Amaç: Akut koroner sendrom(ACS)’luhastaların elektrokardiyografisinde(ECG) DII derivasyonunda R’ın S’eoranının(RSR), myokard infarktüsü(MI) sonrası oluşan komplikasyonlar, üç damarkoroner arter hastalığı(TVCAD) ve mortalite açısından etkilerinindeğerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Bu retrospektif kesitselkohort çalışmasına, Ocak 2014-Aralık 2017 tarihleri arasında hastanemiz acilservisine(ED) göğüs ağrısı nedeniyle başvuran ve kardiyoloji kliniğineyatırılan ACS’lu 1102 hastanın verileri dahil edildi. Hastalar RSR değerinin1’den küçük olmasına grup 1, RSR değerinin 1’den büyük olmasına grup 2 denildi.Bu gruplar yaş, cinsiyet, tıkalı majör koroner damar(BMCA), Gensini Skoru (GS),MI sonrası oluşan komplikasyonlar, kardiyak troponin I (cTnI), TVCAD ve mortaliteoranları açısından karşılaştırıldı. Bulgular: Her iki cinste de STelevasyonlu MI(STEMI), unstabil angına(UA) ve non-ST elevasyonlu MI(NSTEMI)grup 1’de daha sıktı. Ayrıca iskemik kalp yetmezliği(IHF), ventrikülertaşikardi(VT), akut akciğer ödemi(APE), kardiyak effüzyon(CE) ve tamponat(CT)yine grup 1’de ön plandaydı. Oysa atriyoventriküler(AV) blok, TVCAD ve mortalite grup 2’de daha sıktı. ErkeklerdeSTEMI, UA, NSTEMI, dal bloğu(BB), komplikasyonlar, TVCAD, BMCA ve mortalitefazla bulundu. Atrial fibfilasyon (AF)NSTEMI’da sıkken, BB akut inferior MI’da (AIMI) fazlaydı. IHF, VT, APE akutanterior MI(AAMI) sık tespit edildi. AV blok ise AIMI daha fazlaydı. TVCAD vemortalite AAMI’da daha sıktı. BMCA AIMI’da sağ koroner arter(RCA) iken, AAMI’dacircumflex arter(Cx=L1) ve left anterior descending(LAD=L2)’i en sık tıkanandamarlardı. UA ve NSTEMI’da en sık L2 tıkandığı tespit edildi.Sonuç: ACS’da RSR düzeyleriMI sonrası gelişen komplikasyonlar, TVCAD ve mortalite açısından prediktifyardımcı bir değer olabilir., Objective: The aim of thisstudy was to evaluate the significance of R/S ratio (RSR) in the Lead IIderivation of electrocardiography (ECG) in acute coronary syndrome (ACS)patients, in regards to the complications associated with myocardial infarction(MI), three-vessel coronary artery disease (TVCAD), and mortality. Method: Thiscross-sectional retrospective cohort study included a total of 1102 patientswith ACS, who presented to our hospital's emergency department (ED) with chestpain and were admitted to the cardiology inpatient service between January 2014and December 2017. The patients with an RSR value less than 1 were assigned togroup I and the patients with RSR values greater than 1 were assigned to groupII. These groups were compared in terms of age and gender; the presence ofblocked major coronary arteries (BMCA), complications associated with MI, andTVCAD; Gensini Scores (GS), the levels of cardiac troponin I (cTnI), andmortality rates.Results: ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI), unstable angina (UA), and non-ST segment elevation myocardialinfarction (NSTEMI) were more frequent in group I in both genders. Ischemicheart failure (IHF), ventricular tachycardia (VT), acute pulmonary edema (APE),cardiac effusion (CE), and tamponade (CT) predominated in group I. However,atrioventricular (AV) block, TVCAD, and mortality was more frequent in groupII. In men, STEMI, UA, NSTEMI, branch block (BB), complications, TVCAD, BMCA,and mortality were found to be high. Atrial fibrillation (AF) occurred more commonly in NSTEMI and BBB weremore common in acute inferior MI (AIMI). IHF, VT, and APE were commonly seen inacute anterior MI (AAMI). AV block was more frequent in AIMI. TVCAD was morecommon and the mortality rate was higher in AAMI. The BMCA was identified to bethe right coronary artery (RCA) in AIMI. The most commonly blocked vessels werethe circumflex artery (Cx=L1) and the left anterior descending artery (LAD=L2)in AAMI. The most commonly blocked vessel was L2 in both UA and NSTEMI.Conclusions: The RSR value maybecome an adjunctive predictor for estimating the complications associated withMI, TVCAD, and mortality in ACS.

