This study discusses the fight against corruption through bureaucratic reform. It argues that in addition to criminal action, corruption eradication efforts must also, and more importantly involve bureaucratic reform to ease public services and hold public officials accountable for their actions. Corruption has always been one of the major issues facing not only the Indonesian economy but also every branch of the Indonesian government. Concerned by the devastating impact of corruption on the people of Indonesia along with its economy, Law No. 30/2002 on Corruption was passed which allows for the creation of the Corruption Eradication Commission or Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi. Despite the tremendous success, the work of the commission is often hindered by complex bureaucratic procedures. This is socio-legal research drawing on qualitative data derived from statutes, interviews, and focus group discussions with lawmakers, civil society, and ONGs. The study reveals that bureaucratic reform can boost the fight against corruption because it improves public services and strengthens the actions of the government. The study also shows that bureaucratic reform can help to increase public awareness of corruption and change their attitude accordingly.

Forest and land fires are disasters that occur quite frequently in Riau Province and have an impact on the destruction of various sources of community livelihoods, land quality, and public health in general. Efforts to deal with forest and land fires disasters have been carried out by various parties through various prevention activities to recovery, but broad community participation from various stratifications has an important role in managing forest and land fires disasters in a sustainable manner. Community Concerned Disasters (MPB) is a volunteer organization that acts as the front guard in efforts to deal with forest and land fires. This study aims to identify MPB communication management in forest and land fire disaster management activities in Sukajadi Village, Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. This research used a participatory approach and indepth interviews with local residents, communities and government. This study found that in efforts to deal with forest and land fires disasters in Sukajadi Village, MPB has a strong role in involving stakeholders to preserve the environment, improving infrastructure and equipment, and increasing community capacity in forest and land fires disaster management.

Literacy skills are a manifestation of an individual's ability or quality of being literate, encompassing the ability to read and write, both physically, tactically, and technically, within a unit to carry out a mission or task. In this case, the mission is to enhance the reading interest of elementary school students in the Cilengkrang District, Bandung Regency. In line with Cope and Kalantzis (2000), multiliteracy pedagogy has evolved to encompass multilingual and multimodal dimensions of literacy[1]. This has implications for schools and communities that need to develop practices and skills in using various ways to express and comprehend ideas and information through conventional text forms as well as innovative text forms, symbols, and multimedia [2]. Literacy skills can be enhanced by adapting current learning media to be digitally based to attract the literacy interest of students. Through engaging learning media, the literacy movement can be successful. The method used is digitizing conventional learning media and introducing innovative new learning media to enhance reading interest in students. Based on these considerations, training on creating digital-based learning media is necessary as an innovative effort in preparing effective learning media with the goal of improving the literacy skills of elementary school students. The training, followed by mentoring, will be conducted over a three-month period, from February to April 2023, involving 36 teacher participants. The outcomes of this training and mentoring, students interest in elementary schools in Cilengkrang District has increased because learning media is no longer conventional and digital based. This increase was achieved after teachers attended training and were able to create and apply digital-based learning media in the classroom. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Criminal sanctions against perpetrators of corruption crimes require extraordinary breakthrough according to the penal objectives, which is not only to provide a deterrent effect for the perpetrators, but also to provide benefits to the community by optimizing the competencies held by the perpetrators, since perpetrators of corruption are competent either in the aspects of social, economics and politics. The current criminal sanctions do not lead to the utilization of the potential possessed by the perpetrators of criminal acts. The focus still leads to deter the perpetrators only by providing severe criminal sanctions, namely by accumulating criminal sanctions in prison and fines, as well as other additional sanctions that focus on perpetrators, not on to interests of the state and society. The result of the research is to conceive the concept of social work sanctions that utilize the competence/expertise of the perpetrators to be able to provide great benefits to the community directly which implementation is based on the values ​​contained in Sundanese customary law, so that the objectives of the punishment are not only to correct the conduct of the perpetrators, but also to restore state financial losses, and to provide great benefits for the community. In reality, development that does not pay attention to spatial planning causes problems, namely the use of space with unclear needs and designation, so that it creates problems related to the chaos of urban planning, prolonged disasters, also raises population problems, this is as a result of development permits issued which violate many spatial regulation, so that the development carried out is not in accordance with the function of spatial planning, whereas in the spatial regulation there are heavy sanctions for perpetrators of spatial violations, but in reality the sanctions imposed do not provide a deterrent effect for the perpetrators and also do not benefit a recovery of spatial functions. In response to this, this article aims to provide recommendations in the application of sanctions that have been regulated in the Spatial Planning Law. This article in its preparation used the normative juridical method, with a multidisciplinary approach, covering spatial law, state administrative law and criminal law and was analyzed in a qualitative juridical manner. With this recommendation, it is expected to provide spatial law reform in Indonesia, especially in collaborating sanctions regulated in the Spatial Planning Act for both private individuals and corporations, as well as for spatial licensing officials, in an effort to achieve legal certainty and legal protection Keywords: Strategy, Sanctions, Violations, Spatial Planning.

