Abstract

Les réseaux de canaux de paiement (Payment Channel Networks-PCN) améliorent l'impact des crypto-monnaies en fournissant une solution rapide et sans consensus. Cependant, les PCN s'appuient souvent sur des noeuds puissants avec une haute disponibilité, une grande capacité de stockage et une forte puissance de calcul, ce qui entrave leur adoption dans les environnements mobiles. Dans cet article, nous considérons une architecture PCN qui étend les fonctionnalités des PCN traditionnels aux dispositifs sans fil à ressources limitées. Nous abordons le problème du vol de jetons, une vulnérabilité critique des PCN sans fil, et proposons une contre-mesure basée sur des fenêtres temporelles réduites qui verrouillent les jetons lorsqu'un utilisateur se déconnecte. Nous évaluons notre proposition en utilisant des données réelles du PCN Lightning de Bitcoin et des réseaux mobiles 3G/4G. Les résultats montrent que la contre-mesure est plus efficace lorsque les appareils présentent une haute disponibilité et qu'il existe un compromis sécurité-efficacité lorsque la connectivité des dispositifs est faible.

Abstract

A novel approach in conducting high-speed satellite communications was developed in an attempt to provide an efficient method of carrying out point-to-multipoint data transmission procedures. The proposed paradigm, patterned after the point-to-point Extended Selective Rejection + Rejection protocol, generates the minimum number of acknowledgement messages and control variables, thereby limiting processing overhead and implementation complexity. Under high-error rate channel conditions, the technique has been proven to discard the effects of round-trip delays.

Abstract

Current quality source-adaptive schemes for multicast multilayered video rely on merging capabilities at special nodes in the network as a means of combining feedback from the whole set of receivers. These strategies reduce network load and avoid feedback implosion at the source. In this paper, we examine how to provide optimal feedback for such schemes. The optimal feedback is achieved when state information from the whole set of receivers is represented in every incoming feedback packet at the source. We show that the choice of a suitable merging time window in the intermediate nodes coupled with a periodical transmission of feedback packets by the receivers leads to near-optimal feedback. Abstract

This paper analyzes mobile agent performance in network management, comparing it with the client-server model used by the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). Response time results show that the mobile agent performs better than the SNMP when the number of managed elements ranges between two limits determined by the number of messages that pass through a backbone and by the mobile agent size that grows with the variables collected on the network elements.
