Abstract: The cross section of the process $e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-$ has been measured in the center-of-mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on an integrated luminosity of about 88 pb$^{-1}$, of which 62 pb$^{-1}$ represent a complete dataset collected by CMD-3 at center-of-mass energies below 1 GeV. In the dominant region near the $\rho$ resonance a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% was achieved. The implications of the presented results for the evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon are discussed., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures; as published in Phys. Abstract: The cross section of the process $e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-$ has been measured in the center of mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on a full dataset collected below 1 GeV during three data taking seasons, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 62 pb$^{-1}$. In the dominant $\rho$-resonance region, a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% has been reached. At energies around $\phi$-resonance the $\pi^+\pi^-$ production cross section was measured for the first time with high beam energy resolution. The forward-backward charge asymmetry in the $\pi^+\pi^-$ production has also been measured. It shows a strong deviation from the theoretical prediction based on the conventional scalar quantum electrodynamics framework, and it is in good agreement with the generalized vector-meson-dominance and dispersive-based predictions. Abstract: In 2018 the Belle II experiment, aimed at detailed studies of B-mesons, started operation at the electron-positron collider SuperKEKB at KEK (Japan). This was preceded by a long and quite successful work of the B-factories of previous generations, including the Belle experiment for which Belle II is a successor. This experiment is unique and has no analogues or competitors in the world. The spectrum of problems it is aimed at is quite broad: from studies of hadronic states containing heavy quarks to precision measurements and searches for New Physics beyond the Standard Model. Abstract: The paper describes a method of the charged particle identification, developed for the \mbox{CMD-3} detector, installed at the VEPP-2000 $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. The method is based on the application of the boosted decision trees classifiers, trained for the optimal separation of electrons, muons, pions and kaons in the momentum range from 100 to $1200~{\rm MeV}/c$. The input variables for the classifiers are linear combinations of the energy depositions of charged particles in 12 layers of the liquid xenon calorimeter of the \mbox{CMD-3}. The event samples for training of the classifiers are taken from the simulation. Various issues of the detector response tuning in simulation and calibration of the calorimeter strip channels are considered. Application of the method is illustrated by the examples of separation of the $e^+e^-(\gamma)$ and $\pi^+\pi^-(\gamma)$ final states and of selection of the $K^+K^-$ final state at high energies.

Abstract: We review the present status of the Standard Model calculation of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. This is performed in a perturbative expansion in the fine-structure constant $\alpha$ and is broken down into pure QED, electroweak, and hadronic contributions. The pure QED contribution is by far the largest and has been evaluated up to and including $\mathcal{O}(\alpha^5)$ with negligible numerical uncertainty. The electroweak contribution is suppressed by $(m_\mu/M_W)^2$ and only shows up at the level of the seventh significant digit. It has been evaluated up to two loops and is known to better than one percent. Hadronic contributions are the most difficult to calculate and are responsible for almost all of the theoretical uncertainty. The leading hadronic contribution appears at $\mathcal{O}(\alpha^2)$ and is due to hadronic vacuum polarization, whereas at $\mathcal{O}(\alpha^3)$ the hadronic light-by-light scattering contribution appears. Given the low characteristic scale of this observable, these contributions have to be calculated with nonperturbative methods, in particular, dispersion relations and the lattice approach to QCD. The largest part of this review is dedicated to a detailed account of recent efforts to improve the calculation of these two contributions with either a data-driven, dispersive approach, or a first-principle, lattice-QCD approach. The final result reads $a_\mu^\text{SM}=116\,591\,810(43)\times 10^{-11}$ and is smaller than the Brookhaven measurement by 3.7$\sigma$. The experimental uncertainty will soon be reduced by up to a factor four by the new experiment currently running at Fermilab, and also by the future J-PARC experiment. Abstract: There has recently been a dramatic renewal of interest in the subjects of hadron spectroscopy and charm physics. This renaissance has been driven in part by the discovery of a plethora of charmonium-like $XYZ$ states at BESIII and $B$ factories, and the observation of an intriguing proton-antiproton threshold enhancement and the possibly related $X(1835)$ meson state at BESIII, as well as the threshold measurements of charm mesons and charm baryons. We present a detailed survey of the important topics in tau-charm physics and hadron physics that can be further explored at BESIII over the remaining lifetime of BEPCII operation. This survey will help in the optimization of the data-taking plan over the coming years, and provides physics motivation for the possible upgrade of BEPCII to higher luminosity., Comment: 210 pages; Published in CPC

