Student life in the era of globalization involves technology as a tool in carrying out daily activities. However, the decline in direct interaction between individuals is an important problem that needs to be analyzed. This research aims to examine the relationship between empathy and the quality of interpersonal relationships in students, with a focus on four dimensions: Support, Conflict, Communication, and Interaction. The method used in this research is quantitative, with a population of students at Tarumanagara University. The sample consisted of 260 students taken randomly using probability random sampling techniques. Data was collected through a questionnaire that measured the level of empathy using the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) scale and the quality of interpersonal relationships using the Quality of Relationship Inventory (QRI) scale. Data analysis was carried out using the Spearman correlation test. The research results show a correlation coefficient of -0.150 with a significance value of 0.015, which indicates a significant negative relationship between empathy and the quality of interpersonal relationships, even with a weak level of relationship strength. Thus, it can be concluded that the higher the empathy students have, the lower the quality of interpersonal relationships they have. This finding contradicts the theory which states that there is a positive relationship between these two variables. Teachers are transitioning from online learning to offline learning, a shift that naturally leads to accumulated stress, significantly heightening the risk of burnout. Teachers burnout is characterized as a prolonged response to emotional stress in the workplace, which can eventually have a detrimental effect on teachers' self-efficacy. Conversely, teachers' self-efficacy is positively associated with their empathetic abilities, defined as the capacity to understand and share the emotions of others. Consequently, the researcher selected teachers' empathy as a mediator in exploring the connection between teachers' burnout and self-efficacy. This study adopts a correlational and nonexperimental quantitative methodology, gathering data through surveys administered to 121 elementary school teachers in Jakarta, aged between 21 and 55, who teach grades 1 to 6. Self- Efficacy Scale, assesses teachers' self-efficacy levels. Manual Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT) measures teacher burnout, while the Basic Empathy Scale in Adults (BES-A) evaluates teacher empathy. The research findings indicate three key results: a negative association between burnout and self-efficacy among elementary school teachers in Jakarta (β = -0,3216, p = 0,0035), a negative impact of empathy on reducing burnout in this group (β = -0,377, p = 0,0032), and the mediating role of empathy between burnout and self-efficacy in elementary school teachers in Jakarta (β = -0,0013, p = 0,9411). The concept of wicked problems is continuously gaining more attention due basically to the inability of political authorities in certain nations to address some issues that have lingered for decades. This justifies the scholarly interrogation of various strategies adopted to solve these problems as well as the realization of their failure. Narrowing it down to Nigeria, this paper sufficiently contends that poverty, Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, herders-farmers crisis and secessionist agitation fit into the wicked problems; hence, the study primarily investigates the efficacy of the 4Es in Public Administration (a new model) in solving these wicked problems in Nigeria. Adopting a literature-based method, the paper argues compellingly on the need for the adoption of the 4Es in public administration in Nigeria and also highlights its implementation strategies. However, bureaucratic resistance is examined to be a pontential challenge to the implementation of the model in the country. Consequently, the paper proposes for sensitization, participation and gradual implementation of the model among others. Tasarım, mimari üretim sürecinde ilerleyerek gelişen ve farklı görüşlerin birikimini barındıran bir olgudur. Mimarlık eğitiminde tasarım, sonuç ürün oluşturmanın yanı sıra sürecin de tasarlandığı, devingen ve deneysel bir yapıdadır. Bu çalışmada, mimari proje tasarım süreci; mimari promenad kurgusu çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, mimari proje atölyelerinin yürütülme süreçlerini ve kullanılan stratejileri paylaşarak mimarlık pedagojisine katkı sağlamaktır. Mimari proje stüdyosunda, Le Corbusier’in tanımladığı çok boyutlu bir kavram olan mimari promenad ile mekânı algılama, görme, deneyimleme ve tasarlama üzerine pratikler yapılmıştır. Görselleştirme aşamasında storyboardlar ve ilham panoları kullanılarak mekân dizinleri oluşturulmuştur. Kavramlar ve duygular aracılığıyla mekânı karakterize ederken empatik yaklaşım, hareketle deneyimleme, promenad ve sinematografik senaryo gibi kavramlar öne çıkmıştır. Yöntem olarak içerik analizi kullanılmış ve öğrencilerin proje süreçleri boyunca geliştirdikleri materyaller ve tasarımlar sistematik bir şekilde incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın materyalini, 2019-2020 Bahar Döneminde 4. yarıyıl öğrencilerinin proje süreçleri ve sonuç ürünleri oluşturmuştur. Trabzon kent merkezinde, tarihi Kostaki Konağı’nın yakınında yer alan ve yoğun yaya trafiği olan kentsel alan, öğrencilerin tarihsel ve çevresel faktörleri analiz ederek promenad önerileri