The objective of this study is to gather additional on the impact of perlite on both the mechanical properties and resistance to chemical attacks of materials. Various combinations ,incorporating perlite in the form of cement additions, were examined. Five different substitution rates of 10 %, 15 %, 20 %, 25 %,and 30 % of cement with powder perlite were utilized for comparison with plain cement. The findings indicate that the interaction between lime,silica,and alumina in powder perlite results in the formation of several hydrates, such as calcium silicate hydrate, hydrated calcium aluminates,and hydrated gelhenite.Our research focuses on the development of natural perlite from maghnia as a potentially pozzolanic supplementary cementing material. In evaluating the pozzolanicity of this material, it was observed that external aggressions, such as chlorides, CO2, and chemical attacks, can compromise the physical and mechanical properties of concrete,affecting its long-term durability. However,natural pozzolans like pelite exhibit a positive influence on the durability of mortars against sulphate attacks. Test results revealed specimens with no apparent degradation, indicating that sulphate ions in the solution did not adversely affect perlite-based mortars. There is a growing preference for mineral additives with lower production costs than cement. Consequently, the optimal mixture was determined to be one containing 25 % perlite. However, cement pastes and mortars incorporating up to 20 % perlite demonstrated satisfactory physical and mechanical properties, comparable to materials without perlite. The investigation into the perlite materials used in conjunction with cement suggests the potential for sustainable concrete. Experimental results indicate that natural perlite powder from Maghnia can be considered a good pozzolanic material, suitable as a mineral admixture in cement production.

This study aims to determine the knowledge of the role of knowledge management in improving the internal work environment; and to stop at the extent to which the technological developments used to improve the performance of employees of the sports institution, by facilitating and simplifying work procedures, achieving effectiveness and acquiring knowledge and skills; and also aims to know the contribution of knowledge management to decision-making work by making changes in the direction of decisions, re-studying them and the speed of data acquisition. To achieve the objectives of this study, we used the appropriate descriptive analytical approach to the subject of the research by highlighting the role of knowledge management in improving the internal work environment of the sports organization in Algeria. The sample of the study was from a sample of those in charge of running the Directorate of Youth and Sports Foundation for the state of Tebessa from heads and subordinates of various interests, where their number reached (75) framework and worker in the institution and we took a sample of 25 workers and to collect data we used the questionnaire and analyzed it through the statistical program SPSS, and we got the results that interest in knowledge management has become an urgent necessity to keep pace with the rapid development in various sciences, which is the permanent and specific source that works to achieve the internal work environment and successful and effective in sports institutions.

El artículo contiene un análisis del Servicio de Atención Emergente a Víctimas indirectas de homicidio, desaparición y feminicidio (SAAEV) desarrollado por el gobierno municipal de Salamanca, Guanajuato en México entre el año 2021 y 2024. Este programa es único a nivel municipal por los retos que impone a la administración pública. El objetivo es describir sus principales características, contexto de violencia donde surgió, perfil de los usuarios e identificación de sus principales problemas. La intención es someterlo a un grupo de investigadores expertos de la Red Internacional ALEC para proponer un conjunto de recomendaciones, asesoría y apoyo en la construcción de políticas públicas replicables con impacto social.

Abstract Entosis is a process that leads to the formation of cell-in-cell structures commonly found in cancers. Here, we identified entosis in hepatocellular carcinoma and the loss of Rnd3 (also known as RhoE) as an efficient inducer of this mechanism. We characterized the different stages and the molecular regulators of entosis induced after Rnd3 silencing. We demonstrated that this process depends on the RhoA/ROCK pathway, but not on E-cadherin. The proteomic profiling of entotic cells allowed us to identify LAMP1 as a protein upregulated by Rnd3 silencing and implicated not only in the degradation final stage of entosis, but also in the full mechanism. Moreover, we found a positive correlation between the presence of entotic cells and the metastatic potential of tumors in human patient samples. Altogether, these data suggest the involvement of entosis in liver tumor progression and highlight a new perspective for entosis analysis in medicine research as a novel therapeutic target.