8. A study of the corrections to factorization in $\bar{B}^0 \to D^{* +} \omega \pi^-$

Abstract: A factorization hypothesis is tested by examining a form factor of the $\omega\pi$ production in hadronic $B^0 \to D^{\ast \pm}\omega\pi^\mp$ decays. The form factor is compared to that from available $\tau$-lepton as well as $e^+e^-$ data using the conserved vector current hypothesis. The difference of normalizations of form factor shapes from $B$ and $\tau~(e^+e^-)$ data indicates the important role of the large $N_c$ limit in QCD. Moreover, the growth of the difference between the form factors with the $\omega\pi$ invariant mass is related to the perturbative QCD corrections of factorization. The current precision of $B$ data does not allow one to find any evidence of corrections to factorization. Abstract: The cross section of the process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ is measured using the data collected with the CMD-$3$ detector at the VEPP-$2000$ collider in the center-of-mass energy range from $1.1$ to $2.0$ GeV. The decay mode $\eta\rightarrow\gamma\gamma$ is used for $\eta$ meson reconstruction in the data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $78.3$ pb$^{-1}$. The energy dependence of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ cross section is fitted within the framework of vector meson dominance in order to extract the $\Gamma(\rho(1450)\rightarrow{^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(\rho(1450)\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-})$ and the $\Gamma(\rho(1700)\rightarrow{e^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(\rho(1700)\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-})$ products. Based on conservation of vector current, the analysed data are used to test the relationship between the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ cross section and the spectral function in $\tau^-\rightarrow\eta\pi^-\pi^0\nu_\tau$ decay. The $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow\eta\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ cross section measured with the CMD-$3$ detector is in good agreement with the previous measurements.

Abstract: The process $e^+e^-{\to}K^+K^-\eta$ has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.59 to 2.007\,GeV using the data sample of 59.5 pb$^{-1}$, collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider in 2011, 2012 and 2017. The $K^+K^-\eta$ final state is found to be dominated by the contribution of the $\phi(1020)\eta$ intermediate state. The cross section of the process $e^+e^-{\to}\phi(1020)\eta$ has been measured with a systematic uncertainty of 5.1$\%$ on the base of 3009 $\pm$ 67 selected events. The obtained cross section has been used to calculate the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon: $a_{\mu}^{\phi\eta}(E<1.8\, {\rm GeV})=(0.321 \pm 0.015_{\rm stat} \pm 0.016_{\rm syst}) \times 10^{-10}$, $a_{\mu}^{\phi\eta}(E<2.0\, {\rm GeV})=(0.440 \pm 0.015_{\rm stat} \pm 0.022_{\rm syst}) \times 10^{-10}$. From the cross section approximation the $\phi(1680)$ meson parameters have been determined with better statistical precision, than in previous studies.

Abstract: The present work continues a series of the KEDR measurements of the $R$ value that started in 2010 at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider. By combining new data with our previous results in this energy range we measured the values of $R_{\text{uds}}$ and $R$ at nine center-of-mass energies between 3.08 and 3.72 GeV. The total accuracy is about or better than $2.6\%$ at most of energy points with a systematic uncertainty of about $1.9\%$. Abstract: The product of the electronic width of the $\psi(2S)$ meson and the branching fraction of its decay to the muon pair was measured in the $e^{+}e^{-} \to \psi(2S) \to \mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ process using nine data sets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 6.5 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider: \[ \Gamma_{ee}\times\mathcal{B}_{\mu\mu} = 19.3 \pm 0.3 \pm 0.5 ~\text{eV}. \] Adding the previous KEDR results on hadronic and leptonic channels, the values of the $\psi(2S)$ electronic width were obtained under two assumptions: either with the assumption of lepton universality \[ \Gamma_{ee} = 2.279 \pm 0.015 \pm 0.042 ~\text{keV} \] or without it, summing up hadronic and three independent leptonic channels: \[ \Gamma_{ee} = 2.282 \pm 0.015 \pm 0.042 ~\text{keV}. \]