geliştirmesi için seçilmiştir. Bu süreçte, öğrencilerin kentsel bağlamı ve mekânsal ilişkileri empati ve hareket deneyimiyle bütünleştirerek özgün, bağlam odaklı mekânlar tasarladığı, bunun da mimarlık eğitiminde süreç odaklı stüdyo pratiklerinin önemini desteklediği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, voleybol hakemlerinin empati düzeyleri ile işe adanmışlıkları arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olup olmadığını incelemektir. Araştırmanın yöntemi, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeline dayanılarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklem grubunu, İç Anadolu bölgesinde aktif şekilde görev yapan 156 kadın, 65 erkek voleybol hakemi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada voleybol hakemlerinin empati düzeyleri ile işe adanmışlık düzeylerini belirlemek için “Empati Düzeyi Belirleme Ölçeği” ile “İşe Angaje (Adapte) Olma Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. The study aims to evaluate the empathy levels of Faculty of Dental Students according to various demographic factors. The study included 435 students studying at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Dentistry. Students were asked to fill out a questionnaire containing demographic information and Jefferson Doctor Empathy Scale Student Version (JSPE-S) questions. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using the SPSS 25.0 package program. Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test were used for data analysis (p<0.05). The highest mean empathy score was in the 3rd grade and the lowest in the 5th grade. The difference between 5th and 4th grades (p=0.021), 5th and 3rd grades (p=0.003), and 1 st and 3rd grades (p=0.011) in terms of mean empathy scores was statistically significant. The difference in empathy scores between female and male students is statistically significant (p=0.022). Improving empathy skills is essential for fostering healthier communication between dentistry students and patients and it is believed that its inclusion in the curriculum would be beneficial. Aim: This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting the attitudes of healthcare professionals toward individuals with mental illness. Material and Methods: This study is a descriptive cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 153 healthcare workers working in a hospital in Aksaray between December 2021 and May 2022 who met the inclusion criteria and agreed to participate in the study without sample selection. The data were collected using the "Personal Information Form", "Community Attitudes towards Individuals with Mental Problems Scale" and "Empathy Level Determination Scale". In the evaluation of the data, descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, and stepwise regression analysis were performed. Results: When the findings were evaluated, the attitudes of healthcare professionals towards individuals with mental illness were found to be negative. It is seen that empathic tendency decreases as the negative attitude towards mental illness develops. As a result of the regression analysis, the variable of thinking that the individual with mental illness is aggressive explains 8.1% of the community mental health ideology scores, 14.3% when the empathic tendency variable is added to the model, and 16% when the variable "would you rent your house to someone with mental problems assuming that he/she is a landlord?" is added to the model. Conclusion: It will be important to plan health services to increase the empathy level of health professionals, which is effective in developing positive attitudes towards individuals with mental illness. Health communication is an interdisciplinary concept and set of practices that aims to explain the strategic importance of communication in addressing the health issues that we both directly experience and are indirectly affected by in the field of health, and to encourage applications towards this end. In the face of rising healthcare costs, the health field was integrated into the market system in the 1970s, with the aim of balancing its income and expenditure on the one hand, and making a profit from it on the other. In relation to this goal, the health services approach replaced the medical approach. This new approach aim to expand the field of health as a market by associating almost every aspect of life with health and including them in the scope of health. Health communication in the contemporary sense emerged at such a time, in an economic and political context driven by global dynamics. While health communication is beneficial in addressing health-related issues, its role as a means of legitimizing new health approaches driven by global macro dynamics creates a paradoxical situation. These dynamics, which are the primary determinants of increasing health problems, especially health inequalities, inherently limit the solutions that can be developed through health communication. This is a rather complex situation. Although it is aimed to develop strategic solutions to the problems in the field of health through health communication by neglecting this situation, it is still difficult to achieve this due to both the inherent uncertainties of the diseasehealth phenomenon and the problem-creating nature of the communication phenomenon itself. In addition, the concept of 'crisis pandemic' developed in this article highlights the interconnectedness of the problems in the field of health with other global problems, and therefore argues that these problems cannot be solved by developing solutions to the health system problems alone. The study examines the historical development of health communication and discusses the challenges that this discipline faces in providing solutions to the problems in the field of health and presenting successful practical examples in today's world. Bu durum, insan varlığının zenginlik ve çeşitliliği içinde, her bireyin benzersiz bir hikâyeye sahip olduğu evrensel bir gerçekliği yansıtmaktadır. Although there are studies on the effect of alexithymia on expressed emotion, emotion expression in people with alexithymia was not specifically examined. