Background. The article deals with the problem of improving the system of professional education for future physics teachers. As part of the program “Teacher of the future generation of Russia” in order to improve the material base in the pedagogical universities of the country modern educational spaces were created - Technoparks of universal pedagogical competencies. Purpose. To reveal the potential of the technopark of universal pedagogical competencies as an innovative means of increasing the effectiveness of training future physics teachers. Materials and methods. The methodological basis of the work is made up of systematic, competence-based and technological approaches. Theoretical analysis of scientific literature, pedagogical experiment, observation, testing, comparison, methods of mathematical statistics were used as research methods. Results. The comparative characteristics of the Тechnopark equipment and the equipment of the university laboratories was conducted, which became the basis for revealing the potential of the Тechnopark. The positive impact of the technopark on the development of key professional competencies of future physics teachers has been experimentally proven. The level of development of professional competencies of future physics teachers was diagnosed. Statistical processing of the results obtained was carried out using Fisher’s exact test, indicating the significance of differences between the selected groups of students. Practical recommendations for the implementation of this educational facility are formulated. The prospect of further study of the problem is assumed.

Background and Objectives: Teachers are considered as one of the most important and vital elements of virtual in-service training, and supporting them is one of the basic elements in the virtual training system. Supporting teachers in the virtual learning environment is one of the key factors in the success and development of the virtual training system that if it is not continuously provided, it will lead to a waste of capital and a lack of motivation to stay in the virtual learning environment. Support for teachers has different areas, among which we can mention instructional support. In virtual in-service teachers training, instructional support has priority over other different areas of support and is more important. Instructional support is one of the main components affecting the effectiveness of virtual training. Dynamic computer-based scaffolding is one form of instructional support that supports learners in a personalized way. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of dynamic computer-based scaffolding on the effectiveness of virtual in-service teacher training.Methods: This research was conducted in a quasi-experimental way using a pretest-posttest design with an experimental and a control group. The statistical population of this research consisted of elementary school teachers in the academic year of 1401-1402 who applied to participate in virtual in-service training. A total of 30 elementary school teachers were selected as a sample to participate in the research, who were randomly divided into two groups of 15 people, experimental and control. The tool used in this research was a researcher-made questionnaire for the evaluation of virtual in-service teacher training based on Roderick Sims’s developed model. This model has 11 components including educational objectives, content, design and user interface, interaction, evaluation, support services, outcomes quality, organization, management, educational technology and information and communication technology ethics. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by experts. Also, the reliability of the questionnaire was obtained as Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.82. The experimental group received dynamic computer-based scaffolding during the virtual in-service training, but the virtual in-service training was presented to the control group in the usual way. Descriptive statistics indices (mean and standard deviation) were used for data analysis, and covariance analysis was used in the inferential statistics section.Findings: The results of the research showed that training through dynamic computer-based scaffolding was of significant impact on the effectiveness of virtual in-service teacher training. Also, dynamic computer-based scaffolding in each of the components of the effectiveness of virtual in-service teacher training, including organization and management, educational technology, educational objectives, content, design and user interface, information and communication technology ethics, interaction with the user interface, evaluation, support services and quality of outcomes had a significant effect.Conclusion: In virtual in-service training, dynamic computer-based scaffolding can provide the help and guidance needed by teachers and lead to mastery in learning and helps teachers to play an active role in training. Regardless of this, the use of web-based tools and technologies is emphasized in the studies as long as they can facilitate the performance of learners in learning, and have an effect on the effectiveness of education. Therefore, considering the benefits of dynamic computer-based scaffolding, it is suggested that those involved in virtual in-service teacher training include the design and development of dynamic computer-based scaffolding in their work agenda.

