The paper deals with agricultural and food companies which operated on the territory of Vojvodina in 2019. The study analyzed the risk of bankruptcy measured by the Altman?s Z-score method, as well as the profitability and productivity of the observed companies. The aim of the study was to use a multiple regression model to determine the impact of profitability and productivity on the risk of bankruptcy for agricultural and food companies of different sizes (including micro, small, medium and large companies) as well as to compare the results for these two sectors. The comparison of agricultural and food sectors was made according to the size of the companies. The obtained results indicated that profitability has a statistically significant positive impact on the risk of bankruptcy for micro and large agricultural companies, while for small agricultural companies, the risk of bankruptcy is statistically significant and positively affected by productivity. The risk of bankruptcy for medium-sized agricultural companies is not affected by the examined indicators. In addition, regression analysis indicated that the risk of bankruptcy for micro and small food companies has a statistically significant positive impact on profitability. In contrast, for medium and large food companies, the risk of bankruptcy is not affected by the observed variables.

Cancer and COVID-19 are both well-established risk factors predisposing to thrombosis. Both disease entities are correlated with increased incidence of venous thrombotic events through multifaceted pathogenic mechanisms involving the interaction of cancer cells or SARS-CoV2 on the one hand and the coagulation system and endothelial cells on the other hand. Thromboprophylaxis is recommended for hospitalized patients with active cancer and high-risk outpatients with cancer receiving anticancer treatment. Universal thromboprophylaxis with a high prophylactic dose of low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) or therapeutic dose in select patients, is currentlyindicated for hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Also, prophylactic anticoagulation is recommended for outpatients with COVID-19 at high risk for thrombosis or disease worsening. However, whether there is an additive risk of thrombosis when a patient with cancer is infected with SARS-CoV2 remains unclear In the current review, we summarize and critically discuss the literature regarding the epidemiology of thrombotic events in patients with cancer and concomitant COVID-19, the thrombotic risk assessment, and the recommendations on thromboprophylaxis for this subgroup of patients. Current data do not support an additive thrombotic risk for patients with cancer and COVID-19. Of note, patients with cancer have less access to intensive care unit care, a setting associated with high thrombotic risk. Based on current evidence, patients with cancer and COVID-19 should be assessed with well-established risk assessment models for medically ill patients and receive thromboprophylaxis, preferentially with LMWH, according to existing recommendations. Prospective trials on well-characterized populations do not exist.

Assessment of life cycle cost is considered as an important instrument for designing and evaluating success of every project. The aim of this work is to determine the precise impact of the investment costs and future operating and maintenance costs of CHP biomass plant. By using the Monte Carlo simulation are determined variations in the settings and the possible impact on the investment risk. The results show that the investment is justified, thanks to the positive outcome of the net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR) and the payback period. The greatest impact on the variability of annual profits have operating costs, which have the highest coefficient of variation of 6.44% and the largest share. Variability of net present value of 4% is acceptable, and the investment is considered as stable.

Besides the conquasant fractures, open humeral shafft fractures belong to the group of the most severe fractures. They most frequently occur as a result of traffic accidents or fall from heights caused by the influence of a strong direct force. They are very frequent in polytrauma patients.The study presents the treatment of a heavily injury man (37-year-old) with open humeral shaft fracture and pelvic fracture caused by fall from height, as well as the treatment results of such heavy injuries. External skeletal fixation of humeral shaft fracture and surgical treatment of wounds are performed after short reanimation and diagnostic procedures. Control radiographies of the humeral shaft fracture showed satisfactory reposition. Pelvic fracture have been treated nonoperatively with bed rest and analgesic medications.Primary surgical treatment of wounds, external fixation, leaving the wounds open and performing necessary debridements and adequate drug therapy are essential in achieving good results in patients with open humeral shaft fractures.

Wine production in Serbia has a long tradition. Serbia has great potentials for the production of grape and wine, but they are at a low level of utilization. Grape production in Serbia takes place on only 25,000 ha with an average annual production of 285,571 t of grapes with variations according to year. The vineyards and wine production are in a significant decline, while the main bearers of production are small family households or individual producers. The research presented in this paper is the economic characteristics of grapes production in the region of South Banat, Vrsac wine-growing region, which occupies 81.2% of the total vineyard area in this part of AP Vojvodina.

Only two years after the great expansion of "AGROZIV" company, it was evident that mycotoxins have great impact on all segments of poultry production. During that year we were for the first time faced up with problems in poultry fattening. It was not possible to explain the present problems only by bacterial and viral infections, so we assumed that there is another reason for the observed clinical picture. From that time we started to pay more attention on contamination of poultry feed with mycotoxins. In the four years' period, from 1988 to 2002, 57 samples were analyzed for the presence of mycotoxins. Mycotoxicological investigations revealed the presence of T-2 toxin in 19 samples at concentrations less than 0.3 mg/kg, in 18 samples at concentration of 0.5 mg/kg, and in 3 samples 1.0 mg/kg. Beside this, type A trichotecene DAS was found in 6 of tested samples, and ochratoxin A and in 1 sample. Clinical picture and damages varied depending on mycotoxins' concentrations and poultry age. To exceede this problem in animal production we tried to use the organic and anorganic mycotoxin adsorbents as additives of poultry feed, but the results were not satisfactory enough. So, we resumed that if we really want to resolve problem of mycotoxins we have to start from the field production of poultry feed components.

