Background: In the Visakhapatnam District, this study compares the quality management procedures used by public and private hospitals. Knowing how these practices are similar and different from one another can help inform policy decisions and improve the quality of health care. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used, and 100 hospitals from both public (50 hospitals) and private (50 hospitals) were included in the sample size. A standardized questionnaire that evaluated different aspects of quality management practices was used to gather the data. Descriptive statistics and inferential tests were used in the quantitative analysis. Results: Significant variations in quality management procedures between public and private hospitals were found. In terms of patient happiness, service responsiveness, and technological use, private hospitals scored better. Regarding accessibility, cost, and equity of healthcare services, public hospitals fared better. Conclusion: The report emphasizes the necessity of focused initiatives to improve quality management procedures in both public and commercial institutions. Collaboration between the two sectors can make it easier to deploy evidence-based tactics and share best practices to raise overall healthcare quality in the Visakhapatnam area. Background: Worldwide healthcare systems, especially those that provide dental treatment, have been devastated by the COVID-19 epidemic. Future healthcare initiatives must take into account the pandemic's effects on oral health and service consumption. The purpose of this retrospective study was to examine how the COVID-19 pandemic affected dental health and the use of dental services, with a particular emphasis on a tertiary care facility from 2017 to 2022., Methods: Descriptive analysis was performed on data gathered from patient records, including demographics, diagnoses, treatments, and service consumption. Prepandemic, pandemic, and postpandemic variations in oral health trends and service use were evaluated., Findings: During the pandemic, there was a notable decrease in emergency dental visits, whereas teledentistry consultations increased. Age and socioeconomic level are two demographic variables that have an impact on variations in oral health trends., Conclusion: In summary, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant influence on dental health and service consumption, underscoring the necessity of flexible approaches to deal with new issues and inequities in dental care access. Background: Ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN) encompasses a range of dysplastic changes from mild dysplasia to invasive carcinoma. This research aims to elucidate the cytomorphological spectrum of OSSN in the elderly age group and correlate these findings with clinical and pathological features., Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on elderly patients (>60 years) diagnosed with OSSN over a 5 year period. Cytological and histopathological findings were analyzed and correlated with clinical data., Results: The cytomorphological spectrum of OSSN in the elderly age group exhibited a broad range of cellular changes, from mild dysplasia to invasive squamous cell carcinoma. The predominant cytological features included increased nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio, pleomorphism, and abnormal mitotic figures. Clinically, OSSN presented most commonly as a unilateral conjunctival mass with a history of chronic irritation. Histopathologically, there was a significant correlation between the degree of dysplasia and the depth of invasion ( P < 0.05)., Conclusion: This research highlights the diverse cytomorphological spectrum of OSSN in the elderly age groups and emphasizes the importance of comprehensive clinicopathological correlation for accurate diagnosis and management. The predominant cytological features observed, including increased nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio, pleomorphism, and abnormal mitotic figures, reflect the underlying dysplastic alterations and provide valuable insights into the diagnosis and the classification of OSSN. Introduction: Uterine fibroids, which are benign tumors affecting a significant proportion of women, often necessitate hysterectomy for suggestive relief. Understanding the relative efficiency and safety profiles of different techniques is crucial for optimizing patient care., Materials and Methods: This prospective cohort study enrolled women diagnosed with symptomatic uterine fibroids who underwent hysterectomy. Surgical techniques included "total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH)", "laparoscopic hysterectomy (LH)", and "vaginal hysterectomy (VH)". Efficacy outcomes included operative time, blood loss, and recurrence rates, while complications encompassed intraoperative and postoperative adverse events., Results: Laparoscopic hysterectomy demonstrated the shortest operative time and least blood loss compared with TAH and VH. Total abdominal hysterectomy had the highest rates of both intraoperative and postoperative complications, followed by LH and VH. Background: Socioeconomic variables continue to play a major role in the global persistence of dental health inequities. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between socioeconomic characteristics and dental health outcomes at a tertiary-care facility over a 10-year period., Methods: Patient demographics, socioeconomic factors, and dental health outcomes were analyzed retrospectively from dental health records. To determine the relationships between socioeconomic characteristics and disparities in oral health, statistical studies were carried out., Results: Tooth cavities and untreated dental problems were more common in people with lower incomes and educational levels. There were notable differences in oral health outcomes between various socioeconomic groups., Conclusion: In conclusion, this research shows that there is a persistent relationship at a tertiary-care facility between socioeconomic characteristics and disparities in oral health.
