Considering the growing green awareness and increasingly stringent emission regulations, heavy-emitting supply chains are required to re-schedule their operations for environmental responsibility. Although coordination helps the supply chains overcome the decentralised disadvantages to achieve desirable profits, literature considering option contracts under emission constraints, especially combining warehousing contracts, remains scarce. This paper fills this research gap with the novelty in the dual-contract-coordinated decision analysis for achieving profit maximum and emission reduction targets considering customers' green awareness through option and warehousing contracts, based on the originality of using the Lagrange-Stackelberg optimisation method, which overcomes the difficulty in expressing the first-mover's decisions and simplifies the problem-solving process. Analytical and numerical results show that Pareto-efficient coordination can be fully achieved by the option contract if the warehousing contract ensures the same inventory costs before and after coordination. Otherwise, partial coordination also raises insiders' profitability only through the option contract. Purchasing extra emissions with green investment is the best in most cases. The contract-maker should deliberate its contract settings including the option and wholesale prices, as well as warehousing, to develop Pareto-efficient coordination. Recent management research suggests that firms try to orchestrate conformity and distinctiveness in their behavior to reconcile opposing demands of norm compliance and competitive distinction in order to appear optimally distinct. Whether they succeed or not depends on how audiences perceive the multiple signals they elicit. Extant literature has not fully uncovered how the media combine these different signals to form a representation of firms' behavior and their subsequent reactions to these combinations. We adopt a configurational approach to address this gap in the environmental sustainability context. Drawing on unique proprietary data on 118 cases in the energy utility industry and using fsQCA, we determine that different equifinal signal configurations are associated with positive media coverage regarding environmental behavior or the lack thereof. We then generate five patterns of signals that explain media reactions and disentangle the underlying logics behind them. Our study adds to the research on the multifaceted nature of signal (in)congruence perception by discussing the role of conformity and distinctiveness and highlighting that this perception depends on the signals' credibility. Delivering a balanced orchestration of conformity and distinctiveness signals is possible, but complex, because audiences tend to penalize incongruent postures they cannot associate with a given category. Corporate environmental responsibilities have expanded to include their supply chains. Green supply chain management (GSCM) practices can be extensive – including both intra- and inter-organisational environmental management practices. Selecting and sequencing GSCM practices is an important issue given resource and strategic organisational considerations. Using the cumulative capabilities theory, this study empirically explores GSCM implementation sequences, following which firms can build cumulative capabilities. Correlation, sequential test, and path analysis are used to identify GSCM practice implementation sequence from secondary data. The results show that firms should first encourage suppliers to disclose their environmental data and respond to inquiries on environmental violations by their suppliers (the order of the two is exchangeable), then encourage suppliers to comply with environmental regulations, extend practices to lower-tier suppliers, and engage in responsible recycling. This study is one of the first to apply cumulative capability theory to analyse environmental practices and provides a framework for future research on GSCM sequences. We find that firms reduce toxic emissions at their local plants following EPA enforcement actions against nearby plants operated by peer firms that compete in the same product market. These reductions are more pronounced for plants located near socially responsible mutual funds (SRMFs) that hold these plants' parent firms' shares. Close proximity to SRMFs is associated with real investment in abatement measures to mitigate emissions. While plants increase emissions again in the long run, such reversals do not occur in plants located near SRMFs. Taken together, our results suggest that local SRMFs complement EPA enforcement in influencing plants' emissions. As a responsible business philosophy, sustainable management is becoming a widely accepted management mode among managers, practitioners, stakeholders, and customers. The sustainable development of business management calls for the practice of the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principle. Companies that neglect ESG criteria in their business operations may face unexpected consequences. Therefore, the ESG sustainable performance of the company is becoming a benchmark to evaluate environmental and social responsibility of companies worldwide. This paper proposes an integrated MCDM framework combining the interval type-2 fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (IT2FAHP) and the interval type-2 fuzzy combined compromise solution (IT2F-CoCoSo) method for evaluating the ESG sustainable performance of listed companies. In the integrated MCDM framework, the interval type-2 fuzzy sets serve as an effective tool to transform qualitative linguistic evaluation into quantitative expression, the criteria weights are obtained using the IT2FAHP, and the rankings of alternatives are determined by the IT2F-CoCoSo method. The proposed method is applied in a case study on the ESG sustainable performance evaluation of five medical listed companies, which are evaluated based on three aspects: E, S, and G and further divided into 14 criteria. Results reveal that the most important criterion in the E, S, and G aspects are pollution treatment, health and safety, and risk management. It suggests that the Pfizer biopharmaceutical company has the best ESG sustainable performance among the five alternative medical listed companies. We perform a sensitivity analysis with random criteria weights and different parameter values to show the stability of the proposed approach. A comparison is also performed between our approach and some existing methods for validating the proposed approach. Corporate social responsibility(CSR) is becoming increasingly important in the field of corporate sustainability. However, despite the growing literature on CSR, there is a paucity of empirical evidence examining external environmental pressures. This paper aims to fill this gap by exploring the relationship between CSR and green exploratory innovation from the perspective of three types of environmental regulations: mandatory, market-driven, and voluntary regulations. Using Chinese-listed companies from 2010 to 2019 