In the context of primary education, students aged 11–12 years old begin to integrate digital devices and online behaviours that are more common and widespread at the secondary level. The objective of this study is to understand the factors that determine the initial digital ecosystem of students, and to evaluate the risks that these students face at a certain threshold age. The 356 participants in the sample completed a questionnaire designed ad hoc based on the findings of other studies with the same aim. The identified correlations and the regression equations obtained indicate, fundamentally, that two out of every three students who own a smartphone use it to communicate with family and friends. Furthermore, the use of mobile phones encourages young people to join and participate in social networks at an early age. The study also reveals that at this age, students use social networks mainly for the consumption of audiovisual content and not so much to share personal information of a critical nature. Finally, students in this particular age group are considered at a threshold age because they begin using smartphones regularly, making autonomous decisions without sufficient supervision regarding digital risks, thus becoming part of the Frontier Collective. - Abstract
To foster the sustainable development of culture, particularly focusing on the preservation of cultural heritage, encompassing relics, intangible cultural heritage, and historical sites, China has launched a strategy for the digitalization of culture, with the goal of establishing a holistic national big data framework for cultural resources. To improve the efficiency of collaborative supply of cultural resource big data among various parties and to further advance the sustainable development of culture, this research has created a cooperative model that includes cultural institutions, a cultural resource big data service platform, and government participation. Our research findings, based on prospect theory and evolutionary game theory combined with Chinese practice, are presented below. (1) Various factors, including the coefficient of digital infrastructure empowerment, access charges for digital infrastructure, government penalties, and the probability of data leakage, have varying effects on the system in different states. (2) Once the industry has developed, the government can increase the impact of digital infrastructure empowerment to create stronger incentives, rather than relying solely on rewards or penalties. (3) When the value level of cultural resource big data is high, the benefit distribution coefficient does not affect the system evolution results. Finally, we offer practical insights for the government, cultural organizations, and cultural resource big data service platforms based on our research results. Our research offers Chinese insights for global cultural sustainable development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aims to provide an ecosystem-inspired approach to digital transformation (DT) for sustainable innovations by reviewing state-of-the-art research. Focusing on DT innovation pathways for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a DT innovation roadmap incorporating various notions of ecosystems can thus be developed based on the findings in response to advancements in the “Helix” models of innovation and policy progress in green digital transformation.Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) protocol, a bibliographic search was conducted in the Web of Science (WoS) database. A bibliometric analysis was then performed, leading to various science mapping outcomes. The research findings suggest practical DT innovation pathways for stakeholders aiming to achieve SDGs and a DT innovation roadmap to assist researchers in navigating the evolving innovation landscape.Since 2007, research output has experienced rapid growth, especially after 2018, with active contributions from countries such as China, Australia, England, and Italy, as well as affiliations such as Guangzhou Nanfang College, Curtin University, and Harvard University. The findings, including a performance overview, a set of clustering analyses of concepts and themes, the conceptual and intellectual structure, and an SDG identification table, provide the basis for the proposed Green Digital Transformation (GDT) innovation roadmap with DT innovation pathways. This research is the first to conduct a bibliometric analysis and science mapping of the DT literature focusing on innovation and business ecosystems. The proposed GDT innovation roadmap outlines the usefulness of the concept of “ecosystem innovation,” integrating the natural ecosystem, ecosystem services, ecosystem economy, business ecosystem, innovation ecosystem, and digital ecosystems, thereby calling for the eco-design of DT strategies that foster alignment and partnership across sectors and disciplines.