Abstract: The product of the electronic width of the $J/\psi$ meson and the branching fractions of its decay to hadrons and electrons has been measured using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider. The obtained values are: $\Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi) = 5.550 \pm 0.056 \pm 0.089 \, \text{keV}, $ $\Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi) \cdot \mathcal{B}_\text{hadrons}(J/\psi) = 4.884 \pm 0.048 \pm 0.078 \, \text{keV}, $ $\Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi) \cdot \mathcal{B}_{ee}(J/\psi) = 0.3331 \pm 0.0066 \pm 0.0040 \, \text{keV}.$ The uncertainties shown are statistical and systematic, respectively. Using the result presented and the world-average value of the electronic branching fraction, one obtains the total width of the $J/\psi$ meson: $\Gamma = 92.94 \pm 1.83 \, \text{keV}.$ These results are consistent with the previous experiments., Comment: 19 pages, 13 figures

Abstract: The process $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-$ has been studied using $1.7 \times 10^6$ events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.7 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector in the center-of-mass energy range 1010--1060 MeV. The cross section measured with an about 2\% systematic uncertainty and it is used to calculate the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon $a_{\mu}^{K^+K^-} = (19.33 \pm 0.40) \times 10^{-10}$, and to obtain the $\phi(1020)$ meson parameters. We consider the relationship between the $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-$ and $e^+e^- \to K^0_SK^0_L$ cross sections and compare it to the theoretical expectations.

Abstract: A cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to \pipi\pipi$ has been measured using 6798$\pm$93 signal events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.8 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector in the center-of-mass energy range 920--1060 MeV. The measured cross section exhibits an interference pattern of the $\phi(1020)\to\pipi\pipi$ decay with a non-resonant process $e^+e^- \to \pipi\pipi$, from which we obtain the branching fraction of the doubly suppressed decays (by G-parity and OZI rule): $\BR(\phi\to\pipi\pipi) = (6.5\pm2.7\pm1.6)\times 10^{-6}$., Comment: 16 pages, 6 figures

Abstract: Using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider, we have determined the values of $R$ at thirteen points of the center-of-mass energy between 1.84 and 3.05 GeV. The achieved accuracy is about or better than $3.9\%$ at most of the energy points with a systematic uncertainty less than $2.4\%$.

Abstract: Using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider, we have measured the values of $R_{\text{uds}}$ and $R$ at seven points of the center-of-mass energy between 3.12 and 3.72 GeV. The total achieved accuracy is about or better than $3.3\%$ at most of energy points with a systematic uncertainty of about $2.1\%$. At the moment it is the most accurate measurement of $R(s)$ in this energy range.

Abstract: The process $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1500 to 2000\,MeV using a data sample of 23 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. Using about 24000 selected events, the $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ cross section has been measured with a systematic uncertainty decreasing from 11.7\% at 1500-1600\,MeV to 6.1\% above 1800\,MeV. A preliminary study of $K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ production dynamics has been performed.

Abstract: Using a data sample of 6.8 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider we select about 2700 events of the $e^+e^- \to p\bar{p}$ process and measure its cross section at 12 energy ponts with about 6\% systematic uncertainty. From the angular distribution of produced nucleons we obtain the ratio $|G_{E}/G_{M}| = 1.49 \pm 0.23 \pm 0.30$.

Abstract: Using the inclusive photon spectrum based on a data sample collected at the $J/\psi$ peak with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider, we measured the rate of the radiative decay $J/\psi\to\gamma\eta_{\rm c}$ as well as $\eta_{\rm c}$ mass and width. Taking into account an asymmetric photon lineshape we obtained $\Gamma^0_{\gamma\eta_{\rm c}}=2.98\pm0.18 \phantom{|}^{+0.15}_{-0.33}$ keV, $M_{\eta_{\rm c}} = 2983.5 \pm 1.4 \phantom{|}^{+1.6}_{-3.6}$ MeV/$c^2$, $\Gamma_{\eta_{\rm c}} = 27.2 \pm 3.1 \phantom{|}^{+5.4}_{-2.6}$ MeV., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures

Abstract: The ratio of the electron and muon widths of the $J/\psi$ meson has been measured using direct $J/\psi$ decays in the KEDR experiment at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider. The result $\Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi)/\Gamma_{\mu\mu}(J/\psi)=1.0022\pm0.0044\pm0.0048\ (0.65\%)$ is in good agreement with the lepton universality. Abstract: The cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to 3(\pi^+\pi^-)$ has been measured using 22 pb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider in the c.m. energy range 1.5 -- 2.0 GeV. The measured cross section exhibits a sharp drop near the $p\bar p$ threshold. A first study of dynamics of six-pion production has been performed.

