Vascular malformations, including lymphatic-venous malformations (LVMs), are complex and can lead to significant morbidity. This case report details the management of a rare multifocal, combined LVM in a 3-month-old male, misdiagnosed as a right inguinal hernia prenatally. Postnatal imaging revealed multiloculated cystic masses extending from the mons pubis to the right groin, scrotum, and thigh. Doppler ultrasound and MRI demonstrated the extent of the masses, with the largest cyst measuring 4 × 4 × 2 cm. Initial surgical excision and debulking were performed; however, the lesion recurred 6 months later. Given the complexity and involvement of truncal vessels, complete excision was not feasible, and sclerotherapy with intralesional Bleomycin injections was initiated. After the first Bleomycin injection, a significant reduction in lesion size was observed. However, 6 months later, the lesion recurred and enlarged, necessitating a second Bleomycin injection. Subsequent follow-ups showed further reduction in lesion size. Unfortunately, 2 years later, the patient experienced diffuse cystic infiltration of the pelvis and right lower extremity due to treatment delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Imaging at this stage revealed a cystic mass in the right pelvic cavity measuring 10 × 6 × 5 cm. Two additional sessions of Bleomycin injections were performed, resulting in a successful resolution of the cystic masses. Regular follow-ups have shown that the LVMs remain under control, with no symptoms and no concerns from the family. This case underscores the complexities involved in diagnosing and managing multifocal, combined LVMs. It suggests that Bleomycin sclerotherapy can be a valuable, minimally invasive alternative to more extensive surgical procedures, particularly when critical structures are involved. The patient’s condition has been successfully managed with a combination of surgical and sclerotherapy interventions, ultimately resulting in symptomatic relief and cosmetic improvement.

Abstract People living in coastal areas are frequently affected by natural disasters, such as floods and storms. This study aimed to assess the quality of life (QoL) of people living in disadvantaged coastal communes (subdivision of Vietnam) and identify their associated factors by using the World Health Organization’s quality of life instrument (WHOQOL-BREF). To achieve this, a cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 595 individuals aged 18 years and above living in the coastal communes in Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam, from October 2022 to February 2023. The results showed that the mean overall QoL (mean ± SD) was 61.1 ± 10.8. Among the four domains of QoL, the physical health (57.2 ± 12.3) domain had a lower score than the psychological health (61.9 ± 13.0), social relations (63.4 ± 13.4), and environment (61.9 ± 13.3) domains. The QoL score of the domains for participants affected by flooding was significantly lower than that of those not affected, except for social relations. Multivariable logistic regression showed that subjects with not good QoL had the educational background with no formal education (Odds ratio (OR) = 2.63, 95% CI 1.19–5.83), fairly poor/poor households (OR = 2.75, 95% CI 1.48–5.12), suffered Musculoskeletal diseases (OR = 1.61, 95% CI 1.02–2.56), unsatisfaction with health status (OR = 5.27, 95% CI 2.44–11.37), family conflicts (OR = 4.51, 95%CI 2.10–9.69), and low levels of social support (OR = 2.62; 95% CI 1.14–6.02). The analysis also revealed that workers (OR = 0.17, 95% CI 0.04–0.66) had a better QoL than farmer-fisherman. QoL in disadvantaged coastal communes was low, with the lowest scores in the physical health domain. Based on the socioeconomic factors associated with not good QoL identified here, it is recommended that local authorities take more appropriate and practical measures to increase support, including measures for all aspects of physical health, psychological health, social relations, and the living environment, especially for people affected by floods.

AbstractThe explosion of information technology has created new marketing trends and advertising appeals from brands. These brands have also become diverse often defending the equality of the LGBTQ + group as a societal issue which garners attention in the modern era. Many firms frequently depict members of the LGBTQ + community in their advertising to demonstrate their position on this issue. We create a model in the context of the fashion industry, drawing on the Stimulus Organism Response Theory (SOR), to investigate how the rainbow element affected the correlation between advertising appeals, (inner and social) self-expression, and behavioral intention when comparing Vietnamese and U.S. Data from the experimental survey were collected from 472 respondents, including Vietnamese and U.S. The finding indicates that rainbow LGBTQ + ads only moderate the relationship between advertising appeals and self-expressive in the U.S. case, while the Vietnamese case does not. Self-expressive partially mediates the link between advertising appeals and behavioral intention. By comprehending the behavioral traits of both domestic and U.S. consumers, this study seeks to broaden existing research models and provide suitable recommendations to improve the commercial operations of firms.

