The article discusses the case of a patient with severe trismus leading to the diagnosis of vacuoles, E1 enzyme, X-linked, autoinflammatory, somatic (VEXAS) syndrome. Topics discussed include magnetic resonance imaging revealing inflammation of masticatory muscles, the mutation in exon 3 of the UBA 1 gene, and the resolution of clinical symptoms following corticosteroid therapy with prednisone.
