This paper underscores the significance of experiential learning, emphasising active engagement and practical application, particularly in the realm of online education. This research is focused on the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). The study employs a survey research design involving internal and external online facilitators. The research explores the perceptions, benefits, challenges, and potential strategies for integrating experiential learning into online facilitation. With a sample size of 276, data collection utilised a structured questionnaire, and analysis involved descriptive and inferential statistics. The study’s findings have practical implications, informing policy decisions, instructional design practices, and faculty development initiatives at NOUN, ultimately aiming to enhance the holistic and immersive learning experience for online learners. The conclusion emphasises the potential of integrating experiential learning to elevate the quality, effectiveness, and real-world preparedness of NOUN’s online programmes, fostering student engagement and critical thinking. Cyberethics is defined as an appropriate code of online conduct. Non-Cyberethical behaviors are those behaviors engaged in by individuals while online, including, but not limited to, online gambling, revenge pornography, and sexting. Literature documents females as generally being victims of these unethical cyber behaviors, caused by several reasons, but majorly by a lack of awareness. This study seeks to investigate the sources, and awareness of cyberethical behavior among female postgraduate students in universities in North Central Nigeria. The study employed quantitative methodology. All female postgraduate students in North Central Nigeria constituted the target population. Using multistage sampling technique, 989 respondents were selected from 15 universities. A survey instrument was administered, and findings revealed that female postgraduate students were generally lacking in awareness of appropriate cyberbehavior, probably due to the inadequacy of sources through which they could acquire correct knowledge. This study examined cyberethics awareness and implications on library and information science(LIS) educators in selected universities in South-west Nigeria. A quantitative method was adopted along with a descriptive survey design; while 35 LIS educators drew through total enumeration from two universities in South-west Nigeria to represent the sample for the study. A questionnaire adapted from the previously related validated scales was used for the data collection. The research questions were developed and answered. The findings revealed that the LIS educators were aware of cyberethical issues, and the awareness is also very high. The LIS educators regularly participated in training on cyber technology, internet policy issues, cyber security and cyberethics. The LIS educators were very familiar with various types of cyberethical issues including intellectual property, fair use, illegal downloads and wrong copies of files and text, respecting others' opinions, and privacy concerns in the cyber environment. Based on the findings, the study recommends that the deliberate adoption of cyberethics as a stand-alone distinct course that will be part of the curriculum of LIS should be encouraged to further enhance the awareness of students. The Covid-19 pandemic resulted in a global lockdown and the cessation of all academic activities on-site. Higher education in Nigeria was not exempt, as a paradigm shift was required for university officials to explore non-conventional teaching methods to prevent students from wasting time and to keep them intellectually engaged. During the pandemic, our research examines how a private institution in Ede, Osun State, Nigeria, utilised the social networking platform WhatsApp for Ph.D. student seminars. The study obtained data from ten doctoral students in the Department of Library and Information Science at Adeleke University via online interviews. The difficulties faced by the students and the benefits of utilising ICT were highlighted. Due to the constant insecurity and poor road network in Nig eria, as well as the risk of long-distance travel, especially for postgraduate students who are not always resident on campus, we recommend the continued use of E-learning platforms in Higher Education Institutions as a solution to reducing transportation costs. Operations and services provided by libraries are seen as social services with a responsibility to encourage society's reading habits, especially in academic settings. The educational, economic, cultural, and recreational life of the whole population are strongly impacted by library services. A special library is known to offer services like interlibrary loan, reference and information, current awareness, selective information dissemination, user education, literature searching, bibliography compilation, indexing and abstracting, knowledge management, preservation and conservation, bindery, information literacy, and information media literacy. The research focuses on the following goals: discovering the library services offered by research libraries in Kwara State; identifying the services that are highly demanded by research libraries in Kwara State; gauging user satisfaction with Kwara State research libraries; and identifying potential obstacles that might endanger library delivery services there. The study used a descriptive survey, and 73 researchers from a Kwara State agricultural research institution make up the sample. Findings of the study show that; users are satisfied with the facilities and equipment of research libraries in Kwara State; users are satisfied with the attitude of staff at research libraries in Kwara State; and quality service has a positive and significant impact on use. User education programmes, volumes of text books and reference books, and personalised assistance provided by the library staff are services available in the special library. This study examined how young Nigerian internet users view social media use and cyberethics. This study included all secondary school-aged female Nigerians from the six geopolitical zones. Thirty-six females aged 13-15, the generation's median age, were chosen from each zone and state. The tool for data collection was an open-ended survey. The results revealed that young women used multiple social media platforms. The characteristics of the various social media platforms which showed minimal text, short videos, and photo-editing filters showed that their peers heavily influenced their use of social media. This study also found that Generation Z females believed that large number of online followers implied a high sense of self-esteem and that any activities that increased followership was acceptable. They also underestimated online risks. Female Gen Z posted sexually suggestive videos online due to peer pressure and the need for peer acceptance, showing a lack of awareness of the consequences of such conduct. The study recommended that schools and all organisations put in place policies to ensure positive use of the Internet. Similarly, the study also recommended modifications of school curricula to include cyberethical awareness. Parenting techniques should also adequately teach societal awareness and the risks of exposing children to early exposure to the Internet. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study examined information professionals of the future and their prospects in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The study employed a mixed method, where quantitative data were analysed using a percentage and frequency table, while qualitative data were analysed thematically. Alumni from all Nigerian library schools constituted the target population. The study gathered data through a semi-structured questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to several platforms, including WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook. A total of 150 filled questionnaires were received from participants in Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. The findings show that participants were fully aware of the emergence of the 4IR. They indicated the impact of the 4IR era on the future job market as driverless cars, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), robot technology, metaverse, blockchain and soft skills. It is evident from the findings that these technologies have changed the landscape of all industries. Nigerian information professionals partially possess some 4IR skills, including active learning and learning strategies, and people management, and have good knowledge of skills required for current and future job markets. Challenges associated with the preparation of future information professionals are lack of motivation for trainers; lack of synergy between training schools and the industry; inadequate funding for training schools; lack of qualified personnel; and poor attitude by students to acquire new skills. The study concludes that poor preparation of future information professionals could result in job losses, economic disparities, unemployment, and underperformance in the workplace. The study recommends that training schools should develop a core curriculum for future information professionals that covers characteristics of the 4IR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper reviewed the concept of big data with reference to the University of Ilorin, North-Central, Nigeria. In the study that directed this paper, a descriptive design was employed and thematic analysis was done on the information obtained through key informant interviews. The population of this study consisted of the two systems librarians who work in the electronic library (elibrary) unit of the university library. The characteristics of big data, based on the V characteristics, were examined, as well as the various types of data sets found in academic libraries. The findings of the study revealed that while big data sets exist in libraries in Nigeria, none of the big data software was available in the library studied. The findings also revealed the various methods used by the University of Ilorin Library in generating big data. Also, the main challenges confronting the management of big data in the University of Ilorin Library include inadequate funding, insufficient infrastructure, and inadequate software tools for managing big data. The need to re-skill library practitioners in this new technology, as a means of surmounting challenges in service delivery in university libraries, was recommended. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
