Objective: The Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) first appeared in December 2019 and spread to many countries in a short time. Thus, it has been decided to limit dental visits only to emergency dental practices (EDA), and to postpone non-emergency and non-compulsory dental practices to a later date. In this survey study; our aim is to determine the level of knowledge of dentistry students about EDA and to contribute to the literature by determining the adequacy of dental education in this field.Subjects and Methods: The questionnaire that was prepared using Google Forms was sent to dental students in Turkey by WhatsApp, email, and private social platforms. First part of the questionnaire included basic questions that provide demographic data and the questions about EDA in the second part.Results: A total of 1452 dentistry students, 558 males and 894 females, with a mean age of 38 ± 21.15, participated in the survey study. Fibrous dysplasia is a rare benign bone tumor. It has the potential to demonstrate malignant transformation. Fibrous dysplasia occurs when normal bone tissue is replaced by fibrous tissue. The most common locations in the maxillofacial region are the maxilla and mandible. Fibrous dysplasia is divided into monostotic and polyostotic forms. If involvement is observed in more than one bone, it is called polyostotic fibrous dysplasia, if involvement is observed in a single bone, it is called monostotic fibrous dysplasia. Monostotic type fibrous dysplasia accounts for 75% of cases. There are many syndromes in which polyostotic fibrous dysplasia is seen. The best known of these are McCune Albright syndrome, Jaffe-Lichtenstein syndrome and Mazabraud syndrome.

Giant cell granulomas in the jaws are divided into two according to their location in the bone or soft tissue. Those that develop on the soft tissue basis are called peripheral type giant cell granulomas, while lesions that develop in the bone are called central type giant cell granulomas. Central giant cell granulomas are seen in both jaws, but are more common in the mandible. Although it is seen in both sexes, it is more common in women. Although etiology of central giant cell granuloma is not known exactly, it may be of neoplastic, traumatic and hormonal origin. Treatment options are surgical curettage and excision or medical treatments. In this case report, a case of aggressive central giant cell granuloma in the maxillary posterior region is discussed. The patient applied to our clinic with the complaint of swelling in the lesion area, and the mass was removed with general anesthesia.

