Wisconsin Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) conducted a statewide survey to quantify the instructional costs of expanded No Child Left Behind (NCLB) testing and to capture the perceptions of education leaders who facilitate the administration of these tests in school districts across the state. Results show that testing mandates are forcing schools to divert resources away from teaching and learning and reinvesting them in test preparation, administration, and reporting.