Aim: To assess the early prognostic values of admission cardiac biomarkers (CKMB, hs-Troponin T, BNP) in patients with STEMI by determining the association of these markers with mortality, Gensini scores and LAD involvement prospectively.Materials and Method: The current study was performed through the six-month period on 70 STEMI patients admitted to ED who had chest pain for the first time in their lives and underwent to percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Admission first cardiac biomarker values measured within 6 hours, patient demographics and clinical characteristics (age, gender, PCI results, LAD involvement) and Gensini scores calculated in regards to PCI results were recorded. Association of each cardiac biomarker (CKMB, hs-Troponin T, BNP) with the presence of mortality and LAD involvement was calculated. Correlation between biomarker levels and gensini scores were sought with Spearman correlation coefficients test.Results: BNP (p=0.005) and hs-Troponin T (p=0.002) were associated with increased mortality. There was no association between mortality and the first admission value of cardiac biomarkers (BNP, CK-MB, hs-troponin T) with Gensini score (p>0.05). Higher BNP values indicated higher LAD (+) lesion probability (p0.05).Conclusions: Acute STEMI with high BNP and hs-Troponin T levels predict increased mortality and needs more serious treatment and close follow-up. Additionally, higher BNP levels suggest a potential LAD (+) lesion which is closely related with mortality. Admission BNP and hs-Troponin T values indicate early prognostic outcome in STEMI patients, however they don’t point out the severity of the lesions., Amaç: ST segment elevasyonlu miyokard infarktüsü olanhastalarda başvuru anındaki kardiyak biyomarkerların(CKMB, hs-Troponin T, BNP) prospektif olarak mortalite,Gensini skoru ve LAD lezyonun varlığını belirleyerek erkenprognostik önemini değerlendirmektir.Materyal ve Metod: Bu çalışma altı aylık bir periyotta acilservise ilk kez göğüs ağrısı ile başvurup perkutan koronergirişim (PCI) yapılan 70 hastada yapılmıştır. Başvuru anındailk kardiyak biyomarkerlar ölçülmleri, hastaların demografik veklinik özellikleri ve PCI sonuçlarına göre Gensini skorlarıhesaplanarak kaydedilmiştir. Yüksek BNP düzeylerindeyüksek oranda LAD tutulumu tespit edilmiştir (p0.05).Sonuç: Akut ST segment elevasyonu MI ile başvuranhastalarda yüksek BNP ve hs-Troponin düzeyleri artmışmortalitenin bir göstergesi olabilir bu nedenle daha ciddi biryaklaşım ve takibe gereksinim vardır. Buna ilaveten yüksekBNP düzeyleri potansiyel olarak LAD tutulumunugösterebilmekte olup bu da mortalite ile sıkı bir ilişkiiçerisindedir. Başvuru anındaki BNP ve hs-Troponin Tdeğerleri ST segmen elevasyonu olan MI’ lü hastalarda erkenprognostic sonuçları gösterebilmektedir ancak lezyonunciddiyeti hakkında bir fikir vermemektedir.

