The present research study investigated the catch-per-unit-effort (CPUE, kg/h) and biomass of Par-apenaeus longirostris in consideration of three parameters, i.e. seasons, regions, and depth levels. Beam trawls were used to collect the specimens at a total of 229 sampling stations in the Sea of Marmara between September 2011 and July 2014. In the Sea of Marmara, the mean CPUE of P. longirostris was calculated to be 8.4±0.5 kg h-1 , and the mean biomass to be 354 kg/km-2. The mean CPUE value was at its highest in summer and autumn, and the lowest was observed in winter and spring. The by-region mean CPUE value of P. longirostris was the highest in the northern Sea of Marmara (14.3±1.9 kg h-1), and the lowest was detected in the south (3.6±1.0 kg h-1). The highest biomass value was found at a depth of 50-100 m, in the northern Sea of Marmara, while the lowest was calculated in the southeastern Sea of Marmara.

Livoneca sinuata Koelbel, 1879 (Isopoda, Cymothoidae) is known from the Mediterranean Sea. In this study, this species is redescribed and transferred to the genus Elthusa according to the current status of this: body weakly twisted, antennula shorter than antenna, posterior margin of cephalon not trilobed, pleonite 1 slightly narrower than pleonite 2, maxilliped with oostegital lobe and pleopods all lamellar, without lobes or folds. This species was collected on the red bandfish, Cepola macrophthalma, and reported for the first time in the Sea of Marmara, Turkey. The species is also photographed for the first time on the host.

The aim of thisstudy is to determine the effects of red mullet gillnets that commonly used inTurkish waters on sustainability of non target fish species. For these purpose,surveys were realized with 18 - 20 - 22 mm nominal bar length red mullet gillnetsbetweenDecember 2008 and May 2010 along the north Aegean Sea coasts (5-30 m). SELECTmethod was used with five different model (Normal location, normal scale,log-normal, gamma and bi-modal) for evaluating selectivity parameters of nontarget fish species. Selectivity models were determined as bi-modal for Serranus scriba and Symphodus tinca, log normal for Scorpaenaporcus and Spicara maena andgamma for Pagellus acarne. Optimumcatch lengths and spread values and selectivity curves were given for 5 species.Results showed that use of a largermesh size over the 22 mm mesh is important for ensuring stock sustainability ofthe non target fish species., Bu çalışmada yaygınolarak kullanılan barbun uzatma ağlarının hedef dışı balık türlerininsürdürülebilirliğine olan etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla,kuzey Ege Denizi kıyılarında (5-30 m.) Aralık 2008 – Mayıs 2010 tarihleriarasında 18 – 20 – 22 mm göz genişliğine sahip barbun uzatma ağları iledenemeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Hedef dışı türlerin seçicilik parametrelerinintespitinde 5 farklı model ile (normal location, normal scale, gamma, log-normalve bi-modal) SELECT tahmin metodu kullanılmıştır. Yakalanan çizgili hani veçırçır için bi-modal, iskorpit ve izmarit için log-normal, yabani mercan içinise gamma en uygun seçicilik modeli olarak belirlenmiştir. 5 tür için optimumyakalama boyları ve yayılım değerleri ile seçicilik eğrileri verilmiştir.Çalışma sonucunda barbun avcılığında kullanılan uzatma ağlarında ağ gözgenişliğinin 22 mm’nin üzerine çıkarılmasının ilgili türlerin stoksürdürülebilirliği bakımından önemli olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Terra firma-forme dermatosis (TFFD) is an uncommon disorder of keratinization with an unknown etiology in which patients present with dirt-like lesions that are resistant to washing. A 6-year old girl presented with the complaint of an asymptomatic brownish black dirt-like eruption on her body. Her parents reported no response to washing with soap and water. Dermatologic examination revealed brown hyperpigmented patches on the trunk and abdominal region. TFFD was suspected, and isopropyl alcohol was applied to the patient's lesions. All lesions completely disappeared after rubbing with alcohol. Terra firma-forme dermatosis is a relatively recently described entity that is much more common than might be expected when surveying the medical literature. With the very few reports found in the literature about TFFD, we believe that an increased awareness of this entity among primary care physicians would help decrease unnecessary worries or medical procedures, since TFFD lesions simply resolve by rubbing with isopropyl alcohol.

This report describes the case of a 60-year-old man with nonsyndromic multiple basal cell carcinomas that responded to imiquimod 5% cream. The patient had no additional anomalies suggesting any syndromes associated with multiple basal cell carcinomas. By applying the agent 5 times a week for 20 weeks, we obtained good clinical results, and we confirmed the improvement with histopathologic examination. We suggest that patients with multiple basal cell carcinomas should be interviewed about and tested for the associated syndromes, and topical imiquimod should be kept in mind as an alternative therapy choice in these patients.
