Malzemelerde kullanım yerlerine göre ısıl işlem ve sonrasında yüzey kaplama işlemleri mühendislik alanında genişçe uygulanmaktadır. Metallerin mekanik, korozyon ve aşınma direncini arttırmak için ısıl işlem, galvaniz, krom, nikel vb. kaplama uygulamaları sıklıkla yapılırken yetersiz kaldığı durumlar olmaktadır. Malzemeler üzerinde EKB yöntemi ile daha iyi mekanik, korozyon ve aşınma dayanımına sahip kaplamalar yapılmakta ayrıca tüm malzemeyi kaplamak yerine yalnızca çalışan yüzeylerde kaplama işlemi yapılabilmektedir. EKB yöntemi elektrot malzemenin metalik bir yüzey üzerine malzeme biriktirmek amacıyla kısa süreli akım darbeleri üreten kaynak işlemidir. İşlemler genellikle manuel el aplikatörü ile uygulanmaktadır. Malzemelerin korozyon, erozyon ve aşınma direncini arttırmak bakım maliyetlerini azaltmak için otomotiv, tekstil, kimya, uzay, tıp alanlarında kullanımı gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Bu çalışmamda kesici ucu sabitlemek için kullanılan DIN 1.2550 soğuk iş takım çeliğinden imal edilmiş baskı pabucu üzerine EKB yöntemi ile tungsten karbür kaplama yapıldı. Tüm yüzey yerine aşınma maruz kalan yüzeye 20 µm kalınlığında tungsten karbür kaplama yapıldı sonra frekans ile voltaj arttırılarak kaplama kalınlığının da doğru orantıda arttığı görüldü. Son olarak EKB yöntemi ile Inconel 625 süper alaşım, Inconel 725 süper alaşım, Ramor 500 zırh çeliği ve Armor 500 zırh çeliği ara katman (interlayer) olarak uygulanıp sandviç bir tungsten karbür kaplama yapıldı. Tungsten karbür kaplama yapılan numuneler optik mikroskop ile kaplama kalınlıkları ölçüldü. Numunelerin mekanik profilometre cihazında yüzey pürüzlülükleri ölçüldü. CNC yatay torna makinesinde, silindir geometriye sahip gri dökme demir (GG25) malzemenin iç çapından talaş kaldırılmıştır. Gri dökme demir malzemeden 150 ve 300 adet işlendikten sonra, baskı pabucu numunelerinin aşınma derinlik boyları optik mikroskop cihazında ölçüldü. 300 adet GG25 malzeme işleme sonrasında kaplamasız baskı pabucunda aşınma derinlik boyu 1338 µm olarak ölçüldü. En az aşınma derinlik boyu 500 µm olarak ölçülen, inconel 625 süper alaşım ara katman olarak yapılan tungsten karbür kaplamada gerçekleşti. Kaplamasız, tungsten karbür kaplama ve ara katman uygulanarak yapılan tungsten karbür kaplama baskı pabucu numunelerinin yüzey pürüzlülükleri, sertlikleri ve aşınma derinlik boyları karşılaştırıldı., Thermal processing and subsequent surface coating processes are widely used in the field of engineering, according to the places of use in materials. While coating applications such as thermal processing, galvanization, chrome, and nickel are frequently used to improve metal mechanical, corrosion, and wear resistance, they are not always sufficient. Coatings with improved mechanical, corrosion, and abrasion resistance are applied to materials using the Electrospark Deposition (ESD) method. Furthermore, rather than coating the entire material, only the working surfaces can be coated. The ESD method is a welding treatment that uses short-term current pulses to deposit material on the metallic surface of the electrode material. The procedures are usually applied with a manual hand applicator. The use of materials in automotive, textile, chemistry, space, and medicine have been increasing in order to increase corrosion, erosion, and wear resistance and reduce maintenance costs. In this study, the ESD method was used to apply tungsten carbide coating to the clamp made of DIN 1.2550 cold work steel, which is used to fix the cutting edge. Instead of coating the entire surface, a 20 µm thick tungsten carbide coating was applied to the exposed surface. Afterward, the voltage was increased with frequency, and it was seen that the coating thickness increased in direct proportion. Finally, an interlayer of Inconel Alloy 625, Inconel Alloy 725, Ramor 500 steel, and Armor 500 steel was applied using the ESD method, and a sandwich tungsten carbide coating was applied. The coating thickness of the samples with tungsten carbide coating was measured with an optical microscope. The surface roughness of the samples was measured in a mechanical profilometer device. Chip was removed from the inner diameter of the gray cast-iron (GG25) material with cylindrical geometry using a CNC vii horizontal lathe. The wear depth lengths of the clamp samples were measured in an optical microscope device after processing 150 and 300 pieces of gray cast iron material. The wear depth of the uncoated clamp was 1338µm after processing 300 pieces of GG25 material. The tungsten carbide coating, made as an Inconel Alloy 625 interlayer and measuring 500µm in depth, has the least wear. Surface roughness, hardness, and wear depth lengths of uncoated, tungsten carbide coating, and tungsten carbide coating with interlayer, clamp samples were compared.

Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Günümüzde Elektro Kıvılcım Biriktirme (ESD) sistemleri, otomotiv, tekstil, kimya, uzay, tıp, gıda ve askeri alanlardaki kullanımı giderek artmaktadır. Bununla birlikte ESD ile kaplama işlemleri manuel olarak yapılmakta ve bunun için el kuvveti kullanılmaktadır. Bu sebeple, kaplama sistemlerinin otomatik olarak yapılabilmesi için ileri teknoloji ekipmanlar ile donatılması ve çeşitli yardımcı sistemlerle birlikte kullanılmasının gerekliliği ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu ihtiyaçlara çözüm bulmak amacıyla bu tez çalışmasında paslanmaz çelik üzerinde Elektro Kıvılcım Biriktirme yöntemi ile otomatik kaplama yapabilmek için çok eksenli bir mekatronik sistem tasarımının uygulaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ayrıca, bu sistem için iki farklı yardımcı tasarım belirlenmiş ve üretilmiştir. Bunlar; Z eksenindeki yaylı kaplama sistemi ve ağırlık denge kontrollü kuvvet ölçüm geri besleme sistemleridir. Geliştirilen sistemin katı modelleri tasarlanmış, tasarlanan modellerin üretimi gerçekleştirilmiş ve sisteme montajlanarak üç eksenli kaplama sistemi oluşturulmuştur. Bu sistemin kinematik analizleri yapılmış, X ve Y ekseni Mach3 kontrol kartı ve yazılımı ile kontrol edilmiştir. Z eksenindeki DC motor kontrolü ve yardımcı ağırlık ölçüm-denge sistemi için bir devre IV oluşturulmuş ve sistem kontrolü STM32F103 mikro denetleyicisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen üç eksenli sisteme HUYS (Kanada) şirketinden temin edilen ESD kaplama cihazı montajlanarak kaplama sistemi oluşturulmuştur. Geliştirilen sistemde AISI 304 paslanmaz çelik yüzeyine WC kaplaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Paslanmaz çeliğin kaplanması sırasında bilgisayar kontrollü olarak 100 μF, 80V ve 80 Hz olarak belirlenen parametrede, P:50, I:.2, D:0,6 PID değerlerinde üç farklı kaplama deseninde otomatik kaplama işlemi gerçekleştirmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda ağırlık-denge analizleri, mikro ve makro yapı analizleri yapılmıştır. Çalışmalar sonucunda paslanmaz çelik yüzeylerin başarı ile istenilen 100 gram ağırlık kuvvet hassasiyetinde kaplandığı gözlemlenmiştir. Manuel kaplamaya göre sürekli zamanda daha fazla kaplama işleminin otomatik olarak yaptığı ve birim zamanda daha fazla verim sağlandığı sonucuna varılmıştır., Today, Electro Spark Deposition (ESD) systems are increasingly used in automotive, textile, chemistry, space, medicine, food and military fields. However, ESD coating processes are performed manually and hand force is used for this. For this reason, it is necessary to equip the coating systems with advanced technology equipment and to be used with various auxiliary systems in order to make the coating systems automatically. In this thesis, in order to find solutions to these needs, a multi-axis mechatronic system design has been applied in order to make automatic coating on stainless steel by Electro Spark Deposition method. In addition, two different auxiliary designs were determined and produced for this system. These; Spring coating system and weight balance-controlled force measurement feedback systems in the Z axis. Solid models of the developed system were designed, the designed models were produced and assembled to the system and a three-axis coating system was created. Kinematic analysis of this system was made, X and Y axis were controlled by Mach3 control card and software. A circuit was created for the DC motor control and auxiliary weight measurement-balance system in the Z axis and the system control was carried out with the STM32F103 VI microcontroller. The coating system was created by mounting the ESD coating device supplied from HUYS (Canada) to the developed triaxial system. In the developed system, WC coating was applied to the surface of AISI 304 stainless steel. During the coating of stainless steel, computer controlled automatic coating process was carried out in three different coating patterns at P: 50, I: .2, D: 0.6 PID values at the parameter determined as 100 μF, 80V and 80 Hz. At the end of the study, weight-balance analysis, micro and macro structure analysis were made. As a result of the studies, it has been observed that the stainless-steel surfaces are successfully coated with the desired 100-gram weight strength sensitivity. It is concluded that more coating processes are performed automatically in continuous time compared to manual coating and more efficiency is obtained per unit time.

