Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, copes with the normal stresses of life, works productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community. Mental health problems among children and adolescents have been increasing over the past decades especially as a consequence of COVID-19 Pandemic. This underlines the urgent need for early intervention, with schools providing a unique opportunity for the promotion of mental health of students. This poster presents the goals, the methodology and the results of PROMEHS, a European project aimed to develop an evidence-based curriculum to promote mental health at school. PROMEHS has been implemented in six European Countries (Croatia, Italy, Greece, Latvia, Romania and Portugal) involving more than 10000 students and their teachers, using the training study methodology. The research design includes the collection of pre- and post-test data among students and their teachers from kindergarten to secondary school. Comparisons between the experimental group and the control group over time have been carried out in order to assess the impact of the PROMEHS curriculum on a number of outcomes including social and emotional learning, resilience and mental health problems. The findings will serve to improve national and international educational policies in the Member States working collaboratively with public authorities.

Residual biomass typically includes lignocellulosic materials generated by the agricultural, forest, and agro-industrial sectors. It has been estimated that only in Italy approximately 22 million tons of residual biomass are produced per year. The sustainable use of lignocellulosic biomass and the development of low-emission generation technologies such as micro and small-scale combined heat and power (CHP) systems can be highly advantageous to achieve a rapid transition towards decarbonization of the electricity sector. The choice of the CHP system highly depends on the availability and chemical-physical characteristics of the type of biomass used as fuel. Bioenergy is one of the most important renewable energy sources for electricity, heat and biofuels. Solid biomass in form of woodchip is widespread but woodchip quality variability is a concern. The quality monitoring is difficult due to the complexity of standard analysis being slow, destructive and expensive and requiring skilled operators. Moreover, some information, like the origin and source of the biofuels, is difficult to be measured. The aim of this study is the development of innovative models based on NIRS and multivariate data analysis starting from 150 samples collected from an important biomass power plant for the prediction of ash and moisture contents. Different preprocessing techniques were employed to remove physical phenomena before performing multivariate data analysis. The results highlight the possibility to exploit the moisture content model for screening application in quality control process of the solid biofuels, while the ash content model can be used for the discrimination of the material between high or low-quality classes, so for rough applications. La biotecnologia ambiental recurre a organismos capaces de reducir los niveles de metales pesados, entre ellos el Cr(VI), contenido en residuos y efluentes agroindustriales. El objetivo del trabajo fue estudiar la biorremediacion de un residuo como pulpa de limon contaminada con Cr(VI) y el efecto del metal sobre el crecimiento fungico. Se utilizaron tres hongos filamentosos como Aspergillus niger; Penicillium expansum y P. islandicum para remediar pulpa de limon (residuo) contaminada con Cr(VI) (50 mg/L) que se realizo en las siguientes condiciones de cultivo: la pulpa se suplemento con urea, 0,006; (NH4) 2SO4 , 0,012; KH2PO4 ,0,003 y KCl, 0,001 g/ g; 105 conidios/ g, a pH 2,5, 30°C y 96 h de incubacion. Se estudio el efecto toxico de diferentes concentraciones (5; 10; 20 y 50 mg/L) del metal sobre el desarrollo del hongo de mayor eficiencia de remediacion (Ef.%). Aspergillus niger; obtuvo mayor EF. de remediacion (97%) respecto a Penicillium expansum (95%) y P. islandicum (94%), del residuo contaminado con 50 mg/L de Cr(VI). Se determino que la presencia de Cr(VI) y no su concentracion estimulo la maduracion temprana (48 h) de los conidios (blancos a negros) de A. niger, sin que se observe alteraciones en el micelio con respecto al control (72h), desarrollado en la pulpa sin el metal. En conclusion, A. niger fue mas resistente y presento altas Ef. de remediacion de Cr(VI) de residuos solidos, este proceso es una alternativa a las tecnologias fisico-quimicas, debido que los microorganismos pueden remover selectivamente diferentes iones de zonas contaminadas.

Our study is based on a group of patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome of varying degree to which the diagnostic polysomnographic examination was completed by: pharingoscopy flexible and rigid and computed tomography to assess how changes in oral and Realistic hypopharingyeal involved in the development SAOS. During the study measurements were made of transverse sectional area and volume of respiratory track and three-dimensional reconstruction, with development of multiplane images which provide information on soft tissue. Size was studied respiratory track structures (tongue, soft palate, throat fat pad) in patients with SAOS. CT imaging studies showed differences in the structures of the soft palate in patients with SAOS. In fact, these studies showed an increase in transverse sectional area and volume of tongue soft palate, parapharyngeal fat support, lateral pharyngeal wall in patients with sleep apnea.