26. Confronting electron-positron annihilation into hadrons with QCD: an operator product expansion analysis

Abstract: Experimental data on the total cross section of $e^+ e^-$ annihilation into hadrons are confronted with QCD and the operator product expansion using finite energy sum rules. Specifically, the power corrections in the operator product expansion, i.e. the vacuum condensates, of dimension $d = 2$, 4 and 6 are determined using recent isospin $I=0+1$ data sets. Reasonably stable results are obtained which are compatible within errors with values from $\tau$-decay. However, the rather large data uncertainties, together with the current value of the strong coupling constant, lead to very large errors in the condensates. It also appears that the separation into isovector and isoscalar pieces introduces additional uncertainties and errors. In contrast, the high precision $\tau$-decay data of the ALEPH collaboration in the vector channel allows for a more precise determination of the condensates. This is in spite of QCD asymptotics not quite been reached at the end of the $\tau$ spectrum. We point out that isospin violation is negligible in the integrated cross sections, unlike the case of individual channels., Comment: Results now given for both FOPT and CIPT. Abstract: We report a new precise determination of the leptonic widths of the J/psi meson performed with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. The measured values of the J/psi parameters are: \Gamma_{ee}\times\Gamma_{ee}/\Gamma = 0.3323 \pm 0.0064 (stat.) \pm 0.0048 (syst.) keV \Gamma_{ee}\times\Gamma_{\mu\mu}/\Gamma=0.3318 \pm 0.0052 (stat.) \pm 0.0063 (syst.) keV. Assuming $e\mu$ universality and using the table value of the branching ratios the leptonic \Gamma_{ll}= 5.59 \pm 0.12 keV width and the total \Gamma=94.1 \pm 2.7 keV widths were obtained. Abstract: We report the final results of a study of the \psi(3770) meson using a data sample collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider. The data analysis takes into account the interference between the resonant and nonresonant $D\bar{D}$ production, where the latter is related to the nonresonant part of the energy-dependent form factor $F_D$. The vector dominance approach and several empirical parameterizations have been tried for the nonresonant $F_D^{\NR}(s)$. Our results for the mass and total width of \psi(3770) are M = 3779.2 ^{+1.8}_{-1.7} ^{+0.5}_{-0.7} ^{+0.3}_{-0.3} MeV, \Gamma =24.9 ^{+4.6}_{-4.0} ^{+0.5}_{-0.6} ^{+0.2}_{-0.9} MeV, where the first, second and third uncertainties are statistical, systematic and model, respectively. For the electron partial width two possible solutions have been found: (1) \Gamma_{ee} = 154 ^{+79}_{-58} ^{+17}_{-9} ^{+13}_{-25} eV, (2) \Gamma_{ee} = 414 ^{+72}_{-80} ^{+24}_{-26} ^{+90}_{-10} eV. Our statistics are insufficient to prefer one solution to another. The solution (2) mitigates the problem of non-$D\bar{D}$ decays but is disfavored by potential models. It is shown that taking into account the resonance--continuum interference in the near-threshold region affects resonance parameters, thus the results presented can not be directly compared with the corresponding PDG values obtained ignoring this effect.

Abstract: A high-precision determination of the main parameters of the \psi(2S) resonance has been performed with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e^{+}e^{-} collider in three scans of the \psi(2S) -- \psi(3770) energy range. Fitting the energy dependence of the multihadron cross section in the vicinity of the \psi(2S) we obtained the mass value M = 3686.114 +- 0.007 +- 0.011 ^{+0.002}_{-0.012} MeV and the product of the electron partial width by the branching fraction into hadrons \Gamma_{ee}*B_{h} = 2.233 +- 0.015 +- 0.037 +- 0.020 keV. The third error quoted is an estimate of the model dependence of the result due to assumptions on the interference effects in the cross section of the single-photon e^{+}e^{-} annihilation to hadrons explicitly considered in this work. Implicitly, the same assumptions were employed to obtain the charmonium leptonic width and the absolute branching fractions in many experiments. Using the result presented and the world average values of the electron and hadron branching fractions, one obtains the electron partial width and the total width of the \psi(2S): \Gamma_{ee} =2.282 +- 0.015 +- 0.038 +- 0.021 keV, \Gamma = 296 +- 2 +- 8 +- 3 keV. These results are consistent with and more than two times more precise than any of the previous experiments.

