Emotional labor is about employees in the service sector involving their emotions while performing the service job as required. Emotions are also used for commercial purposes. The study analyzes data on emotional labor through bibliometric and science mapping methods. For the analyses, data between 1982 and 2024 are scanned in the Web of Science (WoS) database, and data for 2,925 documents are accessed. After loading the data, the VOSviewer program is utilized to analyze it for bibliometric and science mapping purposes. Subsequently, the investigation unveiles the foremost authors, countries, journals, institutions, and keywords in emotional labor research. This is followed by analyzing their co-authorship, co-citation, bibliographic coupling, and keyword co-occurrence models. As a result, in emotional labor research, it is found that Alicia A. Grandey is the most productive and most cited author, the USA is the most productive country, Frontiers in Psychology is the most productive journal, and the most frequently encountered keywords are burnout, surface acting, job satisfaction, deep acting, and emotional exhaustion, respectively. The analysis findings reveal a collaborative nexus among authors, countries, and institutions, offering visual network maps and comprehensive insights into emotional labor's present status and trends within the scientific literature. Elde edilen veriler ışığında araştırma modeli hipotezleri AMOS programı ile Yapısal Eşitlik Modeli (YEM) kullanılmıştır. Today, one of the most important factors that institutions have in order to survive in the competitive environment and to be in an advantageous situation is human resources. It is also important that the human resources of the institutions in the service sector are compatible with the organization and job they work for. In particular, it is important to what extent the emotional labor behaviors of employees who are in constant interaction with customers are affected by personorganization fit and person-job fit. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of person-organization fit and person-job fit on emotional labor behaviors. Within the framework of this purpose, the necessary data were obtained as a result of the questionnaire applied to 324 bank employees working in the banking sector in Aydın region. The data obtained were analyzed and evaluated with SPSS 25.0 program. As a result of the statistical analysis; It has been determined that personorganization fit and person-job fit have a negative effect on surface behavior. While person-organization fit does not have a significant effect on in depth behavior, it has been determined that person-job fit has a positive effect on in depth behavior. Emotional labor is a concept nown as conveying the emotions expected in accordance with the organizational structure of the people during the service and is associated with the variables related to adverse mental health. People have to perform some roles in their working lives as well as in their social lives. To ensure guest satisfaction and sustainability in this situation, institutions develop various behavioral patterns, especially for some employees in direct contact with the guest. These behavioral patterns, which have become the standards of institutions, aim to create a positive perception of guests. Therefore, employees adopt and apply various emotional labor attitudes in line with the teachings and demands that make up brand's corporate culture. Eployees of the service sector, which is a labor-intensive sector, cannot express their feelings, limit them, and as a result become alienated from themselves and the work, they do due to these teachings required by the brands. The situation mentioned above, directly and indirectly, affects the decrease in job satisfaction. This study aims to reveal the effects of the emotional labor of the personnel working in the chain food and beverage businesses in the hospitality sector on their job satisfaction. In addition, it is also aimed to determine to what extent the emotional labor and job satisfaction structures of the personnel working in chain food and beverage businesses in Turkey are in the hospitality sector and whether this measure differs according to the demographic characteristics of the employees. The study is based on the online survey results applied to the personnel working in chain food and beverage businesses operating in Turkey in 2022. According to the 402 questionnaires obtained from the research, a data set that strongly carries the elements of reliability and validity was formed. In today's world, the presentation in service has become important. Therefore, organizations give importance to customer satisfaction in order to gain competitive advantage. Organizations determine some emotional behavior rules in order to ensure customer satisfaction and make customers feel better. Thus, emotions are included in the work done physically and mentally, and emotions become a part of the work. On the other hand, the fact that people have to exhibit emotional behavior rules that are incompatible with their real feelings during work can affect them negatively. This dissonance can cause a variety of negative consequences for employee; such as low performance and work alienation. In this context, the aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the emotional labor