Introduction: Yunis-Varon syndrome (YVS) is an extremely rare autosomal recessive congenital disorder affecting many organs and systems (bones, ectodermal structures, the cardiorespiratory system, etc.). Abnormalities include aplasia or hypoplasia of the clavicles, facial dysmorphism, sparse hair, absence or hypoplasia of the thumbs, toes and distal phalanges, prominent auricles, shortened upper lip and other skeletal deformities, such as pelvic dysplasia, kyphosis, scoliosis, etc. Tooth structures and jaws are characterized by marked micrognathia, a narrow high-arched palate, hypodontia, impacted permanent teeth as well as supernumerary teeth.Aim. The present case report aims to describe the clinical and radiographic changes in the masticatory apparatus of a patient diagnosed with Yunis-Varon syndrome.Case Presentation: The subject of this study was а patient, suffering from pain in tooth #38. The clinical intraoral examination revealed hypodontia, but the radiographic image revealed many supernumerary teeth in the anterior and premolar region of both the maxilla and the mandible.Results: In addition to skeletal anomalies and impaired ectodermal structures, this rare syndrome can cause disturbances in the teeth and jaws. For this reason, dental specialists play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from Yunis-Varon syndrome.Conclusion: Early intervention is important in Yunis-Varon syndrome. Future investigation will permit identification of thеsе skeletal and dental abnormalities.

It has been shown in our previous findings that Mo-, W- and Re-based catalysts promoted with Ni, Co, and K are considered as a promising tri-component catalyst for sour WGS reaction. In order to evaluate the stability of the formed active sulfide and oxysulfidic species at sulfided Mo-, W- and Re-based catalysts at the same surface density of the main component, namely 2 atoms metal/nm2 γ-Al2O3 support, under influence of oxidizing agents as H2O steam and CO2, the WGS reaction was proceeded in absence of sulfur in gas feed. With the intent to enable a quick check, the applied approach was to perform the WGS reaction at high reaction temperature, 400 °C, in H2S-free syngas and varying the gas hourly space velocity (GHSV). This study gave information about the behaviour of sour molybdenum, tungsten and rhenium WGS catalysts during operation accident. It was found that the active sulfide and oxysulfidic species are more stable in absence of sulfur in feed at tri-component KCoMo and KCoRe catalysts. These catalysts possess lowest sulfur dependence of WGS activity and stability of the deactivation, which is an indication of the applicability of these two systems as optimal sour water–gas shift catalysts.

This study investigates the relationships between the main polyphenols and DPPH radical scavenging activity (RSA) in extracts from some of the most common wild and cultivated species from the Achillea millefolium group, Mentha, Chenopodium botrys, Clinopodium vulgare and Artemisia vulgaris. Another aspect of the study is the effects of choosing an extraction solvent, highlighting the importance of selecting an appropriate one for obtaining extracts with maximum manifested bioactivity. Chemical characterization of compounds is performed. It is based on HPLC-PDA fingerprint profiles, obtained from 70% aqueous methanol extracts. Hydroxycinnamic acids, glycosides of luteolin (LG), apigenin (AG), their aglycones and methoxyflavones are found to be the most abundant components, which have the highest impact on radical scavenging activity (RSA) of the extracts. The data allow supposing high correlation relationships between caffeoylquinic acids and RSA of extracts from four A. millefolium group species and cv. Proa. Cl. vulgare methanol extract, rich in rosmarinic acid, LG and AG, showed the highest RSA with IC50 10.37μg.mL-1. In contrast, extracts of Ch. botrys which lack phenolic acids, contain low amount of glycosides and are rich in methoxyflavone aglycones, possess very weak RSA. For multicomponent analysis, our data suggest 70% methanol as the most appropriate solvent for extraction of compounds belonging to the polyphenol complex. Based on the high quantities of rosmarinic acid, luteolin and apigenin glycosides, 66% ethanol solvent is found to be the best choice for medicinal consumption extracts.
