Este artigo analisa a inter-relação das atividades de extensão em Moçambique na concretização dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS). Os princípios e as ações analisadas giram em torno da temática Fome Zero e agricultura sustentável (ODS-2). Utilizou-se a metodologia de pesquisa descritiva, que envolve uma revisão da literatura relevante acerca do papel das instituições de ensino e as atividades de extensão desenvolvidas em Moçambique para alcançar o desenvolvimento sustentável e garantir a segurança alimentar. Realizaram-se entrevistas estruturadas com educadores, investigadores e profissionais envolvidos em atividades de extensão. O artigo aborda os desafios e as oportunidades para fortalecer os programas de extensão e aumentar seu impacto na adoção dos ODS. Os resultados sugerem que, ao fornecer educação, formação e assistência técnica à população rural, os programas de educação em extensão podem aumentar a produtividade agrícola, incentivar a gestão sustentável dos recursos naturais e aumentar a segurança alimentar. Além disso, estes programas podem capacitar as comunidades rurais para que se apropriem dos próprios processos e contribuam para o desenvolvimento sustentável de Moçambique.

Objetivo. Calcular o indicador de consumo de álcool per capita (APC) para o Brasil utilizando dados nacionais (APC Brasil), com vistas a estabelecê-lo como padrão ouro para o país em substituição ao indicador anteriormente calculado pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) com base em dados internacionais. Métodos. Foram selecionadas, no Brasil, as fontes públicas de dados necessárias para a composição do cálculo do APC registrado e definida a concentração alcoólica por categoria de bebida. Para as variáveis APC turista e APC não registrado, indisponíveis no Brasil, foram usadas as estimativas da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) e da OMS. O indicador APC Brasil foi calculado e comparado ao indicador produzido pela OMS por meio de análise das medianas para o período de 2005 a 2020. Resultados. O indicador de consumo de álcool nacional foi de 9,2 litros per capita em 2005, chegando a 9,8 em 2020. Já o indicador da OMS mostrou, para 2005, um consumo de 8,4 litros per capita, com queda até 2016 e leve aumento para 7,8 em 2020. Conclusão. O APC Brasil foi calculado com base em fontes nacionais e mostrou tendência distinta em relação ao indicador da OMS, que se mostrou em queda. A disponibilização transparente e regular desse indicador por canais governamentais permitirá o seu monitoramento, possibilitando a elaboração de políticas para o enfrentamento do consumo do álcool no país.

O presente artigo trata da utilização da Cota de Reserva Ambiental para compensação em imóvel rural na hipótese de não possuir Reserva Legal nos percentuais legalmente exigidos. A Constituição Federal determina que o desenvolvimento ocorra de forma sustentável e, para esse fim, a Lei nº 12.651/2012 definiu espaços territoriais especialmente protegidos, como a reserva legal. Se a reserva legal não possuir extensão de área determinada na legislação, deve ser regularizada por meio de recomposição, regeneração natural ou compensação. O objetivo geral é demonstrar a Reserva Legal como espaço territorialmente protegido em imóveis rurais destinado a promover desenvolvimento sustentável, contribuindo com a implementação do ODS15. Como objetivo específico pretende-se evidenciar a Cota de Reserva Ambiental como forma de compensação da Reserva Legal ausente ou insuficiente em imóveis rurais, facilitando a sua regularização. Como resultado tem-se a demonstração de como a tecnologia pode ser utilizada em favor do meio ambiente. O instituto da reserva legal contribui para a sustentabilidade e a utilização da análise por mapeamento georreferenciado possibilitou a análise mais eficiente do cumprimento da manutenção da reserva legal em propriedades rurais. Com relação às formas de regularização do passivo ambiental destaca-se a forma de compensação pela utilização da Cota de Reserva Ambiental e sua forma de transação por plataforma digital.

O presente trabalho propõe-se a fazer uma correlação entre a erradicação da pobreza e a conservação do meio ambiente. É possível observar que a ideia de pobreza está ligada à ausência de um mínimo existencial (emprego, alimentação, moradia, saúde), que passa não somente pela questão econômica, mas também social. É possível dizer, por meio do presente trabalho que as pessoas mais pobres já atingidas pela conjuntura econômica, também são as mais afetadas pela degradação ambiental em curso. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa bibliográfica, por meio da coleta de dissertações e artigos a respeito da matéria. Da análise feita, verificou-se a importância do papel do Estado, que por meio de políticas públicas pode reduzir ou mesmo eliminar a pobreza existente na sociedade, bem como cumprir o que está disposto no âmbito Nacional e internacional em relação à proteção ambiental, ambas as variáveis estão relacionadas com a ideia de desenvolvimento sustentável.

