In this study, effect of air pressure on nanofiber diameter and morphology was studied for solution blowing technique. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis was realized via ANSYS (R) Fluent software, and the results were compared with experimental solutions. The results showed that an increase in air inlet pressure from 100 kPa to 300 kPa has significant effect on nanofiber diameter and morphology. In contrast, as the air inlet pressure increases above 300 kPa to 600 kPa, both nanofiber diameter increases, and the fiber agglomerations are observed due to high turbulence intensity. The droplets were observed at 100 kPa air inlet pressure due to low driving force applied to the polymer solution. The effects of air pressure on nanofiber diameter and morphology have been investigated by using finite volume method, and the results are compared with the experimental results.

Objective: The aim of this study is to determine stress evaluation of root canal wall during shaping curved canals with ProTaper and HeroShaper systems by using three-dimensional finite element universal. Methods: The geometries of the ProTaper Universal and HeroShaper Ni-Ti rotary systems’ selected files were created using three-dimensional finite element modelsThe three-dimensional FEA model within a curved canal was established by integrating a simulated canal and natural tooth. A micro-focus CT scanner was used to scan the models. After integration and modification a final three-dimensional model with a smooth surface and mostly centered canal was established. The stresses on the instrument during simulated shaping of a root canal were analyzed numerically by using a three-dimensional finite element package, LS-DYNA, taking into account the nonlinear mechanical behavior of the nickel-titanium material. Stress distribution in the instruments and the canal walls was recorded during simulated shaping. Results: With ProTaper file system, stress concentrations were determined towards the outer aspect of the curvature in the apical portion of the canal but in HeroShaper system stress was more concentrated in the middle portion of the canal and were less than ProTaper model. Conclusion: HeroShaper files cut more efficiently and generated less stress on the canal walls than ProTaper files because of their possitive rake angle. It was observed that there was stress concentration towards the outer aspect of the curvature in the apical portion of the canal with the ProTaper file system. This shows us that these files are more feasible for apical transportation.Key words: Curved canals, HeroShaper, ProTaper, finite element analysis, stress, Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı eğri kök kanallarında ProTaper Universal ve HeroShaper sistemleri ile şekillendirme yapılırken kanal duvarlarında oluşan streslerin üç boyutlu sonlu elemanlar analizi ile belirlenmesidir. Yöntem: ProTaper Universal ve HeroShaper Ni-Ti döner alet sistemlerine ait eğelerin geometrileri üç boyutlu sonlu elemanlar yöntemi ile oluşturulmuştur. Eğri kök kanalına sahip dişin üç boyutlu sonlu elemanlar modeli, doğal diş ve yapay kanalın birleştirilmesi ile oluşturulmuştur. Modellerin taranması için mikro-fokus CT kullanılmıştır. Birleştirme ve modifikasyondan sonra düzgün yüzeyli ve kanalı merkezde seyreden üç boyutlu model elde edilmiştir. Şekillendirme benzetimi sırasında kanal duvarlarında oluşan stresler LS-DYNA sonlu elemanlar programı ile ve nikel titanyum materyalinin non-lineer mekanik özellikleri dikkate alınarak kayıt edilmiştir. Bulgular: ProTaper eğe sistemi ile şekillendirmede kanalın apikal kısmında eğimin dışına doğru stres yoğunluğu oluştuğu ancak HeroShaper ile yapılan şekillendirme benzetiminde orta kısımda ve ProTaper modelinden daha az stres oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar: HeroShaper eğe modelleri kanal duvarlarında ProTaper eğe modellerine göre daha az stres oluşturmuştur. HeroShaper eğe modellerinin kesme etkinliğinin yüksek olması sebebiyle dentin direnci azalmaktadır. ProTaper eğe modelleri ile şekillendirme benzetimi yapılan kanalarda stres oluşumunun, özellikle apikal alanda eğriliğin dışına doğru artmış olduğu görülmüştür. FDMyöntemi ile prototip üretebilen bir makine tasarlanıp üretilmiştir. Üç eksenlikartezyen robot tasarımı ile prototip makinenin üretimi gerçekleştirilmiştir.Üretimin bu aşamasında makinenin bilgisayar yardımıyla istenilen hareketleriyapmasını sağlayacak olan CAD/CAM yazılımı oluşturulmuştur. Bu yazılımsayesinde makine oluşturulmak istenen nesneyi parçalara bölerek ABS flament telile bu parçaları doldurmuştur. Ortaya çıkan taslak makine daha sonra reeltestlerden geçirilerek çeşitli parçalar üretilmiştir. Projede üretilen parçalargöz önüne alındığında başlangıç hedeflerine ulaşıldığı görülmüştür.

