Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease characterized by nodules, abscesses, and sinus tracts in intertriginous areas. Laser- and light-based treatments are gaining popularity in HS treatment. Diode lasers act selectively in Hurley stage 1-2 patients, and intralesional laser applications are applied to various areas, such as vascular malformations and dermatological diseases. Eccrine porocarcinoma is a rarely seen cutaneous malignancy originating from the intraepidermal ductus of eccrine glands. The disease is characterized by nodular lesions primarily located in the lower extremities. The disease may arise de novo or develop from the background of eccrine poroma. Differential diagnoses of eccrine porocarcinoma include various benign and malignant skin conditions such as seborrheic keratosis, verruca, pyogenic granuloma, and squamous cell carcinoma. The histopathological analysis is essential to diagnosis, and dermoscopic imaging of lesions is significant. Eccrine differentiation, cellular pleomorphism, nuclear atypia, invasion in the histopathological examination; carcinoembryonic antigen and epithelial membrane antigen positivity in immunohistochemical study guides the diagnosis. Eccrine porocarcinoma may spread through lymphatic vessels, and therefore it is essential to perform regional lymph node examination and use appropriate imaging methods in patients. The main treatment option for eccrine porocarcinoma is wide surgical excision with clean margins, and excision can be curative in 80% of patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background and Design: Dermatologists have limited experience with dermatological diseases seen in immigrants with Fitzpatrick skin types 5-6 in Turkey, which can cause difficulties in diagnosis. This study aimed to examine the clinical and demographic characteristics of this patient population evaluated in a tertiary health center. Materials and Methods: All patients with Fitzpatrick skin types 5-6 who applied to our dermatology outpatient clinic between June 1, 2018, and July 15, 2021, were included in this single-center, retrospective study. All data were obtained from the electronic database. Results: The study included 65 patients with Fitzpatrick skin types 5-6 from 14 countries. Overall, 37 of the patients were female and 28 were male, and the mean age was 30.7±15.54 years. The patients were most commonly from East Africa (76.9%), and 38 (58.5%) patients were from Somalia. The most common diagnoses were acne (21.5%), infections (20.0%), dermatitis (12.3%), pigmentation disorders (9.2%), and xerosis cutis (9.2%). Biopsy was taken from 6 (9.2%) patients. As regards treatment, only topical treatment was recommended in 55.4%, topical and systemic treatment in 26.1%, systemic treatment in 4.6%, cryotherapy/surgical methods in 6.1%, and further examination in 7.7% of the cases. Conclusion: Acne, dermatitis, pigmentation disorders, and alopecia, which are common diagnoses in our study, are consistent with the diagnoses reported most frequently in patients with Fitzpatrick skin type 5-6. The finding that infections (20.0%) were among the most common diagnoses in our study may be related to the difficult living conditions of this patient population as they are immigrants. Thus, physicians should recognize common dermatological diseases in individuals with Fitzpatrick skin types 5-6. This article discusses a case report of peristomal pyoderma gangrenosum (PG), a rare inflammatory skin condition, that was successfully treated with an interleukin 23 (IL-23) inhibitor. The patient had a history of ankylosing spondylitis and had previously been treated with various medications, including systemic corticosteroids and biologic agents, without success. After undergoing ileostomy revision and starting treatment with risankizumab, the patient's ulcerated lesions improved and no new lesions appeared. Introduction: Acquired perforating dermatosis (APD) is a disease group characterized by transepidermal elimination of dermal connective tissue materials such as collagen, elastic fibers, and keratin through the epidermis and observed with pruritic skin lesions., Objectives: In this study, we aim to clarify the clinical, histopathological, and dermoscopic characteristics of APD, identify the associated systemic disease, and figure out treatment options., Methods: This study was designed as a single-center retrospective, observational, cross-sectional study. We evaluated all accessible APD cases between January 2004 and June 2022 in a tertiary care hospital., Results: A total of 95 patients with confirmed APD were included in the study. Sixty percent of the patients were women and 40% were men. The median age at diagnosis was 63.1 years (35-85 years). The most common site of lesions was the lower extremities which were detected in 86.31% of the patients. The concomitant systemic disease was identified in 84.21% of the patients. The most common systemic disease was type 2 diabetes mellitus (65.26%). Antihistamines and topical corticosteroids were the most commonly prescribed treatment agents., Conclusions: Transepidermal elimination of dermal connective tissue components is a feature of APD and the disease usually presents with pruritic papules and nodules with central keratotic crust or plug. The diagnosis of APD requires a clinical examination and histological investigation. APD is usually accompanied by systemic comorbidities. There are several topical and systemic medications available for APD, however, sometimes the therapy might be challenging.