Background: The purpose of this study is to determine the frequency, number, location and the orientation of the septa in the maxillary sinus by computed tomography. In addition, to evaluate the relationship of sinus septa with age, gender and type of dentition, which are patient related factors.Materials and Methods: This retrospective study was done by examining the images taken from patients who applied to Harran University Faculty of Dentistry between January 2017 and January 2020. Ethics committee approval was obtained from Harran University Clinical Research Ethics Committee with the decision numbered HRU / 20.09.08. The study was carried out by evaluating the computed tomography images of 500 head and neck regions. While examining the images, the parameters of the patient's age, gender and status of the dentition (full dentition, partial dentition, or edentulous) were recorded. Septas were classified as coronal, sagittal and transversal.Results: A total of 500 computed tomography images were examined. 446 of them were included in the study because they met the inclusion criteria. Thus, a total of 892 maxillary sinuses were examined. 198 (44.4%) of the patients examined were male and 248 (55.6%) were female. The average age of the patients was 33.4 years old, the youngest was 18 and the oldest was 79 years old. 248 patients (55.6%) were full dentition, 168 (37.7%) were partial dentition and 30 (6.7%) were edentulous. At least one septum was detected in 135 (30.2%) patients. 126 (93.3%) of these patients had only one septum, while 9 (6.7%) had more than one septum. A total of 146 septums were detected in the patients. No significant relation was found between the prevalence of maxillary sinus septa and the age (p = 0.415), gender (p = 0.443) and dentition type (p = 0.078) of the patients. A significant relation was found between the orientation and positions of the maxillary sinus septa (p = 0.017).Conclusion: As a result of this study, it was observed that approximately one third of the population had a maxillary sinus septa. Planning implant surgeries with three-dimensional images reduces the possible complications. It was also seen that three-dimensional images could change the planning based on two-dimensional images. However, it was evaluated that the results of these study need to be confirmed by more comprehensive studies., Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı; maksiller sinüste septa görülme sıklığını, septa sayısını, konumunu ve septanın maksiller sinüste yönelimini bilgisayarlı tomografi ile tespit etmektir. Ayrıca, sinus septasının hasta ile ilgili faktörleri olan yaş, cinsiyet ve dentisyon tipi ile ilişkisini değerlendirmektir.Materyal ve metod: Bu retrospektif çalışma Harran Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi hastanesine Ocak 2017-Ocak 2020 tarihleri arasında başvuran hastalardan alınmış görüntüler incelenerek yapıldı. Çalışmada etik kurul onayı Harran Üniversitesi Klinik Araştırmalar Etik Kurulu’dan HRU/20.09.08 sayılı kararı ile alınmıştır. Çalışma 500 adet baş boyun bölgesi bilgisayarlı tomografi görüntüsü değerlendirilerek gerçekleştirildi. Bunların 446 tanesi dahil edilme kriterlerine uyduğundan çalışmaya dahil edildi. Böylece toplam 892 tane maksiller sinüs incelendi. İncelenen hastaların 198'i (%44,4) erkek ve 248’i (%55,6) kadındı. Hastaların ortalama yaşı 33.4, en küçüğü 18, en büyüğü 79 yaşındaydı. Hastaların 248’i (%55,6) tam dişli, 168’i(%37,7) kısmi dişli ve 30’u (%6.7) tam dişsizdi. 135 (%30,2) hastada en az bir septum tespit edildi. Bu hastaların 126 'sında (%93,3) sadece bir septum görülürken, 9’unda (% 6.7) birden fazla septum görüldü. Hastalarda toplam 146 adet septum tespit edildi. Maksiller sinüs septası prevelansı ile hastaların yaşı (p = 0.415), cinsiyeti (p = 0.443) ve dentisyon tipi (p = 0.078) arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunamamıştır. Maksiller sinüs septasının yönelim ve konumları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur (p = 0.017).Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonucunda popülasyonun yaklaşık üçte birinde maksiler sinüs septası olduğu görüldü. Yapılacak implant cerrahilerinin üç boyutlu görüntülerle planlanması yaşanabilecek komplikasyonların azalmasını sağlamaktadır. Ayrıca üç boyutlu görüntülerin iki boyutlu görüntülere dayalı planlamaları değiştirebileceği görüldü. Ancak bu çalışma sonuçlarının yapılacak daha kapsamlı çalışmalarla doğrulanmasına ihtiyaç olduğu değerlendirildi.

In today’s information age, consumers spend most of their time on the internet. Consumers expanded their online shopping volumes and increased their demand for ready-to-wear products. In this respect, the students who are stud-ying at the university in practice; attitudes towards internet advertisements (GAI), information sharing (CIS), motivations (CM), information production (CIP) and purchasing decisions (CPD) were examined. In the previous studies, these variab-les were generally applied to different fields under different headings. In the study, these variables were examined as a whole. The results of the study; It is concluded that there is a negative and significant relationship between consumers’ attitudes towards internet advertisements and information sharing, and between informati-on sharing and purchasing decisions. The results showed that there is a positive and meaningful relationship between the attitudes and motivations of consumers towards internet advertisements, and their motivations and purchasing decisi-ons. Also, it was concluded that there was a negative and significant relationship between consumer attitudes towards advertising and information production, and between information production and purchasing decisions. With these results, it is aimed to gain new perspectives to the literature.