Abstract: We present a study of the inclusive photon spectrum from 6.3 million J/psi decays collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e+e- collider. We measure the branching fraction of the radiative decay J/psi -> eta_c gamma, eta_c width and mass. Abstract: The $\phi$(1020) meson leptonic width has been determined from the combined analysis of 4 major decay modes of the resonance ($\phi\to K^+ K^-,K^0_LK^0_S,\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0,\eta\gamma$) studied with the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M $e^+e^-$ collider. The following value has been obtained: $\Gamma(\phi\to e^+e^-) = 1.235\pm 0.006\pm 0.022$ keV. The $\phi(1020)$ meson parameters in four main decay channels have been also recalculated: $B(\phi\to K^+K^-) = 0.493\pm 0.003\pm 0.007$, $B(\phi\to K_LK_S) = 0.336\pm 0.002\pm 0.006$, $B(\phi\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0) = 0.155\pm 0.002\pm 0.005$, $B(\phi\to\eta\gamma) = 0.0138\pm 0.0002\pm 0.0002$., Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures

Abstract: Monte-Carlo generator with photon jets radiation in collinear regions for the process \eegg is described in detail. Radiative corrections in the first order of $\alpha$ are treated exactly. Large leading logarithmic corrections coming from collinear regions are taken into account in all orders of $\alpha$ by applying the Structure Function approach. Theoretical precision of the cross section with radiative corrections is estimated to be 0.2%. Abstract: Investigation at a $\phi$--factory can shed light on several debated issues in particle physics. We discuss: i) recent theoretical development and experimental progress in kaon physics relevant for the Standard Model tests in the flavor sector, ii) the sensitivity we can reach in probing CPT and Quantum Mechanics from time evolution of entangled kaon states, iii) the interest for improving on the present measurements of non-leptonic and radiative decays of kaons and eta/eta$^\prime$ mesons, iv) the contribution to understand the nature of light scalar mesons, and v) the opportunity to search for narrow di-lepton resonances suggested by recent models proposing a hidden dark-matter sector. Abstract: We present a study of the inclusive photon spectra from 5.9 million J/psi decays collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e+e- collider. We measure the branching fraction of radiative decay J/psi to eta_c gamma, eta_c width and mass. Abstract: The products of the electron width of the J/\psi meson and the branching fraction of its decays to the lepton pairs were measured using data from the KEDR experiment at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider. The results are \Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi)*Br(J/\psi->e^+e^-)=(0.3323\pm0.0064\pm0.0048) keV, \Gamma_{ee}(J/\psi)*Br(J/\psi->\mu^+\mu^-)=(0.3318\pm0.0052\pm0.0063) keV. Their combinations \Gamma_{ee}\times(\Gamma_{ee}+\Gamma_{\mu\mu})/\Gamma=(0.6641\pm0.0082\pm0.0100) keV, \Gamma_{ee}/\Gamma_{\mu\mu}=1.002\pm0.021\pm0.013 can be used to improve theaccuracy of the leptonic and full widths and test leptonic universality. Assuming e\mu universality and using the world average value of the lepton branching fraction, we also determine the leptonic \Gamma_{ll}=5.59\pm0.12 keV and total \Gamma=94.1\pm2.7 keV widths of the J/\psi meson., Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures

Abstract: The process e+ e- -> phi -> K+ K- has been studied with the CMD-2 detector using about 542 000 events detected in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.01 to 1.034 GeV. The systematic error of the cross section is estimated to be 2.2%. The phi(1020) meson parameters in the phi -> K+K- decay channel have been measured: sigma_0(phi-> K+K-) = 2016 +- 8 +- 44 nb, m(phi) = 1019.441 +- 0.008 +- 0.080 MeV/c2, Gamma(phi) = 4.24 +- 0.02 +- 0.03 MeV, B(e+e-)B(K+K-) = (14.27 +- 0.05 +- 0.31)*10(-5)., Comment: 12 pages, 6 figures, 2 tables, uses elsart.cls (second version - some figures are corrected)
