The current research trial was conducted at Oilseeds Research Institute (ORI), Faisalabad for resistance/ susceptibility source against a devastating Brassica disease i.e. Alternaria leaf spot. In this field research trial, thirteen (13) varieties/ advanced lines of brassica were assessed during 2019-20 and 2020-21 by adopting statistical design namely RCBD (Randomized Complete Block Design) at the experimental research field of (ORI), Faisalabad under the umbrella of Ayub Agricultural Research Institute Faisalabad. In 2019-20, one advance line viz. RBJ-15013 exhibited resistant response with 8.00% disease incidence with rating 1 while six lines i.e. RBJ-15017, RBJ-16007, RBJ-17003, BRJ-17075, BRJ-17078 and Super Raya expressed moderately resistant reaction under rating 2. Likewise, four varieties/advanced lines exhibited moderately susceptible (MS) response whereas one advanced line KJ-294 expressed susceptible response (rating 4) and KJ-159 showed highly susceptible (HS) response by 85.67% disease incidence with rating 5. During 2020-21 one advanced line exhibited highly susceptible response with (81.70%) disease incidence with rating 5 while one of the advance line i.e. KJ-159 (71.80%) showed susceptible response (rating 4). Similarly, eight advanced lines viz. RBJ-15017, RBJ-17003, BRJ-17075, Super Raya, RBJ-17005, KJ-294, 18CBJ005 and KJ-284 exhibited moderately susceptible (MS) response (rating 3). Likewise, two variety/ advance lines RBJ-15013 and BRJ-17078 exhibited moderately resistant response whereas one of the advanced line i.e. RBJ-16007 (8.47%) showed resistant response (rating 1). It had been concluded that resistant varieties/ advanced lines are the most appropriate and economical disease management approach against Alternaria Leaf Spot Disease of brassica. Charcoal Rot (CR) caused by Macrophomina Phaseolina has adverse effect on sesame crop in Pakistan. Use of host plant resistance is the cheapest and effective disease management strategy. In this research 52 local sesame genotypes were used to evaluate resistance against Charcoal rot disease in two consecutive summer seasons i.e. 2017 and 2018, in a sick field under natural conditions. The results showed that there was notable difference in disease infection percentage (DI%) of the varieties tested in two years. Furthermore, the results indicated that DI% for genotypes tested in 2017 ranged from 06.97% to 50.82%, whereas, DI% for genotypes tested in 2018 remained between 4.91% and 52.63%. In both seasons only 3 sesame lines L-7, ML-6-8/12 and L-100 were classified as a resistant (R) and they exhibited lower means of DI% 8.21 %, 7.84 %, 6.97% andDI% 8.19, 6.15, 4.91 during 2017 and 2018 respectively. On the other hand, 12 lines name Black Til, TH-6, No-7/12, ML-6-8-12, Cluster, 70004, L-41, 20011, 50022, L-24, No-6/12, and TS-3were classified as a moderately resistant (MR).Twenty three lines were grouped into moderately susceptible (MS)class and the susceptible (S) group contains 8 genotypes 95006-2, 97005, 97001, 97002, 92001-52-9, 96008, 16003 and Shan in both seasons but three lines such as 93003, 93005-3-4, and No-56 were moderately resistant MR in first season and moderately susceptible in second season. Similarly the genotypes 9600- 4-1 and Agara were moderately susceptible (MS) in first season and susceptible (S) in second season. The research was conducted for the source of resistance against Alternaria leaf spot disease of brassica. In the current research, ten varieties/advanced lines were evaluated in 2016-17 and 2017-18 against this disease using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) at the experimental research area of Oilseeds Research Institute, Ayub Agricultural Research Institute Faisalabad. During 2016, three advanced lines (RBN-13017, RBN-13022 and RBN- 13029) exhibited moderately resistant response with 22.33%, 18.42% and 13.76% disease incidence respectively under rating 2 whereas two advanced lines namely KN-294 (34.56%) and 14CBN009 (42.99%) expressed a moderately susceptible response (rating 3). Similarly, four advanced lines/varieties showed susceptible response with (66.54%), (54.28%), (64.77%) and (60.12) percent disease incidence while KJ-159 was used as spreader that expressed highly susceptible response with 92.14 % disease incidence. During 2017-18 four varieties/advanced lines namely KN-279, 14CBN001, Faisal Canola and Rohi Sarson exhibited susceptible response with (68.84%), (56.38%), (66.97%) and (58.22) percent disease incidence (rating 4) whereas two advanced lines such as KN-294 (31.86%) and 14CBN009 (40.09%) showed moderately susceptible response (rating 3). Likewise, three advanced lines exhibited moderately resistant response with 24.63%, 19.82% and 12.06% disease incidence respectively under rating 2.
