Abstract

Radiation with a wavelength of ~4 µm was used for quasi-collinear excitation of the Fe:ZnSe laser. The highest output energy was achieved at the optimal crystal temperature of 230 K with the generated radiation wavelength of ~4.5 µm.

Abstract

The article discusses the possibilities of using the integrated Word and Matlab environment for training students of the physics and mathematical profile of computing methods. This discipline plays an important role in the training of specialists in higher education in physics and mathematics, since it combines mathematical theory of methods, the study of which requires fundamental mathematical knowledge and knowledge of the basics of programming and special mathematical packages. The principles of creation, editing of the integrated environment (M-books), methods of executing Matlab commands in the created environment are considered. As a result, text documents are created directly in the word processor Word, through which complex scientific and technical calculations are carried out. The Word and Matlab integrated environment is a client-server system in which Word is a client, while Matlab is a server. In this paper it is proposed to use two types of M-books for studying numerical methods, namely: for viewing and performing laboratory works. The structure of such M-books is proposed. The structure of M-books for the study and execution of laboratory works is developed. In the paper, the M-books of simple iteration and Newton's methods for the approximate solving of a nonlinear equation with one variable are presented, as well as the M-book studying quadrature formulas of central rectangles and trapezoids. The examples of these M-books show the benefits of using the integrated Word and Matlab environment for teaching computing methods, namely, in a text document, along with mathematical numerical-theory theory, there are Matlab commands for implementing the method. This allows the student, after completing each step of the algorithm, to analyze the results obtained.

Abstract

The model of spatial-temporal distribution of point defects in a three-layer stressed nanoheterosystem GaAs/In$_x$Ga$_{1 - x}$As/GaAs considering the self-assembled deformation-diffusion interaction is constructed. Within the framework of this model, the profile of spatial-temporal distribution of vacancies (interstitial atoms) in the stressed nanoheterosystem GaAs/In$_x$Ga$_{1 - x}$As/GaAs is calculated. It is shown that in the case of a stationary state ($t > 5\tau _d^{(2)}$), the concentration of vacancies in the inhomogeneously compressed interlayer is smaller relative to the initial average value $N_{d0}^{(2)}$ by 16%, Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures

Abstract

The rare decay K0(L) --> pi0 pi0 nu nu-bar was studied with the E391a detector at the KEK 12-GeV proton synchrotron. Based on 9.4 x 10^9 K0L decays, an upper limit of 8.1 x 10^{-7} was obtained for the branching fraction at 90% confidence level. We also set a limit on the K0(L) --> pi0 pi0 X (X --> invisible particles) process; the limit on the branching fraction varied from 7.0 x 10^{-7} to 4.0 x 10^{-5} for the mass of X ranging from 50 MeV/c^2 to 200 MeV/c^2., Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures

Abstract

We performed a search for the decay $K_L^0 \rightarrow 3\gamma$ with the E391a detector at KEK. In the data accumulated in 2005, no event was observed in the signal region. Based on the assumption of $K_L^0 \rightarrow 3\gamma$ proceeding via parity-violation, we obtained the single event sensitivity to be $(3.23\pm0.14)\times10^{-8}$, and set an upper limit on the branching ratio to be $7.4\times10^{-8}$ at the 90% confidence level. This is a factor of 3.2 improvement compared to the previous results. The results of $K_L^0 \rightarrow 3\gamma$ proceeding via parity-conservation were also presented in this paper.

Abstract

We performed a search for a light pseudoscalar particle $X$ in the decay $K_L^0->pi0pi0X$, $X->\gamma\gamma$ with the E391a detector at KEK. Such a particle with a mass of 214.3 MeV/$c^2$ was suggested by the HyperCP experiment. We found no evidence for $X$ and set an upper limit on the product branching ratio for $K_L^0->pi0pi0X$, $X->\gamma\gamma$ of $2.4 \times 10^{-7}$ at the 90% confidence level. Upper limits on the branching ratios in the mass region of $X$ from 194.3 to 219.3 MeV/$c^2$ are also presented., Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures

Abstract

The absorption cross-section of Cr2+ ions in a range of cubic Zn1–xMnxSe (x = 0–0.3) solid solutions was determined using nonlinear transmission measurements.
