This study evaluates the role of SIRT5 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) progression and explores the underlying mechanism. The expression and correlation of SIRT5 and FABP4 in lung cancer were analyzed by the GEPIA database. The expression levels of SIRT5 and FABP4 in NSCLC cells were measured by qRT-PCR and western blot. The effect of SIRT5 and FABP4 on NSCLC cell development was determined. The interaction between SIRT5 and FABP4 was analyzed by co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP). Tumor mass and volume were measured in nude mice to study the effect on the growth of NSCLC transplanted tumors. GEPIA database analysis showed that SIRT5 was highly expressed, while FABP4 was lowly expressed in lung cancer, which was consistent with the detection results of SIRT5 and FABP4 expressions in NSCLC cell lines. The expression of SIRT5 was negatively correlated with FABP4. Transfection of sh-SIRT5 in NSCLC cells led to a decrease in NSCLC cell malignancy, which was counteracted by sh-FABP4 transfection. Western blot and Co-IP showed that SIRT5 reduced FABP4 expression by inducting the deacetylation of FABP4. Nude mice in the sh-SIRT5 + sh-FABP4 group had significantly reduced tumor mass and volume compared with those in the sh-FABP4 group, while the tumor mass and volume in the sh-SIRT5 + sh-FABP4 group were increased in comparison to those in the sh-SIRT5 group. To conclude, collected evidence showed that SIRT5 promoted NSCLC cell development by reducing FABP4 acetylation level.

A novel coordination polymer based on Zn(II) ions as nodes, {[Zn2TTPA(GA)2]·2H2O}n, has been successfully synthesized by employment of tris[4-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)phenyl]amine (TTPA), a 1,2,4-triazole derivative with the presence of the flexible glutaric acid (H2GA) ligand with Zn(II) nitrate salts. Luminescent detection experiments show that the complex could be applied as a sensor for 2,4,6-trinitrophenol via the luminescence quenching. To develop new candidates for the sepsis treatment in clinic and evaluate the influence of the compound on the immune cells, the western blotting was conducted to detect the activation of the anti-bacterial response in the macrophages after compound treatment under infection. The relative expression levels of the miR-16 in the immune cells was measured for revealing the detail mechanism of the compound.

It is necessary to determine the degradation path model of products at first when using the method based on degradation path model to evaluate the degradation reliability of products. At present, the degradation path model is mainly determined by scatter plots of degradation data. However, this method has strong subjectivity and is liable to cause the evaluation results to be inconsistent with the actual situation. In this paper, a degradation reliability analysis method based on TOPSIS (technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution) model selection is proposed, and its implementation process is given. The optimal degradation path model is selected according to the calculated proximity. With the help of TOPSIS method, various degradation path models can be selected and quantified, and the original degradation path method can be improved to avoid the risk of errors in product reliability evaluation caused by inaccurate subjective hypothesis, so as to ensure the objectivity and accuracy in the process of model determination. The validity and practicability of the proposed method are verified by the degradation analysis of the injector of a certain type of diesel engine.

To effectively extract the fault feature information of rolling bearings and improve the performance of fault diagnosis, a fault diagnosis method based on principal component analysis and support vector machine was presented, and the rolling bearings signals with different fault states were collected. To address the limitation on effectively dealing with the raw vibration signals by the traditional signal processing technology based on Fourier transform, wavelet packet decomposition was employed to extract the features of bearing faults such as outer ring flaking, inner ring flaking, roller flaking and normal condition. Compared with the previous literature on fault diagnosis using principal component analysis (PCA) and support vector machine (SVM), one-to-one and one-to-many algorithms were taken into account. Additionally, the effect of four kernel functions, such as liner kernel function, polynomial kernel function, radial basis function and hyperbolic tangent kernel function, on the performance of SVM classifier was investigated, and the optimal hype-parameters of SVM classifier model were determined by genetic algorithm optimization. PCA was employed for dimension reduction, so as to reduce the computational complexity. The principal components that reached more than 95 % cumulative contribution rate were extracted by PCA and were input into SVM and BP neural network classifiers for identification. Results show that the fault feature dimensionality of the rolling bearing is reduced from 8-dimensions to 5-dimensions, which can still characterize the bearing status effectively, and the computational complexity is reduced as well. Compared with the raw feature set, PCA has a higher fault diagnosis accuracy (more than 97 %), and a shorter diagnosis time relatively. To better verify the superiority of the proposed method, SVM classification results were compared with the results of BP neural network. It is concluded that SVM classifier achieved a better performance than BP neural network classifier in terms of the classification accuracy and time-cost.

Thiol-ene click chemistry was applied to immobilize polyacrylamide onto alkenyl-modified silica to prepare a novel stationary phase for hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography. Polyacrylamide was synthesized by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer reaction. Alkenyl functionalities were introduced onto the silica by the reaction of silica with the reaction product of 3-isocyanate opropyl trimethoxy silane, allylamine and pyridine in toluene to obtain alkenyl-modified silica (EUS, E-thiol-ene, U-urea, S-silica). The alkenyl-modified silica was then reacted with polyacrylamide in methanol at 55 °C for 48 h in the presence of 2,2-azo diisobutyl amidine hydrochloride to prepare a novel stationary phase (TE-UPAM, TE-thiol-ene, U-urea, PAM-polyacrylamide), for hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography. This new stationary phase “TE-UPAM” was characterized by element analysis and infrared spectra, and the results showed that, compared with EUS, the carbon content of TE-UPAM increased and the characteristic peaks of multiple amide existed at 1636 and 1570 cm −1 . The effects of water content, salt concentration and pH of the mobile phase on the retention time of polar compounds were investigated. The results showed that the retention time of polar compounds decreased with the increase of water content. In contrast with acidic polar compounds, the retention time of neutral and basic polar compounds increased with the increase of salt concentration, and the retention time of basic polar compounds decreased with the decrease of pH value in the range of 3.3–4.8. The novel stationary phase behaved better than traditional silica stationary phase in the separation of uridine and bases. In addition, good separation of oligosaccharides by the novel stationary phase was also achieved, indicating great potential in the separation of polar compounds.

In this article, strategic investment in duopoly where the costs of the two firms are asymmetric is studied based on the option games. First, the expressions of value functions of the firm and the optimal investment thresholds are deduced. Second, this study investigates the strategy equilibriums and their types and existing conditions of both the firms by considering negative externalities and positive externalities, respectively. Third, the effect of uncertainty on investment thresholds and the effect of uncertainty, first-mover advantage, and second-mover advantage on equilibrium results and on investment interval are also discussed. Finally, the existence of optimal perfect Nash equilibrium strategies is proved further by a numerical analysis.

The efficiency of the bromination of toluene derivatives has been improved significantly by utilising a combination of hydrogen peroxide (30%) and hydrogen bromide (40%) in a continuous-flow micro reactor. This catalyst and solvent-free reaction takes place by visible-light photocatalysis.