The article is devoted to the problem of strategic management of business systems in which the functions of an orchestrator are performed by an enterprise in the ICT sector. The purpose of the study is to identify types of strategies for organizing entrepreneurial ecosystems and describe their features in the context of the development of the digital economy. During the research process, a selection of 100 IT companies that were leaders in terms of revenue for 2021–2023 was studied. and their growth. Cluster analysis methods were used to test ecosystem criteria in relation to the ICT sector, typology methods and the construction of descriptive models. Statistical analysis showed that despite the reduction in the number of enterprises, in modern conditions there has been a tendency to increase the share of enterprises in the ICT sector in the economy. During the study of a sample of IT companies – industry leaders, 5 clusters were formed, the most typical characteristics of which were used to identify distinctive features. It was found that 56% of the studied sample of IT enterprises become orchestrators for entrepreneurial ecosystems, which corresponds to clusters 1–4. As a result of the similarity analysis, it was determined that in practice the strategy of acceleration, partnership, integration and customer-oriented strategy is used. For each type of orchestrator strategy, models have been generated and key features have been identified. A customer-centric orchestrator strategy is the most preferable for rapid growth and scale-up. The results obtained have important practical significance for organizing ecosystems with the leading role of the IT company orchestrator and choosing the most effective strategy. In further research, it is necessary to identify specific management actions and tools that are applicable for each type. In continuation, it is necessary to assess the productivity of ecosystems, taking into account the types of strategies and highlighting their competitive advantages.

- Abstract
Digital transformation is a complex, multi‐level phenomenon that still challenges research and practice. Recent research has highlighted the influence of digital ecosystems on digital transformation, but we lack knowledge about how this relationship unfolds across the organisational and the ecosystem levels. Following a phenomenon‐based theorising approach and applying a digital resource‐based view, we present the OCO (orientation, cooperation, orchestration) theory of digital transformation. The OCO theory explains the relationship between an organisation's digital transformation and its integration into a digital ecosystem. We uncover and explain three interdependent mechanisms, that is, orientation, cooperation, and orchestration, that are set in motion by cross‐level interactions between the organisational and the ecosystem levels and that centre around digital resources. Our work advances the frontier of multi‐level digital transformation research explaining the influence of a digital ecosystem on digital transformation. We conclude through six propositions that the deeper its digital ecosystem integration, the more likely an organisation's digital transformation is effective. Therewith, we aim at mobilising future digital transformation research to bridge the organisational and the ecosystem levels and provide four future research themes. Our work also encourages practitioners to acknowledge and manage the influence of digital ecosystems on digital transformation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: With the growing complexity of organizational environments in both the private and public sectors, the need for inter-organizational cooperation has become increasingly important. Consequently, in recent decades, the concept of an ecosystem has been introduced to facilitate connections between organizations across various fields of management science. With the rapid development of Industry 4.0, various ecosystem combinations—such as innovation ecosystems and entrepreneurship ecosystems—have emerged. Among these, digital ecosystems represent a newer and rapidly evolving field that has garnered significant attention from researchers in recent years. The purpose of this study is to conduct a scientometric analysis and visualize a map of the knowledge structure, co-authorship network, and thematic clusters related to digital ecosystems within the field of management, as indexed in the Web of Science database.Methodology: This research is an applied study that employs common techniques in scientometrics, specifically co-occurrence analysis methods. To obtain the primary data, the keyword "digital ecosystem" was searched in the Web of Science database for the years 2000 to 2023. A total of 4,496 articles published in this database were analyzed as the statistical population. The data were analyzed using VOS Viewer and BibExcel software to extract the knowledge map and co-occurrence network. In this research, the authors' fields and indexers' keywords were utilized for synonym analysis. After retrieving the records, a total of 14,140 keywords were obtained from the 4,496 examined records for co-occurrence analysis. Of these, 1,173 frequent words, identified based on Bradford's law with a frequency of 5 or higher, were selected for co-word analysis.Findings: 14,140 keywords were identified in this analysis, with 1,173 instances exhibiting the same timing in the co-occurrence analysis of five words. The results of this six-cluster analysis indicate that the most recent emerging topics in 2021 are associated with a range of innovative information technologies, intelligent relationships, entrepreneurial ecosystems, digitalization, digital servitization, ecosystem architecture, and their impacts. The co-occurrence of the keywords shows the highest frequency in research related to the digital ecosystem from a management perspective. The United States, the United Kingdom, and China have made the most significant contributions to research on this topic. The findings reveal that Parida V. is the most active