behaviors and individual performances of sales consultants and their work alienation. The research has been conducted on 255 sales consultants working in shopping malls. Survey form has been used as data collection method. Factor analysis and regression analysis were performed during the data analysis process. According to the results of the analysis, it was determined that emotional labor behavior has a significant and positive effect on work alienation. Organizational support is the establishment of a healthy, productive, and mutually beneficial environment by taking measures for the welfare of the employees and developing various practices. Although organizations may make efforts in this direction, it is very difficult to go beyond the perceived situation. For this reason, the concept of Perceived Organizational Support (POS), which is a criterion and an emotional perception of the value given to them by the organizations, comes into play in determining the reflection of organizational support. The concept that mediates and complements POS in the creation and maintenance of positive emotions in the work environment is emotional labor. Emotional labor is the display of emotional behaviors appropriate to the situation that the organization needs and expects from its employees and consists of three sub-dimensions: superficial, deep and sincere behavior. From an organizational point of view, the emotional labor process needs to be controlled and managed in order for POS to yield desired results for the employee. To do so, the relationships between POS and emotional labor and emotional labor sub-dimensions is to be examined. In the current research, we aimed to examine the relationship between organizational support perceptions and emotional labor behaviors of flight attendants working in the civil aviation sector, where emotional labor is very important and valuable. The research was carried out according to the screening model with the participation of 465 cabin attendants. The results revealed that there is a negative and weak relationship between the perceived organizational support perception of flight attendants and superficial acting, a weak level in the opposite direction, a weak level in the same direction with deep acting, and a moderately significant correlation between the same directional and natural emotions. Bu araştırmada öğretmenlerin duygusal emek eğilimleri ile tükenmişlikleri arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenmesi ve beden eğitimi ve diğer branş öğretmenlerinin değişkenlere yönelik görüşlerinin farklılaşma durumlarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. İlişkisel tarama modelinde gerçekleştirilen araştırmanın örneklem grubunu 338 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri “Duygusal Emek Ölçeği” ve “Maslach Tükenmişlik Envanteri” kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Değişkenlere ilişkin betimsel istatistiklerde aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapma değerlerinden, gruplar arasındaki farklılaşmayı belirlemede bağımsız örneklemler t-Testinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; öğretmenlerin yüzeysel rol yapma eğilimlerinin ve duyarsızlaşmalarının düşük düzeyde olduğu, derinden rol yapma eğilimlerinin ve duygusal tükenmişliklerinin orta düzeye yakın olduğu, doğal duygular eğilimlerinin ve kişisel başarı algılarının ise yüksek düzeyde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Yol analizi sonuçlarına göre doğal duygular ve derinden rol yapma eğiliminin tükenmişliğin tüm boyutlarını yordadığı, yüzeysel rol yapma eğiliminin ise sadece duygusal tükenmişliği yordadığı belirlenmiştir. Nedensellik anlamı taşımasa da istatistiksel olarak doğal duygular ve derinden rol yapma eğilimi arttıkça kişisel başarının önemli bir oranda arttığı, duyarsızlaşma ve duygusal tükenmişliğin ise azaldığı ortaya çıkmıştır.

Aim: In this study, we aim to investigate the effect of organizational silence level on emotional labour in nurses. Method: In the study prepared for this purpose, 950 nurses working at Erciyes University Health Practice and Research Center constituted the target population of the research. The study sample has calculated as 274 people with a 5% margin of error in the 95% confidence interval. The sample group consisted of 250 (91.2%) nurses selected by a simple random sampling method.Findings: As a result of the findings, a statistically significant relationship between the emotional labor behavior subscales of nurses and the organizational silence subscales was found to be very weak in a positive way between the acquiescent silence scale and the variables of surface acting, deep acting, emotional effort and suppression of real emotions.Results: Our study reveals the positive effect of organizational silence on the emotional labor in nurses. When we examined the average of the organizational silence scale subscales and emotional labor scale subscales, we saw that nurses obtained the highest score from the prosocial silence subscale and the lowest from the defensive silence subscale of the organizational silence scale. In this study, it was aimed to test the effect of psychological resilience on employee performance, life satisfaction, emotional labor and job satisfaction. In the study, the quantitative research method was used. Questionnaire form was used as data collection tool. The