Electro-spark deposition (ESD) and laser beam machining (LBM) are the technologies using the concentrated energy flux. This paper deals with the issue of the impact of laser modification on the morphology and mechanical properties of carbide/copper coatings produced by electro-spark treatment. The coatings were applied to C45 carbon steel samples using the EIL-8A device. The following three types of electrodes made using the powder metallurgy (PM) hot pressing technique, from copper and tungsten carbide powders of different percentage compositions, were used for the coatings: 25% WC and 75% Cu, 50% WC and 50% Cu, and 75% WC and 25% Cu. Laser modification of the surface layers was performed with an Nd:YAG laser. The research focused on the analysis of the morphology of coatings applied by electro-spark technology before and after laser processing. The analysis of the morphology of electro-spark coatings revealed that the coatings had microcracks and pores. The laser beam machining of ESD coatings led to the homogenization of chemical composition, fragmentation of the structure, and elimination of microcracks. In addition, measurements of porosity, microhardness, adhesion, and analysis of XRD phase composition of the electro-spark coatings were performed. Laser processing proved to have a positive effect on improving the adhesion of coatings and reducing their porosity. This paper also presents a simulation model of heat transfer processes for the case of laser radiation impact on a WC-Cu coating. The developed numerical model, describing the influence of laser treatment on the distribution of temperature fields in the heated material (at a given depth) is of significant importance in the development of treatment technologies. Laser-modified ESD coatings perform anti-wear and protective functions, which enable their potential application in means of transport such as rolling stock.

Endüstride birçok alanda mekanik ve konstrüksiyon amaçlı kullanılan çelik malzemeler yüzeylerine yapılan kaplamalar ile malzeme yüksek korozyon ve aşınma dirençleri sergileyebilmektedir. Bu çalışmada A ISI 1008 çeliği altlık numuneleri yüzeyine Elektro-Kıvılcım (ESD) yöntemiyle Tungsten(W), Tungsten Karbür (WC) ve Alaşımlı Çelik elektrotlarla farklı volt ve frekanslarda kaplama gerçekleştirilmiştir. ESD yöntemi, metalik malzemelerin yüzeylerine yaygın yöntemlerin yanı sıra daha iyi bir bağ yapan ve iyi bir yapışma sağlayan elektrik akımlarının meydana getirdiği plazma sayesinde yüzeyde metal biriktirmesini sağlayan küçük bir ark kaynak yöntemidir. Bu çalışmada çelik numuneler Tungsten(W), Tungsten Karbür(WC) ve Alaşımlı Çelik elektrotlarla kaplanmış, numunelerin kaplama öncesi ve kaplama sonrası sertlikleri ve kaplama tabaka kalınlıkları irdelenerek mevcut kaplamalar balistik amacıyla incelenmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda alaşımlı çelik elektrot ile kaplamada ana malzemenin yaklaşık iki katı, tungsten elektrot ile kaplamada ana malzemenin yaklaşık üç katı ve tungsten karbür elektrot ile kaplamada ana malzemenin yaklaşık beş katı sertlik elde edilmiştir. Steel materials used for mechanical and construction purposes can exhibit high corrosion and abrasion resistance with coatings made on their surfaces. In this study, the surface of AISI 1008 steel pad substrate was coated with Tungsten (W), Tungsten Carbide (WC) and Alloy Steel electrodes at different volts and frequencies by Electro-Spark Deposition (ESD) method. The ESD method is a small arc welding method that allows metal deposits on the surface, thanks to the common methods for the surface of metallic materials, as well as the plasma that brings about a better bond and good adhesion of the electric currents. In this study, the steel samples were coated with Tungsten (W), Tungsten Carbide (WC) and Alloy Steel electrodes, and the precoating and post-coating hardnesses and coating layer thicknesses of the samples were examined and the existing coatings were examined for ballistic purposes. As a result of the analyzes made, hardness was obtained about twice as much as the main material in the coating with the alloy steel electrode, about three times in the coating with the tungsten electrode and about five times as much as the main material in the coating with the tungsten carbide electrode.