Authors are discussing dilemma about necessary diagnostic procedure in making decision for surgical treatment of the carotid disease. Attitudes are changing and the old opinion of the necessity for angiogram of extra cranial blood vessels is substituted by the opinion that CDS (Color Duplex Scan) is satisfactory in the majority of cases to indicate of the surgical treatment. Comparing the invasive and noninvasive diagnostic?s with operative findings, authors empirically confirm the given hypotheses, looking back to the cases where angiogram is necessary. The following issues were discussed: Estimate of the locaton of maximal shrinking, degree of shrinking, length of shrinking and characteristics of plaque as the most important parameters for indication and operative tactics. Diagnostics with CDS is shown as reliable with high degree of matching with operative findings.

The avarone/avarol quinone/hydroquinone couple shows considerable antitumor activity. In this work, covalent modification of ?-lactoglobulin by avarone and its derivatives as well as by the synthetic steroidal quinone 2,5(10)-estradiene- 1,4,17-trione and its derivatives were studied. The techniques for studying chemical modification of ?-lactoglobulin by quinones were: UV/Vis spectrophotometry, SDS PAGE and isoelectrofocusing. SDS PAGE results suggest that polymerization of the protein occurs. It could be seen that the protein of 18 kD gives the bands of 20 kD, 36 kD, 40 kD, 45 kD, 64 kD and 128 kD depending on modification agent. The shift of the pI of the protein (5.4) upon modification toward lower values (from pI 5.0 to 5.3) indicated that lysine amino groups are the principal site of the reaction of ?-lactoglobulin with the quinones.

Summary Application of fly ash in the construction industry is particularly significant in the terms of environmental protection and in the terms of improvement opportunities of certain properties of cement mortar and concrete. In addition to this, it is possible to perform the recultivation of significant area of agricultural land. Concrete production precedes the production of lightweight aggregate which is then used as an aggregate. Calculated costs of concrete production using lightweight aggregate were 70.52 €/m 3 . Most of these costs are energy costs in the sum of 85% of total costs. In the situation when the costs of concrete production using lightweight aggregate are compared to the concrete price at the market, or produced with the use of construction gravel, estimation of the economic viability gives a negative result. This result is caused by the high cost of the aggregate. The observed calculation did not include an improved thermal-insulating property of concrete and reduce pollution through binding of waste ash. According to this, final assessment can only be made after extensive technological, macroeconomic and environmental analysis. Economic analysis should be primarily based on the value of land that can be recultivation in this way.

Greedy routing can be used in mobile ad-hoc networks as geographic routing protocol. This paper proposes to use greedy routing also in overlay networks by positioning overlay nodes into a multi-dimensional Euclidean space. Greedy routing can only be applied when a routing decision makes progress towards the final destination. Our proposed overlay network is built such that there will be always progress at each forwarding node. This is achieved by constructing at each node a so-called nearest neighbor convex set (NNCS). NNCSs can be used for various applications such as multicast routing, service discovery and Quality-of-Service routing. NNCS has been compared with Pastry, another topology-aware overlay network. NNCS has superior relative path stretches indicating the optimality of a path.

During the production of steel by a converter process, a slag is produced and stored at slag depots, thus causing serious difficulties through pollution and space requirements. A converter slag is a compact and abrasive raw material containing CaO and Fe. The investigations showed that a multi—stage crushing, classifying and magnetic separation operations influence successful steel recovering from slag, while slag itself is converted into a high—grade fluxing agent which can be used in production of sinter and raw iron. Also, positive economic effects are achieved through a partial substitution of more expensive limestone and a full substitution of Mn—ore and dolomite.

We propose NetICE9, a novel landmark-less method for embedding RTTs into virtual spaces. NetICE9 is inspired by VIVALDI, the most commonly used landmark-less approach. VIVALDI chooses its neighbors randomly and optimizes only towards one neighbor at a time. With NetICE9, we propose a solution to those drawbacks. NetICE9 significantly improves both the stability of the simulation and the precision of how RTTs are embedded into a virtual space. Our evaluation based on RTTs measured in the Internet show that NetICE9 significantly outperforms VIVALDI in terms of stability and precision of RTT prediction. NetICE9 improves RTT prediction also in comparison to GNP.

This paper describes how quality of service (QoS) enabled overlay multicast architectures using peer-to-peer (P2P) networks can enhance the experience of end-users in networked virtual environments (NVE). We show how IP multicast, which offers an easy to use API for implementing NVE but is not widely deployed, can be made available to end-users by bridging it transparently with P2P networks. We describe how different P2P and application level multicast (ALM) architectures can be extended with QoS mechanisms using our proposed OM-QoS (overlay multicast QoS) architecture. The presented approach allows users to experience QoS for NVE such as group-based multimedia broadcasting and distributed multiplayer games.

Despite the availability of high bandwidth Internet access for end-users, video broadcasting over the Internet is not widely spread. Multicast communication decreases the network load by eliminating redundancy of the data transfer. However IP multicast was never widely accepted by commercial Internet service providers (ISP). Existing solutions solving this problem, like MBONE tunneling, are not available for end-users accessing the Internet via xDSL or TV cable. Application layer multicast using peer-to-peer (P2P) overlay networks could solve the problem of sparse IP multicast support in the Internet. A limitation of this approach is the lack of standardized interfaces for existing IP multicast applications. We propose a solution, which bridges application layer multicast and IP multicast and uses a P2P (overlay) network to transport multicast data. Our solution - including a "proof-of-concept" prototype - enables video broadcasting over the Internet using existing IP multicast applications without requiring additional service deployment.

The MO study showed that the radical oxidation of phenols into quinols occurs readily. Further radical oxidation (in the m-CPBA/(BzO)2/hv system) of quinols occurs through appropriate biradical species with an activation energy of 79.5 kJ/mol yielding syn-epoxyquinols. The stereochemical outcome presented in this study is in full agreement with the experimental results.