Introduction: Lymphatic malformations (LMs) or lymphangiomas are rare congenital anomalies affecting the lymphatic system. They are predominantly found in the head and neck, with less common occurrences in abdominal cavity or scrotum. Bleomycin is among the sclerotic agents used, capable of inducing a non-specific inflammatory process leading to thrombosis and fibrosis of the cyst. However, there is limited literature regarding the efficacy of Bleomycin as a standalone treatment for large and mixed types of cystic LMs. Case presentation: A 17-year-old male presented with swelling in the right inguinal and scrotal regions, without tenderness. Ultrasound and contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan (CT scan) revealed a large, well-defined multiloculated cystic lesion measuring 7x8x8cm in the pelvic region, extending into the left inguinoscrotal region (15x6x8cm), consistent with LMs. Treatment comprised aspiration of cystic fluid followed by Bleomycin injection, administered at a maximum dosage of 0.5 IU/kg body weight under general anesthesia. A sequence of five sclerotherapy sessions of Bleomycin injections was carried out, with each session spaced one month apart. Following 15 months of observation, no intra-abdominal cystic masses were identified, and scrotal ultrasound displayed near-complete resolution. Only a fibrotic tissue measuring 1.5 × 1cm in size was identified in the scrotum, and it remained stable across three consecutive scans, indicating that no further intervention was required. Conclusion: Based on this case study, sclerotherapy using intralesional Bleomycin injection for large, complex LMs in children appears to be safe and effective. This scarless approach seems to provide good cosmetic outcomes and poses a minimal risk of neurovascular injury.

The purpose of this paper is presenting 2 examples of using English to teach history and economic subjects in universities and colleges. Another goal of this study is that we aim to enhance teaching quality in schools, colleges and universities through case teaching methods which can help students to expand discussion via open mind method. Al-Issa (2006) stated that for five decades there is an important international activity, that is English language teaching (ELT), which became a big business. And dominated by USA, it shows that English roles has been increasing on the world arena in the postcolonial/neocolonial age. For using English to teach History subjects we have to not only catch the historical terms and topics very well but we also combine language teaching with images, ICT tools, LCDs with effective history languages. For using English to teach economic subjects, we have to note there are key economic terms for each economic subjects as well as practice speaking and listening very often in order to deliver effective messages to students and facilitate effective communication inside classrooms. Huy, D.T.N., Hanh, N.T.T, Thao, N.T.P et al (2021) mention there is psychological and pedagogy issues when teaching at schools. We present a typical case teaching in economic subject: analyze stock price and beta CAPM determinants in a single case study of Vietinbank -- CTG in Vietnam financial market during operation period 2011-2020. Next, we will present a case teaching in Indonesian revolution for history subject. Authors also present a process of applying English in teaching history and economic via 2 specific case examples.

Facing the quantum attack threat, a quantum-resistant version of the SSH Transport Layer protocol has been proposed and been standardized by an IETF working group. This standardization process has been motivated by the fact that if practical quantum computers become available, classical key exchange algorithms used today will no longer be safe because their security can be efficiently broken by Shor’s algorithm running on a quantum computer. In this paper, we construct a symbolic model of the proposed protocol, specify it in the specification language CafeOBJ, and conduct a formal analysis of the claimed security properties with the employment of a formal method tool called Invariant Proof Score Generator (IPSG). Three security properties are formally verified with respect to an unbounded number of protocol participants and protocol executions by employing IPSG to produce their formal proofs, the so- called proof scores in CafeOBJ. With another property, namely authentication, we find a counterexample against it, and then we propose to slightly revise the protocol. With the improved version, we formally verify that the authentication property is enjoyed, while the three properties remain secure. To model the presence of malicious participants, we extend the Dolev-Yao intruder, which is the standard intruder model used in security protocol analysis/verification, because the availability assumption of large-scale quantum computers gives the attacker some new capabilities. Under our threat model, the intruder is given capabilities of fully controlling the network as the Dolev-Yao intruder, and additionally breaking ECDH’s security as well as compromising secrets.