Tübitak'ın desteklediği buçalışmada FDM yöntemi ile prototip üretebilen bir makine tasarlanıpüretilmiştir. Bu makine bilgisayar kontrollü olup, alışılagelmiş üç eksenlikartezyen sistemine teli süren dördüncü eksen ,C ekseni , ilave edilerekkullanılmıştır. Prototip makinede sistemin başarıyla çalışması, alt sistemlerindoğru olarak üretilmesine bağlıdır. Bu üretim içinde var olan mevcut yapılarincelenir ve uygun olanlar tercih edilir. Bu alt sistemleri kartezyen robot,ekstrüder kafa, telin imal edilmesi, taban köpüğü ve yazılım olaraksıralayabiliriz. Bunlardan bazıları bilinen yöntemlerdir. Örneğin kartezyenrobot uygulamaları yaygındır. Bazıları ise prototip makineye özgünsistemlerdir. Örneğin ekstrüder kafa ve telin imal edilme yöntemleri sadece busisteme yöneliktir ve kritik unsurlar olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada ABSmalzemeden üretilen telin değişik kombinasyonlarda gösterdiği değişikdavranışlar incelenmiştir. Sürekli akışı sağlayabilecek bir kombinasyon eldeedilmeye çalışılmıştır.&nbsp

Deneysel ve sayısal çalışmalardan elde edilen sonuçların ışığı altında, değişik yüzey pürüzlülüğü modelleri tasarlandı ve bu şekilde yeni örnekler üretildi. Yüzey pürüzlülüğü modellerinin şekillendirme sırasında ayrılma davranışına olan etkileri hem sayısal hem de deneysel yöntemlerle gözlendi. 11 ÖZET Bu çalışmada sığır femurunun mekanik özelikleri araştırılmıştır. ilk önce, kemiğin yapısı literatürde incelenmiştir- Çekme, basma, eğme ve sertlik gibi standard mekanik deneyleri gerçekleştirebilmek için her bir teste ait gerekli numune boyutları belirlendikten sonra bu deneyler dikkatli bir şekilde tekrar edilerek yapılmıştır. Deneylerden elde edilen sonuçlar literatürdeki diğer çalışmalardaki sonuçlarla beklendiği gibi az farklılıklar göstermektedir. Deneysel çalışmaların yanısıra, mekanik özelikleri belirleyen teorik çalışma da yapılmıştır. Bunun için, tüm bir dana femurunun üç noktalı (3-P) eğme deneyini simule eden bir gerilme analizi çalışması yapılmıştır. Bu programda daha önce deneysel çalışmalarda elde edilen mekanik özellikler veri olarak kullanılmıştır. Gerilme analiz programının verdiği sonuçlar daha önce yapılan eğme deneyleriyle uyum göstermiştir. Deneylerle elde edilen mekanik özelliklerin hem literatürle hemde gerilme analiz programıyla uyum göstermesi, bu sonuçların canlı kemiklere ek olarak kullanılan kalsiyum fosfat seramiklerinin üretiminde referans olarak alınabilmesini sağlamıştır. üretilen kalsiyum fosfat seramikler ayrıca denenmiştirler. Numune hazırlama işlemleri sırasında elde edilen kemik tozları değerlendirilerek Kemik Seramiği üretimi gerçekleştirilmiştir. üretilen bu seramikler hem yarı şeffaf hem de diğer seramiklere oranla daha yüksek tokluğa sahiptirler. ABSTRACT In this study mechanical properties of bovine femur were investigated. First of all, structure of bone was investigated by means of literature. In order to perform standard mechanical testing such as tension, compression, bending and hardness tests specimen sizes for each tests were determined and then all of these tests were done carefully and repeatedly. The results obtained from thes-e tests vary in an expected range with a small deviation from the other studies. Transformatör, gerilimi bir seviyeden diğer bir seviyeye çevirmeye yarayanelektromanyetik bir cihazdır. Bir devredeki elektrik enerjisini sabit frekans altında başka bir devreye elektromanyetik endüksiyon yoluyla aktarmaya ve gerilim-akım değerini şebekeler arasında artırıp azaltmaya yarayan hareketsiz elektrik makinalarıdır. Özellikle iletim ve dağıtım şebekelerinde gerilim yükseltici ve düşürücü uygulamalarda, işletmelerin verimliliği açısından, yüksek verimli transformatör kullanmak günümüzde büyük öneme sahiptir.Transformatörler kullanım amacı, güç, gerilim, soğutma tipi, izolasyon tipi gibi birçok kategoriye ayrılır. Transformatörler genel olarak, izolasyon malzemelerine göre kuru tip ve yağlı tip olmak üzere 2 tipte kategorilendirilebilir. Buna ek olarak, kullanım amacına göre transformatörler güç ve dağıtım trafoları olarak ikiye ayrılır. Trafoyu yüzeysel olarak bölümlere ayırdığımızda, elektriksel ve mekanik yapılar mevcuttur. Elektriksel yapı, aktif elemanların bulunduğu çekirdek ve iletkenlerin yer aldığı, elektrik enerjisinin aktarımının gerçekleştiği kısımdır. Bu elektrik enerjisi aktarımı esnasında transformatörün yüklenme yüzdesine bağlı olarak iletken kayıpları ve bundan bağımsız olarak çekirdek kayıpları ortaya çıkmaktadır. Ortaya çıkan bu kayıplar aktif kısım olarak adlandırılan yapının,izolasyon yağının ve dolayısıyla transformatör kazanının ısınmasına sebep olur. Bu ısınmanın etkilerini giderebilecek faktörler arasında kazanın boyutu, malzeme cinsi ve soğutma tipine bağlı olarak fiziksel yapısı bulunur.Bu tez çalışmasında örnek olarak bir yağlı tip dağıtım trafosu ele alınacaktır. Çalışmada önce yağlı tip dağıtım trafoları ile ilgili