Introduction: Losing the bilateral muscle functions on one side of the face or both sides is called facial paralysis (FP). FP is observed more frequently in women during pregnancy and in early postpartum period when compared with other women. Bilateral FP, on the other hand, is a very rare situation among other paralyses. The facial nerve paralysis may be observed due to various reasons, such as genetic factors, vascular ischemia and inflammation developed due to viral infection, autoimmune diseases, temporal bone fractures, head-neck tumors, and central nervous system lesions. However, despite these known factors, the majority of FP cases are idiopathic. For this reason, more diseases must be considered to shed some light on the etiology of FP. It is already known that corticosteroids are efficien twhen used early in treatment. A complete blood counts and serologic tests were performed in patients, and the results came back normal. During a 14-day treatment, 1mg/kg methyl prednisolone was applied. After 3 weeks, complete healing took place.Case Report: Written informed consent was obtained from who participated in this study. A 36-year-old female patient worked as a teacher in an educational institution. As of the postpartum 5th day, the patient first experienced sudden pain and then numbness, which were more prominent in the left cheek and ear. After 2 days, the patient reported with a slight pull, first on the left side of the face and then on the right side, disruption in smiling, being unable to close the eyelids adequately, difficulty at chewing, slight swelling in the face and lips.Conclusion: In this case study, we present a clinical follow-up and treatment of a postpartum patient diagnosed with idiopathic bilateral FP, accompanied by literature findings

Objectives: Myocardial reperfusion and early treatment of complications are the most effective factors for survey after AMI. In this study, we evaluated the effecting factors of thrombolytic theraphy in patients diagnosed with AMI at emergency department. Materials and Methods: Between the dates of January 2002 and January 2003, 168 patients diagnosed with AMI at emergency department in the Hospital of Medicine Faculty, Cumhuriyet University, Sivas, were included. Data about ages, types of AMI, attending time to the hospital after started chest pain, properties of thrombolytic theraphy were collected. Result: Seventy-nine patients with acute myocardial infarction were given thrombolytic theraphy. 89 (52.98%) patients weren’t given thrombolytic theraphy owing to some reasons. These reasons; 47 (52,81%) of these patients with delayed application to the hospital, 22 (24,72%) with non ST elevation myocardial infarction, 15 (16,85%) with delayed diagnosis at emergency department, 5 (5,62%) with thrombolytic theraphy contraindications. Conclusion: nearly a half of AMI patients weren’t given thrombolytic theraphy due to delayed attendance. Transporting difficulties have a major role in delayed attendance. Bu çalışmada, akut miyokard enfarktüsü (AMI) tanısı alan hastaların acil serviste trombolitik tedavi uygulamasını etkileyen faktörler incelendi. Gereç ve Yöntem: Ocak 2002-Ocak 2003 tarihleri arasında Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Acil Servisi’nde AMI tanısı alan 168 hasta incelendi. Vakalar ile ilgili yaş, AMI tipleri, hastaneye başvuru zamanları ve trombolitik tedavi alan hastaların özelliklerine ait veriler toplandı. Bulgular: AMI tanısı alan bu hastaların 79’una (%47,02) trombolitik tedavi uygulanırken, 22 (%24.72) ST elevasyonu olmayan MI, 47 (%52.81) hastaneye geç başvuru, 15 (%16,85) tanı konulmadaki gecikme, 5 (%5,62) trombolitik tedavi kontrendikasyonu nedeniyle toplam 89 hastaya (%52.98) trombolitik tedavi uygulanamadı. Sonuç: Hastanemiz acil servisinde AMI tanısı alan hastaların yaklaşık yarısına geç başvuru nedeniyle trombolitik tedavi verilememektedir. Bu tedavi oranının düşüklüğünde hastaların hastaneye geç başvurmalarına neden olan ulaşım sorunu rol oynamaktadır. Vasküler girişim yolu problemi yaşayan böbrek