Introduction: 3D pharmacophore models describe the ligand’s chemical interactions in their bioactive conformation. They offer a simple but sophisticated approach to decipher the chemically encoded ligand information, making them a valuable tool in drug design.Methods: Our research summarized the key studies for applying 3D pharmacophore models in virtual screening for 6,944 compounds of APJ receptor agonists. Recent advances in clustering algorithms and ensemble methods have enabled classical pharmacophore modeling to evolve into more flexible and knowledge-driven techniques. Butina clustering categorizes molecules based on their structural similarity (indicated by the Tanimoto coefficient) to create a structurally diverse training dataset. The learning method combines various individual pharmacophore models into a set of pharmacophore models for pharmacophore space optimization in virtual screening.Results: This approach was evaluated on Apelin datasets and afforded good screening performance, as proven by Receiver Operating Characteristic (AUC score of 0.994 ± 0.007), enrichment factor of (EF1% of 50.07 ± 0.211), Güner-Henry score of 0.956 ± 0.015, and F-measure of 0.911 ± 0.031.Discussion: Although one of the high-scoring models achieved statistically superior results in each dataset (AUC of 0.82; an EF1% of 19.466; GH of 0.131 and F1-score of 0.071), the ensemble learning method including voting and stacking method balanced the shortcomings of each model and passed with close performance measures.

Purpose: Cultured lichen mycobionts are valuable sources of new natural compounds. Mycobiont of Graphis handelii growing in Vietnam was isolated, cultivated and chemically investigated. The crude extract of this cultured mycobiont showed potent alpha-glucosidase inhibition with an IC50 value of 50 μg/mL. Methods: Multiple chromatographic methods were applied to the extract to isolate compounds. The combination of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance analysis and high-resolution mass spectroscopy determined their chemical structures. Electrophilic bromination/chlorination was applied to obtain new derivatives using NaBr/H2O2 and NaCl/H2O2 reagents. Compounds were evaluated for enzyme inhibitory activities, including alpha-glucosidase inhibition, HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibition, SARS-CoV-2 main protease (Mpro) inhibition, anti-inflammatory activity, and cytotoxicity against several cancer cell lines. A molecular docking study for anti-SARS-CoV-2 was conducted to understand the inhibitory mechanism. Results: A new diphenyl ether, handelone (1) and a known compound xylarinic acid A (2) were isolated and elucidated. Four synthetic products 6′-bromohandelone (1a), 2′-bromohandelone (1b), 2′,6′-dibromohandelone (1c), and 2′,6′-dichlorohandelone (1d) were prepared. Compound 1 showed good activity against Mpro with an IC50 value of 5.2 μM but it showed weak or inactive activity in other tests. Other compounds were inactive in all assays. Conclusion: A new compound, handelone (1) was isolated from the cultured mycobiont of Graphis handelii. From these compounds, four new derivatives were prepared. Compound 1 showed good activity against Mpro with an IC50 value of 5.2 μM but it showed weak or inactive activity in other tests. Other compounds were inactive in all assays.

Background: The information on prevalence of undiagnosed hyperglycemia, and hypertension among the adult in Vietnam is limited. The aim of this study was to identify the prevalence of undiagnosed intermediate hyperglycemia, hyperglycemia, and hypertension and some associated factors among adults aged ≥40 years living in Ba Vi district in Hanoi, Vietnam. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 1814 adults aged ≥40 years nine communes in Ba Vi district, a semi rural area, in Hanoi, Vietnam. Lists of the adults aged ≥40 years living in nine communes, who reported undiagnosed for hypertension, and diabetes, were made. From the lists, the participants were randomly selected based on the selection criteria. Participants were people who reported they are free of hypertension, diabetes, prediabetes at the day of data collection. Participants were collected information on sociodemographic characteristics, blood pressure measurement, and 3 ml fasting venous blood samples by certified phlebotomists. The main study outcomes variables were intermediate hyperglycemia, hyperglycemia, and hypertension. Results: Prevalence of undiagnosed intermediate hyperglycemia, hyperglycemia, and hypertension among the participants were 47.8 %, 8.2 %, and 40.0 %, respectively. Higher prevalence of undiagnosed intermediate hyperglycemia (53.3 % vs 46.2 %), hyperglycemia (13.5 % vs 7.9 %), and high blood pressure (52.8 % vs 33.9 %) were found among males compared with females. Conclusion: High prevalence of undiagnosed intermediate hyperglycemia, hyperglycemia, and hypertension were found in the middle-aged adults in Vietnam. Improving the individual's awareness and early screening for diabetes, and hypertension in adults for timely management are necessary.

