Tungsten (W) plays a crucial role in the lifetime of the plasma-facing components of DEMO. In order to avoid oxidation, W-based alloys have been studied as alternatives to W. In this work, the Monte Carlo SRIM-2013 simulation program was used to calculate the nuclear stopping power, electronic stopping power, amount of target vacancies, displacements, replacement collisions, and total target damage of W, W-Cr-Si, W-Cr-Ti, and W-Cr-Y by hydrogen and helium ion bombardment. It is found that W is resistant to vacancies, atomic displacement, and total damage compared to W-based alloys. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Doping with various elements to the MgO film is better suited for increasing secondary electron emission coefficient γ. This allows the evolution of the luminous efficacy and the lifespan of the plasma-related devices. The resistance against ion sputtering is another critical issue for the prolongation of the lifespan. This research focuses on the effect of H-, Graphite -, Na-, Fe-and Zn -ion-doping on sputtering yields and numbers of vacancies created in MgO as a function of ion energy and incident angle. MgO is one of the popular materials to be used as protection of the phosphor layer from plasma damage and reduction of the discharge voltages in the alternating current–type plasma display panel (AC‐PDP) cells. However, one limitation on the AC‐PDP lifetime is plasma erosion of MgO barrier coating. In order to maintain or extend the lifetime of the AC‐PDP, we have applied potential materials such as alumina (α‐Al2O3), titanium dioxide (TiO2), and aluminum titanate (Al2TiO5) as a thin coating on the alkaline earth metal oxides. This review focuses on the effect of α‐Al2O3, TiO2, and Al2TiO5 on sputtering yields of MgO, CaO, SrO, and BaO bombarded by Ne+ and Xe+ ions in the energy range 100 to 300 eV. The SRIM‐2013 simulations have been compared with the available experimental data to test the validity of the model potential and to extract the surface binding energies. These energies are employed to obtain more realistic sputtering yields of MgO, CaO, SrO, and BaO coated with three different ceramic coatings. Our results have shown that the coated surfaces exhibit better erosion resistance than the uncoated surfaces. It is found that the Al2TiO5 coating provided superior protection against physical sputtering of the substrate; it will demonstrate better performance in comparison with α‐Al2O3 or TiO2 coating. Graphene is a single layer thick consisted by honeycomb‐packed sp2 carbon atom; nanoporous graphene holds great promise in the application of filtration such as reverse osmosis method using a semipermeable membrane to remove ions, molecules, and larger particles from drinking water. The movement of molecules and ions can caused by a collision between the ions, molecules, and the graphene, so we can talk about the sputtering. In this work, we have studied the sputtering yield by Na and Cl ions to examine the potential and the challenges of osmosis membrane from graphene in order to predict the performance of the graphene membrane for use in the reverse osmosis method. • A multi-walled mixed spin (1/2; 1; 1/2; 1) Ising nanowire with a basic hexagonal shape is built. • For ferrimagnetic and ferromagnetic sates, different magnetic properties are established. • The magnetization types and compensating behaviors are strongly influenced by different Hamiltonian settings. • Unique outcomes are discovered. Using the Effective Field Theory with correlation, we investigate the magnetic properties and the phase diagram of a mixed-spin (½, 1, ½, 1) Ising core-multi shell nanowire structure. Typical temperature dependence of the total magnetization, the core and shell magnetization for several fixed values of exchange couplings were discussed in detail. The phase diagrams of the critical and compensation temperatures were displayed in various Hamiltonian parameter planes. Our established results have been successfully compared with results from several experimental and theoretical studies.
