Jeweler, Fine Repairing A Specialty, 30 North State Street, Westerville, OH." The front side is a copy of a print which has the inscription at the bottom "305 America First" and "©F.A.S." The print depicts a sailor raising a flag on a ship with the background of a battle on the sea. The print copy has a border of ornate designs in blue. There is a wooden, rectangle-shaped stick attached to the cardboard section which serves as a handle. The fan is in a square plastic casing

A fan made out of cardboard, most likely an old advertisement due to the ad for The Great Cambridge Fair on the backside; it reads "The Great Cambridge Fair, Sept. 3-4-5-6, 1918, Cambridge, N.Y." The front side is a copy of a print which has the inscription at the bottom "303 Birth of Our Flag" The print depicts a woman sitting on a chair in front of a colonial style house and she is sewing the United States's flag. The print copy has a border of ornate designs in a faded red color. There is a wooden, rectangle-shaped stick attached to the cardboard section which serves as a handle. White paper fan with skeleton made of brown-painted wooden sticks. The middle five sections of both sides have "We are free" in cursive at the top. One side has illustrations of two women sewing, a woman walking in front of the Capitol building, a man making a public speech, three people working in a field, and a beach setting. The right-most section of this side reads "By buying War Bonds and Stamps, By Writing to our men, By community work, We're ready to give". The left-most section reads "By Keeping our spirit, By Loving every scrap, By Clever cooking, We'll keep ourselves free". The opposite side has the illustrations of a family of four, a group of children in front of a schoolhouse, a couple and their child reading, and a woman writing. The right-most section of this side reads "We, the Women of America, In Freedom we work In Freedom, we live To keep ourselves Free, We're Ready To Give." The left-most side reads "By Using every minute, By Holding our Tongues, By Guarding Children, We'll Keep Ourselves Free." The bottom of both sides reads "Compliments of early American Old Spice, Shulton, Inc."

Shell is made of polished brass, with what appears to be an engraved and etched fan made of leaves. Surrounding the fan are four large flowers with stems and curling tendrils. A decorative border surrounds these images.