The actuel challenges focuses on the enhancement of resources and biodiversity for the Algerian flora, It primoedial to give more of interest to the endemic species, wich remain rarely explored despite the fact they face the imminent risk of extinction. In this study, we aimed to characteris the phytochemical and pharmacological of the volatile fraction of the Salvia chudaei Batt and Trab aerial pieces. This is an endemic species of central Sahara. To the best knowledge of the authors, our study is aismong the first to study such species. Essential oil extraction was performed by hydro distillation accompanied by chromatographic CG/MS study. The antioxidant strength of this essential oil was determined by the DPPH Test (2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl); FRAP Test (Ferric Reducing Ability of Plasma) and peroxidation of linoleic acid test. The antimicrobial activity was processed by method of diffusion in solid media and the determination of the minimum inhibitory concentration. It was tested on 12 bacterial strains (Gram, Gram +), two yeasts and two fungal strains. The main results obtained by CG/MS analysis counts a total of 26 compounds which isobornyl acetate, alpha pinen, elemol and trans-caryophyllene are described as majore elements. The essential oil demonstrated a notable inhibition of the growth of Gram + tested bacteria, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterococus faecalis and Sarcina lutea. The minimum CMI inhibitors found varying from 0.5 to 2.5 mg. Interestingly, the essential oil didn’t shown any significant action on Gram- bacteria. The analysis of the antioxidant power revealed a strong anti-radical potential (IC50 = 932.1 μg/ml), high peroxide inhibition (91.7 %) and modest reductive power (59.96 %). The results indicated that essential oil of Salvia chudaei has a significant potential as an antimicrobial and antioxidant agent applicable in the pharmaceutical and agri-food fields.

The present paper reports on the effect of substrate temperature on the physical properties of zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films deposited using spray-pyrolysis technique. The films exhibit a polycrystalline nature with a preferred orientation along [002]. Furthermore, the average crystallites size increases with increasing the substrate temperature. The scanning electron microscopy results showed that the films were evenly distributed and homogeneous. The average optical transmittance varies in the range of 62 to 90% depending on the substrate temperature. On the other hand, with increasing the substrate temperature, the absorption coefficient decreases and the optical band gap varies in the range of 3.25 - 3.28 eV. The electrical conductivity of films varies between 18 and 58 mS.cm-1.

The interaction between a plasma and a solid surface is studied in a (1D–1V) kinetic framework using a localized particle and convective energy source. Matching the quasineutral plasma region and sheath horizon is addressed in the fluid framework with a zero heat flux closure. It highlights non-polytropic nature of the physics of parallel transport. Shortfalls of this approach compared to a reference kinetic simulation highlight the importance of the heat flux as the measure of kinetic effects. Non-collisional closure and higher moment closure are used to determine the sound velocity. Within these frameworks, no gain in the fluid predictive capability is obtained. The kinetic constraint at the sheath horizon is discussed and modified to account for conditions that are actually met in simulations, namely quasineutrality with a small but finite charge density. Analyzing the distribution functions shows that collisional transfer is mandatory to achieve steady-state self-organization on the open field lines.

The interaction between a plasma and a solid surface is studied in a (1D-1V) kinetic approach using immersed boundary conditions and penalization to model the wall. Two solutions for the penalized wall region are investigated that either allow currents to flow within the material boundary or not. Essential kinetic aspects of sheath physics are recovered in both cases and their parametric dependencies investigated. Importantly, we show how the two approaches can be reconciled when accounting for relevant kinetic effects. Non-Maxwellian features of the ion and electron distribution functions are essential to capture the value of the potential drop in the sheath. These features lead to a sheath heat transmission factor for ions 60% larger than usually predicted and 35% for electrons. The role of collisions is discussed and means of incorporating minimally-relevant kinetic sheath physics in the gyrokinetic framework are discussed.

A reduced model for trapped electron mode stability has been developed, which incorporates the basic effects of magnetic surface shaping, in particular, elongation and triangularity. This model shows that while elongation is stabilising, though weakly, negative triangularity usually leads to a more unstable plasma. This is in marked contrast with the experimental evidence of a better confinement at negative triangularity, and with recent gyrokinetic linear simulations. This paradox is solved when finite orbit and/or finite mode extent along field lines (mode ballooning) effects are included. These effects give more weight to particles trapped at low bounce angles, which are those that exhibit lower precession frequencies at negative—compared to positive—triangularity. As a result, the interchange growth rate becomes lower at negative triangularity and large temperature gradients, so that negative triangularity appears to have an overall stabilising effect. Mode ballooning appears to play the most important role in this reversal of stability.

The mission of WEST (tungsten-W Environment in Steady-state Tokamak) is to explore long pulse operation in a full tungsten (W) environment for preparing next-step fusion devices (ITER and DEMO) with a focus on testing the ITER actively cooled W divertor in tokamak conditions. Following the successful completion of phase 1 (2016-2021), phase 2 started in December 2022 with the lower divertor made entirely of actively cooled ITER-grade tungsten mono-blocks. A boronization prior the first plasma attempt allowed for a smooth startup with the new divertor. Despite the reduced operating window due to tungsten, rapid progress has been made in long pulse operation, resulting in discharges with a pulse length of 100 s and an injected energy of around 300 MJ per discharge. Plasma startup studies were carried out with equatorial boron nitride limiters to compare them with tungsten limiters, while Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating assisted startup was attempted. High fluence operation in attached regime, which was the main thrust of the first campaigns, already showed the progressive build up of deposits and appearance of dust, impacting the plasma operation as the plasma fluence increased. In total, the cumulated injected energy during the first campaigns reached 43 GJ and the cumulated plasma time exceeded 5 h. Demonstration of controlled X-Point Radiator regime is also reported, opening a promising route for investigating plasma exhaust and plasma-wall interaction issues in more detached regime. This paper summarises the lessons learned from the manufacturing and the first operation of the ITER-grade divertor, describing the progress achieved in optimising operation in a full W environment with a focus on long pulse operation and plasma wall interaction.

