Abstract

Dual-functional nanoparticles, with the property of aggregation-induced emission and the capability of reactive oxygen species, were used to achieve passive/active targeting of tumor. Abstract

Micro‐LED, as one of the most promising advanced display technologies, has attracted increasing research interest from academia and display industry. With the outstanding performance in brightness, lifetime, and contrast, Micro‐LED display shows tremendous potential for applications in various electronic terminals. The bonding between Micro‐LED and backplane is the key technology that affects the industrialization of Micro‐LED display at present. The common bonding technology can be classified as metal bonding and ACF bonding. Metal bonding has the advantages of low cost and high bonding strength. However, the bonding yield is affected by the difficulties of thermal mismatch and short circuit. In order to solve these difficulties, we developed a bonding process based on Non‐Conductive Paste (NCP). That is, the Micro‐LED transfer onto the backplane with a lay of NCP, then realizing the conductivity between the Micro‐LED and the backplane by thermocompression bonding. In this paper, we applied this technology in 180 × 160 pixels full‐color Micro‐LED display, and achieved more than 99.99% bonding yield by testing the NCP material characteristics, temperature and pressure. Abstract

Micro‐LED is considered as the new generation of display with the long‐lifetime, high contrast and brightness, splicing capability, etc. Mass transfer is the bottleneck that limits the manufacturing of Micro‐LED display at large volume, due to factors such as laser‐ lift off, pick‐up, metal bonding, and so on. Metal bonding between the Micro‐LED chip and the substrate is one of the most important impactors to the light‐up yield. To solve the key thermal mismatch issue between the backplane and Micro‐LED donor during heating, the laser‐assisted bonding process could be a viable solution. We present a study in metallic element Au/Sn with high productivity, capability and low cost, as well as good thermal and electrical conductivity, excellent bonding strength, and low sensitivity to surface roughness. The result is presented in a 62× 78 pixels full color Micro‐LED display, with reliable metal electrical connection between microscale LED devices and the backplane that can be achieved under 250℃ without any damage to the backplane. In conclusion, the micro morphology and formation mechanism of different alloy phase compositions of welded metal elements have been thoroughly studied, and a feasible technological methodology has been developed for the upcoming mass production of Micro‐LED display modules. Abstract

Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) nanoparticles have been shown promise for fluorescence bioimaging and photodynamic therapy due to the good combination of nanoparticles and organic dyes or photosensitizers. Among several kinds of AIE nanoparticles, those that are capsulated with nanographene oxides (NGO) are easy to make, size-tunable, and have proven to be very stable in deionized water. However, the stability in saline solution still needs improvement for further applications in chemical or biomedical fields, and the efficacy of photodynamic therapy using NGO-capsulate AIE photosensitizers has not been evaluated yet. Herein, we modified NGO with polyethylene glycol (PEG) to improve the stability of NGO-capsulated AIE nanoparticles in phosphate buffer saline. Furthermore, by combining this modification method with a dual-functional molecule which has both typical AIE property and photosensitizing ability, we performed both two-photon fluorescence bioimaging and photodynamic therapy in vitro and in vivo. Abstract

The protonation of azulene derivatives with quantum interference effects is studied by the conductance measurements of single-molecule junctions. Three azulene derivatives with different connectivities are synthesized and reacted with trifluoroacetic acid to form the protonated states. It is found that the protonated azulene molecular junctions produce more than one order of magnitude higher conductance than the neutral states, while the molecules with destructive interference show more significant changes. These experimental observations are supported by our recently-developed parameter free theory of connectivity, which suggests that the largest conductance change occurs when destructive interference near the Fermi energy in the neutral state is alleviated by protonation.

Abstract

Imaging-guided photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been regarded as a promising strategy for precise cancer treatment. Because of their excellent modifiability and drug-loading capacity, nanoparticles have played an important role in PDT. Nonetheless, when traditional photosensitizers are made into nanoparticles, both their fluorescence and reactive oxygen species generation efficacy decrease due to a phenomenon known as aggregation-caused quenching. Fortunately, in recent years, several kinds of organic dyes with “abnormal” properties (termed aggregation-induced emission, AIE) were developed. With enhanced fluorescence emission in the nanoaggregation state, the traditional obstacles mentioned above may be overcome by AIE luminogens. Herein, we provide a better combination of photosensitizers and nanoparticles, namely, dual-function AIE nanoparticles capable of producing reactive oxygen species, to implement targeted and imaging-guided in vivo PDT. Good contrast of in vivo imaging and obvious therapeutic efficacy were observed at a low dose of AIE nanoparticles and low irradiance of light, thus resulting in negligible side effects. Abstract

Micro‐LED, as one of the most promising advanced display technologies, has attracted increasing research interest from academia and display industry. With the outstanding performance in brightness, lifetime, and contrast, Micro‐LED display shows tremendous potential for applications in various electronic terminals. Moreover, due to the advantages of high reliability and isolated encapsulation, Micro‐LED can achieve bezel‐less splicing. Therefore, compared with traditional display, Micro‐LED large‐size display panels can be realized by stitching multiple bezel‐less display modules in accordance with customer requirements, such as 110 inch luxury TV. In this paper, we introduce the 4.82 inch Micro‐LED panel, which is a building block of large tiled displays, can be realized with mass transfer and LTPS TFT technology. This may pave the way for future seamless‐tiled TV products.
