Türkiye ormancılığında, ibreli ağaç türlerinin hasadında, kabuk soyma işleri çoğunlukla meşcere içinde (kütük dibinde) gerçekleştirilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, motorlu testerelere monte edilmesi için tasarlanan kabuk soyma aparatının, modifiye edilip motorlu çalı tırpanına montajlanmasıyla elde edilen ve motosoyar adı verilen aracın kabuk soyma operasyonlarındaki kullanılabilirliği konu edilmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı; motosoyarın kabuk soymadaki uygulama potansiyelini ortaya koyabilmek için motosoyarın iş verimi ve kabuk soyma kalitesini, balta ve motorlu testere ile karşılaştırıp değerlendirmektir. Antalya Orman Bölge Müdürlüğü Akseki Orman İşletme Müdürlüğü sınırları içindeki devlet ormanlarında aynı ağaç türünde (kızılçam; Pinus brutia Ten.), aynı meşcere koşullarında, tecrübeli ve sertifikalı bir operatörle, aynı zaman periyodunda hasat edilmiş benzer boy ve farklı çaplardaki tomrukların kabukları, üç farklı araç-gereçle soyulmuştur. Araç-gereç farklılıklarından kaynaklanan kabuk soyma performansı, iş-zaman etütlerinden elde edilen iş verimiyle; kabuk soyma kalitesi ise tomrukta kalan kabuklu alan miktarından elde edilen oranla belirlenmiş ve birbirleriyle karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar; ortalama 25 cm orta çap ve 3 m boya sahip tomrukların kabuklarının soyulmasında, tüm zaman dilimleri ölçeğinde motorlu testerenin en yüksek verime sahip olduğunu (3.65 m3/sa); motosoyarın (3.06 m3/sa) baltaya (1.25 m3/sa) göre daha verimli olmasına karşın motorlu testereye göre veriminin düşük olduğunu göstermiştir. Soyma kalitesi yönünden baltanın daha temiz (kalan kabuk miktarı; %1.65) soyma yaptığı, motorlu testerenin % 2.73’ lük oranla onu izlediği ve motosoyarın ise %3.42’lik bir düzeyde kabuk bıraktığı tespit edilmiştir. Motosoyar; sistem yapısının iyileştirilmesiyle (kayış ve şaft kolunun düzenlenmesi) motorlu testere kadar verimli ve kullanışlı olabilecek bir performans göstermiştir. Motosoyarın, kabuk soyma işlerindeki (daha önceki çalışmalarda belirlenen) teorik, teknik, ekonomik ve ergonomik potansiyeli yanında, uygulama potansiyeline de sahip olduğu ortaya konulmuştur.

Purpose: Aberrant DNA content has been discussed as a potential prognostic feature in prostate cancer.Experimental Design: We analyzed the clinical significance of DNA ploidy in combination with prognostic relevant deletions of PTEN and 6q15 in 3,845 prostate cancers.Result: The DNA status was diploid in 67.8%, tetraploid in 25.6%, and aneuploid in 6.8% of tumors, and deletions of PTEN and 6q15 occurred in 17.8% and 20.3% of tumors. Abnormal DNA content and deletions were linked to high Gleason score, advanced tumor stage, and positive nodal stage (P < 0.0001 each). The risk of PSA recurrence increased from diploid to tetraploid and from tetraploid to aneuploid DNA status (P < 0.0001 each). However, 40% of patients with Gleason score ≥4+4 and 55% of patients with PSA recurrence had diploid cancers. This fraction decreased to 21% (Gleason ≥4+4) and 29% (PSA recurrence) if PTEN and/or 6q deletion data were added to ploidy data to identify cancers with an aberrant DNA status. The significance of combining both deletions and ploidy was further demonstrated in a combined recurrence analysis. Presence of deletions increased the risk of PSA recurrence in diploid (P < 0.0001), tetraploid (P < 0.0001), and aneuploid cancers (P = 0.0049), and the combination of ploidy data and deletions provided clinically relevant information beyond the CAPRA-S nomogram. Multivariate modeling including preoperatively and postoperatively available parameters identified the “combined DNA status” as a strong independent predictor of poor patient outcome.Conclusions: The combinatorial DNA content analysis involving general (ploidy) and specific events (deletions) has the potential for clinical utility in prostate cancer. Science human beings’ life has become more complex the factors which determine the quality of that life have increased and also become more complicated. Therefore macroeconomic parameters that define and measure economic welfare only via personal income have become narrow and shallow. In that context economic development is to be approached as a field of study which contain and exceed economic growth and take human being at the centre of its focus. What make a society developed is to be the individual’s life standard and the richness of quality and quantity of the choice set. So, issues like democracy, freedom and nature need to be evaluated among a country’s welfare criterion as development’s vertical component. Besides, studying institutional values and mechanisms that create these components like societies’ openness to change, individual’s domination on themselves and nature and the source of individuals’ value means studying development’s horizontal components.In this study a modern and universal description of development will be suggested, development’s components and relationship between each other will be investigated and development’s meaning will be discussed though these components.

Banking industry can be appeared as one of the most functional and dynamic engines of the economy; especially of the developing economies, by providing funds for growth. Hence, problems stemming from this industry tend to be more contagious. Therefore, monitoring banking system has become more vital in the light of fact that the world speed of experiencing crisis had increased. In that context one of the most popular supervision system, CAMELS analyses, provide researchers a comprehensive, standardized and effective way to monitor, and detect problems in banks. By this study four biggest bank in Turkey, in terms of their asset size and profitability, were analyzed for the period between 2011 and 2018, when the effect of the crisis in 2008 had started to diminish in Turkish Economy. A CAMELS analysis was employed with 30 ratios in order to evaluate banks performances. Results demonstrated that two out of four banks (Akbank and Ziraat Bank) seemed to improved and reached a satisfactory performance after the crisis in terms of all components of CAMELS, while Garanti Bank’ performance fluctuated over the period and Isbank has not managed to increase its scores and forestall deteriorating.

Class III β-tubulin (TUBB3) is a component of microtubules of neuronal cells that is upregulated in various cancer entities. To better understand the role of TUBB3 in upper gastrointestinal tract cancer types, the present study assessed TUBB3 expression in tissue microarrays including 189 gastric and 428 esophageal cancer. TUBB3 expression was detected in 62.4% of gastric cancer, 73.8% of esophageal adenocarcinoma and 88.7% of esophageal squamous cell cancer, while control samples of normal esophageal and gastric epithelium were TUBB3-negative. TUBB3 positivity was not associated with the International Union Against Cancer classification, World Health Organization grading, lymph node involvement or distant metastasis in any entity. Of note, TUBB3 expression was associated with tumor localization and prognosis in gastric cancer, with the tumor stage in esophageal adenocarcinoma, and with the resection margin in esophageal squamous cell cancer. In conclusion, the substantial rate of positivity for TUBB3 already in early stages of gastric cancer in combination with the lack of a further increase in frequency with tumor stage, may suggest, that TUBB3 upregulation is rather relevant for cancer development than for cancer progression. TUBB3 might be a suitable prognostic biomarker in gastric cancer types.
