We study the transit timings of 10 exoplanets in order to investigate potential Transit Timing Variations (TTVs) in them. We model their available ground-based light curves, some presented here and others taken from the literature, and homogeneously measure the mid-transit times. We statistically compare our results with published values and find that the measurement errors agree. However, in terms of recovering the possible frequencies, homogeneous sets can be found to be more useful, of which no statistically relevant example has been found for the planets in our study. We corrected the ephemeris information of all ten planets we studied and provide these most precise light elements as references for future transit observations with space-borne and ground-based instruments. We found no evidence for secular or periodic changes in the orbital periods of the planets in our sample, including the ultra-short period WASP-103 b, whose orbit is expected to decay on an observable timescale. Therefore, we derive the lower limits for the reduced tidal quality factors (Q$^{\prime}_{\star}$) for the host stars based on best fitting quadratic functions to their timing data. We also present a global model of all available data for WASP-74 b, which has a Gaia parallax-based distance value ~25% larger than the published value., 16 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication by the MNRAS

The paper deals with Video Coding for Machines that is a new paradigm in video coding related to consumption of decoded video by humans and machines. For such tasks, joint transmission of compressed video and features is considered. In this paper, we focus our considerations of features on SIFT keypoints. They can be extracted from the decoded video with losses in number of keypoints and their parameters as compared to the SIFT keypoints extracted from the original video. Such losses are studied for HEVC and VVC as functions of the quantization parameter and the bitrate. In the paper, we propose to transmit the residual feature data together with the compressed video. Therefore, even for strongly compressed video, the transmission of whole all SIFT keypoint information is avoided.

Background The impact of falls on cognitive function is unclear. We explored whether injurious falls are associated with cognitive decline in older adults, and evaluated the role of changes in psychological and physical health as mediators of such association. Methods This prospective study involved 2267 community-dwelling participants in the Swedish National study on Aging and Care in Kungsholmen (≥60 years). Data on injurious falls (ie, falls requiring medical attention) during each 3-year time interval of follow-up were obtained from national registers. Assessment of cognitive function (Mini-Mental State Examination), depressive mood (Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale), and physical performance (walking speed) were carried out every 3 or 6 years over a 12-year follow-up. The association between falls and cognition was estimated through linear mixed-effects models, and the mediating role of changes in depressive mood and physical performance was tested using mediation analysis. Results After adjusting for potential confounders, individuals who experienced injurious falls had a greater annual decline in Mini-Mental State Examination in the subsequent time interval (β = −1.49, 95% CI: −1.84; −1.13), than those who did not. The association increased with the occurrence of ≥2 falls (β = −2.13, 95% CI: −2.70; −1.56). Worsening of walking speed and depressive mood explained around 26% and 8%, respectively, of the association between falls and cognitive decline. Conclusions Injurious falls are associated with greater cognitive decline, and this association is partly mediated by worsening of physical performance and, in a lesser extent, of depressive mood. These findings suggest that physical deficits and low mood are potential therapeutic targets for mitigating the association between falls and cognitive decline.

Three-dimensional (3D) thin-film solid-state batteries are an interesting concept for microstorage, promising high footprint capacity, fast charging, safety, and long lifetime. However, to realize their commercialization, several challenges still need to be overcome. In this work, we focus on two issues: the conformal coating and the high throughput deposition of thin-film layers. First, to facilitate conformal deposition, a design based on 3D micropillars is chosen. Although such a design has been suggested in the past, we calculate for the first time what (footprint) capacities can be expected when using fully optimized pillar geometries while taking practical manufacturability into consideration. Next, spatial atomic layer deposition (S-ALD) is investigated as a scalable and conformal deposition technique. As proof-of-concept, 100 nm Cl-doped am-TiO 2 thin-film electrodes are deposited by S-ALD on TiN-coated silicon micropillars. The influence of deposition parameters (i.e., exposure time and temperature) on the conformality and uniformity across the micropillar substrate is investigated. The results are discussed in terms of precursor diffusion and depletion, which is supported by an analytical model developed for our micropillar array. Furthermore, the Li-ion insertion properties of 3D electrodes fabricated by S-ALD and conventional ALD are compared. This research highlights the challenges and promises of 3D microbatteries and guides future S-ALD development to enable conformal and high-throughput thin-film deposition.