The article is about the fact that the process of teaching students with special educational needs has certain features that can be partially implemented within the framework of the creation and use of electronic means of education: possible irregularity of attending educational classes, which is associated with restrictions in movement; reducing the number of hours of study load; reducing the educational load; limiting the possibility of developing creative abilities. The use of electronic means of educational purposes is one of the means of special educational and correctional rehabilitation technologies, which are a set of organizational structures and measures, system means and methods, optimally ensure the implementation and assimilation of educational programs aimed at eliminating or as fully as possible compensating for life limitations, caused by health disorders. Modern information and communication technologies can be used as: a means of learning (application of multimedia training courses, distance education); a technical means of automating the process of cognitive and creative activity of an individual, which allows mobile work with text, graphic, sound or video documents, make complex calculations, provide high-quality information, process it, communicate with peers from different countries of the world; a sample of innovative technologies that develops the skills of mastering them, provides knowledge about the functional purpose of the constituent elements and the communication system, the principles of operation of hardware and software; an effective simulator that develops the cognitive and creative activity of an individual, encourages him to make his own original decisions, see their results and check their legitimacy, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of the study was to analyse the effectiveness of occupational health and safety (OHS) training methods on safety behaviour of farmers and agricultural workers based on literature results. The scoping review intends to find out the main gaps in teaching methodology influencing safety performance of employers and employees in agriculture. A systematic search of literature with help of predefined search strings (agriculture, education, effectiveness, farmer, farm worker, intervention, safety, training) in two literature databases (Scopus, EBSCO) was carried out. It was analysed, how effectively different training methods improved safety awareness and performance of farmers, students and employees. The strength of the evidence on training's effectiveness was assessed for existence of control or comparison group, pre- and post-testing, follow-up testing, statistical significance testing, clear methodology description and thorough study overview were presented. In the primary literature research, 276 articles were identified. A total of 224 articles were left after the exclusion of redundant publications. After the abstracts' screening 52 publications met the eligibility criteria. After the full text screening by two independent researchers additionally 33 studies were excluded, and in total 19 studies entered into the data charting process. The articles were assessed as medium (n = 8) and high (n = 8) in terms of strength of evidence. According to the review results, the training methods used in the agricultural sector have shown as effective due to the safety awareness and risk behavior among the trainees improved, but new OHS knowledge after training need to be engaged and regularly updated. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many university initial teacher education courses have been adapted into remote mode. Starting from specific topics of the training curriculum, the work focuses on adapting courses on evaluative knowledge and skills in an e-learning environment; it examined the development of student teachers’ evaluative knowledge (terminology and concepts) and skills (design of paper and pencil assessment tools) who took the adapted courses. A comparative study of two adapted university degree courses (University of Bergamo and Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria in Italy – initial training of future primary school teachers) in the area of evaluation, was carried out. The study involved 155 primary school student teachers and made a mixed method investigation with sequential system. The first exploratory method collected quantitative data by an “ad hoc” questionnaire on student teacher’ knowledge, the second confirmatory method gained qualitative data through the document analysis of paper-and-pencil assessment tool on student teachers’ skill. The results highlight substantial similarities on knowledge (function of evaluation, difference between evaluation and assessment, object of school evaluation) and skill (ability to refer to real situations and promote situated knowledge) but also differences (construct of school “evaluation processes” and ability to provide different solutions for solving the task) e specific difficulty in implementing the “constructive alignment.”

