Introduction: Insecticide-treated bed nets are often used as a physical barrier to prevent infection of malaria. In Sub-Saharan Africa, one of the most important ways of reducing the malaria burden is the utilization of insecticide-treated bed nets. However, there is no sufficient information on the utilization of insecticide-treated bed nets and their associated factors in Ethiopia., Objectives: This study aimed to assess the utilization of insecticide-treated bed nets and associated factors among households in Pawie District, Benshangul Gumuz, North West Ethiopia., Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in the Pawie district to identify factors influencing the use of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs). Diverse household groups were engaged, and data were collected using a structured questionnaire and observational checklists by trained interviewers. The data were entered into Epi-Data version 3.1 and analyzed using SPSS version 23. Advanced statistical methods, including binary and multi-variable logistic regression, were employed to examine the factors associated with ITN utilization., Results: From the total of 633 respondents, more than two third, 438 (69.2% with 95% CI: 65.2%, 72.5%) had utilized insecticide-treated bed nets during the early morning of the interview. Approximately 297 respondents (67.8%) successfully hung their insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) properly during the early morning of observation. In this study, 406 respondents (64.1%, 95% CI: 60.5, 68.1) showed a solid understanding of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) utilization. Key predictors for the utilization of insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs) included age (AOR = 1.86, 95% CI: 1.11, 3.13, p = 0.019), educational status (AOR = 0.45, 95% CI: 0.26, 0.77, p = 0.008), knowledge level (AOR = 2.64, 95% CI: 1.89, 3.81, p < 0.001), and family size (AOR = 1.89, 95% CI: 1.31, 2.74, p = 0.001). All of these variables were found to be statistically significant for the utilization of insecticide-treated bed net., Conclusions: Utilization of the insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs) remains low in the study area. To address this, it is crucial to raise public awareness and improve utilization of the insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs) to decrease malaria transmission in the district. Ongoing health education initiatives, including demonstrations on the proper way to hang bed nets, will be essential in fostering better practices and improving community health outcomes., Competing Interests: Declarations. Background: Inadequate dietary diversity among children aged 6-23 months remains a public problem in Ethiopia. Adequate dietary diversity is crucial for children to meet their nutritional demands and promote healthy growth and development in infancy and young childhood., Objective: The study aimed to assess dietary diversity and associated factors among children aged 6-23 months in Awi Zone, Ethiopia, 2023., Methods: The study was conducted among children aged 6-23 months in Awi Zone, Amhara, Ethiopia, from August to September 2023. A community-based cross-sectional study design was conducted. A simple random sampling approach followed by face-to-face interview data collection techniques was used. To ascertain minimum dietary diversity, a 24 h food recall method comprising eight food item questionnaires was used. A statistical association was found between dependent and independent variables using the adjusted odds ratio with 95% confidence intervals and a p -value of ≤0.05., Result: This study found that only 192 (47.6%) children aged 6-23-month old had adequate dietary diversity. In this study, variables such as maternal education [AOR 2.36, 95% CI (1.297, 3.957)], birth interval [AOR 2.85, 95% CI (1.45, 4.25)], and food insecurity [AOR = 2.23, 95% CI (1.626, 3.1)] were strongly significant variables for the minimum dietary diversity of the child., Conclusion and Recommendations: The proportion of the minimum dietary diversity was relatively low. Mother's educational status, low birth intervals, and food insecurity were significant predictors of minimum dietary diversity. The stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, regional health offices, and agricultural sectors, prioritize enhancing child nutrition through targeted food-based approaches. Developing and implementing comprehensive intervention programs to improve children's minimum dietary diversity (MDD) should be a central focus. Background: Although access to vaccines for children is increasing at healthcare facilities, outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases and deaths have been reported in different areas of the Benishangul Gumuz region, in Ethiopia. Various interventions have been designed to provide vaccines for each child at an appropriate age. Still there is limited information on full vaccination coverage and associated factors among children aged 12-23 months in the Benishangul-Gumuz region, particularly in the Pawie district., Method: A community-based cross-sectional study design was used from April, 1-30, 2022 among 750 participants. Study populations were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data was collected using structured questionnaires. Data was coded and entered into the SPSS Statistics 23.0. Bi-variable and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to assess factors associated with the children vaccination status. Variables with p-value <0.05 were considered significantly associated with the outcome variable., Result: The results of this study revealed that 542 (72.3 %) (95 % CI: 68.9, 75.2) of the children were fully vaccinated. Factors significantly associated with full vaccination coverage included employed mothers (AOR = 0.53, 95 % CI: 0.29, 0.95), antenatal care (ANC) follow-up (AOR = 1.74, 95 % CI: 1.00, 3.03), post-natal care (PNC) follow-up (AOR = 6.19, 95 % CI: 3.62, 10.56), health institution delivery (AOR = 4.70, 95 % CI: 1.90, 11.66), birth order of children (AOR = 3.63, CI: 2.00, 6.59), maternal tetanus toxoid (TT) vaccination (AOR = 3.05, CI: 1.36, 6.86) and knowledge of vaccination schedule (AOR = 2.49, 95 % CI: 1.19, 5.21)., Conclusions: This study revealed that among children aged 12-23 months, full vaccination coverage was notably low. Factors significantly associated with higher rates of full vaccination included mothers' occupation, attendance at ANC visits, PNC visits, birth order of children, place of delivery, maternal awareness of vaccination schedules, and maternal TT vaccination status.