literatür araştırması yapılacak, daha sonra bu tez çalışmasına paralel olarak bir tasarım geliştirilecek, termal ve yapısal simülasyon çalışmaları ile bu tasarım için optimum sonuçlar elde edilerek, tasarıma uygun bir prototip çalışması yapılacaktır. Elde edilen prototip üzerinde çalışma ortamına bağlı olarak mekanik parçaların zorlanması üzerinde çalışmalar yapılacaktır. Bahsedilen prototip ürünün ısınma testi sonuçları ile bu tezde yapılan teorik hesaplama ve analiz sonuçları karşılaştırılacaktır. Böylece ürünün araştırılıp simülasyon ve tasarım sonuçlarının ortaya konulması, kullanımının iyileştirilme amacına ve üretiminin getireceği muhtemel olumlu ve olumsuz etkileri vurgulamaya yöneliktir. A transformer is an electromagnetic device that converts voltage from one level to another. They are stationary electrical machines that are used to transfer the electrical energy in a circuit to another circuit under a fixed frequency by electromagnetic induction and to increase or decrease the voltage-current value between the networks. It is of great importance to use high-efficiency transformers in terms of efficiency of enterprises, especially in voltage booster and lowering applications in transmission and distribution networks.Transformers are divided into categories such as purpose of use, power, voltage, cooling and insulation type. In general, transformers can be categorized into 2 types as dry type and oily type according to insulation materials. In addition, transformers are divided into power and distribution transformers according to their intended use. When dividing the transformer into sections superficially, there are electrical and mechanical structures. The electrical structure is the part where the active elements are located, the core and the conductors, and the transfer of electrical energy takes place. During this electrical energy transfer, conductor and core losses occur depending on the load percentage of the transformer. These losses cause heating of the so-called active part, the insulation oil, and the transformer tank. Among the factors that can eliminate the effects of this heating are the tank size, the type of material and its physical structure depending on the cooling type.In this thesis, an oil type distribution transformer will be discussed as an example. First of all, a literature search will be made on oil-type distribution transformers, then a design will be developed in parallel with this thesis, optimum results for this design will be obtained with thermal and structural simulation studies, and a prototype study will be made in accordance with the design. On the prototype obtained, studies will be carried out on the stress of mechanical parts depending on the working environment. The heating test results of it will be compared with the results of the theoretical calculation and analysis made in this thesis. Researching the product and revealing the simulation and design results is aimed at emphasizing the purpose of improving its use and the possible positive and negative effects.

Kompozit malzemeler hafif ve dayanıklı olma özelliğinden dolayı birçok alanda yapısal malzeme olarak tercih edilmektedir. Bu sebeplerle, kompozit malzemelerin üretim yöntemleri geliştirilmektedir fakat otomasyona uyarlansa da henüz kalıp ile imalat ihtiyacından kurtulamamışlardır. Özellikle dirsekler ve benzeri açılı ürünlerin üretimi kalıp ihtiyacından dolayı maliyetlidir. Ayrıca kompozit dirseklerin üretimi filament sarma yöntemiyle kısıtlı olarak yapılmaktadır. Filament sarma yönteminde dirsek geometrisinin tek bir doğrultuda olmamasından dolayı sarım açısı ve sarım stratejisi sınırlı olarak geodezik ve geodezik olmayan şekillerde yapılabilmektedir. Bu şekilde yapılan sarmada, kalıbın bağlantı bölgesinden dolayı tam dik açıda sarım yapılamamaktadır. Bu da dayanım konusunda düşüşe sebep olmaktadır. Ayrıca sarım stratejisinde dirseğin etrafında tam bir simetrik helisel sarım sağlanamamaktadır. Bu kısıtları aşmak için eklemeli imalat yöntemleri umut vaat etmektedir. Fakat tek başına eklemeli imalat yöntemini kullanmak problemi çözmekte yeterli olmamaktadır. Öncelikle kalıpsız imalat yapabilmek ve muadil kompozit dirsekler ile rekabet edilebilir ürün elde edebilmek için, fotopolimer reçine ve sürekli fiber elyaf kullanarak ultra violet kürleme yöntemiyle kompozit üretimi tercih edilmiştir. Bu sebeple özel bir takım tasarımı ve üretimi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonrasında, optimum üretim parametreleri ve mekanik özellikler incelenmiştir. Son olarak, dirsek geometrisinden dolayı geleneksel üç eksende dilimleme işlemlerinden farklı stratejiler gerekmektedir. Bu sebeple düzlemsel olmayan dilimleme işlemi gerçekleştirilmiştir ve katmanlar halinde helisel sarım yapılmıştır. Tüm bunların yanı sıra filament sarma işleminde kullanılmayan fakat eklemeli imalat yönteminde uygulanan iç boşluklu yapı