Intraabdomınal lymphangioma is a rare disease. Pancreatic counterpart occurs as cystic mass and should be kept in mind in patients with cystic pancreatic lesions. It is important to diagnose preoperatively to choose therapy modality. In this paper, we present a rare case of pancreatic lymphangioma which was diagnosed incidentally. © 2019 by The Medical Bulletin of University.

Objective(s): Helicobacter pylori are gastric infectious agents that colonizes majority of the world's population. Genetic diversity among the virulence factors of bacterium like cytotoxin associated gene Pathogenicity Island (cagPAI) and vacuolating cytotoxinA (vacA) could have a modifying result on the pathogenic potential of the infecting strain. This study aimed to analyse which genes can be recommended as doubtless related virulence factors for H. pylori associated active chronic gastritis and stomach adenocarcinoma in Iranian and Turkish population. Material and methods: We tend to targeted on some cag PAI components and vacA gene subtypes based on correlations shown in some previous studies. So as to realize our goal, formalin fixed Paraffin Embedded (FFPE) tissues obtained from Iranian and Turkish patients. The prevalence of the cagPAI and vacA genotypes were studied in H. pylori positive samples by using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique and specific primers. Results: From all of 320 patients, H. pylori were detected in 28.43% of patients. We tend to found that vacAs1, vacAm2 and cagA genes with mean prevalence of 82.41%, 71.42% and 69.23% were dominant in both of Iranian and Turkish patients. Conclusion: Finally in Turkish and Iranian population the genes that were studied, was homogeneous and there's no important variations in bacterial genetic and with the exception of H. pylori infection different factors like host genetic and nourishment play a crucial role within the formation of gastric cancer. However it's attainable that if statistical population will increase, the cagA gene association with cancer are going to be meaningful. © 2017, Scientific Publishers of India. All rights reserved. Eosinophilic Esophagitis is infiltration of esophagus mucosa by eosinophil leucocyte. It is rarely observed in children and the symptoms are similar to gastroesophageal reflux. This case, which was applied esophagus balloon dilatation in the pediatric surgery due to dysphagia and diagnosed eosinophilic esophagitis, was presented in order to attract attention to the approach to the child with dysphagia. Total IgE=834 IU/mL and specific IgE (-), Fx5 (-) was found negative. In the upper GIS endoscopy, it was observed that esophagus mucosa was pale, its structure was hard and its motility was disordered and a couple milimetric white lesions were observed as well. In the esophagus biopsy materials, it was observed that the eosinophil infiltration in the mucosa was 60%. With the diagnosis of Eosinophilic Esophagitis, the case was started on oral prednisolone 1 mg/kg/day. In the polyclinic control of the case after a week, it was observed that there was a significant decrease in the complaints about dysphagia and in the one-month control the complaints were all gone. In the symptoms similar to dysphagia and reflux, especially if the case is not responding to gastroesophageal reflux treatment, the diagnosis of Eosinophilic Esophagitis should absolutely be considered. © Güncel Pediatri Dergisi, Galenos Yayınevi tarafından basılmıştır.

The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of Z.officinale and propolis extracts on intestine microbiology and histology in broilers as alternative growth promoters to antibiotics. One-day-old, Ross 308 male broiler chicks were used in the experiment. At the beginning of the experiment, seven treatment groups [negative control, positive control, Z. officinale, propolis and three different combinations of Z. officinale + propolis (0.5 + 0.5, 1 + 1 and 1.5 + 1.5)] were formed with similar mean weight, comprising 16 birds each. The objective of the study was to investigate the effect of only concentrate diet on growth and rumen development of Holstein calves during preweaning period. Thirty female and nine male calves were allocated to three treatments. Nine male calves were also divided into three treatments to operate for rumen wall samples. First group was fed with a calf starter and alfalfa hay as free choice, second group was received calf starter only and third group were fed with a total mixed ration (TMR) during the pre-weaning period. The average daily gain of the free choice, calf starter only and total mixed ration groups were 528.39±29.82, 509.00±34.08 and 479.21±25.86 g respectively. The average daily feed intake of the groups were 672.75±69.86, 619.73±77.75 and 499.60±81.69 g respectively. Calf starter group showed similar performances to free choice and TMR group of calves (P>0.05). PubMedID: 23218951 Background: Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is a genetic syndrome that predisposes patients to benign and malignant tumor development. Patients with NF1 develop multiple neurofibromas that can transform into aggressive sarcomas known as malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors. In contrast, malignant tumors unrelated to the nervous system rarely coexist with neurofibromatosis. The aim of this article was to present four cases of adult NF1 patients with malignant tumors unrelated to the nervous system as well as a bibliographic search for papers describing these tumors in NF1, focusing on osteosarcomas, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), leiomyosarcomas and somatostatinomas and their genetic alterations in NF1. Methods: Search engines such as PubMed and MEDLINE were browsed for English-language articles since 1989 using a list of keywords, as well as references from review articles. Search terms were NF1, osteosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, somatostatinoma and GIST. Data were summarized in a table at the end of the Results section. Results: In our four NF1 cases, there were one osteosarcoma, one leiomyosarcoma, one somatostatinoma and GIST and one GIST. NF1 was diagnosed at an adult age when these patients were admitted to our oncology department. The results generated by the literature search yielded 75 articles about NF and GIST. We summarized the clinical characteristics of 43 patients with NF1 and somatostatinoma. Forty-five articles involving NF and osteosarcoma were found, and of these, 26 involved NF1; from these articles, we identified the clinical features of 8 patients. Twenty-five articles were found concerning NF1 and leiomyosarcoma, and of those, we summarized the clinical features of 15 patients. Conclusions: Here we reviewed somatostatinomas, GISTs, osteosarcomas and leiomyosarcomas occurring in NF1 patients. Patients with NF1 who present with gastrointestinal symptoms, should be carefully evaluated carefully with a high index of suspicion of potential GISTs, periampullary and duodenal tumors. Patients with pathological fractures or bone pain along with NF1 should be carefully screened for malignant bone tumors. Patients with NF1 can develop leiomyosarcoma less frequently than other malignancies, but the association of uterine leiomyoma and NF1 may not be fortuitous. Somatic mutations were defined for frequent tumors, including neurogenic tumors and GISTs but not for sarcomas due to the complexity of underlying mechanisms of the disease and tumorigenesis. Based on the findings; all NF patients can develop malignant tumors, including the less frequently observed ones. Therefore, we recommend that new genetic studies should be performed for rare malignancies in cases of NF1. © 2012 Elsevier Ireland Ltd.
