Abstract

Exosomes have emerged as a promising tool for the delivery of drugs and genetic materials, owing to their biocompatibility and non-immunogenic nature. However, challenges persist in achieving successful oral delivery due to their susceptibility to degradation in the harsh gastrointestinal (GI) environment and impeded transport across the mucus-epithelium barrier. To overcome these challenges, we have developed high-purity bovine milk exosomes (mExo) as a scalable and efficient oral drug delivery system, which can be customized by incorporating hydrophilic and zwitterionic motifs on their surface. In our study, we observed significantly improved transport rates by 2.5–4.5-fold in native porcine intestinal mucus after the introduction of hydrophilic and zwitterionic surface modifications, as demonstrated by transwell setup and fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) analysis. Remarkably, mExo functionalized by a block peptide (BP), consisting of cationic and anionic amino acids arranged in blocks at the two ends, demonstrated superior tolerability in the acidic gastric environment (with a protein recovery rate of 84.8 ± 7.7%) and exhibited a 2.5-fold increase in uptake by intestinal epithelial cells. Furthermore, both mExo and mExo-BP demonstrated successful intracellular delivery of functional siRNA, resulting in up to 65% suppression of the target green fluorescence protein (GFP) gene expression at a low dose of siRNA (5 pmol) without causing significant toxicity. These findings highlight the immense potential of modifying mExo with hydrophilic and zwitterionic motifs for effective oral delivery of siRNA therapies.

Abstract

For high-frequency AC power distribution systems, this study introduces a new multilevel inverter topology. Compared to other existing multilevel inverter, the suggested technology produces a staircase waveform with a higher number of output voltage levels with higher frequency. In the proposed system, the total number of switches and sources that used are extremely low. The harmonic content of the output voltage waveform is reduced as the number of levels increases. The type of multilevel inverter used in this paper is a cascaded multilevel inverter. To maximize the number of voltage levels, H-bridge configuration is proposed with three asymmetrical voltage sources as input with three diodes for construction. The output of the proposed topology can generate 15-level high-frequency voltage waveforms.

The most vital condition for conducting any system's power system analysis is load flow. The load flow shows the voltage in the branches and buses, actual and reactive power generated and absorbed, and losses in the lines of the system. The examination or evaluation of an electrical system to identify the quantity of currents that can flow during an electrical defect is known as short circuit analysis. It offers the information needed to establish whether the power system components' interrupting capacities are sufficient to secure your power system. This information is also utilised to determine the correct sizing of safety relays and sensing devices. The data used in the investigation was all collected in real time from the 132/33 kv Mawlai Nongkwar substation. The analysis is carried out using the Electrical Transient Analyzer application (ETAP), a software program which incorporates a thorough load flow and short circuit.

Electrically commutated brushless DC motors are brushless DC motors. The synchronous motor's speed and torque are controlled by the controller's current pulses, which are sent to the motor windings. An external permanent magnet motor, three-phase driving coils, and one or more Hall effect sensors to sense the position of the motor and the drive electronics make up a BLDC motor. BLDC motors are very efficient because a lot of torque is produced across a wide speed range. Permanent magnets don't require an electrical connection to the armature because they revolve around a stationary armature. Electronic transportation has a wide range of options and adaptability. The motor is renowned for its quiet operation and maintaining torque when it is stationary.

Abstract

Every person needs a system today that transfers power very effectively. One of those systems that has grown into a very busy research area in recent years is wireless power transmission. A wireless power system optimizes efficiency by lowering power loss while transferring power without the use of cables. In order to show wireless power transfer, an LED is positioned as a glowing application. The transmitting coil in this system's design connects the led to the reception coil. Power is sent through the transmitting coil to the receiver coil whenever the receiver coil is brought close to the transmitting coil, and voltage is obtained from the battery that is charged by the solar panel and transported to the power supply board. The transmitter coil is activated when RFID is swiped, and the voltage transfer is visible with the aid of an LED thanks to resonant inductive coupling. The HOMER software monitors the study of battery and solar power output.