oluşturulmuştur. Böylece, farklı doluluk oranlarında, farklı fiber yoğunluğunda, farklı fiber sarım açılarında 90° açılı dirsekler üretilmiştir ve iç basınç dayanım testine tabi tutularak test edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, bu yöntemle üretilen dirseklerde, kolay şekillendirme, istikrarlı ürün kalitesi, makul eksenel mukavemet ve çevrelenmiş mukavemet oranı elde edilebilmektedir. Composite materials are preferred as structural materials in many areas due to their lightness and durability. For these reasons, the production methods of composite materials are developing, but although they are adapted to automation, they have not yet got rid of the need for molds for production. Especially the production of elbows and similar angled products is costly due to need for molds. In addition, production of composite elbows is limited by filament winding method. Due to the fact that the elbow geometry is not in a single direction in the filament winding method, the winding angle and winding strategy can be limited to geodesic and non-geodesic. In this way of winding, it is not possible to wind exactly at right angles due to the connection area of the mold. This causes a decrease in strength. In addition, a fully symmetrical helical winding around the elbow cannot be achieved in the winding strategy. Additive manufacturing methods are promising to overcome these limitations. However, using the additive manufacturing method alone is not enough to solve the problem. First of all, in order to be able to manufacture without molds and to obtain products that can compete with equivalent composite elbows, composite production by ultra violet curing method using photopolymer resin and continuous fiber fiber was preferred. For this reason, a special tool design and production was carried out. Afterwards, optimum production parameters and mechanical properties were investigated. Finally, different strategies are required from traditional three axes slicing operations due to elbow geometry. For this reason, non-planar slicing is performed and helical winding is made in layers. In addition to all these, a hollow structure, which is not used in filament winding but applied in the additive manufacturing method, has been created. Thus, 90° angled elbows with different filling rates, different fiber densities, different fiber winding angles were produced and tested by subjecting to the internal pressure strength test. As a result, elbows produced by this method can be easily formed, stable product quality, reasonable axial strength and circumferential strength ratio.

Bu tez çalışması kendi üretimimiz olan SLA tipi 3B yazıcıda üretimi yapılabilecek polimer bazlı reçinenin sentezlenmesini ve sentezlenen reçinenin esnek ve biyouyumlu hale getirilmesini amaçlar. Bu amaç doğrultusunda tez 3 aşamaya ayrılmaktadır. İlk olarak SLA tip 3B yazıcının tasarımı ve üretimi yapılmıştır ve kalibrasyonu gerçekleştirilmiştir. İkinci aşamada ise yazıcıda basılacak ve UV ışıkla kürleşebilecek polimer reçine bileşenlerinin tespit edilerek sentezi yapılmıştır. Sentezlenen reçine ile denemeler yapıldıktan sonra nano kompozit üretimi yapılmıştır. Son olarak ise biyouyumlu ve esnek yapıya sahip reçinenin sentezi yapılmış ve üretilen malzemenin biyouyumlulukları incelenmiştir.Yazıcının üretiminde UV ışık kaynağı olarak DLP tipi projektör kullanılmıştır. Kullanılacak reçinenin pahalı olması ve düşük miktarlarda sentezlenebileceği öngörülerek yazıcı revize edilmiş ve son haline ulaşmıştır. Reçine için yapı olarak BisGma epoksi akrilat seçilmiştir ve reaktif çözücü olarak HDDA kullanılmıştır. Tez çalışmasının en kritik noktalarından biri olan ve reçinenin kürleşmesini sağlayan foto başlatıcı için uzun araştırmalar yapılmış ve sonunda Irgacure 819’un kullanılan UV kaynağına uyumlu olan başlatıcı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Reçine kürleştirme çalışmalarının tamamlanması ile nano kompozit sentezi ve üretimi çalışmalarına başlanmıştır. Grafen oksit nano malzemeleri reçine içerisine belirli oranlarda eklenerek numuneler üretilmiş, mekanik ve morfolojik özellikleri incelenerek bilimsel yayın çalışması yapılmıştır.Biyo uyumlu ve esnek malzeme üretimi için reçine sentezi çalışmalarında 3 farklı deneme yapılmıştır. Son denemede elde edilen reçine cihazda üretilmeye uygun olduğu görülmüştür ve numuneler üretilmiştir. Üretilen numunelerin mekanik ve morfolojik özellikleri incelendikten sonra esnek yapıda olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Son olarak ise biyo uyumluluk çalışmaları İstanbul Üniversitesi, İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi, Fizyoloji Anabilim Dalında tamamlanarak üretilen malzemenin biyouyumlu olduğu tespit edilmiştir. This thesis aims to synthesize polymer-based resin that can be printed in our own SLA type 3D printer and to prepare the synthesized resin as flexible and