Objective: To investigate the situation of antibiotic use in the treatment of community pneumonia in children at Can Tho Children’s Hospital. Subjects and methods: Retrospective-descriptive study on 140 children diagnosed with community pneumonia, hospitalized for treatment at Can Tho Children’s Hospital from October 2020 to December 2020. Results: 55.71% of patients were taking antibiotics before hospitalization. Antibiotics used the most to treat pneumonia at hospital were penicillins/betalactamse inhibitors, accounting for 44.44%. For pneumonia patients, the rate of choosing the single regimen for initial treatment was 89.47% and the combination regimen was 10.53%. For patients with severe pneumonia, the rate of choosing of single regimen had decreased to 74.14%, while the choice of combination regimen had increased to 25.83%. The average number of regimen changes during treatment was 1.43 ± 056 times. The main reason for the change in the regimen was improved clinical symptoms (43.75%). The average duration of treatment with antibiotics was 6.48 ± 0.71 days. The duration of treatment as well as the duration of antibiotic use increased with the severity of the disease. Conclusion: The most commonly used antibiotics for treating commnity pneumonia at hospital were penicillins/betalactamse inhibitors. For pneumonia patients, a single regimen (89.47%) and a combination regimen (10.53%) was chosen. For patients with severe pneumonia, the choice of the single regimen decreased to 74.14%, the combination regimen increased to 25.83%. The main reason for the modification of the regimen was the improvement of clinical symptoms. The duration of treatment as well as the duration of antibiotic use increased with the severity of the disease.

Objective: Analyzing drug interactions in outpatient treatment at Thot Not District General Hospital in 2020.Subjects and methods: cross-sectional study on 400 prescriptions for insured patients with outpatient medical records at Thot Not general hospital from January 1st, 2020 to June 30th, 2020.Results: Five pairs of clinically significant drug interactions were recorded with the databases used in the study. The rate of prescription of drug interactions with clinical significance was 11%. The number of prescriptions with a drug interaction accounted for the highest proportion (10.8%) and only one prescription with two drug interactions detected (0.2%). The pair of drug interactions thatappeared with the most frequency were clopidogrel and proton pump inhibitors (34.1%), followed by interactions between aspirin and NSAIDs (25%), interactions between codeine and clopheniramin(20.4%). There was no relationship between the patient’s age and the ability of drug interactions (p> 0.05) but there was an association between the sex and the amount of drugs used in the prescriptionand the ability of drug interactions was statistically significant (p

Mục tiêu: Khảo sát ảnh hưởng của Trastuzumab với chức năng cơ tim ở bệnh nhân ung thư tuyến vú tại Bệnh viện Thống Nhất. Đối tượng và phương pháp nghiên cứu: Nghiên cứu hồi cứu trên 48 bệnh nhân (BN) ung thư tuyến vú đã được điều trị với Trastuzumab tại Bệnh viện Thống Nhất. Kết quả: Tỷ lệ bệnh nhân có suy tim theo tiêu chuẩn chẩn đoán Frammingham là 4,17%. Tỷ lệ bệnh nhân không có biểu hiện suy tim theo tiêu chuẩn chẩn đoán Frammingham là 95,83%. Theo mức độ thay đổi EF, tỷ lệ bệnh nhân có giảm EF > 10% sau điều trị là 43,75%. Với có 9 bệnh nhân có EF< 53%, chiếm 18,75%. Tỷ lệ bệnh nhân phải ngừng điều trị do độc tính tại tim trong quá trình điều trị với Trastuzumab là 12,5% với 6,25% ngừng hoàn toàn và 6,25% bệnh nhân ngừng tạm thời. Kết luận: Tỷ lệ bệnh nhân suy tim có tỷ lệ nhỏ, tỷ lệ EF < 53% chiếm tỷ lệ thấp. Tỷ lệ ngừng điều trị do độc tính tại tim trong quá trình điều trị với Trastuzumab có tỷ lệ thấp.

Objective: To survey the use of carbapenem antibiotics at An Sinh General Hospital. Subjects and methods: retrospective descriptive study on 100 medical records of patients being treated in departments of An Sinh General Hospital from June 1st, 2020 to December 31st, 2020. Results: The carbapenem antibiotic used at An Sinh General Hospital mainly indicated for the treatment of pneumonia accounted for the highest percentage with 53.3%. There were 100% of strains of Haemophilus influenzae; Rhizobium radiobacter; Proteus. cp; Streptococcus mitis, which was also sensitive to carbapenem. 100% strains of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia bacteria was resistant to meropenem; 01 strain of Burkhorderia vietnamiensis was isolated against imipenem; 2 of 3 strains of Staphylococcus aereus isolated were resistant to meropenem. Carbapenem was mainly used in combination regimens. The proportion of the combination in the initial regimen was 100%. The rate of combination of 3 antibiotics was 22.7%. In the replaceable regimen, the combination rate was 82.2%. Conclusion: The carbapenem group was indicated for the treatment of pneumonia. Strains of the bacteria Haemophilus influenzae; Rhizobium radiobacter; Proteus. cp; Streptococcus mitis was also sensitive to carbapenem. Bacteria strains Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, Burkhorderia vietnamiensis and Staphylococcus aereus were resistant to meropenem. Carbapenem was mainly used in combination regimens.

Subjects and methods: a retrospective study on 48 patients with breast cancer treated with Trastuzumab at Thong Nhat hospital. Results: Percentage of patients with heart failure according to the Frammingham diagnostic criteria was 4.17%. The proportion of patients with no symptoms of heart failure according to Frammingham diagnostic criteria was 95.83%. According to the degree of EF change, the proportion of patients with decreased EF > 10% after treatment was 43.75%. With 9 patients with EF < 53%, accounting for 18.75%.
