF), Adaptive Cesáro Mean Filter (ACmF), Adaptive Riesz Mean Filter (ARmF), and Improved Adaptive Weighted Mean Filter (IAWMF) for 20 traditional test images with noise levels from 60% to 90%. The results show that DAMRmF outperforms the state-of-the-art filters in terms of Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Structural Similarity (SSIM) values. Moreover, DAMRmF also performs better than the state-of-the-art filters concerning mean PSNR and SSIM results. Sonuçlar, DAMRmF'nin Tepe Sinyal-Gürültü Oranı (PSNR) ve Yapısal Benzerlik (SSIM) değerleri açısından son teknoloji filtrelerden daha iyi performans sergilediğini göstermektedir. Ayrıca, ortalama PSNR ve SSIM sonuçlarına göre de DAMRmF son teknoloji filtrelerden daha iyi bir performansa sahiptir. Son olarak, gelecek çalışmalar için DAMRmF'yi tartışıyoruz.

Buçalışmada lineer olmayan alçak geçiren bir filtre geliştirilmiştir. Bu yeniyöntem yeni piksel değerine, pencere içerisinde piksellerden yeni bir kümeoluşturarak karar vermektedir. Yöntemin gürültü sonuçları tuz-bibergürültüsünde test edilmiştir. Yöntemi karşılaştırmak için Peak Signal to NoiseRatio (PSNR) ve Structural Similarity (SSIM) ölçütleri kullanılmıştır. Yenigeliştirilen yöntem Median Filtre (MF) ve Adaptive Median Filtre (AMF) ilekarşılaştırılmıştır. Karşılaştırma için 18 adet test görüntüsü kullanılmıştır.Örneğin lena görüntüsü için, tuz-biber gürültü yoğunluğu %30 olduğunda MF veAMF’nin PSNR sonuçları 23.32, 25.22 çıkarken yeni yöntemde 31.29 çıkmıştır. Yenigeliştirilen yöntem 18 adet test görüntüsüne ait tüm PSNR sonuçlarında diğeryöntemlerden daha başarılı olmuştur.

Bu tez çalışmasında görüntü işlemenin en önemli konularından birisi olan gürültü kaldırmada, Tuz-Biber ve Gauss gürültülerini temizlemek için üç yeni yöntem önerilmiştir. Tuz-Biber gürültüsünü kaldırmak için iki, Gauss gürültüsünü kaldırmak için ise bir adet yöntem geliştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarını test etmek için üç adet görüntü veri tabanı seçilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarını değerlendirmek için ise üç adet ölçüt kullanılmıştır. Bu ölçütler; Doruk Sinyal Gürültü Oranı (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio, PSNR), Yapısal Benzerlik (Structural Similarity, SSIM) ve Görüntü İyileştirme Faktörü (Image Enhancement Factor, IEF)'dür. İlk olarak, görüntülerde bulanıklık etkisi yapan medyan filtrenin dezavantajını ortadan kaldırmak için tekrarsız medya filtre isminde yeni bir yöntem geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen yeni yöntem Tuz-Biber gürültüsünde test edilerek kendi benzeri yöntemlere nispetle çok daha başarılı sonuçlar vermiştir. İkinci olarak geliştirilen Tuz-Biber gürültüsünü kaldıran yöntemle, piksellerin tekrar sayılarına bakılarak gürültü kaldırılmış ve yeni bir yaklaşım ortaya koyulmuştur. Tuz-Biber gürültüsü kaldıran bu yöntem, bu gürültüyü kaldırmaktaki en bilinen yöntemlerle karşılaştırılmış ve %50 gürültü yoğunluğuna kadar diğer yöntemlerden daha başarılı sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Son olarak, Gauss gürültüsünü kaldırmak için geliştirilen yöntemle, pencere içerisine giren piksellerin ortalama ve standart dağılımlarına bakılarak gürültü kaldırılmıştır. Geliştirilen bu yöntem, tüm ortalama değerlerinde diğer yöntemlerden daha başarılı olmuştur. Removing noise from images is a challenging issue in image processing and this dissertation delivers three new methods to remove noise from two major forms of noise, Salt-Pepper and Gaussian noise. Two methods were developed to remove the salt-pepper noise, and another method was developed to remove the Gaussian noise. Three image databases were selected to test the results of the study. Three criteria were used to assess the results of the study. These criteria are; Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity (SSIM), and Image Enhancement Factor (IEF). Firstly, a new method, the non-rewritten media filter, was developed to remove the disadvantages of median filtering that affects blurring in images. The new method was tested against Salt-Pepper, giving much more successful results compared to similar methods. Secondly, with the other new method removing the salt-pepper noise, the noise was removed by looking at the number of repetitive pixels and a novel approach was introduced. This method was compared to the most known methods against removing salt-pepper noise and achieved more successful results than the other methods up to 50% noise intensity. Finally, with the method developed to remove the Gaussian noise, noise is removed by looking at the average and standard distributions of the pixels entering the window. And, this method proved to be more successful than other methods in all mean values. 112