The higher the level of competition in the industrial sector, it is necessary for the company's efforts to respond well to this in order to survive through internal strategies in the form of improving employee performance. Training and competence are found to be one of the factors that can improve employee performance. The main purpose of this study is to build a model in an effort to improve employee performance involving achievement-oriented work motivation as an intervening variable the effect of training effectiveness and soft skill competence on employee performance. The population in this study are employees of companies engaged in the manufacturing sector with 276 employees. Samples were taken by 100 employees using purposive random sampling method. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to test the statistical significance of the path coefficients against the five (5) established hypotheses. The findings of the study indicate that the effectiveness of training and soft skill competencies have a positive and significant influence on achievement-oriented work motivation. Abstract Background Valid cause of death data are essential for health policy formation. The quality of medical certification of cause of death (MCCOD) by physicians directly affects the utility of cause of death data for public policy and hospital management. Whilst training in correct certification has been provided for physicians and medical students, the impact of training is often unknown. This study was conducted to systematically review and meta-analyse the effectiveness of training interventions to improve the quality of MCCOD. Methods This review was registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO; Registration ID: CRD42020172547) and followed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. CENTRAL, Ovid MEDLINE and Ovid EMBASE databases were searched using pre-defined search strategies covering the eligibility criteria. Studies were selected using four screening questions using the Distiller-SR software. Risk of bias assessments were conducted with GRADE recommendations and ROBINS-I criteria for randomised and non-randomised interventions, respectively. Study selection, data extraction and bias assessments were performed independently by two reviewers with a third reviewer to resolve conflicts. Clinical, methodological and statistical heterogeneity assessments were conducted. Meta-analyses were performed with Review Manager 5.4 software using the ‘generic inverse variance method’ with risk difference as the pooled estimate. A ‘summary of findings’ table was prepared using the ‘GRADEproGDT’ online tool. Sensitivity analyses and narrative synthesis of the findings were also performed. Results After de-duplication, 616 articles were identified and 21 subsequently selected for synthesis of findings; four underwent meta-analysis. The meta-analyses indicated that selected training interventions significantly reduced error rates among participants, with pooled risk differences of 15–33%. Robustness was identified with the sensitivity analyses. The findings of the narrative synthesis were similarly suggestive of favourable outcomes for both physicians and medical trainees. Conclusions Training physicians in correct certification improves the accuracy and policy utility of cause of death data. Investment in MCCOD training activities should be considered as a key component of strategies to improve vital registration systems given the potential of such training to substantially improve the quality of cause of death data.

Developing human capital through education is very important for the education system in Malaysia. Technical and vocational education and training (TVET), holds a major role in our education system. TVET is one of education lines that are aimed to produce skilled workers for our country. This education platform is hoped not only to develop students’ academic and technical knowledge, but also to help students acquire high employability skills. Despite improvements over the past decade, several weaknesses have hobbled TVET, preventing it from playing a supportive role. Therefore, this concept paper aims to examine the level of effectiveness training, generic skill and type of trait-personality towards career aspiration among TVET students. A quantitative methodology research designed was employed for this study. These elements are not only important in preparing them for their future work but also very pivotal for their career aspirations development. Thus, the purpose of this concept paper is to discuss the sustainability for Malaysian TVET and as for TVET students have the same career aspirations in the fields they have learnt in Community College.

Background: Developing and strengthening the competencies and skills of health care managers is a key objective in many health systems. Selecting adequate training methods, content, and using appropriate criteria for assessing their impact is fundamental for improving their usefulness and effectiveness. Filling an important gap in knowledge, this review assesses the evidence on the effectiveness of different types of training and educational programmes delivered to hospital managers. Methods: In this narrative systematic review, the following electronic databases were searched for literature published between January 1st, 1990 and January 31st, 2019. The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) checklist was used to evaluate the quality of the included studies. Results: In total, 9 articles were included. Results showed that the main topics covered by training programs for hospital managers were: planning, organization and coordination, control and supervision of hospital staff, teamwork, communication, motivation and leadership, monitoring and evaluation, and quality improvement skills. Training in these skills was found to improve managers' strategic and operational planning abilities, change management and behavioural management methods, and leadership. Conclusions: The examined training programs had a relatively positive effect on the managerial skills, knowledge and competencies of hospital managers. In general, these capacity-building programs focused on developing three types of skills: technical, interpersonal and conceptual. Training programs focused on developing technical skills among managers were more effective