Euthanasia violates the rights of health, because committing euthanasia is as same as giving someone the rights to not obtain an optimal degree of health. Health rights are rights directly related to health services and efforts to improve public health both physical and non physical. Euthanasia is the act of stopping someone's efforts to get health. Health efforts with maintenance approaches in the form of healing diseases (curative) and health recovery (rehabilitative) were stopped. Euthanasia is also an act of giving someone the rights to die. This paper is to discuss the legal consequences for patients and doctors of committing euthanasia in the perspective of health and criminal law in Indonesia as well as the construction of comprehensive legal policies that can provide legal certainty and legal protection for patients and doctors from euthanasia in the context of law reformation. Legal protection for patients is related to the guarantee of treatment, legal certainty in the event of euthanasia. In addition, legal protection for doctors is related to the provision of medical services, in the ability of competence to provide treatment and how doctors are responsible for euthanasia committed against patients, so it is expected that by constructing legal policies will provide recommendations for the reformation of laws and regulations in the health sector and provide legal assurance and legal protection for doctors and patients. Skema Piramida secara tegas dilarang oleh Undang-Undang Nomor 7 Tahun 2014 tentang Perdagangan dalam Pasal 9, namun praktiknya skema bisnis ini terus berkembang. Masyarakat sering dikelabui oleh penawaran yang menggiurkan. Penawaran tersebut sering dikemas dalam bentuk penipuan dan penyalahgunaan keadaan (undue influence). Kelemahan KUH Perdata sebagai payung hukum yang mengawal proses kesepakatan berinvestasi disinyalir menjadi faktor penyebab pemberi penawaran melakukan strategi pemasaran skema piramida ini, sekalipun Undang-Undang telah jelas melarang. Hanya Pasal 1321 KUH Perdata yang dapat dijadikan sandaran hukum terhadap penyalahgunaan keadaan (undue influence), sementara aspek hukum yang timbul dari praktik investasi bisnis skema piramida ini begitu kompleks. Penelitian ini memfokuskan kajian terhadap bentuk penyalahgunan keadaan (undue influence) dan pelanggaran prinsip utmost goodfaith yang dilakukan oleh pemberi penawaran (Offeror) terhadap penerima penawaran (offeree) dalam praktik investasi bisnis skema piramida, sekaligus mengkaji aspek hukum yang timbul dari penyalahgunaan keadaan, dan mengkaji tanggung jawab hukum offeror dalam praktik investasi bisnis skema piramida. Dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan yuridis-empiris dan spesifikasi penelitian bersifat deskriptif analitis, kemudian dianalisis secara yuridis kualitatif, hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, dalam praktik skema piramida berbagai bentuk penyalagunan keadaan (undue influence) terhadap offeree, antara lain karena keadaan ekonomi, keadaan psikologis, dan memanfaatkan nilai hukum yang hidup (living law), seperti nilai komunal dan gotong royong, serta faktor kepercayaan (trust). Awalnya sederhana dari penyalahgunaan keadaan ketika proses penawaran, namun proses berkesinambungan menjadi sebuah kontrak investasi bisnis yang sarat dengan beberapa pelanggaran dan menimbulkan multi aspek hukum, yang meliputi aspek hukum perdata, aspek hukum pidana, dan aspek hukum ekonomi. Oleh karena itu, penyelesaian kasus hukum yang berdimensi multi aspek hukum ini hanya dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan tanggung jawab yang multi aspek hukum, yaitu model konvergensi tangungjawab hukum. The issue of the environment is becoming more complex. Regarding industry development, the impact of pollution, waste, infrastructure, and social pollution is getting worse. Especially in Riau Province, known for its disastrous peatland fires in recent years. This paper aims to identify the community development to address the environmental crisis in forest and land fires implemented in Kampung Jawa, Riau Province. This study utilized participatory observation and in-depth interviews with the local community. Secondary data were collected in the form of information on programs from the newspaper clippings and reports. The research discovered that local communities initiated the community development program to change the image of peatlands previously known as the source of haze disaster, which also has economic potential. The community development conducted by the local communities consisted of (i) Masyarakat Peduli Api (MPA)—a community volunteering to deal with disasters and suppress forest fires, (ii) pineapple farm and pineapple product processing, and (iii) peat Arboretum. This study also disclosed that community development carried out proactive dialogue and engagement with stakeholders, including farmers’ communities, local communities, NGOs, and local government.