Abstract

In the current study, finger millets (Eleusine coracana) served as the raw material to assess the impacts of malting and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum -mediated fermentation. Post-fermentation analysis revealed a substantial elevation in the concentration of 5-methyltetrahdrofolate (5-MTHF) (bioactive form of folate) in the fermented samples, UM-F (unmalted and fermented) and M-F (malted and fermented) with 137.28 and 147.84 μg/100g, respectively. Furthermore, malting followed by fermentation collectively reduced the spiked pesticides, lindane, and chlorpyrifos from the original concentration of 330.83 ppb and 295.12 ppb in the UM-UF (unmalted and unfermented) samples to 44.44 ppb (86.53% decrease) and 12.13 ppb (95.88% decrease), respectively. In silico investigation envisaged the role of two enzymes, alcohol dehydrogenase and alkaline phosphatase of L. plantarum in the disintegration of lindane and chlorpyrifos, respectively which was subsequently validated by quantifying the enzymes in the fermentation medium (alkaline phosphatase obtained in M-F was 1.60 U/mL and the alcohol dehydrogenase produced was 44.02 U/mg protein). Biochemical analyses, thermal gravimetric analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction studies reported significant transformations among the samples, UM-UF, UM-F, M-UF (malted and unfermented millet), and M-F, which indicates the role of malting and fermentation and the enzymes involved in the processes. Abstract

Renewable energy has grown in popularity in recent years as a solution to combat the effects of pollution on the environment. The main purpose of this research is to design a microgrid system in Lakshadweep Island to determine the cost and dependability of a solar photovoltaic system that is combined with biomass, wind energy and diesel generator. Two types of hybrid systems like solar/biomass generator/wind turbine and Solar/diesel generator/biomass are investigated to get an optimal solution using HOMER Pro software. The hybrid microgrid system is optimized with low cost of energy (COE) and less environmental pollution. The reliability indice like unmet load is determined for each case to access the performance of the system. The influence of different Weibull shape parameter in solar/biomass generator/wind turbine hybrid system with sensitive variation of solar irradiation and wind speed are discussed. The scheduling of diesel generator in solar/diesel generator/biomass generator with various scenarios are analyzed based on minimum net present cost. The optimization results shows that the solar/diesel generator/biomass hybrid system has low net present cost of 432513 $ and cost of energy of 0.215 $/kWh as compared to solar/biomass/wind turbine for the selected site location. The proposed solar/diesel generator/biomass system produces emission of 7506 kg/yr. The emission produced in Lakshadweep Island using the proposed model is reduced since this Island currently produces electricity mainly with diesel generators. Abstract

A new approach for single phase grid interconnected PV module with SEPIC converter is introduced in this paper. As the outcome of PV is low voltage DC, a suitable converter is needed to boost the voltage. Hence SEPIC converter is used as it has high voltage gain with same polarity in the input as well as output side. A closed loop control is executed with a PI controller tuned with Cuckoo search (CS) algorithm. As the traditional tuning of PI controller results in peak overshoot problems, Cuckoo search (CS) based Optimization is utilized as it is simple with has a smaller number of tuning parameters. This output is being fed to the grid through a single phase VSI and the grid synchronization is accomplished by PI controller by analogizing the actual and reference values of power. Abstract

The output of wind and the solar system is not constant; it is difficult to access the adequacy of the system. The Generation model is developed for 240 MW of different generation units in the Roy Billinton Test System (RBTS). Then a multi-state wind and solar generation model is developed based on different solar radiation and wind speed to evaluate the probability of the states. In this work, the wind and solar systems are studies for separate locations with each consist of 8 MW, 18 MW, 28 MW, and 38 MW generation capacities. This wind and solar generation model are applied to Roy Billinton Test System (RBTS) to evaluate the reliability indices like Loss of Load Expectation (LOLE). Based on the development of the MATLAB program for determining reliability indices, the capacity outage probability is developed for multiple solar and wind states. Based on standard load forecasting and the Time Series Load forecasting technique, the reliability of the system is analyzed. The results reveal the variation of risk indices in the system when additional generators are incorporated into the RBTS generation system. Abstract

Congestion management plays an important role in the operation, control, and safety of the grid. This paper proposes the multiverse optimization (MVO) algorithm for the congestion management of the IEEE 30 bus system, aiming to identify line congestion, and eliminate it at the minimum congestion price (i.e., the minimum loss). The continuation power flow (CPF) mechanism is adopted to analyze the voltage stability and maximum load capacity of the grid. The MVO algorithm helps to boost the voltage with a photovoltaic (PV) device, whenever the grid became unstable. The optimal position of the device is found through six iterations, and the fitness function is found capable of maximizing loading parameters, while minimizing power loss. The new approach is evaluated under different operating conditions, namely, in the presence of an MVO-tuned PV grid, and in the absence of a PV grid.
