In order to compare the relative traffic safety between different traffic organization schemes in weaving area of suburban expressways, a risk assessment method based on traffic conflict technology was established based on the TTC of collision time calibrated by domestic data. Taking the safety evaluation of the weaving area of a suburban expressway as an example, the safety status of different traffic organization schemes in the weaving area is compared and the recommended scheme is put forward. It can be seen that reasonable traffic organization can significantly reduce the traffic conflict rate in weaving area, standardize traffic order, and improve safety level. It also verifies the effectiveness of the traffic risk assessment method based on TTC in weaving area. Fund project: National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) (51508248).