as original data, we examined the impacts of CSR on green exploratory innovation of firms and the moderating effects of the three regulations using a moderating effect model. The results concluded that CSR could significantly stimulate firms to engage in green exploratory innovation. Mandatory and market-driven regulations exhibited positive moderating effects, and market-driven regulations have a greater impact on CSR strategies. In contrast, voluntary regulations showed a negative moderating effect. Prefabricated construction has shifted a portion of environmental responsibilities (ERs) from on-site to off-site, prompting a focus on the entire supply chain. As an issue emerging alongside the prefabricated construction, ERs are yet to be clearly allocated along the supply chain. This study aims to explore the optimal allocation of ERs between the agents involved in a prefabricated construction supply chain (PCSC), considering two distinct types of government subsidies, namely, subsidies based on ER levels (EL subsidy) and subsidies based on ER incremental costs (EC subsidy). Additionally, it aims to compare the influence of two types of government subsidies on this allocation process. A three-stage supply-chain Stackelberg model involving the government, a supplier, and a contractor was established to analyze their optimal decisions and a numerical analysis based on a case was further exploited to validate the results. The study revealed a positive correlation between ER levels of the entire supply chain and the ER managerial efficiency of both agents under each type of subsidy. The ER allocation between the two agents varied depending on the subsidy type. With EL subsidies, the allocation of one's ER level was contingent on its own ER managerial efficiency, while under EC subsidies, the optimal allocation of ERs between the two agents was equal. No subsidy could simultaneously render both agents more profitable than the alternative subsidy, but optimal profits were largely determined by the ER managerial efficiency of the involved agents. By comparing subsidy effectiveness indicators, it was found that EL subsidies are deemed more beneficial for the construction environment than EC subsidies. Research Question/Issue: We examine the effect of multiple environmental, social, and governance (ESG) scores on institutional investor ownership of firms and investor portfolio weightings. We are also the first to analyze the three individual components of ESG rankings to estimate the relative preferences of institutional investors. Research Findings/Insights: Using a unique panel dataset covering US companies and institutional investor portfolios over the 2010–2019 period, we find that while investors are driven to add high‐quality ESG companies to their portfolios, there is a negative relationship with ESG when it comes to taking large ownership stakes. Furthermore, ESG scores are negatively related to the portfolio weightings of institutional investors, which raises concerns of greenwashing. Our analysis of individual ESG scores points to significantly larger effects of G scores in terms of holdings, and G is the only score with no negative impact on portfolio weightings. Finally, in support of systematic stewardship theory, top institutional investors allocate higher proportions of their portfolios to firms with high‐ESG ratings. Our results are robust to the use of a difference‐in‐differences analysis addressing endogeneity concerns. Theoretical/Academic Implications: The findings in this paper offer important policy implications for institutional investors, managers, and policymakers. Given the ongoing debate on ESG scores, this paper shows the importance of examining greenwashing for investors who have a concern regarding the extent to which the valuation of assets might be influenced by unsupported sustainability claims. This article investigates ethnographically how early-stage impact investors evaluate the credibility of the impact promises made by social entrepreneurs. Uncovering how investors carry out this task beyond observable characteristics and self-reported prosocial intentions, I propose that their evaluation of impact promises centers on four interrelated aspects of the entrepreneurs' behavior: impact metrics, impact track record, impact management, and impact prospects. I articulate these aspects into a framework explaining how credible beliefs about entrepreneurs' impact promises emerge among investors and embolden their investment decisions. Purpose: This study aims to investigate the relationship between corporate environmental responsibility (CER) and risk-taking in Chinese A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2020. It seeks to understand the influence of CER on risk-taking behavior and explore potential moderating factors. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative approach is used, using data from Chinese A-share listed companies over the specified period. Regression analysis is used to examine the relationship between CER and risk-taking, while considering moderating variables such as performance aspiration, environmental enrichment and contextual factors. Findings: The findings indicate that CER positively influences corporate risk-taking, with significant impacts on information asymmetry and corporate reputation. Moreover, positive performance aspiration strengthens the effect of CER on risk-taking, while negative performance aspiration and environmental enrichment weaken this effect. Cross-sectional analysis shows that the positive association between CER and risk-taking is more prominent for firms located in areas with strict environmental regulation, for nonstate-owned firms, and for firms with higher levels of internal control. Originality/value: This research contributes to the literature by providing insights into the dynamics between CER and risk-taking in the Chinese market context. Following a long period in which pressures to adopt CSR practices came largely from the left, the current communication environment has become far more divisive with the rise of illiberal political pressures from the right. These conflicting pressures arise from irreconcilable communication logics that threaten the future of CSR. This paper examines how these disruptive communication logics reflect the changing roles of disinformation in CSR communication, highlighting two overlapping eras: (1) the history of some companies using disinformation strategically to avoid or misrepresent CSR commitments; and (2) the more recent addition of what we term systemic disinformation generated by politicians, think tanks, and irresponsible competitors. These disinformation spheres challenge liberal democratic values and amplify attacks on CSR values. We discuss the dilemmas for companies seeking to adopt more responsible business practices and explore the implications of CSR communication becoming increasingly linked to larger societal conflicts over the nature of democracy. Capital constraints are one of the major challenges for the supplier to invest in activities to enhance