Syzygium zeylanicum (L.) DC. (SZL) has long been used as a traditional remedy for diabetes, but its underlying mechanisms of action remain unknown. This study aimed to investigate the antidiabetic activity of SZL polyphenols (SZL_EAF) via anti-hyperglycemic effect, regulation of gene expression related to lipid metabolism, glucose uptake and glucose utilization, and the gut microbiome modulation in diabetic zebrafish models. The results revealed that SZL_EAF exhibited a significant anti-hyperglycemic effect after five days of treatment. It also effectively regulated the expression of genes such as Acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1 (ACC1), Sodium–glucose cotransporters (SGLT1), and Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) in diabetic zebrafish models. Additionally, SZL_EAF exhibited anti-pathogenic properties, promoted probiotics under hyperglycemic conditions, and restored the gut microbiome of diabetic zebrafish to normal levels. Overall, our finding indicated that SZL_EAF alleviates diabetes by reducing the blood glucose level, regulating the expression of diabetes-related genes, and restoring the gut microbiota.

The subnano free-volume hole features of Nafion-212 and polystyrene sulfonic acid) grafted poly(ethylene-co-tetrafluoroethylene) polymer electrolyte membranes are investigated by using the positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopic analyses with three- and four-component models (i.e., one- and two-ortho-positronium [o-Ps] components). The four-component model provides a more adequate description of free-volume hole features for both membranes, in which the longer o-Ps lifetime is assigned to the larger free volume hole sizes in the mobile side chains, while the shorter o-Ps lifetime is associated with the smaller free volume hole sizes within the backbones (the rigid amorphous fractions and the crystalline-amorphous interfaces) and the interfaces between the main chains and the side chains. The o-Ps annihilation is found to occur primarily in the side chains. The subnano volume hole features revealed by the positron annihilation lifetime (PAL) spectra suggest the primary water uptake and conductance in the side chains and the possible presence of water molecules in the rigid amorphous fractions and the interfaces. Note that the three-component model as usually reported in the literature may underestimate the lifetime and intensity of ortho-positronium annihilation. This paper proposes a fault-tolerant control (FTC) strategy using the current space vectors to diagnose sensor failures and enhance the sustained operation of a field-oriented (FO) controlled induction motor drive (IMD). Three space vectors are established for the sensor fault diagnosis technique, including one converted from the measured currents and the other two calculated from the current estimation technique, respectively, measured and with reference speeds. A mixed mathematical model using three space vectors and their components is proposed to accurately determine the fault condition of each sensor in the motor drive. After determining the operating status of each sensor, if the sensor signal is in good condition, the feedback signal to the controller will be the measured signal; otherwise, the estimated signal will be used instead of the failed signal. Failure states of the various sensors were simulated to check the effectiveness of the proposed technique in the Matlab/Simulink environment. The simulation results are positive: the IMD system applying the proposed FTC technique accurately detected the failed sensor and maintained stability during the operation.

This article presents a security formal analysis of the hybrid post-quantum Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol, a quantum-resistant version of the TLS protocol proposed by Amazon Web Services as a precaution in dealing with future attacks from quantum computers. In addition to a classical key exchange algorithm, the proposed protocol uses a post-quantum key encapsulation mechanism, which is believed invulnerable under quantum computers, so the protocol’s key negotiation is called the hybrid key exchange scheme. One of our assumptions about the intruder’s capabilities is that the intruder is able to break the security of the classical key exchange algorithm by utilizing the power of large quantum computers. For the formal analysis, we use Maude-NPA and a parallel version of Maude-NPA (called Par-Maude-NPA) to conduct experiments. The security properties under analysis are (1) the secrecy property of the shared secret key established between two honest principals with the classical key exchange algorithm, (2) a similar secrecy property but with the post-quantum key encapsulation mechanism, and (3) the authentication property. Given the time limit T = 1,722 h (72 days), Par-Maude-NPA found a counterexample of (1) at depth 12 in T, while Maude-NPA did not find it in T. At the same time T, Par-Maude-NPA did not find any counterexamples of (2) and (3) up to depths 12 and 18, respectively, and neither did Maude-NPA. Therefore, the protocol does not enjoy (1), while it enjoys (2) and (3) up to depths 12 and 18, respectively. Subsequently, the secrecy property of the master secret holds for the protocol up to depth 12.

