In the rest of the article we want to introduce modified Dirac equation with energy depended harmonic potential(EDP) with the framework of minimal length quantum mechanics.The purpose of this paper is to provide a general equation of the basic ideas and results of quantum gravity phenomenology in the nuclear physics. The energy of defined system has been reported.

Recently, multi-parameter potential has been introduced and had been discussed as special cases of other potential model, that is why we are interested to the study of such a potential. In order to study this potential, the D-dimensional Schrodinger has been presented in detail and the scattering state with any arbitrary J-state due to this potential has been investigated approximately. After this step, we have discussed analytically the scattering and bound state for some special cases in D-dimensional situations which play important roles in physics. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

The solutions of the Dirac equation with Modified Tietz and Modified Poschl-Teller scaler and vector potentials including the tensor interaction term for arbitrary spin-orbit quantum number κ are presented. We obtained the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions using the supersymmetry method. To show the accuracy of our results, we calculate the energy eigenvalues numerical for different values of n and κ. It is shown that these results are in good agreement with those found in the literature.

PurposeThis paper aims to investigate the extent/level of internet access, and use by academic staff in the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria, as a teaching/research tool.Dsign/methodology/approachA structured questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection, with academic staff in the University of Calabar as respondents.FindingsThe findings of the survey show extensive internet use by the respondents, although with a low level of access to the internet (26.92 per cent), as most of the respondents have access to the internet through a commercial internet cybercafé off campus, while only 3.08 and 1.54 per cent could access the internet in their offices and university library, respectively. The basic reasons for internet access, and use by the respondents, are for communication through e‐mail (16.87 per cent), teaching (15.66 per cent), and research related activities (14.58 per cent). The findings also indicated that although there exists a high level of skills in internet access, and use by the respondents, there is a need to organize regular formal user training by the university library (university management), for all academic staff in the University of Calabar, as well as each Nigerian university.Originality/valueThe paper recommends the provision of equitable internet access not only in the University of Calabar, but all Nigerian universities. Most significantly the paper advocates a national policy of providing internet access for all academic staff in their offices in Nigerian universities, and effective electronic collection development to supplement traditional print resources in the university libraries towards enhanced electronic access, and use by academic staff.

Curriculum contents in developing economies like Nigeria has the objectives of developing students’ higher order thinking skills, ability to acquire and utilize learning sources in the library, develop adequate competence in the use of needed information among others. It should aim as developing technological capability for handling information that would achieve these objectives. This study evaluates the information literacy and library-use programmes introduced in Nigerian universities to achieve the aforementioned objectives. An empirical work done on three Nigerian Universities, as a sample, compares their curriculum contents and explores ways that information technology can be integrated into them. Among the study findings is inadequate attention paid to information and technology literacy. One of the study’s recommendations is to give adequate attention to information and technology literacy without loading the students with unnecessary library technicalities, as the study found out. The study also presented curriculum structures that can improve the situation.

We investigate the approximate solution of the Dirac equation for a combination of Mobius square and Mie type potentials under the pseudospin symmetry limit by using supersymmetry quantum mechanics. We obtain the bound-state energy equation and the corresponding spinor wave functions in an approximate analytical manner. We comment on the system via various useful figures and tables.

In this paper, we obtain approximate analytical solutions of the Dirac equation for the shifted Hulthen potential within the framework of spin and pseudospin symmetry limits for arbitrary spin—orbit quantum number κ using the supersymmetry quantum mechanics. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding Dirac wave functions are obtained in closed forms.

The effects of various concentrations (0.01 to 10 mumol/L) of felodipine and verapamil on the peripheral sympathetic function were studied in perfused rat kidney preparations in vitro. Neither of these agents inhibited stimulus-induced 3H-noradrenaline (norepinephrine) release (at 0.5 and 2.0 Hz). Higher concentrations of felodipine (10 mumol/L) and verapamil (1 and 10 mumol/L) significantly potentiated the transmitter release at both frequencies of stimulation. Unlike phentolamine, felodipine 10 mumol/L enhanced the ability of exogenous noradrenaline to inhibit 3H-noradrenaline-release, indicating that this vasodilator did not antagonise prejunctional alpha 2-receptors. The effects of verapamil 1 mumol/L were similar to that of felodipine in this respect; however, verapamil in higher concentrations (10 mumol/L) produced slight but significant attenuation of exogenous noradrenaline-induced inhibition of the transmitter release. Both felodipine and verapamil produced concentration-dependent inhibition of the vasoconstrictor responses to exogenous noradrenaline. It is concluded from these studies that the effects of these agents on the transmitter release may not have any clinical significance, but their ability to attenuate vascular effects of noradrenaline could contribute to their antihypertensive properties.

The profile distribution of total, DTPA‐ and 0.1N HCl‐extractable Cu was determined in 11 Nigerian soil profiles formed from various parent materials including the coastal plain sands, shales, basalt, granite and banded gneiss. Total Cu ranged from 7 to 72 ppm with a mean of 35 ppm0 The soils formed from basalt had the highest values while those on coastal plains had the least content. Generally, there was a higher content in the subsoils than in the surface horizons. The total Cu significantly correlated with percent clay and the free oxide contents of Fe and Mn. DTPA ‐ and 0.1N HCl‐extractable Cu ranged from 0.08 to 2.81 ppm and 0.10 to 7.78 ppm, respectively. Soils on metamorphic rocks gave the highest values of DTPA‐extractable Cu. The DTPA‐extractable Cu ‐was only related to pH but the acid extractable Cu was associated with total Cu, clay, free Fe2O3 and MnO2 contents.

Background: Schools are high-risk settings for SARS-CoV-2 transmission, but necessary for children's educational and social-emotional wellbeing. Previous research suggests that wastewater monitoring can detect SARS-CoV-2 infections in controlled residential settings with high levels of accuracy. However, its effective accuracy, cost, and feasibility in non-residential community settings is unknown., Methods: The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness and accuracy of community-based passive wastewater and surface (environmental) surveillance to detect SARS-CoV-2 infection in neighborhood schools compared to weekly diagnostic (PCR) testing. We implemented an environmental surveillance system in nine elementary schools with 1700 regularly present staff and students in southern California. The system was validated from November 2020 - March 2021., Findings: In 447 data collection days across the nine sites 89 individuals tested positive for COVID-19, and SARS-CoV-2 was detected in 374 surface samples and 133 wastewater samples. Ninety-three percent of identified cases were associated with an environmental sample (95% CI: 88% - 98%); 67% were associated with a positive wastewater sample (95% CI: 57% - 77%), and 40% were associated with a positive surface sample (95% CI: 29% - 52%). The techniques we utilized allowed for near-complete genomic sequencing of wastewater and surface samples., Interpretation: Passive environmental surveillance can detect the presence of COVID-19 cases in non-residential community school settings with a high degree of accuracy., Funding: County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency, National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Centers for Disease Control.
