MHA is an inherited thrombocytopenia easily misdiagnosed as idiopathic (immune) thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Early and appropriate diagnosis of MHA during pregnancy is essential for optimal maternal and neonatal delivery outcome. Additionally, it can avoid unnecessary diagnostic studies, such as bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, and even harmful therapies with corticosteroids, immunosuppressive agents, and splenectomy. Consequently, the most serious impacts of this disease are iatrogenic managements due to misdiagnosis. It seems that in patients with MHA, adequate clinical coagulation is far more dependent on adequate platelet function than any particular platelet count. Laser WakeField Acceleration (LWFA) is extensively used as a high-energy electron source, with electrons achieving energies up to the GeV level. The produced electron beam characteristics depend strongly on the gas density profile. When the gaseous target is a gas jet, the gas density profile is affected by parameters, such as the nozzle geometry, the gas used, and the backing pressure applied to the gas valve. An electron source based on the LWFA mechanism has recently been developed at the Institute of Plasma Physics and Lasers. To improve controllability over the electron source, we developed a set of 3D-printed nozzles suitable for creating different gas density profiles according to the experimental necessities. Introduction: The global COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have significantly impacted global wellbeing and highlighted the close link between mental and physical health. Social isolation and quarantine have proven to be major stressors, leading to emotional distress and unpredictable psychological consequences. Objectives: We explored the pandemic's impact on individuals' physical and mental health and social relationships. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study using a questionnaire which included among other socio-democratic questions, the Fear of COVID-19 Scale, the World Health Organization Quality-of-Life Scale (WHOQOL-BREF) and the Toronto Empathy Questionnaire (TEQ). Results: A total of 511 adults (55.1% males) participated in this study. Participants reported increased social media use (more than 4-5 times/week) during the lockdown, which was associated with increased fear of COVID-19 and negative effects on mental and physical health, and social relationships (p<0.01). Conversely, non-work-related outings (once a week) were associated with lower fear (p<0.01) and better well-being (p<0.05). Higher fear, particularly for loved ones, was associated with negative effects. The level of physical health was moderate to high, with varying levels of satisfaction in different areas. Empathy correlated with increased fear (p<0.01) and reduced mobility (p<0.05). Conclusions: The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns significantly affected physical and mental health, highlighting the importance of tailoring interventions for vulnerable populations and promoting adaptive coping strategies in times of crisis. A mathematical model in a multi-level manpower planning setting is developed and analyzed incorporating the divisions of an organization's personnel into several homogeneous groups. The proposed framework builds upon recent research to develop, via the continuous time scale, a departmental model encompassing employees flows within departments (intra-departmental transitions), as well as transfers among departments (inter-departmental transitions). Management-wise, this is a common practice under certain conditions as in restructuring and rightsizing ventures both in private industries and in the public sector. After establishing the baseline differential equations of the system, an investigation follows regarding the system's limiting behavior integrating the concept of department contraction which can be seen as an indirect and mild control that can be exercised on the manpower system. It is proved that under a set of conditions, the system's limiting structure exists and is specified. The aforementioned asymptotic analysis can be utilized to predict, in the long run, future stock structures of departments and thus, in the case where these structures diverge from the desired ones, identify departments that could be considered as candidates for probable rightsizing or mergers.