environmental and social responsibility (ESR) in production. Responsible buyer direct financing has emerged as an important solution to motivate supplier ESR by pegging the interest rate to the supplier's ESR level. Motivated by real practices, we develop game‐theoretical models to explore the value of conducting blockchain‐assisted due diligence to inspect the borrowing supplier's ESR qualification in a two‐tier supply chain structure where the downstream buyer directly finances the capital‐constrained supplier. Conventional wisdom tells us that driving greater supplier transparency (e.g., conducting blockchain‐assisted due diligence) will motivate the supplier to strengthen environmental and social compliance. However, we identify the necessary and sufficient "backfiring condition" under which the blockchain‐assisted due diligence may "backfire" by reducing the supplier's ESR efforts. The supplier devotes more ESR efforts if and only if the due diligence cost is sufficiently high. Our result implies that the heavy cost of adopting blockchain technology is not necessarily bad from the responsibility perspective as long as the backfiring condition does not hold. Moreover, we identify the Pareto zone in which conducting blockchain‐assisted due diligence could benefit both supply chain members. We extend our model by examining the impact of a shift from profit orientation to social welfare orientation. Introduction: In the context of forest conservation, individuals' attitude can significantly influence their intentions and subsequent behaviors towards conserving forests. However, there is a research gap when it comes to understanding the determinants of individuals' attitude towards forests conservation. To address this gap, the present study aimed to investigate the influence of variables associated with values from value-belief-norm theory, awareness of consequences, and ascription of responsibility from norm activation model on individuals' attitudes as main determinant of behavior intention. Methods: The Data of study was collected from a sample of 200 students from Behbahan University, Iran. through a questionnaire designed specifically for this purpose. The validity and reliability of questionnaire were confirmed. Structural equation modeling was employed to analyze the collected data. Results: The findings of the study revealed that the examined variables were able to describe 88.6% of the variance in individuals' attitude towards forest conservation. Specifically, it was found that biospheric (ƛ = 0.097) and altruistic (ƛ = 0.385) values, ascription of responsibility (ƛ= 0.150), and awareness of consequences (ƛ = 0.380) had significant and positive effects on individuals' attitude towards forest conservation. On the other hand, egoistic values exhibited a significant and negative impact (ƛ = -0.071) on individuals' attitude. Discussion: These research findings hold significant implications for planners and policymakers involved in forest conservation efforts. By understanding the factors that shape individuals' conservation attitudes, decision-makers can develop targeted strategies and interventions to strengthen positive attitudes towards forest conservation. Given the positive influence of biospheric values and awareness of consequences, developing awareness-raising programs to enhance individuals' environmental knowledge and the awareness of outcomes of their conservation actions can be considered as strategy to strengthen public's attitude and improvement their participation in forest conservation projects. This study employed the stimulus – organism – response framework to explore the relationships between destination social responsibility (DSR), environmental sensitivity (ES), and environmentally responsible behavior (ERB), and to verify the mediating role of ES and moderating role of DSR. Convenience sampling was performed to survey 391 tourists who visited the Shanmei and Ruili communities in Alishan, Taiwan, and structural equation modeling was used to verify the aforementioned mediating and moderating relationships. The results revealed that perceived DSR positively influenced the relationship between ES and ERB in tourists and that ES positively influenced ERB. When tourists perceived a high level of DSR, their ES increased, which in turn promoted ERB; therefore, ES played a mediating role in the relationship between DSR and ERB. Additionally, a high level of perceived DSR strengthened the relationship between ES and ERB in tourists. Purpose: The study aims to investigate the risk transmission from COVID-19 to global agriculture, energy, natural resources/mining and environmentally/socially responsible investments. Additionally, it explores the connectedness of global energy indices with global agriculture, natural resources/mining and environmentally/socially responsible investments. The study develops a new COVID-19-based Global Fear Index (GFI) to achieve the objectives, thus contributing to the prevailing literature. Design/methodology/approach: The data of Global indices are selected from January 2020 to December 2021. The study uses multivariate BEKK-GARCH and TVP-VAR models to explore COVID-19 risk transmission and connectedness between global indices. Findings: Significant shock and volatility transmissions from COVID-19 to all global indices are observed. Results show that global agriculture, natural resource/mining markets and environmentally and socially responsible investments are safe havens during COVID-19. Furthermore, these global investment choices are barely connected with global energy indices. Practical implications: Portfolio managers and investors should invest in global indices to gauge the risk-adjusted return during the pandemic and upcoming health-related risks. Investors in energy sectors are advised to diversify the risk by adding safe-haven assets to their portfolios. Social implications: The findings shed light on the importance of environmentally and socially responsible investments as a separate asset class where ecologically friendly and socially sentimental investors could invest in diversifying the risk of their portfolios. Green nanotechnology offers several possibilities to bridge the nano and sustainability domains and help us achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and address major global concerns. In this review, we detail the fundamentals and applications of GNT toward SDGs goals. This includes energy production, pollution abatement, water treatment, and eco-friendly agricultural practices. The discussion includes challenges related to legal, ethical and safety aspects as well as limits of the technology. Prospects call for collaborative efforts across various disciplines and policy guidelines in bridging eco-friendly nanotechnology with UN SDGs. We hope that the insights provided in this review can help guide future research and policies toward more environmentally responsible practices, improving global environmental stewardship with a special emphasis on nanotechnology. Introduction: Marine microplastics, are widely distributed in the