As a part of prospecting bioactive molecules from natural resources, the phytochemical composition and antioxidant properties of extracts of leaves and berries oilcake of Pistacia lentiscus L., collected from two sites (Mechat and Bordj-Ali) in the northeast region of Algeria, were investigated. Dried leaves and berries oilcake obtained after removing the oily part by mean of Soxhlet apparatus were macerated in methanol in order to recover their respective active extracts. The phytochemical content analysis showed that lentisk leaves of both sites were relatively rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, flavonols and proanthocyanidins. The phytochemical content of berries oilcake extract was lower than that of leaves, yet, samples of Bordj-Ali displayed higher values for all assayed phytochemicals compared to those of Mechat. The P. lentiscus leaves extract exhibited a strong radical-scavenging activity (IC50 = 10.46 µg/mL) against 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radicals and a substantial inhibitory activity against H2O2 free radicals (20.23 - 25.92%). Furthermore, these extracts displayed a very strong reducing power (EC50 = 28.08 µg/mL) and total antioxidant capacity (104.07 - 159.39 mg EAA/g DW). The observed results correlated positively with total phytochemical content strongly plead in favor of valorization of this wild plant as a potential natural source of active biomolecules for food, cosmetics, and medicinal industry sectors.

Background & Aims: β-catenin is a well-known effector of the Wnt pathway, and a key player in cadherin-mediated cell adhesion. Oncogenic mutations of β-catenin are very frequent in paediatric liver primary tumours. Those mutations are mostly heterozygous, which allows the co-expression of wild-type (WT) and mutated β-catenins in tumour cells. We investigated the interplay between WT and mutated β-catenins in liver tumour cells, and searched for new actors of the β-catenin pathway. Methods: Using an RNAi strategy in β-catenin-mutated hepatoblastoma (HB) cells, we dissociated the structural and transcriptional activities of β-catenin, which are carried mainly by WT and mutated proteins, respectively. Their impact was characterised using transcriptomic and functional analyses. We studied mice that develop liver tumours upon activation of β-catenin in hepatocytes (APCKO and β-cateninΔexon3 mice). We used transcriptomic data from mouse and human HB specimens, and used immunohistochemistry to analyse samples. Results: We highlighted an antagonistic role of WT and mutated β-catenins with regard to hepatocyte differentiation, as attested by alterations in the expression of hepatocyte markers and the formation of bile canaliculi. We characterised fascin-1 as a transcriptional target of mutated β-catenin involved in tumour cell differentiation. Using mouse models, we found that fascin-1 is highly expressed in undifferentiated tumours. Finally, we found that fascin-1 is a specific marker of primitive cells including embryonal and blastemal cells in human HBs. Conclusions: Fascin-1 expression is linked to a loss of differentiation and polarity of hepatocytes. We present fascin-1 as a previously unrecognised factor in the modulation of hepatocyte differentiation associated with β-catenin pathway alteration in the liver, and as a new potential target in HB. Impact and implications: The FSCN1 gene, encoding fascin-1, was reported to be a metastasis-related gene in various cancers. Herein, we uncover its expression in poor-prognosis hepatoblastomas, a paediatric liver cancer. We show that fascin-1 expression is driven by the mutated beta-catenin in liver tumour cells. We provide new insights on the impact of fascin-1 expression on tumour cell differentiation. We highlight fascin-1 as a marker of immature cells in mouse and human hepatoblastomas.

This research studied the effect of recycled steel fibers extracted from twisted cable waste on the fresh and hardened states of high-performance concretes. Accordingly, slump, water absorption (WA), compressive strength (CS), flexural strength (FS), and split tensile strength (STS) were measured in the laboratory using mixtures generated by the response surface methodology (RSM). The RSM-based central composite design (CCD) was used to assess the influence of water-to-binder (W/B) ratios from 0.27 to 0.31, length-to-diameter (L/d = 46 to 80) and steel fiber content (SFC) in the range of 19 to 29 kg/m3 on the behavior of high-performance fiber-reinforced concrete (HPFRC). The accuracy and validation of the generated models were evaluated by employing analysis of variance (ANOVA) and optimal parameters. The experimental findings revealed that the use of an L/d ratio of 63, a W/B ratio of approximately 0.28, and an SFC of around 22 kg/m3 resulted in high workability in terms of slump. While a notable increase in compressive strength was observed when employing an L/d ratio of approximately 70, a W/B ratio of around 0.28, and the maximum SFC of 29 kg/m3, as confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis.