than those focused on developing other types of skills. Introduction: Work-life balance, as one of the stresses that most employees deal with in their daily life, can lead to job stress. In this regard, the overall aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of training stress coping skills on work-life-balance of the staff of department of education in Yazd Province. Methods: This experimental study was conducted by a pretest-posttest design with experimental and control groups. The statistical population of this research included all staff of Education Department in Yazd Province. Consequently, 40 staff (20 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group) were randomly selected and divided into the experimental and control groups. The instrument of this research was Wang & Co's (2009) work-life balance questionnaire. Finally, the collected data were analyzed using covariance analysis. Results: Findings showed that stress coping skills training had a significant positive effect on work-life balance of employees (F=70/978, p<0/001) and according to the ETA squared coefficient, this training could explain 65.70% of the variance of work-life balance of employees. Conclusion: Overall, training in stress coping skills could improve the work-life balance of the experimental group through identifying and controlling stressful situations, enjoying a balanced work-life stress-free experience, and identifying their physical and facial expressions and thoughts during stress. The Watershed Development Department and ICAR-National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning (NBSS & LUP) have developed site specific Land Resource Inventories (LRI) for the selected taluks in 11 districts of Karnataka. The LRI serves as a basic database and enables identification of farm-specific land related problems and potentials, suggest appropriate conservation measures, delineate suitability of the area for various uses. Watershed Development Department collaborated with ICAR - Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Bengaluru to organize capacity development programmes to farmers at the micro watershed / village level through Krishi Vigyan Kendras in these districts. The learning level evaluation of the training indicated that suitable horticulture/forestry species and appropriate soil and water conservation measures were learnt by most of the farmers. Less than half of the farmers only could learn about the suitable agricultural crops to their soils. The knowledge gain in five out of seven LRI components was not directly associated with overall satisfaction, but the knowledge on suitable agricultural crops was highly associated. Knowledge on all the seven LRI components was significantly associated with the willingness to adopt LRI contents. Knowledge of fertility status, soil slope and soil types were significantly associated with farmers interest to participate in future capacity building programmes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the framework of this article, the problem of optimization of adaptive training complexes (ATC) for professional ergatic systems is formulated, based on research of systemic links, regularities of interaction and functioning of individual components of ATC. Studies of the training process in ATC have also been conducted, making possible to evaluate and improve the economic efficiency, the speed and the quality of training in ATC. The article presents the mathematical model of ATC on the basis of set theory, which is distinguished not only by the economic features of ATC design, but also by studies in the field of optimizing the learning process, assessing the speed and the quality of its implementation. The presented approach to the formalization of the main objects of ATC and the processes of their interaction allows the software and the hardware implementation of modules and subsystems of ATC. A set of criteria for optimizing ATC in several areas: economic costs, quality and time of training are formulated. Thus, the presented mathematical model of ATC can be used to solve the problem of optimizing the learning process and designing simulator complexes, adapting them to the psychophysical characteristics of the trainees, determining optimal parameters and structure of ATC, depending on the set conditions. BACKGROUND: A Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) is a vital document issued by a doctor and has a prescribed format published by the World Health Organization. It is an essential tool to obtain scientific and reliable information in terms of the cause of mortality. The aim of this study is to assess the knowledge about MCCD and to evaluate the impact of sensitization training on the MCCD among the physicians working in the trauma and emergency department in a Tertiary Care Centre. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A quasi-experimental quality improvement hospital-based study executed in Trauma and Emergency Department of Tertiary Care Hospital in Chhattisgarh State, India. The physicians posted in the Trauma and Emergency Department were participated in the study and attended the sensitization training session on MCCD. Statistical analysis used; the data were entered in Microsoft Excel and analyzed with SPSS version 20 statistical software. Mean scores and standard deviation (SD) were used for pre and posttest data while statistical significance was tested using the paired t-test. P < 0.05 was considered as significant. The technical and medical errors in MCCD forms were depicted in percentages. RESULTS: A total of 54 physicians completed the study, including 42 junior resident doctors, 6 senior resident doctors, and 6 faculties. There was a significant difference in the scores before (M = 4.39, SD = 1.571) and after (M = 7.5, SD = 0.885) the training (t = 17.6, P < 0.0001). The participants showed substantial improvement by reduction in technical errors from 28% to 14% while the medical error also slashed down from 42% to 16%. CONCLUSIONS: Sensitization and educational training should be carried out consistently on regular intervals to improve the knowledge of physicians regarding the appropriate filling of MCCD and minimize the errors in MCCD, ultimately this will enhance usability and comparability of mortality statistics generated from International Classification of Diseases data.