yetmezlikli hastalarda, venöz kateter takılması zorunlu olabilmektedir. Femoral santral kateterizasyon düşük komplikasyon olasılığı nedeniyle özellikle acil kliniklerinde sık kullanılmaktadır. Katetere bağlı kanamalar % 0,5-1,6 oranında bildirilmektedir, ancak hayati tehlike oluşturan kanama ve cerrahi müdahale gereksinimi oluşturan komplikasyon ise oldukça nadirdir. Bu makalede, sağ femoral venöz kateter takılması sonrasında, ciddi retroperitoneal hematom gelişen hemolitik üremik sendromlu bir olguyu sunmayı amaçladık., Venous catheter (VC) insertion may be necessary for the patients with renal failure facing vascular access problem. Femoral VCs are commonly used for their lower complication rates especially in emergency clinics. The incidence of bleeding associated with VC is reported 0.5-1.6%, however, life threatening hemorrhage and complications requiring surgical intervention are very rare. AMAÇ: Travma nedeniyle acil servise başvuran 65 yaş ve üstü bireylerin travma nedenleri, travma sonucu ortaya çıkan bulgular, yandaş hastalıklarının ve ilaç kullanımının travma etyolojisi üzerine olan etkisi araştırıldı. GEREÇ-YÖNTEM: Bu çalışma Yeditepe Üniversitesi Hastanesi acil servisinde Ocak 2005 ile Şubat 2006 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirildi. Çalışmaya, travma nedeniyle acil servise getirilen 65 yaş ve üstü 91 olgu (48 erkek [%52,7], 43 kadın [%47,3]; ortalama yaş 73±5,42; dağılım 65-92) dahil edildi. Olguların yaşları, cinsiyetleri, başvuru nedenleri, yaralanma tipleri, yandaş hastalıkları, ilaç kullanımları ve Yaralanma Şiddeti Ölçeği incelendi. BULGULAR: Hastaların 57’si (%62,6) düşük enerjili düşme, 13’ü (%14,3) yüksek enerjili düşme, 6’sı (%6,6) düşük enerjili araç kazası ve 14’ü (%15,4) yüksek enerjili araç kazası nedeniyle başvurdu. Düşme nedeniyle başvuran hastalarda, hipertansiyon, düşme dışı nedenlere göre anlamlı olarak daha sık rastlandı (p=0,003). Düşük enerjili düşmelerde femur kırığı daha sık gözlendi (p=0,026). Yüksek enerjili düşmelerle vertebra kırığı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptandı (p=0,037). Düşük enerjili motorlu araç kazalarında yumuşak doku travması anlamlı olarak daha yüksek idi (p=0,01). Yüksek enerjili motorlu araç kazaları ile kot kırığı arasında anlamlı olarak ilişki vardı (p, BACKGROUND: The objective of this study was to evaluate the causes and demographics of trauma patients 65 years of age and older, and also the effects of co-morbidities and drug use on trauma. METHODS: This study was performed in Medicine Faculty of Yeditepe University Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine Outpatients Clinic between January 2005 - February 2006. Ninety-one trauma patients (48 males [52.7%], 43 females [47.3%]; mean age 73±5.42; range 65 to 92 years) 65 years of age and older were included into the study. Age, gender, trauma causes, injury types, co-morbidities, drug consumption and injury severity scores were recorded onto the study form. RESULTS: Fifty-seven (62.6%) patients were admitted to the emergency department because of low-energy fall, 13 patients (14.3%) for high-energy falls, 6 patients (6.6%) for low-energy motor vehicle crush, and 14 patients (15.4%) for high-energy motor vehicle crush. Hypertension was significantly more frequent in falls than the other trauma mechanisms (p=0.003). There was a higher rate of femur fracture in low-energy falls than the others (p=0.026). However, the rate of vertebral fracture was higher in high-energy falls (p=0.037). Amaç: Acil serviste değerlendirilen vertigolu hastalarda nörolojik yönden acil olanların insidansını tespit etmek. Bulgular: Vertigo şikayeti nedeniyle başvu-ran 3558 hasta incelendi. Bunlardan 410 hasta nöroloji hekimince muayene edilmişti ve 86 hastaya beyin tomografisi çekildi. Yalnızca 11 hastada nörolo-jik yönden aciliyet gösteren bir lezyon bulundu. Gereç ve Yöntem: Acil servise vertigo nedeniyle başvuran ve nöroloji hekimince değerlendirilen hastalar çalışmaya alındı. Hastaların demografik, laboratuar ve beyin tomografileri ile hastanın son tanısı