Abstract: The Spin Physics Detector collaboration proposes to install a universal detector in the second interaction point of the NICA collider under construction (JINR, Dubna) to study the spin structure of the proton and deuteron and other spin-related phenomena using a unique possibility to operate with polarized proton and deuteron beams at a collision energy up to 27 GeV and a luminosity up to $10^{32}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$. As the main goal, the experiment aims to provide access to the gluon TMD PDFs in the proton and deuteron, as well as the gluon transversity distribution and tensor PDFs in the deuteron, via the measurement of specific single and double spin asymmetries using different complementary probes such as charmonia, open charm, and prompt photon production processes. Other polarized and unpolarized physics is possible, especially at the first stage of NICA operation with reduced luminosity and collision energy of the proton and ion beams. This document is dedicated exclusively to technical issues of the SPD setup construction.

Abstract: The Nuclotron-base Ion Collider fAcility (NICA) is under construction at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), with commissioning of the facility expected in late 2022. The Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD) has been designed to operate at NICA and its components are currently in production. The detector is expected to be ready for data taking with the first beams from NICA. This document provides an overview of the landscape of the investigation of the QCD phase diagram in the region of maximum baryonic density, where NICA and MPD will be able to provide significant and unique input. It also provides a detailed description of the MPD set-up, including its various subsystems as well as its support and computing infrastructures. 3. Collective phenomena in pp interactions with high multiplicity

Abstract: The latest results on the search for collective phenomena in pp interactions at the U-70 accelerator at IHEP (Protvino) are presented. This the long-term experiment has been carried out at the SVD-2 setup. We received the evidence of the pion (Bose-Einstein) condensate formation. Two noticeable peaks in the angular distribution of charged pions are interpreted as Cherenkov radiation of gluons by quarks. Abstract: The Spin Physics Detector, a universal facility for studying the nucleon spin structure and other spin-related phenomena with polarized proton and deuteron beams, is proposed to be placed in one of the two interaction points of the NICA collider that is under construction at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia). At the heart of the project there is huge experience with polarized beams at JINR. The main objective of the proposed experiment is the comprehensive study of the unpolarized and polarized gluon content of the nucleon. Spin measurements at the Spin Physics Detector at the NICA collider have bright perspectives to make a unique contribution and challenge our understanding of the spin structure of the nucleon. In this document the Conceptual Design of the Spin Physics Detector is presented.

Abstract: The most-remote from stability isotope $^{31}$K, which is located four atomic mass units beyond the proton drip line, has been observed. It is unbound in respect to three-proton (${3p}$) emission, and its decays have been detected in flight by measuring trajectories of all decay products using micro-strip detectors. The $3p$-emission processes have been studied by means of angular correlations $^{28}$S+3$p$ and the respective decay vertexes. The energies of the previously-unknown ground and excited states of $^{31}$K have been determined. This provides its $3p$ separation-energy value $S_{3p}$ of $-4.6(2)$ MeV. Upper half-life limits of 10 ps of the observed $^{31}$K states have been derived from distributions of the measured decay vertexes., Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures

Abstract: Prospects of experimental studies of argon and chlorine isotopes located far beyond the proton dripline are studied by using systematics and cluster models. The deviations from the widespread systematics observed in $^{28,29}$Cl and $^{29,30}$Ar have been theoretically substantiated, and analogous deviations predicted for the lighter chlorine and argon isotopes. The limits of nuclear structure existence are predicted for Ar and Cl isotopic chains, with $^{26}$Ar and $^{25}$Cl found to be the lightest sufficiently long-living nuclear systems. By simultaneous measurements of protons and $\gamma$-rays following decays of such systems as well as their $\beta$-delayed emission, an interesting synergy effect may be achieved, which is demonstrated by the example of $^{30}$Cl and $^{31}$Ar ground state studies. Abstract: The proton-unbound argon and chlorine isotopes have been studied by measuring trajectories of their decay-in-flight products by using a tracking technique with micro-strip detectors. The proton ($1p$) and two-proton ($2p$) emission processes have been detected in the measured angular correlations "heavy-fragment"+$p$ and "heavy-fragment"+$p$+$p$, respectively. The ground states of the previously unknown isotopes $^{30}$Cl and $^{28}$Cl have been observed for the first time, providing the $1p$-separation energies $S_p$ of $-0.48(2)$ and $-1.60(8)$ MeV, respectively. The relevant systematics of $1p$ and $2p$ separations energies have been studied theoretically in the core+$p$ and core+$p$+$p$ cluster models. The first-time observed excited states of $^{31}$Ar allow to infer the $2p$-separation energy $S_{2p}$ of 6(34) keV for its ground state. Abstract: Several states of proton-unbound isotopes $^{30}$Ar and $^{29}$Cl were investigated by measuring their in-flight decay products, $^{28}$S+proton+proton and $^{28}$S+proton, respectively. A refined analysis of $^{28}$S-proton angular correlations indicates that the ground state of $^{30}$Ar is located at $2.45^{+0.05}_{-0.10}$ MeV above the two-proton emission threshold. The theoretical investigation of the $^{30}$Ar ground state decay demonstrates that its mechanism has the transition dynamics with a surprisingly strong sensitivity of the correlation patterns of the decay products to the two-proton decay energy of the $^{30}$Ar ground state and the one-proton decay energy as well as the one-proton decay width of the $^{29}$Cl ground state. The comparison of the experimental $^{28}$S-proton angular correlations with those resulting from Monte Carlo simulations of the detector response illustrates that other observed $^{30}$Ar excited states decay by sequential emission of protons via intermediate resonances in $^{29}$Cl. Based on the findings, the decay schemes of the observed states in $^{30}$Ar and $^{29}$Cl were constructed. For calibration purposes and for checking the performance of the experimental setup, decays of the previously-known states of a two-proton emitter $^{19}$Mg were remeasured. Abstract: Multiplicity data up to 200 GeV in e+e- annihilation are described well by the two-stage model based on pQCD and suggested the phenomenological scheme of hadronization. This model confirms the fragmentation mechanism of hadronization (in vacuum). It allows to estimate mean multiplicity at 500 GeV and 1 TeV. Gluon dominance model is the modification of this model for the description of hadronic interactions. It was realised by an inclusion of gluons. It demonstrates very strong evidence of the recombination mechanism of hadronization. In this case, the mean multiplicity of hadrons formed from a single gluon grows with energy and it exceeds the corresponding values for lepton interactions. At the same time, the region of high multiplicity is stipulated for splitting of active gluons. Abstract: The beta decay of 31Ar, produced by fragmentation of a 36Ar beam at 880 MeV/nucleon, was investigated. Identified ions of 31Ar were stopped in a gaseous time projection chamber with optical readout allowing to record decay events with emission of protons. In addition to \b{eta}-delayed emission of one and two protons we have clearly observed the beta-delayed three-proton branch. Abstract: Results of long-term investigations of variation of cobalt beta decay rate from 28.12.2010 till 08.02.2012 are presented. The scintillation spectrometer with two LaBr3 detectors is used to register of gamma-quanta with energy 1.173 and 1.332 MeV accompanying cobalt beta decay. Counting rate of each detector and their gamma-quanta coincidence are collected in successive time intervals 10 s. The statistical Kolmogorov-Smirnov method for data analysis is used. Temperature influence on experimental results is also analyzed. Deviations of beta decay counting rate from constant distribution during the days were detected in those decades: from 11.03 to 21.03 with significance level a = 0.1; from 22.04 to 02.05 with a=0.0125; from 24.06 to 04.07 with a=0.05; from 04.08 to 14.08 with a=0.05., Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures

Abstract: We report the measurements of $\Sigma (1385)$ and $\Lambda (1520)$ production in $p+p$ and $Au+Au$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 200$ GeV from the STAR collaboration. The yields and the $p_{T}$ spectra are presented and discussed in terms of chemical and thermal freeze-out conditions and compared to model predictions. Thermal and microscopic models do not adequately describe the yields of all the resonances produced in central $Au+Au$ collisions. Our results indicate that there may be a time-span between chemical and thermal freeze-out during which elastic hadronic interactions occur., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, Phys. Rev. Abstract: Exclusive measurements of the production of eta mesons in the p+p->p+p+eta reaction have been carried out at excess energies of 16 and 37 MeV above threshold. The deviations from phase space are dominated by the proton-proton final state interaction and this influences particularly the energy distribution of the eta meson. However, evidence is also presented at the higher energy for the existence of an anisotropy in the angular distributions of the eta meson and also of the final proton-proton pair, probably to be associated with D-waves in this system interfering with the dominant S-wave term. Abstract: Multiparticle production is described in the language of quarks and gluons. In the experiment the real hadrons are registered. For transfer from quarks and gluons to observed hadrons, various phenomenological models are used. In order to describe the high multiplicity region, we have developed a gluon dominance model. It represents a convolution of two stages. First stage is described by QCD. For second one (hadronisation), the phenomenological model is used. The description of topological cross sections in p p ¯ $ \bar p $ collisions within of our model testifies that in hadron collisions the mechanism of hadronisation is being replaced by the recombination one. At that point, gluons play an active role in the multiparticle production process, and valence quarks are passive. They stay in the leading particles, and only the gluon splitting is responsible for the region of high multiplicity. The model with inclusion of intermediate quark charged topologies describes topological cross sections in annihilation. We observe the significant growth of a scaled variance of number of neutral pions with increasing of the total multiplicity at U-70 accelerator at IHEP (Protvino). The following experiment with 3.5 A GeV deuteron, lithium and carbon beams of the Nuclotron (JINR, Dubna) falling at a carbon target is carried out at the NIS-GIBS setup. The noticeable excess yield of soft photons(pT < 50 MeV/c) is observed. The existing models based on Monte Carlo simulation and theoretical estimations predict a lower yield. Our Collaboration plans to study excess of soft photon yield and other phenomena at the SPD (Spin Physics Detector) setup at JINR, Dubna with polarised beams of proton and light nuclei up to 25 GeV.

Abstract: Today in Ukraine, there is no single legalized, generally accepted methodology (at the level of a Ukrainian building standard) for dynamic certification of buildings and structures. A unified approach is proposed as such a technique. It includes four components: visual inspection of buildings; experimental studies of the dynamic response of buildings or structures to explosive effects; mathematical modeling of the stress-strain state of the object under study; synthesis of the results of visual inspection; experimental studies and numerical simulation in order to generalize them systematically. As an approbation, the deterioration of the resource of reinforced concrete structures of residential buildings under the conditions of constant mass industrial explosions with a capacity of 500 to 700 tons in the quarry of Southern GZK (Mining and Processing Plant) in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, has been studied. Based on the processing of numerous experimental data and the results of mathematical modeling, a probabilistic model for predicting the deterioration of the technical condition of reinforced concrete structures of the Center for Children and Youth Creativity “Mriya” has been obtained. Calculations of the risks of destruction of the building’s load-bearing elements for its vulnerable areas made it possible to clarify its service life. Abstract: We report first results on elliptic flow of identified particles at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[sNN] = 130 GeV using the STAR TPC at RHIC. The elliptic flow as a function of transverse momentum and centrality differs significantly for particles of different masses. This dependence can be accounted for in hydrodynamic models, indicating that the system created shows a behavior consistent with collective hydrodynamical flow. The fit to the data with a simple model gives information on the temperature and flow velocities at freeze-out.

Abstract: It is proposed to install an experimental setup in the fixed-target hall of the Nuclotron with the final goal to perform a research program focused on the production of strange matter in heavyion collisions at beam energies between 2 and 6 A GeV. The basic setup will comprise a large acceptance dipole magnet with inner tracking detector modules based on double-sided Silicon micro-strip sensors and GEMs. The outer tracking will be based on the drift chambers and straw tube detector. Particle identification will be based on the time-of-flight measurements. This setup will be sufficient perform a comprehensive study of strangeness production in heavy-ion collisions, including multi-strange hyperons, multi-strange hypernuclei, and exotic multi-strange heavy objects. These pioneering measurements would provide the first data on the production of these particles in heavy-ion collisions at Nuclotron beam energies, and would open an avenue to explore the third (strangeness) axis of the nuclear chart. The extension of the experimental program is related with the study of in-medium effects for vector mesons decaying in hadronic modes. The studies of the NN and NA reactions for the reference is assumed.