The Vietnamese fauna of bees in the Anthidiellum Cockerell (Megachilinae, Anthidiini) is reviewed. Seven species are recognized, representing two subgenera. Five new species are described and figured as: Anthidiellum (Clypanthidium) nahang Tran, Engel & Nguyen, sp. nov., A. (Pycnanthidium) ayun Tran, Engel & Nguyen, sp. nov., A. (P.) chumomray Tran, Engel & Nguyen, sp. nov., A. (P.) flavaxilla Tran, Engel & Nguyen, sp. nov., and A. (P.) cornu Tran, Engel & Nguyen, sp. nov. from the northern and central highlands of Vietnam. Two previously described species are newly recorded for the fauna: A. (P.) carinatum (Wu) and A. (P.) coronum (Wu), with the male of the latter species described and illustrated for the first time. An identification key is provided for all species of Anthidiellum occurring in Vietnam.

Fallopia multiflora (Thunb.) Haraldson (abbreviated as F. multiflora), belonging to Polygonaceae family, has long been used in traditional medicine. Polyphenols, main compounds in F. multiflora roots, have high antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, etc. Processing F. multiflora roots is necessary to reduce their negative effect on liver. Study on processing red F. multiflora roots and optimizing the extraction of polyphenols from processed red F. multiflora root product is to decrease the liver toxicity and to find the optimal conditions for extract of polyphenols from processed product. This study deals with the influence of some factors including to the ratio of solvent and medicinal herbs (mL/g), extraction temperature (?C), extraction time (min) on polyphenol content and its activity in red F. multiflora roots. Raw material has been processed by the stewing method with black bean water, then by ultrasonic extraction immersed on an ES-600N device (the ultrasonic capacity of 600W, the particle size of powder of 0.5-1.0 mm). Polyphenol content and its activities were evaluated by Folin-Ciocalteu technique and DPPH method. The response surface method combined with the Box-Behnken design was used to optimize polyphenol extraction. The optimization results obtained on the raw sample were the solvent/medicinal herb ratio of 5.7/1, the extraction temperature of 42.4?C, the extraction time of 47.6 min while the optimal extraction conditions for processed sample were the solvent/medicinal herb ratio 11.2/1, extraction temperature of 53?C, extraction time of 52 min. At the optimal extraction conditions of F. multiflora roots, the polyphenol content and its activity of raw sample were 60.41?0.14 mgGAE/g and 65.98?0.22%, respectively. They were lower than those of the processed sample, 59.91?0.17 mgGAE/g and 80.18?0.21%, respectively. These results indicated that the processing is necessary for polyphenol extraction from F. multiflora roots to obtain the products having high antioxidation activity.

Over the past few years, attention to environmental problems, legal necessities, and economic advantages emerging from reproduction activities has attracted attention to reverse logistics activities in the form of a closed-loop supply chain, whether in industry or scientific research. The current study aims to model competitiveness and comparison between two closed-loop three-level supply chains, each of which includes a manufacturer, a retailer, and a third party to collect the products used by the customer, taking into account the concepts of game theory and the existence of aggregates. Moreover, a separate supplier for each chain is considered. In the forward supply chain, the manufacturer produces new products using new components or re-used products that have been collected from the consumer, then sells these products mainly to the retailer, and the retailer sells them. In the reverse chain, the collector provides the used products to the manufacturer after collection. The study utilized the definitions and concepts of game theory to model this closed loop chain as a Stackelberg game to obtain the optimal value of wholesale and retail price and the optimal value of the product return coefficient for the collector. Finally, the models based on some numerical examples are solved. Given the results, the remanufacturing costs have a significant role in making more profits for all members in such chains, and competitive chains should attempt to remanufacture the products at lower costs.

Recently, utilizing appropriate inventory control policy and determining the optimal selling price for various goods has been the main topic of scientific and industrial research. Inventory management policy 1 by the seller is one solution that improves the chain’s performance by creating coordination between members of the supply chain. The current study attempts to devise an integrated model of inventory pricing and control under the inventory management policy by the seller for perishable goods with shortages is considered. The purpose of presenting the model is to determine the optimal price, the optimal repayment time, and the order size, in order to maximize the profit. To acquire those optimal values, the profit functions of the buyer and the seller are taken into account. Given the results acquired, it is demonstrated that at any cost, the repayment time is unique and optimal. It is concluded that with the optimal recovery time available, the objective function is a concave function of price, and its optimal value is available. Furthermore, utilizing the inventory management policy by the seller could be a proper means to reducing retailer costs while raising their profit.