incelendi. Sonuç: Vertigo acil servislerde sık başvu-ru nedenlerinden biridir. Birçok nörolojik neden vertigonun etiyolojisinde rol almakla birlikte somatizasyon bozukluğu gibi çok basit nedenler de sebepler arasındadır. Acil servislerde gereksiz konsültasyonları, hasta yığılmalarını ve görüntüleme yöntemlerinin kullanımını önlemek için bu şikayetle başvuranlar-da iyi bir nörolojik muayene, arter kan gazı, kan şekeri ve tam kan sayımı ile hastanın değerlendirilmesi yeterlidir., Aim: To asses the incidence of vertigo which occurs as a symptom of a neurological emergency. Material and Method: Emergency Room (ER) admissions with vertigo in a state hospital have been evaluated. Patients who have been consulted to a neurologist were included in the study. Demographical variables and the routine ER examination with cranial imagings of the necessary patients were investigated. Results: Three thousand five hundred and fifty-eight patients who were admitted with vertigo were analysed. Four hundred and nine of these patients were consulted to a neurologist. Eightysix of them underwent brain Computerized Tomography. Only 11 of the 86 imagings showed a lesion consistent with neurological emergency. Discussion: Vertigo is a very common symptom in ER. Considering the vast etiology of vertigo, besides being a symptom of severe neurological disorders it may even represent a somatiform disorder. The easiest and the least costing steps of ER examination like monitoring of blood glucose level, complete blood count, arterial blood pressure with neurological examination would prevent overuse of hospital sources and avoid consultation burden of neurologists.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between procalcitonin and other acute phase reactants, and also analyze their relationship with clini­cal situation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) acute exacerbations. Materials and methods: The study was made with 122 acute COPD exacerbated patients, who were admitted to emergency service. Patients with below 0.25 ng/ml PCT value included Group 1, and the patients with PCT val­ues ≥ 0.25 ng/ml Group 2. Serum procalcitonin levels, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP) values and white blood cell (WBC) counts were measured. Also, patients hospitalization time and mortal­ity rates were recorded and compared with PCT. Results: Patients were divided in 3 groups according to their clinical diagnosis; Pneumonia (n=27), Mycoplasma-Chlamydia pneumonia (n=11) and the patients with only COPD exacerbation(n=84). Mean PCT values accord­ing to the groups were 9.47 ± 8.1 ng/ml, 0.41 ± 0.2 ng/ml, and 0.21 ± 0.05 ng/ml respectively. The relationship between PCT with CRP and white blood cell has been found between significiant (p=0.001, p=0.005 respec­tively), whereas the relationship between PCT and ESR was nonsignificant (p=0.55). Procalcitonin and CRP had a positive correlation with the hospitalization time (p=0.034, p=0.022 respectively). The mean ± standard error of PCT for the patients who died was 28.3 ± 27.5 ng/ml, and the difference between patients who died or were discharged was statistically significant (p= 0.012). Conclusion: PCT can be a useful indicator for morbidity and prognosis in COPD patients., Amaç: Çalışmanın amacı kronik obstruktif akciğer hasta­lığı (KOAH) akut alevlenmeli hastaların serum prokalsito­nin (PCT) ölçümü ile diğer akut faz belirteçlerini karşılaş­tırmak ve klinikle ilişkisini araştırmaktır. Gereç ve yöntem: Çalışma acil servise başvuran 122 KOAH akut alevlenmeli hasta ile yapıldı. Prokalsitonin (PCT) değeri 0.05). Has­taların PCT ve CRP değerleri ile hastanede kalış sürele­ri arasında aynı yönlü ilişki saptandı (sırasıyla p=0.034, p=0.022). Eksitus olan hastalardaki PCT ortalama değeri 28.3 ± 27.5 ng/ml olup taburcu olanlara oranla anlamlı olarak yüksek bulundu (p= 0.012). Sonuç: Elde ettiğimiz verilere dayanarak PCT\'nin KOAH akut alevlenmeli hastalarda morbidite ve prognozunun belirlenmesinde yararlı bir gösterge olarak kullanılabile­ceği sonucuna varıldı.