global marine environment, posing a challenging issue that requires the joint efforts of global stakeholders. Methods: To effectively address the issue of marine microplastic pollution (MMP) governance and analyze the dynamic changes in governance willingness of various participants under different scenarios, this paper meticulously constructs a game theory framework encompassing polluting enterprises, research institutions, and environmental organizations. Results: (1) On the political level, the implementation of continuous and strong economic penalty mechanisms is an effective means to deter enterprises from evading MMP governance responsibilities. However, the effective execution of this strategy highly depends on the participation and supervision of environmental organizations. Therefore, it is essential to assign more roles and responsibilities to environmental organizations to ensure the thorough execution of governance measures. (2) On the technical level, the effectiveness of research directly determines the functional status of enterprises and research institutions in the MMP governance decision-making system. Weaker entities tend to make decisions following the behavioral preferences of dominant entities. Thus, deepening the integration of industry and research and fully unleashing the effectiveness of research outcomes in MMP governance is a key path to enhancing overall governance efficiency and effectiveness. (3) On the economic level, high governance costs often become a significant factor limiting the enthusiasm of all parties to participate. However, when innovative cooperation models achieve cost sharing and benefit sharing, the governance willingness of participants significantly increases. It is evident that optimizing resource allocation, improving the efficiency of fund utilization, and establishing a diversified and sustainable funding guarantee mechanism are crucial for advancing the in-depth progress of MMP governance. Environmental responsibility is crucial in both consumption and production processes. Increasing environmental concerns of societies require eco-innovative and nature-based solutions (NBS) for entrepreneurs. Young people's intentions as potential innovators and entrepreneurs on eco-entrepreneurship with mediating effects have not been investigated, which is a shortcoming in the literature. This study was conducted with 920 respondents from a public university (Düzce University) students to determine the underlying motivations of eco-entrepreneurship intentions using structural equation modeling (SEM) and bootstrap methodology. SEM results show that environmental concerns have a positive direct effect (β = 0.62) on students' eco-entrepreneurship intention. This study can serve the several sustainable development goals (SDGs) making suggestions for the efficient and effective use of production factors in terms of environmentally responsible behavior. Introduction: Green banking (GB) strategies are a set of financial practices and activities implemented by banks to encourage sustainability, environmental responsibility, and low-carbon impact. This bibliometric study examines the present state of research in this field by utilizing the Scopus database for data retrieval and VosViewer for network analysis. Method: A total of 149 researches were retrieved from the Scopus and analyzed using the VosViewer software following the PRISMA guidelines. The study examines year-by-year publication patterns, top-cited articles, contributing countries, journals, co-citation analysis of authors, and co-occurrence analysis of keywords. Result: Strategies such as online banking, solar ATMs, construction of green buildings, and making provisions for green loans are identified as the key GB strategies that can be adopted by the banks. Furthermore, the fundamental challenges banking organizations encounter while implementing GB strategies are underlined. Discussion: The study suggests that "green brand image," "green audit," "environmental economics," and "carbon footprint" can be considered as an area of interest in future. The study provides researchers, policymakers, regulators, and financial institutions with valuable insights by presenting the current state of green banking research and identifying emerging areas for further exploration. In an era when ecological and environmental needs and responsibilities apply pressure on the world's countries and sustainability takes centre stage, ecologic/environmental (E/E) laboratories stand as beacons of scientific inquiry, innovating, optimising, and applying various tests for a better knowledge of our natural resources and the quality status of ecosystems. The purpose of this review is to provide an overview of the use of flow cytometry (FC) as a tool for assessing environmental quality, mainly using living organisms and their biological changes as bioindicators. Cytometric approaches applied to both marine and terrestrial ecosystems ensure the detection of biochemical and functional status of the cells composing either an organ thereof or the organism itself. In addition to cytometric evaluations of the biotic matrix, a brief overview of the techniques for the environmental assessment of biotic and abiotic matrices using mass spectrometry is given. The technique involving the continuous monitoring of the chemical and physical parameters of water, sediment, and soil is basically incapable of detecting any additive and synergetic effects of toxicants on living organisms. Therefore, techniques employing bioindicators provide valuable information for environmental diagnosis, and several studies have demonstrated the strong relationship between specific environmental data and cell/organ behaviour. An increase in ride-hailing services in the sharing economy can help to reduce the number of vehicles on the road, which will lead to a decrease in air pollution and noise pollution, an improvement in environmental conditions, a decrease in travel costs, and an increase in social benefits to travelers. Hence, there is a great need to examine the consumer's intention toward usage of ride-hailing services in the sharing economy. The current study aims to examine the green consumption intention of eco-friendly services as an outcome of environmental responsibility and environmental knowledge. It also attempts to examine the serial mediation of green concern, value co-creation, and mediated moderation of social support as an explanatory mechanism of green consumption intention of eco-friendly services. The research design was cross-section and deductive. The respondents of the study were registered university students in Islamabad who were active consumers of major ride-hailing services in Pakistan, i.e., Uber, Careem, Uplift, InDriver, B4U Cabes, and SUVL. A total of 402 responses were gathered using purposive sampling. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in Smart PLS is used to evaluate the reliability of measurement instruments and the validity of the research model. The current study results showed that environmental responsibility and knowledge positively and significantly affect motivation to engage in green consumption. Furthermore, environmental concern and value co-creation partially mediate the proposed relationship. In addition, social support also moderates the association between green concern and value co-creation such that it strengthens the connection. AbstractThe growing ubiquity of the metaverse among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) offers a game-changing chance for creative business plans and improved communication. This adoption reduces the consumption of physical resources and promotes an environmentally responsible business model in besides increasing operational efficiency. In accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UNDP, our study attempts to clarify how the metaverse might improve the sustainable performance of SMEs. We developed a comprehensive study model based on the diffusion of innovation (DOI) and technical organizational and environmental (TOE) paradigms. For data analysis a hybrid approach merging partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and artificial neural network (ANN) was implemented. The study highlights the crucial roles of relative advantage, value alignment, compatibility, and top management after analyzing data from 369 respondents across Chinese SMEs that was collected both physically and online. The understanding of decision-makers becomes evident as a crucial element impacting the adoption of metaverse and ensuing sustainable (social, economic, and environmental) outcomes. This study offers valuable insights on metaverse adoption and sustainable performance for Chinese SMEs. Concrete, a widely used construction material, is under scrutiny due to its environmental impact, primarily stemming from cement production. Researchers are exploring alternative materials and mix designs to mitigate these effects. Supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) like Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) show promise, reducing carbon emissions and enhancing concrete properties. Additionally, the extraction of natural aggregates poses environmental and health risks, necessitating the use of sustainable waste materials. Various wastes, including GGBS and clastic sand, are being investigated for their suitability in concrete production. This study aims to evaluate the performance of concrete incorporating GGBS and clastic sand (CLS) as substitutes. Understanding their impact on concrete properties will aid in developing more sustainable construction practices, contributing to reduced carbon emissions. Test results show mechanical property improvements with increasing GGBS and CLS content up to an optimal point, beyond which further enhancement ceases, likely due to unreacted materials acting as fillers. Using the response surface method, compressive strength values closely match experimental observations with a confidence level exceeding 95%. Novel male contraceptives have been in development for well over half a century, and despite a robust predicted global market for new methods, funding for research and development has been extremely limited. While the pharmaceutical industry previously supported male contraceptive research and development, industry partners are only spectators in the current space, awaiting a product that has been de‐risked by the public sector before re‐entering the field. Current male contraceptive development efforts are thus primarily funded by nonprofit, non‐governmental, and government agencies who also act as the primary advocates for the field. Specific organizations include the International Consortium on Male Contraception, the Population Council, the Male Contraceptive Initiative, the World Health Organization, and the US National Institutes of Health. The funding provided by these public agencies, alongside their social and policy‐based advocacy efforts such as market research, public education, and calls to action have kept the male contraceptive product development space afloat, resulting in a pipeline of potential products advancing towards market approval. However, as these products mature into more expensive clinical stages of development, they continue to face significant funding challenges, which many programs may not overcome. To fully realize the benefits of novel male contraceptive options, it is incumbent on philanthropic entities, impact investors, venture capital, and/or the pharmaceutical sector to provide significant and timely support for male contraceptive research and development. It distinguishes between circles, which are closed and symmetrical, and cycles, which represent the circulation of energy, matter, or information over time and space. Circular metaphors and models have historically simplified complex ecological systems, reducing their diversity into manageable forms for biopolitical regulation.

This paper presents a comprehensive framework for designing in-space propulsion systems, integrating four criteria: global propulsive performance, environmental impact, cost efficiency, and architectural reliability. The study focuses on the emerging class of Orbital Transfer Vehicles to illustrate the application of this method. By examining the synergistic potential of OTVs and greener propellants, the paper addresses different mission scenarios, including LEO, GEO, and lunar missions, with both scientific and commercial objectives. The proposed framework aims to go beyond traditional cost-centric approaches, offering a more complete evaluation method for early design phases. A case study comparing three liquid bipropellant options, pressure-fed MON-3/MMH, 98%-HTP/RP-1, and self-pressurizing N 2 O/Ethane, demonstrates the utility of the tool. Findings suggest that scientific missions benefit most from 98%-HTP/RP-1, while traditional propellants remain preferable for cost-driven commercial missions to GEO and the Moon, though greener alternatives are competitive for less demanding LEO missions. This study examines how tourists' emotional intelligence (EI) influences tourists' environmentally responsible behaviour (ERB). Moreover, this study also proposes a more parsimonious scale to measure EI. The analysis of 395 responses revealed a 16-item (instead of 33-item) EI scale – where four dimensions appeared. The findings show the relationships of those dimensions of EI with the dimensions of ERB. Perception of emotion relating to self positively influences civil, physical and persuasive action but not financial action whereas perception of emotion relating to others positively influences only civil and persuasive action. The impact of other tourists' EI dimensions on tourists' ERB is also divergent. These findings leverage literature by offering a parsimonious EI scale and by exploring the relationships between tourists' EI and the dimensions of tourists' ERB, which suggest tourism providers for reinforcing specific EI dimensions to promote tourists' ERB. This study investigates the value relevance of corporate impact investing (II) and socially responsible investing (SRI) strategies. We use