biocompatible. For this purpose, the thesis is divided into three stages. First, the design and production of the SLA type 3D printer was made and its calibration was carried out. In the second stage, polymer resin components that will be printed on the printer and curable with UV light have been identified and synthesized. After experiments with the synthesized resin, nano composite production was made. Finally, the biocompatible and flexible resin was synthesized and the biocompatibility of the produced material was investigated.A DLP projector was used as a UV light source at the production of the printer. Since the resin to be used is expensive and it is foreseen that it can be synthesized in low quantities, the printer was revised and reached its final form. BisGMA epoxy acrylate was chosen as the structure for the resin and HDDA was used as the reactive solvent. Long researches have been made for the photoinitiator, which is one of the most critical points of the thesis work and provides the curing of the resin, and it has been determined that Irgacure 819® is compatible with the UV source used. With the completion of resin curing studies, nano composite synthesis and production studies were started. Graphene oxide nano materials were added to the resin in significant wt%, samples were produced, and scientific publication were made by examining their mechanical and morphological properties.For the production of biocompatible and flexible materials, 3 different trials were conducted in resin synthesis studies. The resin obtained in the last experiment was found to be suitable for production in the device and the samples were printed. After examining the mechanical and morphological properties, it was determined that they were flexible. Finally, biocompatibility studies were completed in İstanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physiology at İstanbul University, and it was determined that the material produced is biocompatible.

Bu tez çalışması mevcut vücut zırhı sistemlerinin yapısına dolgu malzemeleri ekleyerek enerji sönümleme kapasitelerini arttırmayı amaçlar. Aramid kumaşlarla birlikte kullanılmak üzere dolgu malzemesi olarak düşük yoğunluğu, yüksek özgül basma dayanımı sebebiyle silika esaslı çapraz bağlı aerojel seçilmiştir. Ayrıca aerojel, üzerine gelen gerilmeyi yapısına dağıtabilecek gözenekli bir yapıya sahiptir. Aerojel, çeşitli kimyasallar kullanmak için esnek bir yöntem olan sol-jel metodu ile sentezlendi. Aerojel numuneler basma testleri, fiziksel ve kimyasal analizleri gerçekleştirmek için küçük boyutlarda sentezlendi.Aerojel sentez ve karakterizasyon çalışmalarına paralel olarak, nümerik simülasyon çalışmalarında kullanılmak üzere gerekli olan malzeme datalarını elde etmek için aramid/epoksi kompozitler vakum yardımlı reçine transfer metodu ile hazırlandı ve mekanik karakterizasyonları gerçekleştirildi. Yarı-statik delme kesme deneyleri malzeme modelini doğrulamak ve kalibre etmek için uygulandı. Daha sonra IIIA tehdit seviyesinde balistik testler aramid/epoksi kompozitler ve yumuşak formdaki aramid kumaşlarla synthegerçekleştirildi. Aynı zamanda kompozit ve kumaş yapılarındaki kinetik enerji değişimlerini belirlemek için balistik simülasyonları yapıldı. Yapılan balistik testlerdeki tüm aramid/epoksi kompozit plakaların delinmesi nedeniyle yumuşak formdaki aramid kumaşların kullanılmasına karar verildi. Aramid / epoksi kompozit plakaların ve aramid kumaşların tüm testlerinde meydana gelen hasar mekanizmaları ayrıntılı olarak incelendi.Küçük boyutlu aerojel sentezleri tamamlandıktan sonra büyük ölçek çalışmaları gerçekleştirildi. Sentez çalışmalarında belirli ölçü ve şekillerde aerojel elde etmek için Teflon kalıplar kullanıldı. Daha sonra aerojel numuneler aramid kumaş katmanlarının arasına yerleştirildi ve son zırh yapısı balistik teste tabi tutuldu. Aerojel numuneler, enerji sönümleme kapasitelerinden dolayı, merminin deformasyon tipini etkiledi. Şaşırtıcı şekilde, sadece aramid kumaştan oluşan numunelerin balistik testlerinde 7 kat kumaş delinirken, aerojel içeren aramid kumaş test numunelerinin balistik testinde sadece 2 kat kumaş delindi.--------------------This thesis aims to develop the energy absorption capability of present body armor systems by adding filler materials. Silica-based crosslinked aerogel was chosen as a filler to use with aramid fabrics due to its low density and high specific compressive strength. Also, aerogel has a porous structure that provides propagating to applied stress onto it. Aerogel was synthesized by a sol-gel methodology, which is a flexible method to use various chemicals. Aerogel was synthesized as small scale for compression tests, physical and chemical analyses. In parallel with synthesis and characterization of aerogel, aramid/epoxy composites were prepared by vacuum assisted resin transfer molding method (VARTM) and their mechanical characterizations