This study investigates local expert perceptions of the role of environmental factors, especially in terms of contemporary climate change, in population movements from Bangladesh to India. The aim is to delve into locally held understandings of the phenomenon and to gain a better understanding of these migration processes, which are actively intertwined with local experiences. Both Indian and Bangladeshi experts were interviewed using semi-structured, in-depth interviews in order to explore insights from locally held perceptions and understandings of contextual factors. In total, 10 Bangladeshi and 15 Indian experts were interviewed, covering different disciplines, sectors, regions and job types, together providing a more complete and grounded picture of views of environmentally induced migration in Bangladesh and India. The results show that climate change is perceived by local experts as one of the key factors influencing migration in Bangladesh, both internally and externally. The interviewees, however, placed environmentally induced migration in a broader context of labour and economic migration. In particular, migration for environmental reasons in Bangladesh was evident long before the emergence of climate change as an issue. According to the interviewed experts, this does not preclude increased environmentally induced migration within and from Bangladesh in the future, but its analyses ought to be placed in historical and economical contexts.

The main aim of the contribution is to analyze household adaptation to climate extreme impacts, especially floods. We selected Bečva river basin located in the norht-east part of the Czech Republic as the case study region. We analyze ways of adaptations and key drivers of adaptation.

This dissertation thesis deals with two key research topics. The first is perception of environmental change and its negative impacts on human property, infrastructure and even human lives. Specifically, we research the whole scale of extreme weather events, framed as hydrometeorological or climate extremes. The second part of dissertation focus on societal adaptation to these impacts. Both topics are researched on household level with regard to regional conditions. Empirical part of the research was realized within Bečva river basin in order to find out the state of adaptation on regional and household level. Within environmental sociology research, we connected with 605 household representatives from 22 municipalities and 25 key stakeholders from target area. The aim of the dissertation was to introduce actual scientific evidence about perception of environmental change, with focus on climate extremes and ways of societal adaptation.

Using unique data collected from October to December 2012, we estimate the link between commuting to and from work and the level of household exposure to floods. The result suggests an empirical puzzle - individuals affected by only one flood are roughly 10% more likely to engage in the commuting activity, whereas households affected by two floods are 13% less likely to do so. We check the robustness of this result by operationalizing the past exposure to floods with variables that describe the geographical location of the house and its characteristics. We explain the puzzle by the fact that individuals commute to work in order to accumulate resources to decrease the household's vulnerability to flood risk, amongst other reasons. When the flood risk is high, some households out-migrate, and stayers commute less, probably, for similar reasons as why they stay. Further, we find evidence in support of the "network effect" hypothesis - an individual with an active commuter in the household is by 47% more likely to commence commuting. We also find that flood affected commuters travel shorter distance for work.

Text se zabývá možnostmi zpracování tématu globální změny klimatu ve výuce na úrovni středního školství. v první části se zaměřuje na téma globální změny klimatu a jeho využití v environmentální výchově. Představuje zde koncept "social amplification" a jakým způsobem souvisí s percepcí a interpretací environmentálních témat. Další část obsahuje návrh pracovní metodiky pro hodnocení a analýzu různorodých informačních zdrojů pro potřeby výuky. Využívá několik hodnotících kritérií, například hodnotící škálu alarmistický - skeptický. Nakonec představuje praktickou aplikaci metodiky analýzy na příkladě několika informačních pramenů. Obsahuje také dvě přílohy - didaktickou analýzu učebnice „Environmentální výchova“ a ukázku výukové jednotky „Planeta Země: seznamte se“., The work deals with "global climate change" and methods how to work it up in the process of education. This topic is suitable for using in cross-disciplinary theme Environmental education. The aim of the work is to show its interdisciplinary character and diffusing through various educational themes.The first part of the paper describes the key terms and introduces the concept of social amplification. Then the paper analyzes various resources and its usefulness for education with using concept of social amplification for alarmistic - skeptical scale of interpretation information about global climate change. Another part creates work version of quick analysis of information sources for using in education. Work ends up with recommendation for practical using in education. Moreover, appendix includes didactic analysis of textbook "Environmental Education" and draft of educational unions concerning to topic global climate change "Planet Earth: Introduction".

This bachelor's thesis analyses the phenomenon of recycling waste from the culturological perspective, but not from the ecological, technological or logistical point of view. Pivotal element of the whole work is a conception of culture. Culture in this thesis is understands and uses as abiotic system of adaption of our society to the environment. The main topic of the whole study is the attitude, and position of the level of environmental consciousness in our society. This study - with a help of multidisciplinary analysis - looks for an answer whether rise and popularization of contemporary waste sorting can be considered as an indicator of cultural change, respectively to move the society towards pro- environmental consciousness. A key part of the thesis is a case study evaluating the influence social and demographic impacts on the level and manifestations of environmental consciousness. This study is based on a comparison of the level of mentioned kind of consciousness between the city inhabitants and village locations.