author, and the fields of computer science and information systems are recognized as the most prolific areas of study. Additionally, terms such as identified as the most frequently used keywords, which were categorized into six clusters based on their co-occurrence. An analysis of international collaboration revealed eight clusters, with the highest level of collaboration occurring in the first cluster, which includes 20 countries, while the least collaboration is observed in cluster eight, which comprises only three members. Conclusion: The scientometric study and analysis of the co-authorship network and thematic clusters related to the concept of the digital ecosystem from a management perspective, as sourced from the Web of Science database, revealed that 99.13% of the scientific documents in this field were published in English. The highest frequency of articles on this topic occurred in 2022, marking the peak of research in this area, particularly concerning the Fourth Industrial Revolution and emerging technologies. Based on the time series analysis, three distinct historical periods can be identified. The first period focuses on the design and initial planning of the ecosystem, while the second period encompasses themes such as management, innovation, dynamics, platforms, value creation, strategy, competition, and performance. In the third stage, the focus shifts to emerging information technologies, intelligent relationships, digitization, services, computer architecture, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The examination of the knowledge structure of the digital ecosystem from a managerial perspective indicates that it can serve as a roadmap for future research. Additionally, the analysis of the synonym network for the topic under investigation in the Web of Science database identified six thematic clusters: management of emerging technologies, innovation and entrepreneurship, co-creation, strategy, digital transformation, and networks. In countries' collaboration network, the United Kingdom has the highest number of collaborative links, followed by the United States, France, Spain, China, and Finland, which exhibit greater international collaboration than other nations. Meanwhile, the volume of documents published by Iran and its level of international collaboration warrant careful consideration. To enhance the country's development in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and leverage digital capabilities, Iran needs to reassess its international collaboration policies and actively participate in international scientific arenas to foster scientific growth and produce high-quality research publications.

The younger generations are exerting a profound influence on the future of the media. The current crisis of reputation facing traditional media is compelling those involved in the creation, production, and distribution of content to rethink the logic underpinning these processes. The consumption of entertainment and information via smartphones is becoming increasingly concentrated in screen devices and social platforms. In light of the particularities of a convergence of media and the characteristics of the digital sphere of users, it is necessary to investigate the information consumption habits and preferences of young university students towards conventional and digital media platforms, as well as social networks within the digital sphere. The objective of this research was to ascertain the news consumption habits of young university students in the context of the new digital landscape, characterised by the pervasiveness of connectivity and the ascendency of smartphones as the primary gateway to the internet. A survey of 1300 students was conducted in October 2023 to investigate their adoption, use, and consumption of traditional and digital media, as well as the devices they use and the importance of podcasts. The results, viewed through the lens of a specific ecosystem, such as that of Colombia, challenge prevailing stereotypes and suggest that younger generations continue to value traditional journalistic brands, potentially due to familial influence. The majority of content is accessed through screen devices and social media platforms. Despite the existence of prejudices, young people supplement their musical preferences with informational content and leisure and entertainment products.

This study explores the relationship between digital access, protection, and adoption in supporting technological entrepreneurship within national digital ecosystems. The study utilised PROCESS regression analysis on the Global Entrepreneurship Development Institute (GEDI)'s Digital Development Economy (DPE) Index 2020 dataset to examine selected digital factors' direct and indirect effects on entrepreneurial activity across 116 countries. While the relationship between digital access, adoption, protection, and technological entrepreneurship has been established in previous research, this study provides global evidence to reinforce this connection. However, digital protection did not significantly moderate the effect of digital access. Notably, digital adoption emerged as a significant mediator, influencing the impacts of both access and protection on entrepreneurial outcomes. This study emphasises the importance of understanding the complex relationships between digital factors in cultivating a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, offering valuable insights for policymakers and practitioners seeking to stimulate technological innovation and economic growth. Generation X musicians represent a transitional generation from the pre-digital to the digital era, having experience developing their musical identity and reputation in both. In the process of development, they use digital platforms to communicate directly with their audience and utilize digital technologies for music production, promotion, and distribution. They face the challenge of reconciling traditional approaches they used in the pre-digital era with the demands of the digital ecosystem. The research explores