were performed to obtain material properties for numerical simulation studies. Quasi-static punch shear tests were performed to verify and calibrate the material model. Then, ballistic tests at Level IIIA threat were conducted with aramid/epoxy composite and soft form of aramid fabrics. Also, ballistic simulations of composite plates and aramid fabrics were run to determine kinetic energy changes in the composite and fabric structure. It was decided to use aramid fabric in soft form after the all aramid/epoxy composite plates were perforated in ballistic tests. Damage mechanisms which occurred in all tests of aramid/epoxy composite plates and aramid fabrics were investigated in detail.Following the completion of the small-scale aerogel synthesis, its scale-up synthesis was realized. Teflon molds were used to obtain fixed dimensions and different shapes of aerogels. Subsequently, they were placed into the layers of aramid fabrics and then ballistic tests were performed to final armor structure. Due to their energy absorption capability, the aerogel samples affected to the deformation type of bullet. Surprisingly, 7 layers of fabric were perforated in ballistic test of neat aramid fabric samples, while only 2 layers of fabric were perforated in the ballistic tests of samples which consist of aramid fabric and aerogel.

Pirinç alaşımları, diğer malzemeler gibi, korozyonun kaçınılmaz etkisi altındadır. CW625N (CuZn35Pb1) alaşımına kurşunsuz alaşım denir, çünkü bileşiminde maksimum 1,6 Pb içerir. CW625N Sıcak dövme için uygun kurşunsuz pirinç alaşımı, dünya için yeni bir alaşım türüdür.Şehir su hatları, doğalgaz kazan tesisatları, armatürler, termik ve nükleer enerji santrallerinin soğutma hatları gibi alanlarda korozyonun önlenmesi önemli olan pirinç malzemelerin kullanıldığı alanlardır. Sıcak şekillendirme için uygun CW625N (CuZn35Pb1) pirinç alaşımı dünya için yeni bir alaşım türüdür. Geleneksel imalat yönteminde alaşım istenilen compozisyon değerlerinde elde edilmesinden sonra; sıcak dövme ile parçalara istenilen geometrik şekil verilir ve ardından parçalar sakin havada soğutulur. Soğuyan ürünler için son ürün formunu verebilmek için talaşlı işlem uygulanır. Ara aşamada, dövme işleminden sonra alaşımın çinkosuzlaşma direncini arttırmak amacıyla ısıl işlem uygulanır. Ancak bu uygulama çok pahalıdır ve üretim sürecini de oldukça yavaşlatır.Bu çalışmada; yeni bir alaşım tipi CW625N için geleneksel üretim yöntemi kullanmak yerine alternatif bir üretim süreci bulmak amaçlandı. Sıcak dövme ile şekillendirmeye uygun olan bu yeni alaşım için tez kapsamında; üç dövme basıncı (70-80 ve 90Bar) ve üç dövme sıcaklığı (750-765 ve 780°C) altında test parçalarına geometrik şekilleri için sıcak dövme uygulandı. Test numuneleri için dövme sonrası uygulanmak üzere üç tip soğutma yöntemi (sakin havada soğutma, fan ile soğutma ve suda soğutma) belirlendi ve uygulandı. Test parçalarına farklı dövme ve farklı soğutma uygulamalar sonucunda; sakin havada soğutulan ısıl işlem uygulanan grup, sakin havada soğutulan ısıl işlem uygulanmayan grup, fan soğutulan ve ısıl işlem uygulanmayan grup, su ile soğutulan ve ısıl işlem uygulanmayan grup olarak toplamda 4 ana grup oluşturuldu. Her bir parametre uygulaması için üç test parçası yani toplamda 108 adet test numunesi üretildi. Her bir parametre için; numunelerin zamana bağlı soğutma eğrileri, her bir numunenin kimyasal bileşim değerleri, yüzey sertlik değerleri, mikroyapı görüntüleri, mikroyapı içerisindeki tane büyüklük değerleri, çinkosuzlaşma (dezincification) dirençlerine, beta tane büyüklüklerine, beta faz oranlarına, talaşlı imalat aşamasında matkap ile delme işlemi uygulaması ile oluşan delme kuvvetleri, talaş yapıları ve işlenen yüzeye ait pürüzlülük değerleri elde edildi ve incelendi. Bu 4 gruba ek olarak, işlenebilirlik testinden sonra başka bir grup daha eklenmiştir. Isıl işlem grubu için dezinsifikasyon testi sonuçları incelendiğinde; standart kapsamı dışında 11 test numunesi tespit edildi. Bu sebeple çalışmada yeni bir grup oluşturuldu. Çinkosuzlaşma direncini sağlamak için 11 parçaya ikinci kez ısıl işlem uygulandı. Bu yeni gruba 2 kez ısıl işlem uygulanan grup adı verildi. Bu numuneler üzerinde yüzey sertlik ölçümü, mikroyapı incelemesi, çinkosuzlaşma testleri ve işlenebilirlik deneyleri tekrar yapılmıştır. Elde edilen tüm veriler tek tek incelendi.Bu yeni alaşım üzerinde üç önemli konu vardır. Bunlar; optimum dövme parametresini belirlemek, dezinfikasyon direncinin yüksek olmasını (istenen satandart kapsamında elde edilmesi) sağlamak ve alaşımın iyi işlenebilir olmasını sağlamaktır. Bu doğrultuda; yapılan tüm testlerin değerlendirilmesi neticesinde iki ana prosesin tüm sonuçları direk ve en çok etkilediği saptandı. Bunlar; sıcak dövme ile şekillendirilen alaşımın soğutulma yöntemi ve ısıl işlem prosesidir.Isıl işlem pahalı ve nihai ürün için üretim sürecini uzatan bir