Student learning motivation during the Covid-19 pandemic is very necessary, given the shift in learning methods as an effort to adjust the learning process to current conditions. In order to achieve the objectives in the learning process, motivation can be the overall driving force in students that can cause learning activities to occur. Learning motivation can be increased by adjusting digital-based teaching materials. Through interesting teaching materials, blended learning methods can be successful. The method used combines online and offline learning at the same time and is one of the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic in the world of education that must be faced by Cibeureum Private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers. Teaching materials that are usually made conventional, now have to be changed to digital-based. Training and mentoring are carried out as an innovation in the preparation of effective teaching materials and can accommodate blended learning needs and can increase student learning motivation. The training and mentoring were carried out over a period of 3 months, starting from January to March 2022 and there were 18 teacher participants. As a result, through this blended learning of training and mentoring, teachers are familiar with learning methods and can create and apply digital-based teaching materials to students during learning. Writing a scientific paper cannot be separated from academic activities carried out by students. In writing, they must apply the requirements of good paragraphs so they can be understood by the reader. One of the requirements for making a good paragraph is to combine the elements in it. However, in reality, there are still many students who have not paid attention to and applied these requirements in their writing. Therefore, this study aims to determine the extent of the suitability of the writings made by students with the given topic. In addition, it will help us in understanding if there has been good coherence between the ideas. The method used in this research is the descriptive quantitative method. The source of this research data is taken from the Google Form which must be filled out by students about writing. This study hypothesized that the students were able to write a good paragraph based on logical thinking, on a given topic. However, some of their writings are still not related to the elements of the paragraph. Thus, there is a need for writing classes or special guidance for students in improving their writing, especially in logical thinking. This will help us in finding out if there are any fallacies in their writing. This activity is very important, to do so that students' writing can be better and of higher quality, both in terms of Indonesian grammar rules and logical thinking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In Indonesia, various legislations have been enacted to protect women. In fact, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women has been ratified through Act No. 7 Year 1984. But numbers of discrimination, domination, and violence against women is increasing. This is motivated finding of preliminary data at the penitentiary that women cases that affect women perpetrators of criminal acts predominantly sourced from domestic violence. This study uses normative juridical methods empirically supported, through a multidisciplinary approach is the approach of the legal aspects of civil and criminal law and procedural law. The data obtained and analyzed by juridical qualitatively. The results showed that, the model of conventional litigation, directs the entire process of the law to be passed by left entirely to legal counsel. Model of this litigation has not provided the knowledge, understanding and awareness of the law against female perpetrators (victims marginalized). Results of this study recommend a model of independent litigation. This model is expected to accommodate the litigation needs of female perpetrators of criminal acts, so that they can advocate for themselves in the face of the proceedings. In addition, the model is expected to have an independent advocate can be a new alternative in the judicial process, and can be used as a reason for consideration for renewal effort does justice process. Bahkan, telah meratifikasi Convention on The Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women melalui Undang-Undang No. 7 Tahun 1984. Namun faktanya diskriminasi, dominasi, dan kekerasan terhadap perempuan semakin meningkat. Hal ini dilatarbelakangi ditemukannya data awal bahwa di lembaga pemasyarakatan perempuan kasus-kasus yang menimpa perempuan pelaku tindak pidana dominan bersumber dari KDRT. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yuridis normatif dengan didukung metode yuridis empiris, melalui pendekatan multidisiplin yaitu pendekatan dari aspek hukum perdata dan hukum pidana serta hukum acara. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara yuridis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, model litigasi konvensional, mengarahkan pada seluruh proses hukum yang akan dilalui diserahkan seluruhnya kepada penasihat hukum. Model litigasi ini belum memberikan pengetahuan, pemahaman dan kesadaran hukum terhadap perempuan pelaku tindak pidana (korban termarginalkan). Hasil penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya model litigasi mandiri. Model ini diharapkan mampu mengakomodasi kebutuhan berlitigasi dari perempuan pelaku tindak pidana, sehingga dapat mengadvokasi dirinya sendiri pada saat menghadapi proses beracara. Selain itu, diharapkan model advokasi mandiri ini dapat dijadikan alternatif baru di dalam proses peradilan, dan dapat dijadikan alasan pertimbangan untuk dilakukannya upaya pembaharuan proses peradilan.