É abordado o papel crucial das comunidades indígenas na Amazónia na luta contra as mudanças climáticas e na realização do Objetivo de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) 13. Ao longo de milénios, estas comunidades desenvolveram conhecimentos e práticas em harmonia com a natureza. O ODS 13, que se foca no combate às mudanças climáticas, realça a importância de integrar os indígenas neste processo. O estudo responde a duas perguntas centrais: primeiro, como os conhecimentos ancestrais contribuem para enfrentar as mudanças climáticas, e segundo, as medidas atuais para envolver estas comunidades no ODS 13. Estratégias como agrofloresta, gestão sustentável e conservação de recursos hídricos têm mostrado eficácia na biodiversidade e mitigação climática. A integração de conhecimentos tradicionais em políticas, programas como REDD+ e o fortalecimento da capacidade dos indígenas são chaves para a sua participação ativa na tomada de decisões e realização do ODS 13. Em conjunto, os povos indígenas desempenham um papel essencial na promoção do desenvolvimento sustentável e na mitigação das mudanças climáticas na região amazônica.

A questão ambiental se apresenta cada vez mais como um elemento crucial para a qualidade de vida na terra, o que torna necessário formar cidadãos no que diz respeito aos conhecimentos e ao senso crítico acerca do meio ambiente, e aos aspectos e impactos que o cercam. A partir dessa premissa, desenvolveu-se o Projeto Feira de Ciências Ambientais, de Marechal Deodoro/AL, que já se consolidou em quatro edições, e com a quinta em fase de organização. Com o objetivo de apresentar os procedimentos metodológicos e os resultados relevantes do projeto nas quatro edições já realizadas, este artigo foi desenvolvido, em formato de estudo de caso. Como resultado, observou-se a geração do saber por meio de métodos ativos que possibilitaram a promoção de conhecimento acerca das ciências ambientais e a popularização das ciências no município de Marechal Deodoro e nas regiões adjacentes, focando na disseminação de conhecimentos relacionados ao desenvolvimento sustentável e à melhoria da qualidade de vida da população.

Purpose: This article aims to propose and apply a set of analytical categories for evaluating engagement in mine closure processes. Design/methodology/approach: The qualitative research adopts a case study strategy considering the singularity of the phenomenon studied. The mine project analyzed is the country's first large-scale closure, scheduled for 2041, with the potential to influence future processes. Data collection involved observation, documentary analysis, and interviews. Sixteen interviews were conducted with representatives from the public power, community, organizations, and the company. The research strategy chosen was content analysis using the analytical categories raised in the literature review and triangulation of data collection sources. Findings: The results highlight the importance of the mining company's active role in constructing the city's post-mining future, collaborating to reconvert socio-economic dynamics, and fostering a trusting relationship with the community. However, the company remains distant from the debate. Interviews revealed a paternalistic relationship between the mining company that guides engagement in a predominantly unilateral flow, with communication directed to meet its interests. Originality/value: This research fills a gap in the existing literature by focusing on engagement in a vulnerable context. It contributes to the theoretical advancement of the main characteristics of engagement in mine closure processes and for dialogue practices with communities to favor sustainable territory development in the post-mining period. This work aims to express the extension actions of the Support Center for Management in Social Entities (NAGES), developed in the period from 2022 to 2023. This report highlights the growing importance of sustainability, addressing the global commitment to the Development Objectives Sustainable. In the postredemocratization Brazilian context, the third sector emerges as a hybrid approach to promoting social wellbeing. In this sense, the NAGES Extension Project, linked to the Dean of Extension at the Federal University of Cariri, seeks to train third sector organizations and municipal councils, focusing on budgetary and financial management and sustainable practices aiming at a cultural transformation based on efficiency, efficiency and effectiveness in the use of human and financial resources. An exploratory research in public schools reveals challenges in financial-budgetary execution and knowledge about sustainability. The project contributes not only to the sustainable development of social organizations, but also to the academic and professional growth of the students involved, promoting critical awareness about efficient and sustainable management in the third sector. The objective of this study is to understand the economic-ecological flows of Successional Agroforestry Systems (SAFS) in agroecological agroecosystems in the Serra dos Tapes region (RS). For this purpose, the LUME method was used: Economic-Ecological Assessment of Agroecosystems developed by the Advisory and Services for Projects in Alternative Agriculture (AS-PTA), based on its experiences accumulated since 1989. This method provides a theoretical-methodological and analytical apparatus for mixed model (quali-quantitative). With this tool, three agroecological agroecosystems that have been producing in SAFS for more than 10 years were studied. Among the main results, it was observed that they move up to 126 economic-ecological flows and that the Serra dos Tapes Successive Agroforestry Systems (SAFST) are expanding subsystems, presenting capacity and productive diversification. It is concluded that SAFST are multifunctional, that is, they fulfill their primary function of producing food, in addition to increasing biodiversity and improving the socioeconomic condition of the places studied, promoting territorial markets and being an important tool for the expanded reproduction of life in the context of agroecological family farming in this region. The methodology applied for the development of the research process is framed in a conceptual basis associated with the systemic approach of the territory and the landscape units as a tool for their multiscale planning; and the municipal territorial diagnosis that allowed evidencing the potentialities and land and use conflicts associated with the construction and operational- ization of the multipurpose reservoir Topocoro. As a result, a series of strategic guidelines for sustainable development is obtained that serves as the basis for the structuring of a sustainable land management model that allows to organize the municipality of Betulia in macro units and landscape units focused on configuring plot units on sites that do not mainly affect biotic and abiotic mass, contribute to economic reactivation and the improvement of the living conditions of local communities.