prosestir. Geleneksel yöntem olan dövme sonrası şekillendirilen ürünlerin sakin havada soğutulması ve sonrasında ısıl işlem uygulaması ile istenen standartlar kapsamında dezinsifikasyon dirençleri elde edilmesi mümkün olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada; sakin havada soğutulan ürünler 2 grup altında incelenmiştir ve sadece bir gruba ısıl işlem uygulanmıştır. Böylelikle farklı sıcaklık ve farklı basınç parametreleri ile oluşturulan 4 grup (her bir grup içerisinde 27 adet test numunesi yer almaktadır) arasında kıyaslamalar ve somut bulgular elde edilmiştir. Sakin havada soğuyan numunelere ısıl işlem uygulanmayan grup içerisinde hangi parametre de şekillendirilmesine (dövülmesine) bağlı olmadan dezinsifikasyon standartı kapsamı dışında kalmıştır. Isıl işlem prosesi ile alaşım içerisindeki dezinfikasyon direnci azaltıcı beta fazını düşürme etkisiyle standart içerisinde kalınmış olup, bu prosesin alaşım üzerindeki direk etkisi saptanmıştır.Alaşımlar içerisinde kurşun miktarı ne kadar yürksek olursa, alaşım o kadar iyi işlenir. Çalışmada kullanılan alaşım adından da anlaşıldığı gibi kurşunsuz bir alaşımdır yani alaşım içerisindeki kurşun miktarı azaltılmış olup standart gereği %1,6 sınırlandırılmıştır. Bu durum; işlenebilirliği direk etkileyen unsurdur. İşlenebilirlik deneyi sonuçları incelendiğinde; ısıl işlem uygulanmayan 3 gruptan biri olan fan ile soğutulan numunelerde istenilen sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Isıl işlem uygulanan grup numuneleri ile fan ile soğutulan grubun numunelerine ait sonuçlar kıyaslandığında ise talaş yapılarının benzer olduğu görülmüştür. Ancak dezinsifikasyon test sonucuna göre 5. grup oluşturulan ve ikinci kez ısıl işlem uygulanan grubun işlenebilirlik sonuçları (talaş yapısı) istenen yapıda olmamıştır. Sakin havada soğutulan ve bir kez ısıl işlem uygulan grup ile fanla soğutulan grup işlenebilirlik açısından uygunluğu tespit edilmiştir.Tez çalışmasında; geleneksel bir deneysel çalışma yani farklı parametreler sebebiyle toplamda 108 adet test numunesi üzerinde tek tek çalışmalar yapıldı. Her bir deneyde elde edilen bulgular tek tek incelendi. Tüm bu çalışmalara ilaveten taguchi deney tasarımı ve annova varyans analizi uygulandı. Bu istatistiksel analizler sonucu elde edilen bulgular geleneksel çalışma ile elde edilen bulgularla kıyaslandı. Her iki deneysel metot ile yapılan çalışmalar neticesinde bulguların amaçlanan hedefe ulaşıldığı tespit edildi. En iyi dövme parametresi belirlenmiştir. Alaşımda istenilen çinkosuzlaşma direnç değerlerine ve iyi işlenebilirlik sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Yukarıdaki tüm sonuçlara ek olarak, bu çalışmanın en önemli sonucu; geleneksel üretim yöntemi yerine düşük maliyetli alternatif bir yöntem keşfedilmiştir. Gerek dezinsifikasyon test sonuçları gerekse işlenebilirlik test sonuçları incelendiğinde; dövme ile şekillendirilme işlemi sonrası; ürünlerin sakin havada soğutulup ısıl işlem uygulanması (geleneksel yöntem) prosesleri yerine, alaşım ürünlerinin fan ile soğutulması işlemi alternatif bir metot olarak bulunmuştur.--------------------Brass alloys, like other materials, are under the inevitable effect of corrosion. The CW625N (CuZn35Pb1) alloy is called a lead-free alloy because it contains a maximum of 1.6 Pb in its composition. CW625N Lead-free brass alloy, suitable for hot forging, is a new alloy type for the world.Brass materials are using of at the most important areas, which such as city water lines, natural gas boiler installations, armatures, cooling lines of thermal and nuclear power plants. For the all these areas prevention of corrosion is the most important. CW625N (CuZn35Pb1) brass alloy suitable for hot forming is a new type of alloy for the world. In the traditional manufacturing method, after the alloy is obtained at the desired composition values; With hot forging, the parts are given the desired geometric shape and then the parts are cooled in calm air. Machining process is applied to give the final product form for the cooled products. In the intermediate stage, after the forging process, heat treatment is applied to increase the dezincification resistance of the alloy. However, this application is very expensive and also slows down the production process.In this study; it is aimed to find an alternative manufacturing process instead of using the traditional method for a new alloy type CW625N. Three types of cooling methods (cooling in calm air, cooling with fan and cooling in water) were applied for hot forged samples manufactured under the conditions of the three forging pressure (70-80 and 90 Bar) and the three forging temperature (750-765 and 780°C). Three types of cooling methods (calm air cooling, fan cooling and water cooling) were determined and applied for the test samples to be applied after the forging. As a result of different forging and different cooling applications