Abstract

Cet article présente une méthode pour représenter et mesurer la pertinence de données expérimentales extraites d’articles scientifiques. Dans le domaine étudié, les emballages alimentaires, le nombre de documents est réduit et ceux-ci contiennent un vocabulaire spécifique. Nous utilisons une Ressource Termino-ontologique (RTO) pour guider l’extraction, les approches par apprentissage n’étant pas adaptées à la taille du corpus. La RTO définit les entités d’intérêt et les décrits à travers un vocabulaire. Les informations recherchées sont liées aux relations de perméabilité et sont de deux types : symboliques (i.e. une expression lexicale) et quantitatives (i.e. une valeur numérique et son unité de mesure).Les documents contiennent un grand nombre de faux-positifs dû à la présence d’informations n’étant pas liées à la perméabilité des emballages (par exemple, un nom d’emballage cité à titre de comparaison ou une température autre que le paramètre de contrôle de la mesure de perméabilité). Dans ce contexte, nous proposons ici une méthode complète et originale qui intègre une représentation multi-descripteurs des entités extraites permettant de calculer et combiner des scores de pertinence.

17. Food packaging permeability and composition dataset dedicated to text-mining

Abstract

This dataset is composed of symbolic and quantitative entities concerning food packaging composition and gas permeability. It was created from 50 scientific articles in English registered in html format from several international journals on the ScienceDirect website. The files were annotated independently by three experts on a WebAnno server. The aim of the annotation task was to recognize all entities related to packaging permeability measures and packaging composition. This annotation task is driven by an Ontological and Terminological Resource (OTR). An annotation guideline was designed in a collective and iterative approach involving the annotators. This dataset can be used to train or evaluate natural language processing (NLP) approaches in experimental fields, such as specialized entity recognition (e.g. terms and variations, units of measure, complex numerical values) or sentence level binary relation (e.g. value to unit, term to acronym).

Abstract

Le travail présenté dans cet article se situe dans le cadre de l'identification de termes spécialisés (unités de mesure) à partir de données textuelles pour enrichir une Ressource Termino-Ontologique (RTO). La première étape de notre méthode consiste à prédire la localisation des variants d'unités de mesure dans les documents. Nous avons utilisé une méthode reposant sur l'apprentissage supervisé. Cette méthode permet de réduire sensiblement l'espace de recherche des variants tout en restant dans un contexte optimal de recherche (réduction de 86% de l'espace de recherché sur le corpus étudié). La deuxième étape du processus, une fois l'espace de recherche réduit aux variants d'unités, utilise une nouvelle mesure de similarité permettant d'identifier automatiquement les variants découverts par rapport à un terme d'unité déjà référencé dans la RTO avec un taux de précision de 82% pour un seuil au dessus de 0.6 sur le corpus étudié.

Abstract

In this paper, we show the different steps of an annotation process that allows one to annotate data tables with the relations of a domain ontology. The columns of a table are first segregated according to whether they represent numeric or symbolic data. Then, we annotate the numeric columns with their corresponding numeric type, and the symbolic columns with their corresponding symbolic type, combining different evidences from the ontology. Abstract

The MIEL++ system integrates data expressed in two different formalisms: a relational database and an XML database. The XML database is filled with data semi-automatically retrieved from the Web, which have been semantically enriched according to the ontology used in the relational database. These data may be imprecise and represented as possibility distributions. The MIEL++ querying system scans the two databases simultaneously in a transparent way for the end-user. To scan the XML database, the MIEL query is translated into an XML tree query. In this paper, we propose to introduce flexibility into the query processing of the XML database, in order to take into account the imperfections due to the semantic enrichment of its data. This flexibility relies on fuzzy queries and query rewriting which consists in generating a set of approximate queries from an original query using three transformation techniques: deletion, renaming and insertion of query nodes. Abstract

This paper presents a new ontology mapping method. This method addresses the case in which a non-structured ontology is to be mapped with a structured one. Both ontologies are composed of triplets of the form (object, characteristic, value). Structured means that the values describing the objects according to a given characteristic are hierarchically organized using the a kind of relation. The proposed method uses fuzzy conceptual graphs [8] to represent and map objects from a source ontology to a target one. First, we establish a correspondence between characteristics of the source ontology and characteristics of the target ontology based on the comparison of their associated values. Then, we propose an original way of translating the description of an object of the source ontology using characteristics and values of the target ontology. The description thus translated is represented as a fuzzy conceptual graph. Finally, a new projection operation is used to find mappings between translated objects and actual objects of the target ontology. This method has been implemented and the results of an experimentation concerning the mapping of ontologies in the field of risk in food are presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article presents a data warehouse used for risk assessment in food products. The experimental data stored in this warehouse are heterogeneous, they may be imprecise; the data warehouse itself is incomplete by nature. The MIEL++ system - which is partially commercialized - is composed of three databases which are queried simultaneously, and which are expressed in three different data models: the relational model, the Conceptual Graph model and XML. Those models have been extended in order to allow the representation of fuzzy values. In the MIEL++ language, used to query the data warehouse, the end-users can express preferences in their queries by means of fuzzy sets. Abstract

RÉSUMÉ. Nous proposons dans cet article une méthode d'extraction d'instances de relations n- aires dans un texte guidée par une Ressource Termino-Ontologique (RTO) de domaine. Une RTO est une ressource comportant une composante conceptuelle (l'ontologie) et une compo- sante terminologique (la terminologie), dans laquelle les termes sont distingués des concepts qu'ils dénotent. L'ontologie permet la modélisation de relations n-aires, reliant des arguments pouvant être des concepts symboliques et des quantités. La méthode proposée s'applique aux relations n-aires formulées de façon implicite dans le texte et dont les instances d'arguments peuvent être exprimées à travers différentes phrases du texte.