The civil servants' training process plays a key role in developing the public employees' skills and broadening their vision. The present paper seeks to examine the perception of Employment Agencies' civil servants regarding the effectiveness of training programs, measured through their impact on the number of projects initiated and implemented under Sectorial Operational Programme for Human Resources Development 2007-2013. The role of training programs in enhancing civil servants' innovation capacity is also investigated. The methodology consists in an analysis of 253 projects financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) during 2009-2015 and an empirical research using a representative sample of 337 civil servants who attended EU funded training courses in project management. The conclusions of this paper indicated a direct relation between the number of projects developing training courses in 'project management' and the number of projects initiated and implemented annually by the territorial Agencies for Employment. Moreover, a positive correlation between the training programs and the innovation capacity of civil servants from County Agencies for Employment was also identified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study aimed at the evaluation of the effectiveness of educational courses held for public librarians in east Azerbaijan province and proposes appropriate solutions for improvement the courses. Methodology: This research implemented using survey method. Kirk-Patrick model was used for evaluation and collecting data through a questionnaire that had 28 questions. The reliability coefficient of this tool was 0/94 and Validity of it, approved by selected experts. The community of study consisted of all employees participated in educational courses in public libraries in east Azerbaijan province (330 people), and 178 ones were selected randomly as sample to fill questionnaire. To analyze the extracted data, we used descriptive and inferential statistics (one-sample t-test and ANOVA). Results: Results showed that the “Response” dimension with average score of 22/78 with 4/24 Standard Deviation (SD) had the highest effectiveness. “Results” dimension was in the lowest level with the average score of 12/01 and 4/906 SD. Also the results of comparison between learners' average scores of effectiveness, considering the variables namely gender and field of study, showed that there was significant difference between the views of learners. Originality/Value: Originality of this research was in the reveal of the weakness in the applicability of educational courses in Iran Public Libraries Foundation and the need for concentrating on objective results.

Introduction: The aim of this research was to determine the effects of cognitive and meta-cognitive strategies training on self-directed learning readiness and its subscales.Materials and Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest and a control group. The sampling was based on the multistage cluster random method. The participants were 54 students from Kerman and Rafsanjan Payamnoor universities in the fields of basic and human sciences. They were randomly assigned into two groups. After taking the pre-test, the experimental group was trained on cognitive and meta-cognitive strategies for 8 sessions, while the control group did not receive any intervention. Then the participants were evaluated by the guglielminoself-directed learning questioner. The SPSS software was used for analyzing the data, using ANCOVA.Results: The results of this research showed that education on cognitive and meta-cognitive strategies improved self –directed learning. The most influence was on study skills, problem solving and independence learning.Conclusion: The findings indicated that learning strategies could affected self-directed learning readiness. Therefore, teachers should educate these strategies to their students to improve their skills.

In the lieu of electronic technology, mobile learning has considered in management studies and education. The diversity and complex competencies of mobile equipment and its infrastructure make it very difficult to generalize the result of research. Hence, in this research we investigate the effectiveness of mobile learning in training and education. We have taken advantage of Kirkpatric training model into first level . The research population was Mehr Alborz virtual university and the sampling method was in order of simple random. The result of quantitative research indicates that there is no significant difference in learning effectiveness in intervention and control group. In the other hand The result of qualitative research indicates that SMS learning has satisfaction for respondents. The findings have a meaningful implication for higher education policy makers in student – professor's relationship.