how Generation X musicians perceive the transition process in developing their musical identity using traditional and digital approach and what strategies they have adopted to keep relevance in the digital age. The results show that Generation X musicians use a combination of traditional and digital tools, with this integrated approach proving to be the best strategy for them as they feel nostalgic and question the quality and relevance of online visibility. Although they have digital skills, they still need to take full advantage of the digital ecosystem in building their digital identity, leaving room for further research in this area. Continuing previous autoethnographic research identifying the information and communication challenges musicians face when developing their digital identity, this study gives deeper insight on those challenges from the perspective of Generation X musicians and the difficulties they face when reconciling traditional musical practices with new digital opportunities. The input of this study is to contribute to the existing knowledge of the strategies musicians from various generations use to build digital identity, in particularly Generation X musicians, and to contribute to a better understanding of musician digital identity overall since there is a lack of research in this field. Contemporary healthcare is marked by continuous technological advancements, a shift toward patient-centric care and preventive medicine, efforts to enhance accessibility, and challenges such as rising costs, data privacy concerns, and workforce deficits. Within this dynamic landscape, pivotal areas in healthcare include precision medicine and genomics, telemedicine, robotic-assisted surgery, medical imaging, and immersive training. Realizing the benefits of digital technologies demands a systematic approach that addresses both the opportunities and obstacles inherent in digital transformation. Maturity models play a vital role in assisting organizations to evaluate their readiness, establish strategic priorities, and track progress over time. By assessing essential dimensions, these models empower healthcare providers to align digital initiatives with overarching business goals and patient needs. Such initiatives not only accelerate innovation but also foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in healthcare delivery. This paper examines the significance of maturity models in guiding digital transformation initiatives within the healthcare domain. Utilizing a real-life scenario and the application of one of the described models, it delves into the major attributes of a holistic digital maturity model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In Spain, specialist outpatient care traditionally relied on in-person consultations at public hospitals, leading to long wait times and limited clinical analysis in appointment assignments. However, the emergence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) has transformed patient care, creating a seamless healthcare ecosystem. At the Allergy Department, we aimed to share our experience in transitioning form a traditional linear model of patient flow across different healthcare levels to the implementation of a digital ecosystem. By telemedicine, we can prioritize individuals based on clinical relevance, promptly and efficiently addressing potentially life-threatening conditions such as severe uncontrolled asthma or hymenoptera venom anaphylaxis. Furthermore, our adoption of telephone consultations has markedly reduced the need for in-person hospital visits, while issues with unstable patients are swiftly addressed via WhatsApp. This innovative approach not only enhances efficiency but also facilitates the dissemination of personalized medical information through various channels, contributing to public awareness and education, particularly regarding allergies. Concerns related to confidentiality, data privacy, and the necessity for informed consent must thoroughly be addressed. Also, to ensure the success of ICT integration, it is imperative to focus on the quality of educational information, its efficient dissemination, and anticipate potential unforeseen consequences. Sharing experiences across diverse health frameworks and medical specialties becomes crucial in refining these processes, drawing insights from the collective experiences of others. This collaborative effort aims to contribute to the ongoing development of a more effective and sustainable healthcare system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In recent years, digital platforms in agriculture went through a phase of acquisitions and consolidation, where big players like agrochemical companies (Agrichems) and agricultural equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worked on expanding their technology stacks to build strategic portfolios of digital service offerings. To operate farm equipment efficiently, a combination of platforms and technologies is often needed, leading to the emergence of digital Agri-ecosystems. With the rising implementation of IoT technology, digital Agri-ecosystems enable multi-layer digital services and break down established categories (cloud-based and embedded). Content providers and developers creating those digital services face three options: aggregated cloud APIs (application programming interfaces), engineering service providers with proprietary technology stacks, and dedicated IoT ecosystems offering agnostic end-to-end workflows for development and deployment (first known example: NEVONEX). It is not yet fully understood how using an end-to-end IoT ecosystem changes developer requirements in comparison to existing solutions. Therefore, in this study, an example of a multi-layer digital service is developed and tested. Expert interviews (n = 21) explore relevant developer experiences and requirements. A consecutive survey (n = 30; NEVONEX developer conference) validates the findings. Results show that IoT- ecosystems speed up development and deployment cycles, save resources, and improve interoperability in operations. Engineering service providers remain very important players. Partner management, communication, abstraction of interfaces, testing infrastructure, and early end-user input are required by developers. In conclusion, IoT- ecosystems are beneficial for multi-layer digital service development; however, to fully satisfy developers and content providers, adjustments to platform functionalities and better testing opportunities on real farms are needed. - Abstract