Studying data of anamnesis, clinical state, electro-encephalographic, brain MRI in patients with Rett syndrome (МЕСР2).We studied 11 patients (female) from three to 23 years old with Rett syndrome and MeCP2 mutations. Observation continued 10 years (2006-2015). We analyzed the results of the neurological status, night sleep video-EEG monitoring, MRI.Epilepsy diagnosed in six cases (54, 5%). The overage age of debut of epileptic seizures was 3 years 9 months. There are some types of seizures: generalized, myoclonic, myotonic, tonic, versive, focal motor, atypical absences. Status epilepticus evolved in one patient. Generalized seizures were 56, 25%, focal seizures - 43, 75%. EEG changing marked in nine patients (81, 8%): slowdown back activity, episodes of periodic regional slowdown, regional epileptiform activity, and diffuse epileptiform activity like benign focal epileptiform discharges (BFED). five patients took antiepileptic drugs. All of them had improved during treatment. There were reducing of frequency of the seizures up 50% - 4 cases (80%). one patients with resistant epilepsy was taken combination of drugs (levetirecetam, topiromat, zonisamide, benzodiazepine) with stopping of seizures in the night sleep and decreasing of frequency of daytime seizures to 50%. We believe there is very important of study epilepsy in patients with Rett syndrome and improvement of its treatment.Цель исследования. Изучение анамнестических, клинических, электроэнцефалографических и нейровизуализационных особенностей у пациентов с синдромом Ретта (СР), вызванным мутацией МЕСР2. Материал и методы. Обследованы 11 пациентов женского пола в возрасте от 3 до 23 лет с генетически верифицированным CР (мутация МЕСР2). Всем больным проводились систематическая оценка неврологического и психического статуса, видео-ЭЭГ-мониторинг ночного сна, МРТ. Длительность наблюдения - 2006-2015 гг. Результаты и обсуждение. Эпилепсия диагностирована у 6 из 11 (54,5%) больных. Средний возраст больных в период дебюта эпилепсии был 3 года 9 мес. У обследованных пациентов выявлены следующие типы приступов: вторично-генерализованные судорожные, миоклонические, миатонические, тонические, версивные, фокальные моторные, атипичные абсансы. Эпилептический статус наблюдался у 1 больной. Генерализованные эпилептические приступы выявлены в 56,25% случаев, фокальные эпилептические приступы - в 43,75%. Изменения на ЭЭГ выявлены у 9 (81,8%) больных: замедление основной активности, эпизоды периодического регионального замедления, региональная эпилептиформная активность, диффузная эпилептиформная активность, соответствующая доброкачественному эпилептиформному паттерну детства (ДЭПД), мультирегиональная эпилептиформная активность. Противоэпилептическая терапия назначалась 5 больным. При ее применении улучшение состояния наблюдалось во всех случаях: урежение приступов на 50% и более отмечено в 4 (80%) случаях. У 1 больной с резистентной эпилепсией назначалась комбинация леветирацетама, топирамата, зонеграна, клоназепама с эффектом в виде купирования ночных приступов и урежения частоты дневных приступов менее чем на 50%.

In many industries, there is a growing need to produce products with strict tolerances of individual product characteristics. Increasing productivity and profitability are also sought, demanding the production of more products per unit time, and at a lower cost with the available production equipment and with minimal investment. A Strong competition creates the need to improve production efficiency. One way of addressing the challenge of precise parts manufacturing is by analysing the capabilities of the production equipment. Assessing process capability using statistical modelling plays a key role in the business decision-making process in quality management. This paper presents a statistically based approach to capability analysis of a multi-spindle machining centre.

Five patients were treated with antiepileptic drugs. All of them had improved during treatment: a reduction of frequency of seizures was up to 50% in 4 cases (80%). One patient with resistant epilepsy was treated with the combination of drugs (levetiracetam, topiramate, zonisamide, benzodiazepine) that led to stopping of seizures during night sleep and decrease in the frequency of daytime seizures by 50%. Further research of epilepsy and efficacy of antiepileptic drugs in Rett syndrome is required.Цель исследования. Изучение анамнестических, клинических, электроэнцефалографических и нейровизуализационных особенностей у пациентов с синдромом Ретта (СР), вызванным мутацией МЕСР2 в случае развития эпилепсии. Drought is a natural hazard that occurs all over the world with significant impacts. For drought analysis, long time series of hydrometeorological variables are required. In many catchments around the world, insufficient hydrometeorological observations are available. Recently, global gridded re-analysis meteorological datasets with coarse spatial resolutions (0.5º × 0.5º) became available. In this study, the potential use of a largescale dataset at catchment scale was investigated by comparison of drought characteristics. A conceptual, hydrological model was forced with local and large-scale data to simulate time series of discharge, from which hydrological droughts were identified. The study was carried out in two contrasting catchments: Narsjø (Norway) and Upper-Metuje (Czech Republic). Similar results were obtained from drought analysis using either local or large-scale data. This holds for several drought characteristics. These results are encouraging for use of large-scale forcing data for drought research in small catchments with no, or limited observations

AIMS: The aims of this study was to invent the prevalence of cisterna magna (CM) enlargement in a low-risk population and relate this to chromosomal abnormalities and initial delivery outcome. STUDY DESIGN: 11,145 patients having routine ultrasound scan at 21st week of pregnancy were screened for abnormalities. Cases with CM enlargement were traced and outcome retrieved either from case notes or from the patients. RESULTS: In our low-risk population six fetuses were found to have CM enlargement. Only one had a chromosomal abnormality, 47XY + 18, and this fetus also presented with other malformations. Four were healthy at birth and one, also with other malformations, is showing signs of mental retardation. All cases were male. CONCLUSION: Isolated CM enlargement does not seems to be an indicator for chromosomal abnormalities, especially if the fetus is a male. Still, it should alert the examiner of the possibility of other malformations, which may be of importance.