This paper aims to adapt and analyze the factor structure and psychometric properties of the Reaction to Instructional Proceedings Scale in Distance Education (ERPI-EAD and its relation with the effectiveness of training at work. In total, 3,600 employees from a Brazilian public bank participated in this study by answering the ERPI-EAD after taking part in an online course. We measured training transfer with a self-evaluation scale. Internal consistency, confirmatory factor analysis and multiple regressions were conducted. A one-factor structure and a high level of fit for the model were found. The participant's satisfaction with the course was related to the effectiveness of training. We suggest using the ERPI-EAD as a reliable and valid measure that predicts the effectiveness of training, can contribute to collect relevant information to improve instructional aspects and ensure better performance results in the workplace. Introduction: The aim of this research was to determine the effects of cognitive and metacognitive strategies training to strengthen their, self-directed learning readiness and self efficacy.Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental design with pretest - posttest control group was used. In this study, 50 midwifery students were selected, and randomly and equally divided into two groups The experimental group was attended in 8 sessions of cognitive and metacognitive strategies training and were evaluated by guglielmino self-directed learning questioner, schwarzer self efficacy questioner and Combined Inventory weienestein, palmer & pintrich. SPSS software was used for analyzing data's. The statistical analyses were ANCOVA.Results: Results of this research show that training of cognitive and metacognitive strategies Uses strategies strengthens, improved of self –directed learning and self efficacy.Conclusion: According to research findings indicate that learning strategies can be taught and learned and learning strategies can be effected on self-directed learning readiness and self efficacy therefore, teachers must trying for training these strategies to students and notice Students how to learn and improve skills.

In terms of crisis economic development, one of priority goals for the technical institutes of higher education is to train engineers who are competitive on the regional labour markets. The main root of the problem of low prestige of the engineering profession in Russia, the slippage in the personnel training in technical universities lies in the depreciation of engineering work, and reduction of its social and economic attractiveness. The gap between science, education and industry leads to aging of engineering staff at the manufactures and to migration of the most talented engineers into other fields of activity. This paper analyzes current problems of engineers training organization in the Urals. The causes of sharp decline of the engineering profession social status in Russia, the fall of interest of secondary school graduates to continuation of their studies in technical institutes of higher education are reviewed. The authors show that the formation of engineering competence as a defining personal and vocational quality of a specialist involves actualization of the student's motivation, one's active and purposeful adaptation to the educational process, increasing one's responsibility for mastering the curriculum. Conclusions and suggestions of the authors are based on the results of a comprehensive sociological research conducted by them in 2011 in five high schools of the Urals (Yekaterinburg, Nizhnevartovsk and Chelyabinsk). The survey showed that during the stage of young specialists' preparation, cooperation in the «university - enterprise» system is actually shifted to the interaction, in fact, between institute of higher education and young professionals who act as the sellers of their labour. The authors believe that it makes sense to roll over (or rather - to stimulate) the active engineering work of the most productive engineering professionals who have reached retirement age. Equally sharp and critical are the issues of reproduction and preservation of professors and teachers in the technical (and not just technical) universities. In this case, the refusal of the university to use the target distribution system for its graduates should not be associated with a complete removal of the responsibility of educational institutions for the future of young engineers in the labour market

The article describes the basic results of a study dealing with the problem of quality and effectiveness of vocational training of adults in Bulgaria. Why is it retrospective? Because the subject of study is previous author’s andragogical investigations on the vocational qualification system, adults learners, training process and principals. The author uses the andragogigal methodology and results in order to develop a new approach to the problem and original definitions of vocational training quality and effectiveness.