ESA's Design 2 produces cross-cutting initiative includes digitalisation, process automation, interoperability, and harnessing smart embedded sensors to achieve a seamless data cycle (SDC). The SDC in digital engineering covers requirements and design, production, assembly, integration, and testing as well as in-flight operations including recycling. Nevertheless, central data and legal challenges lie in the joint research addressed Europe-wide (geo-return) and the partner network constraints covering agency, large system integrator (LSI), research and development (R&D), and high-tech SME interests. Either way, a legal enabler for digitization of the European space business can be seen in ESA's strict compliance policy with regard to the acceptance of their general terms and conditions. In fact, it is reasonable to assume that ESA declares data to be a common deliverable in the future and that the contractors accept this too. However, there are technical challenges like portability, interoperability, interconnectivity, and the need for a federated infrastructure, while all these aspects have to be solved across company and national borders. The European Gaia-X project tackles the aforementioned challenges while targeting an open, transparent, and secure digital ecosystem in which data are stored, processed, and used while retaining data sovereignty. This paper deepens these framework conditions, addresses them from the perspective of real space applications, and presents key opportunities and challenges at the implementation level. Moreover, it shows how the seamless data cycle contributes to increase freedom of design, improve overall performance, and reduce cost and lead time from concept to manufacturing while creating new high-performance space products. A musician develops digital identity within the digital ecosystem across various music platforms, generating unique music content and engaging in communication with the audience. In this process, the musician plays the role of a co-creator of the digital ecosystem, becoming established as an artist, communicating with the audience, and distributing music. The digital ecosystem undergoes significant structural changes due to the continuous development of new digital communication tools for creative music production, promotion, and distribution, placing independent musician in the demanding position of mastering multidisciplinary skills that go beyond music production, including understanding of information and communication technology and the importance of public relations in the digital environment. The aim of this research is to explore the challenges that independent musicians face in developing their digital identity in relation to their understanding of information and communication technology and the management of public relations within the digital ecosystem. The research applies a qualitative methodology through autoethnography research based on personal experiences of developing digital identity of an independent musician entrepreneur through the process of releasing a digital album during the 2021-2023 period. Six key information and communication challenges that musician encounters in developing digital identity are identified, and corresponding public relations activities are proposed. Considering that the current research is insufficiently dedicated to the challenges faced by independent musicians who enthusiastically work on their music careers in the digital environment, this study contributes to the development of musician's digital identity as a co-creator of the digital ecosystem as well as to further research in the field of media and communication. Relevance. Development of digital ecosystems has accelerated significantly over the past three to five years, driven by global economic, social, and technological changes. Digital platforms took the lead in sales and capitalization in areas such as advertising, entertainment, trade, communications, information technology and significantly changed the financial and tourism sectors. However, the scientific literature lacks an economic analysis of the leading digital ecosystems, presenting only a description of their business models, which does not fully allows noting the key peaks of economic activity and compare the level of success. Aim. To review theoretical approaches to the management of digital ecosystems and conduct a comparative analysis of owners of leading digital ecosystems on affordable economic indicators. Methods. Methodological basis of the study is the concept of economic ecosystems and management theory. We use in the article the methods of structural-logical and comparative analysis. We analyze the Fortune 500 and Interbrand databases. Results. We considered scientific publications on the theme of digital ecosystems management with allocation of levels and objects, underling the owner role, and provides analysis of the main economic indicators of the world leading digital ecosystems in b2c and b2b-segments. Our results allowed identifying the leaders on several indicators, including the brand value. The assessment across several parameters identified Apple as a business model demonstrating better results in the digital ecosystem category. With comparable sales, Amazon, Google, Alibaba, and Meta (An organization banned in Russia whose activities are recognized as extremist) products lag in both capitalization and brand value. B2b ecosystems are less profitable than b2c, but tend to grow more steadily. We examined the need for a deeper assessment of each digital ecosystem at the level of its owner, platform, and participants.