the presence of sustainability strengths and the absence of sustainability concerns as proxies for corporate II and SRI strategies, respectively. Analyzing data from the 1991–2015 MSCI KLD environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance of U.S. firms and employing a system of linear equations to control for endogeneity, we find that both corporate II and SRI are negatively associated with short‐term stock performance. However, the negative impact of SRI diminishes after 4 years. Our results are primarily driven by firms with weaker economic performance, smaller sizes, and lower levels of institutional ownership. Further analysis reveals that the environmental and social dimensions of sustainability performance are negatively associated with stock performance, while the governance dimension is positively associated. The urgent need to move toward a more sustainable and low-carbon economy has gained increased attention in recent years. There is a global drive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address the causes of climate change since its effects are becoming more and more obvious. The study identified several potential green infrastructure projects that could have a significant positive impact on sustainable development in China. The core criteria and sub-criteria for impact investing in green infrastructure were determined by the panel through a Delphi process, and they were then analyzed and weighted using the fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. According to the study's findings, environmental impact was considered the most crucial factor when making decisions to invest in green infrastructure. The economic and social impacts are indicated as the second and third influential factors, respectively. In order to promote impact investing in green infrastructure for sustainable development in China, the study offers several policy recommendations. These recommendations include developing rules and regulations that encourage private sector investment, raising public awareness and participation, forming alliances between the public and private sectors, offering financial support and incentives, and building programs that will help China's green infrastructure industry build its capacity. The hospitality industry plays an important role in global sustainability efforts, and Albania, with its rich natural resources, is ready to take advantage of the growing demand for eco-friendly tourism experiences. As global awareness of environmental issues continues to grow, the hospitality industry faces increasing pressure to adopt sustainable practices. This study aims to explore new approaches to tourist behavior and the development of eco-hotels, contributing to the country’s potential as a leading destination in green tourism. Moreover, it focuses on the promotion of environmental responsibility and innovation within Albania’s hospitality sector, focusing on eco-tourism and the development of the eco-hotel model. Additionally, this study aims to identify opportunities for sustainable growth, positioning Albania as a competitive destination in the emerging green tourism field. The findings show the tourists’ perceptions of eco-tourism and eco-hotels. Recommendations for stakeholders, policymakers, and businesses are provided, aiming to influence the country’s transformation into a competitive green tourism destination. By combining insights from tourists with global green tourism trends, this study contributes to Albania’s effort towards a more sustainable and competitive future in the hospitality sector. A bibliometric analysis of the literature (Zupic & Cater, 2015) was carried out to analyze the trends and conclusions of studies on earnings management and corporate social responsibility (CSR). This study examined 177 Scopus-indexed papers published between 2008 and 2022. R-Biblioshiny was then used to process the data and create a citation matrix and bibliometric network that could be visualized and interpreted. VOSviewer and further investigations were also conducted. The results of the data analysis show a drastic uptrend in the studies on CSR and earnings management over the years. The data also revealed Spain as the most influential nation, and Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management as the journal with the strongest influence. An article with 845 citations was published in the Accounting Review journal based on the Co-Occurrence Network. In 2019, the focus of the research was on “corporate governance”, “investor protection”, and “financial performance”, whereas in 2021, “stakeholder theory” and “board diversity” were important buzzwords. Kim Y., Park M. S., and Wier B. are the most cited authors for co-citation analysis. This study also showed Martinez-Ferrero J. as the most influential author. While constructing pathways to achieving energy transitions is challenging to all global community members, this challenge is even greater for oil-exporting countries. Oil-exporting countries and their national oil companies (NOCs) are key players in the energy transitions. These actors' existing capacities (financial, technical, human) must be leveraged to accelerate decarbonization processes that are scaled and globally deployed. Energy transition roadmaps must embrace all relevant actors, including oil companies, as stakeholders that can significantly contribute to the acceleration of energy transitions across the globe. This situation must be reflected in outlooks and assessments of energy transitions. This article studies the regulatory conditions and interventions that have made the evolution of several NOCs possible as relevant actors in the 21st-century landscape, considering their activities in traditional energy sources, decarbonization solutions, and new energy sources. These NOCs vary with some having greater flexibility in shaping policies while others needing to comply with regulatory standards. All NOCs in this study, ADNOC, ARAMCO, and the NNPCL were entrusted with a degree of autonomy in addressing climate change, yet the larger margin of discretion ADNOC and ARAMCO corporations enjoyed has allowed them to excel in shaping and implementing these policies. The focus of this paper is on the role of soft law in this change, particularly ESG standards, as leading energy transition governance tools, which introduce accountability and environmental principles that guide the activity of these corporate actors beyond bear minimum requirements in laws and regulations. Recognizing that the current literature provides a fragmented depiction of impact investor decisions, this article empirically examines if impact investors are focused on financial returns or instead on the social impact generated by social enterprises. To address this research objective a sample of impact investors are surveyed in South Africa, where there is an increasing demand for impact investors to fund initiatives that address the country's many underlying structural deficits and wicked problems. Findings, based on correlational and regression analyses, indicate that