Specialized training of candidates for officers is one of the main components affecting the preparation of an officer for taking up first duty. In the article the author presents and analyzes the structure of the specialized training for the corps of defense against weapons of mass destruction (CBRN), in force in the years 2006-2015. The evaluation of the specialized training programs shows diversification in terms of the organization of training while maintaining the consistency of training objectives. On the grounds of such an evaluation the author argues that the program multiplicity and variability may differentiate, and probably does, graduates in respect of the level of competences for the profession. That thesis constitutes the basis for conducting studies on the effectiveness of specialized training of candidates for officers of the Polish Armed Forces. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper reports a study which demonstrates the advantages of using virtual-reality-based systems for training automotive assembly tasks. Sixty participants were randomly assigned to one of the following three training experiences to learn a car service procedure: (1) observational training through video instruction; (2) an experiential virtual training and trial in a CAVE; and (3) an experiential virtual training and trial through a portable 3D interactive table. Results show that virtual trained participants, after the training, can remember significantly better ( p < .05) the correct execution of the steps compared to video-trained trainees. No significant differences were identified between the experiential groups neither in terms of post-training performances nor in terms of proficiency, despite differences in the interaction devices. The relevance of the outcomes for the automotive fields and for the designers of virtual training applications are discussed in light of the outcomes, particularly that virtual training experienced through a portable device such as the interactive table can be effective, as can training performed in a CAVE. This suggests the possibility for automotive industries to invest in advanced portable hardware to deliver effectively long-distance programs of training for car service operators placed all over the world. Purpose. Relaxing in the athlete's training process is underutilized. Relaxation techniques, however, should be taught from the very beginning of the footballer's training career. The main aim of this study was to present the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on pressure pain threshold levels and the effectiveness of the footballer's training. Methods. A sample of 32 football players participated in the therapeutic program consisting of 8 PMR sessions. Before and after applying a pressure therapy, the pain threshold in the lumbar region was measured by a dolorimeter and the Cooper test was carried out to determine the footballers' level of endurance. Results. PMR training did not increase significantly the pain threshold level in the experimental group (p > 0.05), but it increased significantly the distance covered in the Cooper test (p = 0.04). Analysis of the Spearman rank correlation was also carried out (p = 0.81). Conclusions. PMR does not lower pain perception threshold. PMR therapy increases the distance measured by the Cooper test. In order to determine the role of PMR in injury prevention, further research is necessary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background The research aimed to determine motor skills that significantly affect the level of technical preparation in dancesport at the early stage of training. The applicable purpose was to determine the selection indicators in dancesport at the stage of initial training. Material/Methods The study involved 50 dancesport contestants aged 6-9 years. The tests were carried out 3 times, at the beginning, after a year and after two years of training. Motor skills were assessed by means of: the Starosta's test, a stabilographic platform, the IPTF trial, a trial testing the frequency of moves, a measurement of explosive strength of the lower limbs, ergometric measuring equipment "Concept 2 Dyno", a test of simple reaction speed and of anticipation in space. Special fitness was determined on the basis of results of special fitness tests and standard anthropometric measurements were made by means of Martin's method. A factor analysis was made of all the measurements; the correlation matrix was calculated with probability at p ≤ 0.05. Independent variables were confronted with the special fitness test results presented by the studied dancers. The multiple regression method was used, and for analysis the special fitness test result of 3 dance tournaments immediately after the 1st, 2nd and 3rd stage of laboratory tests and the results of these tests were taken. Results The result of the special fitness test at the 1st stage of research is explained by multiple regression with independent variables in 66%, at the 2nd stage of research in 87%, and at the 3rd stage of research in 81%. The highest level of regression was reported at the 1st stage of research for the variable both legs coordination and at the 3rd stage of research for the variables balance and chené turns. Conclusions 1. At the early stage of practicing dancesport, the greatest impact on the special fitness is exerted by: motor coordination, balance, flexibility, speed and strength skills, the body height and mass, the pelvis, torso, and chest indicators, and BMI. 2. The tests and indices applied in the research best reflect the specificity of dancesport and they can be recommended in the selection process for this sport discipline. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This evaluation focused on the developing interviewing skills of 104 active crime investigators in Sweden who participated in six different half-year courses between 2007 and 2010. The courses emphasised a combined model of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Protocol and the PEACE model of investigative interviewing. The teaching was interdisciplinary. The evaluation involved interviews of 208 children, most of whom were suspected victims of physical abuse. The investigators used two-thirds fewer option-posing questions and three times as many invitations after training as they did before training. These data show that the training was very effective in shaping the interviewers’ behaviour into better compliance with internationally recognised guidelines. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