Objective: Cerebrovascular diseases have a high rate in emergency services. We investigated the value of MMX in plasma for early diagnosis among the patients with suspected cerebrovascular disease and the correlation between the emergency, triage and neurology physician diagnoses. Material and Methods: It is a prospective study carried out with 83 patients. Pre-prepared forms were filled with the data about the patients. Samples of 1cc venous blood were measured for MMX and the results classified as normal or pathologic. The correlation between the results and physician diagnosis was investigated. Results: 44 (53%) of 83 patients were male, 39 (47%) were female. The average age was 69.1 (37-90) years. Neurology physician diagnosis, accepted as the gold standard, was compared with the triage, emergency physician diagnosis and MMX results by ROC curve analysis, and the difference was not significiant (p>0.05). When the diagnoses of the emergency physician were compared with the MMX results, the compatiblity for definite and probable strokes were 100% and 92.1%. The rates for triage physician were 100% and 96.4%. Conclusion: As a result of this study we can say that the stroke probablity is high if MMX is high in patients with suspected cerebrovascular disease, but more studies with large population groups are needed for specifity assessment. Bu çalışmada acil servise serebrovasküler hastalık şüphesi ile başvuran hastalarda erken tanı için plazmadaki MMX'in etkinliği ve ayrıca acil hekimi ile triyaj hekiminin tanılarının nöroloji hekiminin kesin tanısıyla korelasyonu incelendi. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışma prospektif olup acil servise başvuran 83 hasta ile yapıldı. Önceden hazırlanmış formlara hasta bilgileri dolduruldu, hastalardan alınan 1cc venöz kan triyaj inme panel kiti cihazı ile değerlendirilerek sonuçlar patolojik veya normal olarak sınıflandırılıp hekim tanıları ile korelasyonuna bakıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya alınan 83 hastanın 44'ü (%53) erkek, 39'u (%47) kadındı. Yaş ortalaması 69.1 (37-90) olarak hesaplandı. Nöroloji hekiminin tanısı altın standart olarak alınıp triyaj, acil hekimi tanıları ve MMX inme değerleri ROC eğrisi analizi ile karşılaştırması yapıldığında aralarında anlamlı bir fark bulunmadı (p>0.05). Acil hekimi ile triyaj hekimi tanı oranları incelemesinde; acil hekiminin kesin ve muhtemel inme ön değerlendirmesi ile MMX sonuçları sırasıyla %100 ve %92.1, triyaj hekiminde ise sırasıyla %100 ve %96.4 uyumluluk saptandı. Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonucunda serebrovasküler hastalık şüphesi olan hastalarda triyaj panel kiti ile yapılan değerlendirme sonrasında MMX değerlerinin yüksek bulunması durumunda hastanın inme olasılığının yüksek olduğu gösterilmekle beraber spesifite değerlendirmesi için daha fazla vakayla yapılacak çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulduğu sonucuna varıldı., Amaç: Serebrovasküler hastalıklar acil servislerde en sık karşılaşılan hastalıklar grubunu oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada acil servise serebrovasküler hastalık şüphesi ile başvuran hastalarda erken tanı için plazmadaki MMX’in etkinliği ve ayrıca acil hekimi ile triyaj hekiminin tanılarının nöroloji hekiminin kesin tanısıyla korelasyonu incelendi. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışma prospektif olup acil servise başvuran 83 hasta ile yapıldı. Önceden hazırlanmış formlara hasta bilgileri dolduruldu, hastalardan alınan 1cc venöz kan triyaj inme panel kiti cihazı ile değerlendirilerek sonuçlar patolojik veya normal olarak sınıflandırılıp hekim tanıları ile korelasyonuna bakıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya alınan 83 hastanın 44’ü (%53) erkek, 39’u (%47) kadındı. Yaş ortalaması 69.1 (37-90) olarak hesaplandı. Nöroloji hekiminin tanısı altın standart olarak alınıp triyaj, acil hekimi tanıları ve MMX inme değerleri ROC eğrisi analizi ile karşılaştırması yapıldığında aralarında anlamlı bir fark bulunmadı (p > 0.05). Acil hekimi ile triyaj hekimi tanı oranları incelemesinde; acil hekiminin kesin ve muhtemel inme ön değerlendirmesi ile MMX sonuçları sırasıyla %100 ve %92.1, triyaj hekiminde ise sırasıyla %100 ve %96.4 uyumluluk saptandı. Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonucunda serebrovasküler hastalık şüphesi olan hastalarda triyaj panel kiti ile yapılan değerlendirme sonrasında MMX değerlerinin yüksek bulunması durumunda hastanın inme olasılığının yüksek oldu- ğu gösterilmekle beraber spesifite değerlendirmesi için daha fazla vakayla yapılacak çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulduğu sonucuna varıldı

AMAÇ: Bu çalışmada; adli olguların demografik özellikleri ile adli olgu profilinin ortaya çıkarılması yanı sıra; hekimlerin adli rapor düzenleme aşamasında standardizasyonunun sağlanmasının adli tıp uygulamaları ve yargılama aşamasındaki öneminin vurgulanması amaçlandı. GEREÇ ve YÖNTEM: Bu çalışma; 01.01.2006-31.12.2006 tarihleri arasında Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Adli TıpAnabilim Dalı'na adli rapor düzenlenmesi için adli makamlardan gönderilen olguların hastane dosyaları ile adli raporlarının retrospektif olarak incelenmesiyle yapılmıstır. Olguların tıbbi ve adli kayıtları; cinsiyet, yaş, olay türü, olay tarihi, olay yeri, gönderilen makam, yaralanan vücut bölgesi, tedavi olduğu servis, zehirlenme ve cinsel saldırı yönünden, ayrıca adli rapordaki sonuç raporları yönünden değerlendirilerek benzer çalışmalarla karşılastırıldı. BULGULAR: 1,296 olgunun %76.8'i erkekti. Olguların çoğunlukla genç ve orta yaş grubunda olduğu belirlendi. Adli olguların özellikle ağustos ayında (%10.9) daha yoğun olduğu ve çoğunlukla acil serviste (%29.9) tanı ve tedavi sonrası taburcu edildikleri saptandı.Yaşamsal tehlikeye neden olacak yaralanma oranı ise %17.4 olarak tespit edildi. Yaralanmaların en sık (%44.6) baş-boyun bölgesinde olduğu, %30.8 ile trafik kazalarının adli olguların önemli bir kısmını olusşturduğu gözlendi. SONUÇ: Hekim güvenliği ve hasta mağduriyetinin önlenmesi açısından adli olguların özellikle raporlama aşamasının daha özenli yapılması için mezuniyet sonrası adli tıp eğitimi ve adli tıp uzmanları ile koordineli çalışma gereklidir. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to reveal demographic properties and profile of forensic cases in addition to emphasize the importance of forensic report standardization in forensic medical practises and judicial process. MATERIALS and METHODS: This study, were reviewed retrospectively hospital files and forensic reports of cases who have been sent to Cumhuriyet University Medical Faculty Department of Forensic Medicine from by judicial authorities for organizing the forensic reports between the dates 01.01.2006-31.12.2006. The medical and judicial data that were evaluated according to gender, age, event type, event date, event location, sent to the authorities, injuring the body regions, the treatment services, intoxication, sexual assaults and also the results of forensic reports were compared with similar studies. RESULTS: Among 1.296 patients 76.8% were men. Most of the cases were young and middle aged group. Forensic cases were higher in number especially in August (10.9%) and discharged following diagnosis and treatment in emergency services (29.9%). Injuries with vital severity were identified as 17.4%. Injuries were most frequent (44.6%) at head-neck region and a significant ratio of forensic cases were caused by traffic accidents (%30.8). CONCLUSION: As a conclusion; to protect physcian and patients' rights, to control forensic reports more carefully, a coordinated study with forensic medical specialists is required during post graduation education of forensics.