to test pieces; A total of 4 main groups were formed as calm air cooled heat treated group, calm air cooled non heat treated group, fan cooled and non heat treated group, water cooled and non heat treated group. Three test pieces, ie 108 test samples in total, were produced for each parameter application. For each parameter; time-dependent cooling curves of the samples, chemical composition values of each sample, surface hardness values, microstructure images, grain size values in the microstructure, dezincification resistances, beta grain sizes, beta phase ratios, drilling application in the machining stage drilling forces, chip structures and roughness values of the treated surface obtained and examined. In addition to these 4 groups, another group was added after the machinability test. When the dezincification test results are examined for the heat treatment group; out of the standard scope, 11 test samples were detected. For this reason, a new group was created in the study. To ensure dezincification resistance, 11 parts were heat treated for the second time. This new group was given the name of the group, which was heat treated twice. Surface hardness measurement, microstructure examination, dezincification tests and machinability tests were repeated on these samples. All data obtained were examined one by one.There are three important issues on this new alloy. These; to determine the optimum forging parameter, to ensure high dezincification resistance (to be achieved under the desired standard) and to ensure that the alloy is well machinable. In this direction; as a result of the evaluation of all the tests performed, it was found that the two main processes directly and the most affected all the results. These; the method of cooling and heat treatment of the alloy formed by hot forging.Heat treatment is expensive and extends the production process for the final product. it is possible to obtain dezincification resistances within the scope of the required standards by cooling the products formed after forging, which is the traditional method, in calm air and subsequent heat treatment. In this study; products cooled in calm air were examined under 2 groups and only one group was heat treated. thus, comparisons and concrete findings were obtained between 4 groups (27 test samples in each group) formed with different temperature and pressure parameters.The samples which were cooled in calm air were not covered by the dezincification standard, regardless of which parameter was formed (forged) in the group without heat treatment. With the effect of reducing the dezincification resistance reducing beta phase in the alloy by the heat treatment process, the standard effect of this process on the alloy was determined.The higher the amount of lead in the alloys, the better the alloy is processed. As the name of the alloy used in the study is a lead-free alloy, as the name calls, the amount of lead in the alloy is reduced and the standard requirement is limited to 1.6%. This situation; directly affect the machinability. When the machinability test results are examined; The desired results were obtained in the samples cooled by fan which is one of the 3 groups without heat treatment. When the results of heat treated group samples and fan cooled group samples were compared, chip structures were similar. However, according to the results of the dezincification test, the machinability results (chip structure) of the group that formed the 5th group and the second times heat treated group are not in the desired structure. The suitability of the air cooled and one time heat treated group and the fan cooled group are found to be suitable for machinability.In the thesis study; Because of a traditional experimental study, i.e. different parameters, individual studies were carried out on 108 test samples in total. The findings obtained in each experiment were examined one by one. In addition to all these studies, taguchi experiment design and annova variance analysis were applied. The findings obtained from these statistical analyzes were compared with the findings obtained from the traditional study. As a result of the studies carried out with both experimental methods, it was determined that the findings reached the intended target. The best forging parameter has been determined. The desired dezincification resistance values and good machinability results have been achieved in the alloy.In addition to all the above results, the most important result of this study; A low-cost alternative method was discovered instead of the traditional production method. When both the dezincification test results and machinability test results were examined, it is found that; instead of cooling the products in calm air and applying heat treatment (conventional method), cooling of alloy products with fan has been found as an alternative method.