variation in the impact investment decision is explained by the financial return motive. This finding resonates with the argument that investors are primarily focused on financial competitiveness and return on their investment. Developing a strong body of evidence that validates the effectiveness of policy in supporting impact investing is pivotal, particularly when given the lack of sustainability of many social enterprises in African and emerging economies. We examine the relationship between economic policy uncertainty and the release of climate change‐related information as a representation of non‐financial information. We argue that firms are likely to disclose their climate change‐related information to gain ethical legitimacy, especially during uncertain times. Using the policy uncertainty measure from Baker, Bloom, and Davis (2016) and an extensive dataset from the CSRwire platform, we provide strong evidence that policy uncertainty is positively associated with releasing climate change‐related news. Our findings are robust to alternative measures of policy uncertainty and when controlling for endogeneity. In a set of additional analyses, we show that the industries within which firms operate and their environmental performance are channels that explain the release of climate‐related information. Taken together, our results highlight the role that climate change‐related information may play in providing firms with ethical legitimacy and building trust among all stakeholders in times of political uncertainty. Purpose: Research on corporate social responsibility (CSR) within the real estate sector is limited, and the precise workings of its impact are still unclear. Under the premise that real estate enterprises face environmental uncertainty in China, this study explored the impact of CSR on real estate enterprise value. Design/methodology/approach: To investigate the impact of CSR on enterprise value, we studied 111 real estate enterprises with A-shares listed on Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2010 to 2020, and performed empirical tests to determine the moderating effect of environmental uncertainty on this relationship. Findings: (1) The fulfillment of corporate social responsibility (CSR) significantly influences the value of real estate enterprises. A sub-dimensional analysis reveals that fulfilling stakeholder and social welfare responsibilities within CSR positively impacts enterprise value, whereas environmental responsibility does not exert a notable effect. (2) The uncertainty associated with environmental changes profoundly affects the relationship between CSR and the value of real estate enterprises. More precisely, as environmental uncertainty increases, it amplifies the beneficial impact of CSR on enterprise value. Practical implications: These findings are valuable for real estate enterprises as they navigate the transition towards sustainable development, and they also provide insight for the government in formulating policies aimed at regulating the real estate sector. We propose a quantitative framework for assessing the financial impact of any form of impact investing, including socially responsible investing; environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives; and other nonfinancial investment criteria. We derive conditions under which impact investing detracts from, improves on, or is neutral to the performance of traditional mean-variance optimal portfolios, which depends on whether the correlations between the impact factor and unobserved excess returns are negative, positive, or zero, respectively. Using Treynor–Black portfolios to maximize the risk-adjusted returns of impact portfolios, we derive an explicit and easily computable measure of the financial reward or cost of impact investing as compared with passive index benchmarks. We illustrate our approach with applications to biotech venture philanthropy, a semiconductor research and development consortium, divesting from "sin" stocks, ESG investments, and "meme" stock rallies such as GameStop in 2021. Spray systems in agriculture serve essential roles in the precision application of pesticides, fertilizers, and water, contributing to effective pest control, nutrient management, and irrigation. These systems enhance efficiency, reduce labor, and promote environmentally friendly practices by minimizing chemical waste and runoff. The efficacy of a spray is largely determined by the characteristics of its droplets, including their size and velocity. These parameters are not only pivotal in assessing spray retention, i.e., how much of the spray adheres to crops versus becoming environmental runoff, but also in understanding spray drift dynamics. This study introduces a real-time deep learning-based approach for droplet detection and tracking which significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of measuring these droplet properties. Our methodology leverages advanced AI techniques to overcome the limitations of previous tracking frameworks, employing three novel deep learning-based tracking methods. These methods are adept at handling challenges such as droplet occlusion and varying velocities, ensuring precise tracking in real-time potentially on mobile platforms. The use of a high-speed camera operating at 2000 frames per second coupled with innovative automatic annotation tools enables the creation of a large and accurately labeled droplet dataset for training and evaluation. The core of our framework lies in the ability to track droplets across frames, associating them temporally despite changes in appearance or occlusions. We utilize metrics including Multiple Object Tracking Accuracy (MOTA) and Multiple Object Tracking Precision (MOTP) to quantify the tracking algorithm's performance. Our approach is set to pave the way for innovations in agricultural spraying systems, offering a more efficient, accurate, and environmentally responsible method of applying sprays and representing a significant step toward sustainable agricultural practices. Aim and Objective: To assess the awareness of clear aligner disposal among orthodontists and general dentists. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional electronic survey (e-survey) was developed based on the use of Google Forms. The survey link was randomly disseminated across social media platforms consisting of orthodontists and general dentists. The responses were subsequently tabulated and analyzed using statistical analysis with the help of Statistical Product and Services Solution software version 23.0. The survey comprised questions consisting of demographics, frequency of usage of clear aligners, and awareness on disposal of clear aligners. Results: The survey gathered responses from 760 participants, including 374 orthodontists and 384 general dentists from the 1,000 dentists and orthodontists who were surveyed, revealing trends in clear aligner usage, disposal practices, and awareness. Orthodontists showed higher frequency and safer disposal practices. A knowledge gap exists among dental practitioners regarding biodegradation characteristics and disposal regulations. Both groups express a shared interest in environmentally responsible practices, emphasizing the necessity for education and comprehensive guidelines from aligner companies to mitigate environmental impact. Conclusion: Clear aligners are popular in orthodontic treatment which contributes to environmental concerns due to improper disposal. The study explored clear aligner disposal practices among general dentists and orthodontists. The study underscores the need for increased awareness among orthodontists and general dentists, emphasizing proper clear aligner disposal methods and the importance of comprehensive instructions from aligner companies. This paper examines the controversies surrounding a feminist ‘innovative finance’ initiative focusing on a case study of the Equality Fund. In 2019, the Government of Canada provided a CAD 300 million contribution to establish multistakeholder partnership known as the Equality Fund, a platform that uses innovative financing, including through its 100% gender lens investment portfolio, the revenue from which is channelled towards grants to women's rights organisations and feminist movements in the global South. Based on interviews with key informants from non-governmental, development cooperation organisations involved in research or advocacy in Canada and beyond we examine the structure and goals of the Equality Fund in light of contrasting interpretations of feminism and debates about the financialisation of development. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify and analyze the key determinants that influence the decisions of agile organizations to implement renewable energy sources. The study aims to understand which socio-economic and technological factors have the greatest impact on these decisions. Design/methodology/approach: The research was based on quantitative analysis conducted through a survey among representatives of agile organizations. The collected data was then subjected to statistical analysis, including the calculation of the Gini coefficient to assess the concentration of respondents' preferences. Findings: Research has shown that the development of new technologies and job creation are the most important determinants influencing decisions regarding the implementation of renewable energy sources. The results suggest that agile organizations give equal weight to different factors, which indicates a balanced approach to the energy transition. Research limitations/implications: The limitations of the research are the subjective nature of respondents' answers and the limited representativeness of the sample, which may affect the generalization of the results. In addition, dynamically changing technologies and regulations may affect the validity of the results in the future. Practical implications: The research results suggest that agile organizations should develop strategies that balance multiple determinants when implementing renewable energy sources. Investments in modern technologies and job creation can contribute to improved operational efficiency and market competitiveness. Social implications: The implementation of renewable energy sources supports sustainable development and contributes to environmental protection, which is gaining increasing public support. Organizations that engage in such activities can build a positive image as socially and ecologically responsible. Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels that use polycrystalline silicon cells are a promising technique for producing renewable energy, although research on the cells' efficiency and thermal control is still ongoing. This experimental research aims to investigate a novel way to improve power output and thermal performance by combining solar PV panels with burned fly-ash tiles. Made from burning industrial waste, torched fly ash has special qualities that make it useful for architectural applications. These qualities include better thermal insulation, strengthened structural integrity, and high energy efficiency. Our test setup shows that when solar PV panels are combined with torched fly-ash tiles, power generation rises by 7% and surface temperature decreases by 3% when compared to standard panels. The enhanced PV efficiency is ascribed to the outstanding thermal insulation properties of fly ash tiles and their capacity to control panel temperature. To ensure longevity and safety in building applications, the tiles employed in this study had a water absorption rate of 5.37%, flexural strength of 2.95 N/mm2, and slip resistance at 38 km/h. Furthermore, we find improved structural resilience and lower cooling costs when up to 30% of the sand in floor tiles is replaced with torched fly ash, which makes this method especially appropriate for sustainable buildings. Key performance indicators that show how effective these tiles are in maximizing energy use in buildings include thermal emissivity (0.874), solar reflectance (0.8), and solar absorption (0.256). While supporting more ecofriendly building techniques, this study highlights the advantages of utilizing burned fly ash in solar PV systems: enhanced power generation and thermal comfort. The main results open a greater potential for fly ash use in different building materials. The use of torched fly ash in building materials enhances thermal insulation and structural integrity while lowering cooling costs, making it an ideal choice for eco-friendly construction and highlighting the potential for further research into environmentally responsible, energy-efficient solutions. Since its launch in January 2021, Ki Culture's Waste and Materials Ki Book has been downloaded over 5,000 times by practitioners of cultural heritage worldwide, establishing the online sustainability manual as one of the leading guides for mitigating the environmental burden of materials we encounter in conserving cultural heritage. The sustainability manual initially focused on finding alternatives to reduce waste and lessen the environmental impact of the plastic materials we encounter in collections care and transport. This led to exploring emerging alternative materials such as bioplastics as potential replacements for petroleum-derived plastics. Terms such as 'biodegradable', 'compostable', 'green', 'environmentally friendly', and 'sustainable' are commonly used in the marketing strategies for bioplastics and biobased materials. However, the question arises: are these alternatives better options for the environment and cultural heritage than their plastic counterparts? Some of the materials highlighted in the Waste and Materials Ki Book showed evidence of greenwashing. What constitutes a sustainable material, and how do we identify and trust the 'green' alternatives available? By honing our criteria for environmentally responsible materials and examining the terminology associated with bioplastics, we can identify greenwashing. This paper critically evaluates so-called green alternatives in conservation, with a focus on greenwashing associated with polylactic acid (PLA).