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between alexithymia and emotional expression styles and whether emotional intelligence and empathy mediate this relationship. A total of 254 teacher candidates were evaluated using the Toronto Alexithymia Scale, Empathy Quotient Scale, Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire, and Emotional Expression Styles Inventory. We performed the analyses using structural equation models. Our results revealed that alexithymia indirectly affected the expression style of happiness and sadness emotions negatively and emotional intelligence and empathy played a mediator role in this effect of alexithymia. Also, an indirect positive relationship was identified between alexithymia and anger expression style, and it was found that this relationship was mediated by emotional intelligence. Accordingly, emotional expression styles were also related to other variables. The present study also determined that alexithymia level was significantly and negatively correlated with emotional intelligence and empathy levels. Objective Mental illnesses are a significant public health problem worldwide. This study aims to determine university students' attitudes toward mental illnesses and examine their relationship with empathy. Material and Method A cross-sectional study was conducted in Turkey between September 2022 and April 2023 through an online survey. In the 2022-2023 academic year, six hundred sixty-six university students completed the questionnaire, including the Sociodemographic Data Form, Beliefs Towards Mental Illness Scale, and Empathy Scale. It was questioned whether the participants had taken a course on mental illness and whether they would share it with someone if they had a mental illness. Results According to gender, the median Empathy Scale score of females was statistically significantly higher than that of males (p=0.085, p=<0.001, respectively). The Beliefs about Mental Illness Scale and Empathy Scale scores did not differ according to the department of study (p=0,097, p=0,150, respectively). Among the medical faculty students, the Beliefs Towards Mental Illness Scale score was statistically significantly higher in students who did not take a psychiatry internship than in those who did (p=0.025). There was a low significant negative correlation between the total score of the Beliefs about Mental Illness Scale and the Empathy Scale score (rho=-0,097; p=0,012). Conclusion University students' attitudes towards mental illnesses differed according to the year of education and the status of taking courses on mental illnesses. Bu araştırmanın amacı, bireyi bir bütün olarak kabul ederek yetişkinlerin biliş, duyuş ve davranış boyutlarını kapsayan tarihsel empati eğilimlerini belirlemek için geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı geliştirmektir. Dört farklı çalışma grubu kullanılan bu ölçek geliştirme çalışmasında, her bir grup, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir. Çalışma grubu ise Türkiye’nin farklı illerinde yaşayan toplam 1132 yetişkin bireyden oluşmuştur. Çalışma grubu açımlayıcı faktör analizleri (AFA) için 322, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi için (DFA) 381, ölçeğin ölçüt-bağıntılı geçerlik çalışmaları için 356 yetişkin bireyden oluşmaktadır. Ayrıca test-tekrar test güvenirlik için çalışma grubu ise Marmara bölgesindeki bir devlet üniversitesinin eğitim fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 73 bireyden oluşmaktadır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda toplam varyansın %57.25’ini açıklayan “biliş”, “duyuş” ve “davranış” olmak üzere üç alt faktörden oluşan 16 maddelik bir ölçme aracı elde edilmiştir. Ölçeğin tamamı için hesaplanan iç tutarlılık güvenirlik katsayısının .88; birinci faktör için .85, ikinci faktör için .82 ve üçüncü faktör için ise .80 olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ölçeğin test-tekrar test güvenirlik katsayısının .77, birinci faktör için .72, ikinci faktör için .73 ve üçüncü faktör için .70; alt ölçeklerin madde-toplam korelasyonlarının .48 ile .62 arasında değiştiği ve %27'lik alt-üst grupların ortalamaları arasındaki tüm farkların anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak yetişkin bireylerin tarihsel empati eğilim düzeylerini tespit etmek için geliştirilen “Tarihsel Empati Ölçeği-Yetişkin Formu” ölçek geliştirme çalışmalarının psikometrik ölçütlerini iyi derecede karşıladığından geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğu saptanmıştır. Empati kavramının kuramsal yapısıyla da uyumlu olduğu görülen ölçek; bilişsel, davranışsal ve duyuşsal olmak üzere üç boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Geliştirilen bu ölçek ile yetişkin bireylerin tarihsel empati eğilimlerini belirlemeye veya ilgili kavramlarla açıklamaya yönelik ilişkisel çalışmalar yapılabilir.