sample consisted of employees of a shopping center. Araştırma örneklemi Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Konya Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Konya Numune Hastanesi ile Beyhekim Devlet Hastanesinde görev yapan 417 sağlık çalışanından oluşmaktadır. Verilerin elde edilmesinde araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan kişisel bilgi formu, Moorman (1991) tarafından hazırlanan ve Yıldırım (2003) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanarak geçerlik-güvenirlik çalışmaları yapılan Örgütsel Adalet Ölçeği ve Diefendorff vd. (2005) tarafından oluşturulan, Basım ve Begenirbaş (2012) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanıp geçerlik-güvenirlik çalışmaları yapılan Duygusal Emek Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçları %95’lik güven aralığında değerlendirilmiştir. Örgütsel Adalet Ölçeğinin bu çalışmada Cronbach’s Alpha katsayısı 0,96; alt ölçeklerinin Cronbach’s Alpha katsayısı ise Dağıtım Adaleti için 0,85, Prosedür Adaleti için 0,91 ve Etkileşim Adaleti içinse 0,95 olarak saptanmıştır. Duygusal Emek Ölçeğinin Cronbach’s Alpha katsayısı 0,81, alt boyut Cronbach’s Alpha katsayıları ise Yüzeysel Davranış için 0,91, Derin Davranış için 0,79 ve Doğal Davranış için 0,88 olarak saptanmıştır.Örgütsel adalet algısı ile görev yılı arasında anlamlı farklılık olduğu görülmüştür. Duygusal emek alt boyutu yüzeysel davranışla görev ve aylık gelir arasında, derin davranış ile öğrenim düzeyi arasında, doğal davranışla ise görev ve aylık gelir arasında anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Örgütsel adalet algısının, doğal davranış üzerinde pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı etkiye sahip olduğu bulgusu elde edilmiştir. Buna göre çalışanların örgütsel adalet algısı yükseldikçe doğal davranışları artmakta; örgütsel adalet algısı düştükçe doğal davranışları da azalmaktadır.

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the concepts of emotional labor, professional competence perception and job seeking behavior, which are accepted as three different variables, and to try to determine the role of job seeking behavior in this network of relationships. In this quantitative research, the answers collected from a total of 207 participants were analyzed with the SPSS 22 program. Pearson correlation and Process V4.0 by f. Hayes analyzes were performed. As a result, it has been determined that there is a positive and moderate relationship between emotional labor and perception of professional competence, and it assumes a moderator role in the relationship between job seeking behavior, emotional labor and perception of professional competence. Bu çalışma duygusal emek ve duygusal emek boyutları (yüzeysel davranış, derinlemesine davranış ve samimi davranış) ile iş stresi ve iş stresinin boyutları (endişe ve zaman stresi) arasındaki ilişkileri incelemek amacıyla İstanbul’da bir ilçe belediyesinde çalışan 347 beyaz yakalı iş gören üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama yöntemi olan anket tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler SPSS programında nicel analiz yöntemleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre duygusal emek ile iş stresi arasında pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra, duygusal emeğin boyutlarından olan yüzeysel davranış ile iş stresi ve iş stresi boyutları olan endişe stresi ve zaman stresi arasında anlamlı ve pozitif ilişki olduğu fakat duygusal emek boyutu olan derinlemesine davranış ve samimi davranış ile iş stresi ve iş stresi boyutları olan endişe stresi ve zaman stresi arasında anlamlı ilişkiler olmadığı gözlemlenmiştir.

This study aims at questioning the working conditions of call center employees and the transformations in these working conditions by focusing on the concept of emotional labor. For this purpose, semi-structured in-depth interviews and focus group interviews were conducted with a total of 24 call center employees and 2 union employees working in different business lines such as telecommunications, e-commerce and banking in the private and public sectors. In the study, which was carried out based on field research, it was determined that the intense emotional and affective labor processes of call center employees cause negative results such as emotional incompatibility, stress, tension, insomnia and depression in employees. In the call center industry, which relies on direct human communication, customers can insult and harass employees in various ways. Employees are expected to hide their emotions or to display standardized reactions determined by the company in the face of such situations through in-service training and computerized control. This situation both forces employees to work in an insecure working environment and deepens the psychological pressure felt by the employees. In addition, in the research, it was determined that the service production of call center employees with standardized and mechanized communication forms caused the employees to become alienated from both their work, their labor and human communication, and to turn into emotionless robots. For this reason, it is possible to say that the fact that service production in call centers is based on mental labor does not prevent employees from worsening working conditions and experiencing physical, social and mental exhaustion.