Giriş:Bu çalışmanın amacı, kardiyak konsültasyonesnasında tanı ve tedavi üzerinde ekokardiyografi sonuçları ile kardiyologtarafından gerçekleştirilen fizik muayene sonuçlarını karşılaştırmaktır.Hastalarve Yöntem: Kardiyak olmayan birimlerdenyatırılan ardışık seçilmemiş 265 hasta danışman kardiyolog tarafından tamkardiyovasküler muayene sonrası çalışmaya alındı. Fizik muayene sonrasıdanışman kardiyolog taşınabilir kardiyak ultrason kullanarak her hastayıgörüntülenmiştir. Tüm hastalar daha sonra bir üst platformda gerçekleştirilenstandart ekokardiyografik cihazla altın standart olarak değerlendirildi. Kesintanı, tedavi ve tanısal testlerdeki değişiklikler değerlendirildi.Bulgular:Bu hasta popülasyonunda standart ekokardiyografikcihazla 196 kardiyovasküler bulgu saptanmıştır. Fizik muayene tüm bulguların%41’ini ve taşınabilir ultrason ise %23’ünü tespit etmede başarısız olmuştur.Taşınabilir kardiyak ultrason cihazı 149 hastanın tedavi kararında etkiliolmuştur ve bunların %42’sinde tedavi değişirken %21’inde tanısal testlerdeğişmiştir (hastaların çoğunda ikisi de değişmiştir).Sonuç: Konsültasyonlar esnasında taşınabilirkardiyak ultrason ile değerlendirme önemli kardiyovasküler patolojilerintespitini sağlamaktadır. Ayrıca, rutin fizik muayeneye ek olarak deneyimlikardiyologlar tarafından taşınabilir cihazla yatak başı kardiyak fonksiyon veanatominin direkt değerlendirilmesi tedavi ve tanısal testlerde önemlideğişiklikler ile sonuçlanmaktadır., Introduction:The purpose of this study was to compare theresults of physical examinations (PEs) performed by a cardiologist with theresults of point-of-care echocardiography for the diagnosis and management ofpatients during cardiac consultation rounds.Patientsand Methods: In all, 265 hospitalized consecutive patientsfrom non-cardiac units (age, 62 ± 11; male, 56%) were included after completecardiovascular (CV) examination by a consulting cardiologist. After the PE, theconsulting cardiologist imaged each patient using a hand-carried cardiacultrasound (HCU). All patients subsequently underwent a study with a standardechocardiographic device (SED) as the gold standard, performed on an upper-endplatform. Definitive diagnosis, management change, and modifying diagnosticworkup were also assessed.Results:There were 196 CV findings detected with an SED inthis patient population. Of these, PE failed to detect 41% of the overall CVfindings and HCU missed 23% of the overall CV pathology. Overall, HCU had aneffect on patient treatment decisions in 149 patients (56%); 42% had a changein medical therapy and 21% had a change in their diagnostic workup (most withchanges in both).Conclusion: HCU echocardiographicassessment during consultation rounds improved the detection of significant CVpathology. Also, a direct assessment of cardiac function and anatomy at thebedside by an experienced cardiologist with HCU as a routine adjunct to PEresults in an important change in clinical management and diagnostic workupduring consultation.

Bisphosphonates are used to reduce skeletal-related events in patients with bone-consuming diseases, such as osteoporosis and bone metastases. Bisphosphonaterelated osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) is becoming increasingly common with increasing use of bisphosphonates. We present two cases of BRONJ in a 64-year-old female and a 56-year-old female who were admitted to our department with complaints of purulent discharge and pain of the lower jaw. Both patients had been taking bisphosphonate and were diagnosed with jaw osteonecrosis, which can occur due to long-term use of bisphosphonate. The patients underwent medical treatment, including chlorhexidine rinses and antibiotics. Bone debridement was then performed under local anaesthesia. Both patients recovered well. There are many protocols, guidelines and suggestions on the management of BRONJ. For most patients, a conservative approach with minimal local intervention, if necessary, is appropriate, with extensive debridement of necrotic bone when this fails. In a small number of cases, radical resection of bone and reconstruction may be required. Artan bifosfonat kullanımıyla birlikte çenelerde görülen bifosfonatla ilişkili osteonekrozda yaygınlaşmaktadır. Kliniğimize alt çenede püy akıntısı ve ağrı şikayeti ile başvuran 64 ve 56 yaşında iki bayan hastanın bifosfonat kullanımıyla ilişkili osteonekroz vakalarını sunuyoruz. Her iki vakada uzun dönem bifosfonat kullanımına bağlı osteonekroz teşhisi konuldu. Tıbbi ve cerrahi tedavi planlaması yapıldı. Hastalara Klorheksidin irrigasyonu ve antibiyotik reçete edildi. Daha sonra lokal anestezi altında kemik debridmanı yapıldı. Her iki hastada çok iyi iyileşme görüldü. Bifosfonatla ilgili osteonekroz tedavisi için önerilen çok sayıda protokol bulunmaktadır. Çoğu hastada konservatif bir yaklaşım olarak nekrotik kemiğin geniş debridmanı ve küçük lokal girişimler yeterlidir ancak çok az vakada bu girişimler başarısız olursa radikal olarak kemiği rezeke etmek gerekmektedir
